Donuts are fresh with unique flavors. The shop itself is a hole in the wall across the street from Kirkwood Farmers Market. Friendly service. Flavors change monthly. Cinnamon roll was $4. While it's more expensive than a grocery store donut, I like to support local business.

Tiny storefront but giant flavor. This location is close to home but far enough away to prevent me from over indulging. The selection of drinks nuts rotates regularly. Regulars like the Chocolate Fat Steve, But are now Pony and Gooey Buttercake and on their s visit sit a wildcard Cinnamon Roll with Blueberry icing and crumbled blueberry donuts topping. Friendly service and Hot coffee round out ether experience.

The donuts look really nice and the shop itself is small but cute. Everyone that works there is very nice and helpful but the donuts themselves are just lacking for the price. Some flavor combinations are weird and I definitely preferred the classic donuts over their special donuts. The donuts aren't bad just too expensive for what you get.

The names are punny and fun- the donuts are delicious- and I ate WAYYYY to many! ‍ Those are the marks of a good donut shop! The drunken fat baby was the best! I will be back for that again. I normally stick to healthy attempts for breakfast, but this place, being so close to work for me- may in fact cause me to gain a few pounds! Yummm!

2 mango, 2 coconut gluten free, a payday, and a pineapple tidbit. Minus one pineapple and payday because we couldn't keep our hands off!

Some of y'all reviewers sound like you're the worst at parties. Here's my take on this place: Strange is one of my favorite places ever. Kindest people, best locations, and AMAZING DONES! I drove 40 minutes to get to their store today and was met with a very kind employee and 8 donuts I was drooling over the whole way home. They are a small business who now does delivery to stay alive during COVID-19, showing how far they'll go for their customers. Please visit and grab fresh creative donuts. You will not be disappointed!

I have to admit I am not a huge fan of modern donuts. While extreme flavors are fun, give me a perfect jelly, boston cream, or chocolate frosted and I'll be happy. That said, the gooey butter donut at Strange Donuts is damn good. I doubt I could eat two of them, they are just too sweet, but I might try to. On the other hand the glazed donut was unimpressive. There's nothing special about either the came or the glaze. I went on Thanksgiving morning. So first, I have to thank them for even being open, but on the downside, there were only three flavors available. The people manning the counter were friendly and the prices were reasonable for modern donuts. I like Strange Donuts, I just don't love it.

When you tell a New Yorker that there's a place called Strange Donuts, where the hours are as strange as the donuts and that getting there at a certain time in order to obtain said strange donut is a must, you better believe I'm going to make you take me there. I came here on a Thursday night around 7 while on a work trip at the suggestion of a coworker. The space is tiny, but when you're only making a dozen or so different types of strange donuts (and closing shop once they've sold out for the night) space isn't really a necessity. The owner was very friendly and welcoming, and gave us the background on the different donut types. There are donuts that they have on the regular, a few seasonal, and then the one special mondo donut to rival all donuts that changes each week. Since we went the week before Thanksgiving, they had a special that had cranberry on the inside of the donut and was topped with smoked turkey from Pappy's (which I didn't get to go to while I was here. I know. I don't want to talk about it.). I can't even begin to explain how well the combination of flavors in this donut worked together. It was like there was a little team working together on my tastebuds to bring the ultimate Thanksgiving in donut form flavor. The other donuts we had were equally well crafted. The maple bacon donut was the perfect balance of sweet and savory, and the gooey butter cake donut was other worldly. I'm so glad I don't live near this place, otherwise I would be 300 pounds. If you haven't experienced strange donuts, I recommend making it a point to get strange here real soon.

I like the small location! Goodness I hate that I didn't catch the name of the gentleman that was working by himself today but the atmosphere was ideal! Very chill & the playlist in the store was good. I loved the selection of creative "strange" doughnuts! 10/10 will come back again...and bring friends! The guy who worked around 4 p.m. on 2/5 was awesome!

    I forgot the name!!!

It was so warm and fresh! The greenish jelly kind of filling was good with the donuts! I want to visit again and try other donuts~

    Kaldi's Coffee!
    Allison F.

