Fullmer & Sons Heating & Air Conditioning

I used Fullmer for my HVAC needs for 25+ years. I had two furnaces and air conditioning units…read moreinstalled during COVID. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND Fullmer & Sons. Main furnace had an error code displaying, which could not be cleared. Code had appeared in the past due to a defective part. I called Fullmer and told them I had the same issue again. Furnace was still working so I was not a high priority. I waited months for a service call. The technician came, changed the filter, cleared the code, and said it was fixed. Code immediately reappeared. Waited months again for a technician to come back and look at it. They were there briefly, cleared the code, and said it was fixed. Code immediately reappeared. Waited months again for the technician to come back. This time the furnace was struggling to keep the house warm, and the gas fireplace had to be on to keep the house comfortable. Fullmer technician cleared the code once, declared it fixed and left. The code immediately reappeared and at this point the furnace was no longer keeping the house warm. An emergency visit by another company, and legitimate search for the problem, discovered the same faulty part as before. Three visits, months of waiting, problem not solved. Not even a legitimate effort made to find and fix the problem. The Fullmer staff needs more training and/or more supervision and the owner was not responsive to the problem.

Our water heater was nearing the end of its life so we began the task of collecting quotes. We…read morealways try to give our money to hard working local businesses when possible, so thought we'd see what B&B had to offer. My husband stopped by their office one afternoon on his way home from work. The receptionist told him that the owner is the one who does the quotes and he's only there in the mornings but said she'd give him our info. and have him call us. That was about a month ago, not a peep. Anyone who has ever had a water heater installed knows that the majority of plumbers charge a flat fee for their labor charge rather than their normal hourly rate, and it's a ridiculously excessive amount for a just a couple hours work, around $1000-1200 on all of the quotes we were given. So after the company pays their technician for the two hours of work, the rest of that $1000-1200 is pure profit in the company's pocket. Apparently B&B has so much work that they can afford to turn down a fast & easy $1000 profit. Good for them, I guess, but maybe then it's time to remove the "aw shucks" story about their humble beginnings, the company's growth and how committed they are still to this day, despite their huge success, to providing potential clients a "superior level of skill, craftsmanship, technical ability and communication". Clearly, that statement is no longer accurate if they don't even have the professionalism or common courtesy to give a quick call just to say that they appreciate the inquiry but are currently so busy they can't help us out at this time. First impressions are critical and because of this experience we will never consider them again for anything. Good old Godwin Plumbing took care of us and in only four days' time from first point of contact to completion of the job.

The technicians…read moretold us the job was complete, but when power was restored later that evening, the main breaker immediately tripped--proving the work had not been done correctly. We called customer service several times and were told someone would come out ASAP, yet we were instead scheduled for the next day with no explanation. We called customer service again and only then did they tell us that a manager would call us back in 24-48 hours, and that no personnel were able to diagnose or fix the issue that same day. Because of this, our home had no power--no AC, no hot water, no lights, and no running water. The temperature inside reached 85 degrees, and we had two chest freezers full of food at risk of spoiling. We were forced to purchase a generator and cords to keep food from spoiling. We also had to take an extra, unplanned, day off of work to wait for the problem to be fixed. We did not receive priority service the next day, and were instead scheduled as the "2nd job" of the day, after talking to customer service first thing the next morning. After repeated requests for action, a manager finally came out in the afternoon and was able to diagnose and fix the problem in about an hour and a half. They stated that they would reimburse us for the generator and gas, which is the bare minimum. Service Professor's complete lack of accountability, poor communication, and refusal to address the emergency situation they created make them entirely untrustworthy. I strongly advise against using their services, as they clearly do not stand behind their work or prioritize their customers when errors occur.
