Went to Stowe Cider this weekend. We wanted to stop at The Alchemist first but it was too crowded. They have a big space in their production area and more seating in a smaller room off the side. There are some toys back there for kids, which was nice. You can get a flight of whatever they have on tap, which I appreciate. Came for a tasting here with a Locavore coupon (like Groupon). We tried a flight of 4 ciders (Tips Up, High & Dry, Strawberry Fields, and Safety Meeting), only one of which, I am sorry to say, was memorable. On the other hand, the setting is comfortable, you can linger a long while as you play Jenga, Cornhole, and a few other games. Barrels act as tables in front of big, picture windows, while picnic tables make up the rest of the seating. Floors are wood, walls are white but calming and giving an easy going vibe, There are pretty cool, contemporary prints (local artists?), on the wall, as well as a big screen TV which was showing vertigo-inducing mountain bike races. This was a really fun place to spend the afternoon. There was a great band playing (Joe Cirotti Trio), the ciders were great, and a special shout-out to Sarah, our server, who was handling at least 2/3 of the outdoor area by herself. I have never tried hard cider so we went to Stowe Cider to give it a try. Our sample flight included High & Dry, Tips Up, Shandy and Key Lime Pie. High and Dry has zero added sugar and that is very obvious. A tad bitter. Tips Up reminded us of a brut champagne minus many bubbles. The Shandy was okay but not our cup of "cider". The winner was the Key Lime Pie which somehow they were able to include the actual key lime flavor as well as a hint of graham cracker crust. It's a fun setting with plenty of outdoor seating options and the bartenders were very friendly and knowledgeable. I used to like the hard cider in a glass bottle. Not sure why but I do feel its different. Good place to stop by. They are planning to renovate the building and also offer appetizers...would be awesome when that planed is finalized. The building structure still need improvement for cider tasting. The cider is really good here. A large array of flavors and styles ranging from super dry to very sweet. We had a flight and 2 full glasses. The staff is not the best. We went on a Sunday and it was dead. There was only another couple at the bar. There were two bartenders. We sat down and waited for a solid 15 minutes before they welcomed us and informed us on how to order flights. When we finished our flights, it took another 15 minutes for two bartenders to ask if we wanted anything else. They barely engaged us at the bar with conversation but two seats down both bartenders were fully engaged with the only two other customers. Good cider bad service. read more

We absolutely loved this place! Wonderful ciders and a killer "shakedown street" menu of delicious high quality entrees, BBQ, unique sides, apps, & salads, plus homemade desserts. I loved all the music references on the menu such as box of rain, sugar magnolia, grateful greens, sugaree rack of ribs, Bertha pulled pork, truckin' half chicken. It was open mic / margaritaville night and the musicians were very entertaining. We all enjoyed a round of their spicy pineapple margaritas which were made from fresh pineapple.... So so tasty! My sister & I had the fried zucchini chips and we both agreed they were the best we've ever had. We also had the elote which was phenomenal despite it being at the tail end of corn season. They were unfortunately out of the Fried pork belly with maple brown sugar glaze but that just gives us another reason to return. The bar staff was very friendly & attentive even when the place got busy. The atmosphere is very chill, laid back, & cozy with multiple seating area options to choose from. We had so much fun just wandering & admiring all the framed signed concert posters that adorn the walls. Loved visiting Stowe Cider for some tasty hard cider after a day of skiing at Stowe. Parking was plentiful and easy. Even though it was a holiday and after the mountain had closed, the place was pretty empty. Even if it had been busy, there is a lot of seating. Four half glass samples were $7. We tried a mix of more traditional ciders and seasonal/experimental ones, even a hard seltzer. A miss or two for us, but definitely some winners-VTea Peach was great! Very friendly staff, there was a private event going on but we were still able to find seating. There are many ciders, something for everyone. I really liked a maple blueberry one, one that involved strawberry and lime, and a shandy that I tried. There were dry hoppy ciders too that my boyfriend loved. We had a great tasting experience at Stowe Cider. The place is located in a small shopping plaza on the Mountain Road (Route 108) next door to a children's clothing and toy store. They had board games available and there were picnic tables inside. It looks like a place they'd encourage you to hang out and relax with friends. The day we went it was freezing inside. Quality cider maker in Stowe - if you like nice refreshing alcoholic apple cider, this place is where you need to be. They have different flavors too - all are worth trying and bringing home. Favorite was that super fruity clean refreshing Strawberry Fields with mint. Stop in for samples and get a growler to go. Some of the best craft cider around, and if you are doing the brewery rounds its a nice palette cleanser between all those big hoppy beers. Super friendly people, funky cider spot! read more

This place is excellent, they had about 5 ciders for us to try and each one was absolutely amazing. They are not your typically sweet sugary ciders, they are dry real apple ciders. You can taste the freshness in the cider. I really enjoyed one that was made with Gin, but didn't have a name yet. I typically don't like gin but you couldn't even taste it. They also had a barrel aged beer that had orange peel in it, it was strong and delicious. Mark the GM was there to explain what we were drinking and talk about the process. You can tell that he is passionate about what he does which makes the experience that much better. He talked about how locally sourced all of the products were, and how the raspberries were handpicked by the lady who owned the market before it became Stowe Cider. The person working the taps and register was friendly and accomodating. It was nice to be able to write down which ciders you wanted with your flight before getting up to the register so you don't feel pressured when choosing.
