Excellent local brewery with friendly people and a comfortable, cavernous sitting area. Squeak clean bathroom is a huge plus. It's always fun to see the fermentation tanks and other innards of a working brewery while downing a pint or two. Variety of beer is impressive ranging from American pale ale to triple IPA with IBU from 20 to over 45. Food on site is a different business where you order separately pub grubs like burgers and sandwiches. Took me awhile to appreciate the name 14th Star for a Vermont business. I had 10th grade US History way back in the last century.

Veteran owned!! Good beer, good food, and GREAT staff!! This place is kick ass!!! Just like you would expect from a veteran who served our country with honors! I got the green mountain burger. It was possibly the best burger that I have ever eaten!!

Not lots happening in these parts. It's strange to see that this brewer is in a strip mall (insert confused head tilt). The big space good for groups or hanging out on a snowy afternoon which one would assume they get quite a lot of those here. Staff was friendly. Games for adults and kids. Live band. They only offer fresh pretzels. That's it. Zilch. Zip. Nada. That was disappointing. So I love the Tribute in the can which was one of the reason for coming all the way up here. But surprisingly I did not like it on tap. Nor did I like 72. We had two flights so I tried everything. Nothing made me do the happy dance.

First time in St Albans looks like a gentrification is happening in down town. These guys are a big part of it as the place was packed on a Saturday afternoon. Great selection of IPAs. So good I had to buy a 4 pack of the B52 nice work!

For my first brewery stop in Vermont, I could not have been happier. The service was awesome, and the prices were close behind. Some really solid beers. I highly recommend the Coffee IPA! We bought a lot of 4-packs today, and if I had the time, I'd go back all week to get more. I'll came back to Vermont again, and I WILL be at 14th Star when I do!

Was in town for work and this brewery was walking distance to the hotel! Had a wonderful visit. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The bar was a great place to sit and there was plenty of space for large groups at the big picnic tables. They also had seating outside. The beer selection is pretty good. My favorite was the Valor Ale. You can also get growlers and 6 packs to take home. I didn't eat the food, but it seemed like a lot of people were enjoying it. This would definitely be my go to bar if I lived in town.

Stopped in here with 45 minutes to an hour to hang, and really liked the place. Had a beer flight, liked all of it, the ginger may have been my fave as it was unique. Loved the VT shaped flight boards. The woman working behind the counter, who I presume was the owner, was very cool and helpful. Bought a hoodie to take home to remember the experience and a 4 pack of beer for souvenir purposes. They had food but we didn't try any this time. I would return if ever in this charming little town again.

I hate giving this a mediocre review, but it was a mediocre experience. Having loved Valor & the older version of breakfast stout, I thought the tap room would be an even better experience. They offered tons more on draft, about 12. I was disappointed with all. The hike to St Albans was simply not worth it. Skip the drive and try the cans, they are everywhere! Sad face. Was hoping for more. And for the food options to start earlier.

Growler fill station at 14th star is awesome!

14th star beer is a must if your new to the area. It is a well know local favorite for those of us from the area, they make some outstanding beers, and are a Veteran owned and operated establishment. The brewery has a great bar and is rustic in flare. They have about 10 of their beers made in house on tap along with a few other local breweries as "guests". They will soon open a BBQ spot next door and attached to the brewery we can't wait to try it! Stop here if your in St. Albans you will not be disappointed. Hope this helps !

Good beer...and now the food is good w Grazers. It's not a full blown restaurant, but it's a good brewery with solid eats.

They said it depends on the song. I asked to be seated in the main room and the hostess told us that when something opens up she's would let us know so we could move but she never returned. When we left there were plenty of seats available in the front. We certainly would have stayed and had more drinks after our meal to enjoy the music. On to the food. We basically all ordered the same thing in a different form! Haha! It was the Vermonter where you got your main dish with sautéed apples and maple bacon jam. We got the Mac and cheese, the wrap, and a burger on a gluten free bun. We were impressed with their gluten free options and the bun was so good, my daughter was nervous it was not gluten free! It was! And she felt great afterwards. All the food was good, the drinks we had were good, and the service was good. The place was cute and looked like a lot of fun if you were in the front room!

This brewery was known to be superior 8 or so years ago. Us hop heads in CT dreamed about it but never tasted. We were curious, their location was intriguing. It also made us skeptical. So the snow is falling, it's approaching 4pm, the drive brings you up a hill on the dirt road. Add beer to the uncertainty of the moment, it was perfect for anxiety, excitement and first tastes. Draft one was a nitro stout. Yeah, like Guinness but... UNBELIEVABLE. Just that good. Then an IPA close to their origin. Simple. Again, UNBELIEVABLE. Easy sell, I bought each 4 pack available. Asked for a restaurant in Montpelier. The Three Penny Taproom was... UNBELIEVABLE. (Chickpeas, Chicken Nuggs and Hill Farmstead all over the place.) Of course the brewery guys recommended it, and the gas station at Willey's in Greensboro. So we survived the "brief flurry", and a Taproom extraordinaire. The beer is ready for a Connecticut Christmas and will be compared to the beer from Burlington, Stowe and Deerfield. All great brews. The anticipation of enjoying Hill Farmstead beer was just as exciting as the trip and first taste. So, If you need a trip, find them. No complaining about the distance and remoteness, please. It's where they are. Yeah, you can find the beer in other places in state. I look forward to getting it at those spots. I look forward to seeing the brewery in the summer!

A bucket list of mine item has been achieved wonderful beers. It takes a little effort to get here.read more
