Very Professional, Courteous, and listened to what I said, that doesn't happen very often. I thought it was a problem with the venting, he didn't shut me out he said, yes that could be but it might be a clog in your line and he explained. And that is exactly what it was. He worked at it for about 2.5 hours, took up the toilet ran his camera down and found it. Very reasonable and fast, the clog was 27' at the end of the house. Thank You Zach!! I will be having them cover the whole house where they come out Spring / Fall to inspect my HVAC (they check the capacitors in the outside condenser unit wich not very many HVAC Tech check this. I know because I have been an electrician for 50+ years) and they check the water heater and descale if it needs it. Thank You Kellermeier Plumbing for not having one more thing to think about. P.S I am 72 and this is the first time I have called a plumber. Rick Curtis

During tearfout of old shower, my wife and I observed the old insulation, which KP failed to replace insulation on outside wall of shower, saying it was not necessary. A direct violation of the MI bldg code. He then sealed the drywall, claiming " there was none there anyway. Another lie. Kellermeir finished the job and sent an invoice that was materially higher than we had agreed to, without explanation. We are now in litigation, my home is not in Code and the Building Inspector forced Kellermeir to get a permit 10 months AFTER completion of job. They refuse to admit responsibility or correct the deficiency. They have lied from the start, causing extreme emotional distress and mental anguish. Do not trust this outfit.

Anthony and his co- workers were: personable, communicative, kind, relational, professional, and they worked with you... instead of dumbing you down with condescending "tech talk". Godwin came in for a quote and totally blew it. In our opinion if there was a time when "Godwin's Got it!" that time is long - long gone. We have had several bad experiences with them. The Godwin crew on our jobs were not professional, personable, reliable... the list goes on. In fact we STILL have NOT received a quote for our water heater as they promised, now 2 weeks out...? But Ferrer Plumbing did a fantastic job. Anthony in one quick call, made an appointment to see our situation, he was great. He knew what he was doing, and explained everything in a way that average people can understand. The solution was perfect. Great water heater, at a price that was honest, fair and worth every penny, Anthony and Elijah, treated our home and situation like it was their home, and we will definitely use Ferrer in the future, and we unreservedly recommend them to everyone, especially our friends and family. If you still believe that LOCAL business can deliver the BEST in product, service, installation and follow up... then call Anthony at Ferrer. They represent what is best in business: excellent work ethic, and amazing customer care.

Would be 4-5 stars based on technical knowledge and pleasant nature of the technician. He did a…read moregreat job! My issue was with the 600% markup on a $30 relief valve for the boiler. They thankfully reduced the price after I asked for the part number and inquired why they were charging me so much for a simple valve. They have a good reputation in the community, so I was a little disappointed... Follow up: I was called by Blakeslee and Sons to address my concerns regarding pricing. It was explained that the mark-up is required to cover costs of certified technicians, overhead, etc. which makes a little more sense when explained. Maybe a better explanation of invoice and cost structure will help alleviate "sticker shock" in the future. Changed to 4 stars after the call back.

PRIVATE EQUITY WARNING: Predatory Sales Tactics & Massive Price Gouging…read moreDo not let the legacy family name fool you: Blakeslee & Son was bought out by Apex Service Partners (a private equity firm), and they are now using predatory, high-pressure corporate sales tactics. I called them out for an urgent after-hours service request regarding a potential gas leak. Instead of dispatching a qualified technician to safely inspect a life-safety hazard, they sent a high-pressure salesperson. The guy completely refused to look at or address the gas leak, and holding my household hostage, explicitly stated he would not leave my property until I paid him a $225 dispatch fee. Once he got his fee, he pushed incredibly hard to force me into a $27,000 complete HVAC replacement. He couldn't even give me a specific make, model, or component breakdown--just a highly generic, obscenely marked-up baseline quote designed to scare me into a panic buy. Always get a second opinion. I immediately called a legitimate, locally owned and operated HVAC company to inspect the system. Their technician: 1. Conducted a complete, thorough safety inspection. 2. Proved and verified my heat exchanger is perfectly safe and structurally fine to run through the upcoming year. 3. Discovered and safely repaired the actual gas line leak on the spot for only $95. 4. Provided a detailed, itemized equipment replacement quote (with exact models listed) for $8,700--nearly a $20,000 difference from Blakeslee's blind corporate quote. Blakeslee & Son is exploiting their old community reputation to scam vulnerable homeowners out of tens of thousands of dollars. Avoid them at all costs and support real, local independent businesses instead.

The pricing isn't by hourly, but by a software they use to find the best rates for the job required. Ultimately, I've voiced my concerns of how that system works and what I think could change but they are sticking with the way the price structure works, as it works for them. I am happy with the solution that was offered to me, and would use this company again, but more so for serious issues that require an expert to come out. When booking the appointment, it was explained to me that it was $85 to have the team come out, and an additional $125 for diagnostic of the situation of my leaky pipe, which could be used towards the maintenance cost. The determination made by the technician is that the pack nuts needed to be screwed tighter, and it took the technician less than 2 minutes to do so. For this labor, I was charged $220, and the charge is not itemized, it is just marked as misc. - and I had no option to just tighten it myself, as it already cost me $125 for the technician to diagnose the issue. Since I was charged $220 for 2-3 minutes of labor, that's about $6600 per hour that they charge. If we did just the $95 on top of the diagnostic, that's $2,850 per hour for their labor. I understand they are a business and I am not saying I expected the work to be free, but for the fact it was an additional $95 for him to tighten the pack nuts in 2-3 minutes is crazy. I asked about why it costs so much / the charge couldn't be a flat $125 since it was a simple solution, the technician told me it was a liability if he didn't charge me for his work, and since he had to screw TWO pack nuts, that's where the extra charge came in. If you go through this company, just expect a labor cost of $47.50 per minute.