The Kirkwood location is a small location with a good variety of donuts (made in-house), Kaldi's coffee, and milk (chocolate, strawberry, and white). We ordered a half dozen: cinnamon roll, southern (w/ banana pudding), chocolate long john, gooey butter cake, adam's apple (w/ apple filling), and blackberry lime. My top picks were the filled donuts--southern and adam's apple--because the filling added the most moisture to the donut. The others were good, but not necessarily stand-out's. I would pop in for another Southern and cup of coffee though.

One side is Jimmy John's. With the back being Donut Palace. The parking lot is large. The windows were tinted with two doors that had open signs, we weren't sure which one to go in and chose the one on the left. It could get really awkward with two customers walking in from each door at the same time. The left side door felt a little further away from the counter. Inside was super clean and had a cute area for eating in. New location growing pains with the staff not knowing what some of the donuts were. Seemed like the operation was the people behind the counter helped and then a guy at the register rang up. It was fine but felt lackluster. After we made our selection of a dozen with one of those being the massive Apple fritter. The total for the dozen was $28 and seemed excessive even with the massive fritter. When we ate them they were ok. They were a good size but just weren't my cup of tea in taste or price.

A Cautionary Tale (a real one, not a tall tale): First, I…read morecan't say that I'm writing a super fair review, because I haven't ever been into this donut shop. But my mom bought us some donuts from Olde Towne Donuts. I had a bite of a chocolate cake donut and it tasted fine. However, after eating a chocolate Long John, my 15 year old son informed me that he needed his rescue inhaler and some Benadryl pills, because he was having an allergic reaction. We didn't eat anything unusual for dinner. And the donut was the only other thing he ate. When I called the shop to ask if they use any kind of soy protein or pea protein in the ingredients- sure enough, they do. Before calling, I had searched on their facebook page a little to find out it if they had some special feature to their donuts- like "healthier" because of added protein, but I didn't see any mention of ingredients. When I called to ask, the girl who I initially asked wasn't sure what kind of ingredients they used, so I guess a head baker or owner got on the phone and confirmed that they used soy protein in their donuts. I'm not mad- thankfully my son was pretty quick to recognize it and was home where we were able to give him what he needed right away. Still, I caution not only customers with allergies or sensitivities, but I also have a strong word of advice to the owners: if you don't already have notices of this added protein ingredient posted in the store clearly as a warning, as well as on your website/ social media pages, I urge you to do so. It could seriously be a matter of life or death. My son has what people typically refer to as a "peanut allergy"; people who truly have that allergy are not allergic to nuts (I suppose someone could also have a nut allergy on top of it), but they are allergic to much more than just peanuts; it is a legume allergy. Legumes are plant foods formed inside pods, like beans, peas, and pea"nuts". Nowadays, there are so many unexpected foods that can cause an anaphylactic reaction for people with a legume allergy, because so many processed foods have protein as a filler (like highly processed frozen chicken nuggets). And now manufacturers are proud to boast their food item has "added protein". It is the legume protein that causes the severe allergic reaction, known as anaphylaxis. Which can often occur immediately upon ingesting the allergen and the life threatening symptoms can progress in just a matter of minutes. Thankfully, my son's reaction is not immediate- he usually has at least 30min before it becomes serious requiring immediate intervention, and lately he's been able to curb it by taking Benadryl, but he has had many ER visits and epinephrine as a young child. I have often been warned and urged by nurses and doctors not to take the risk of waiting, but to use the EpiPen injector and call 911 as soon as it is realized that ingested an allergen- even before symptoms- or as soon as he has symptoms -even if he's not sure he ingested an allergen. My point in sharing all of this is to emphasize the importance and seriousness of the matter. Please make it known to your customers in some obvious way (and certainly such that your employees would know) that your delicious donuts are made with soy protein (or pea protein or chickpea protein, or lentil protein- believe me, those are all used as added plant proteins.) Reading labels is second nature to our family, but it's so hard when something fresh made incorporates the allergen into their food that would not typically have added proteins. We love donuts and have eaten them from so many different donut shops and houses of donuts all over the country, but never encountered a hidden allergen in the dough. Let the people know, please!

I wouldn't have minded a few more chocolate chips, but it was still satisfying. The lemon blueberry truffle, however, was the standout. It was absolutely delicious. The attendant mentioned they come frozen and that most people actually prefer them that way. After trying it, I can see why.
