I rented a truck and selected to reserve a storage space just in case I needed it, in which I…read moredidn't. A week later, I received a charge for the storage space that I never retrieved. I never even walked into the place, signed any documents, nothing. I called to inquire about it and the business lines are forwarded to the cell phone of Mike Josefik. He answered the call and told me I'd have to call corporate in another state for a refund. The number he gave me was a telemarketing number. I called him back and he starts to screen my calls and wont answer. I've left him messages and showed up at the storage and it's closed. I've even called from my job and once he hears my voice he hangs up and wont answer again. I tried searching for a corporate office and I'm coming up with a blank. Don't rent from them, they are scams!

I wish there was a lower grade to give this storage facility. This business is the worst I wouldn't recommend them to a homeless man needing to stay somewhere. Not only did she tell me to shut my G* d D*** mouth she hung up on me and told me I was stupid for not understanding what she was trying to say. So, I own a moving company and realized that I had been being charge for storages I was no longer utilizing in the amount of roughly 5k. I spoke with management and not once did we receive information about closing out the storage. I told her that if we did, we would have informed the facility (All this after receiving a call from one of the associates working at Linden self-storage back in July and we informed him we were moving out he never said that there was anything to do and thanks for letting him know) .But after telling the manager she says I don't care you are not getting any money back and basically tell me that she is the manager, and she doesn't care what anyone has to say she will run the business the way she wants, she didn't even send proof of the emails. Normally I'm not appalled enough to write a review, but this company needs to be shut down and closed if that the way they do business. All I want is my money returned to me for storages I haven't used in over 5 months I don't even want an apology and LINDEN SELF STORAGE you all Are a F rated business period because your employee!!!!!

I write this review and am torn on the stars to give this location. They are friendly and helpful…read morein Linden but this one star review is based on the overall corporate policies and pricing structure of the different Extra Space Storage facilities in the area. As a customer of almost 3 years in the Linden location, I called regarding a recent price increase in my monthly rates. After speaking with the Linden facility, my rate was increased $80 a month (24%) due to competitive pricing and capacity rates in the area. One- I am frustrated that they offer cheaper rates online for new clients in Linden but existing clients pay a significantly higher rate. After calling, I asked about the significant increase for loyal clients, the rep laughed at me. The representative was able to negotiate a new price and waiting approval from the manager on the cheaper rate. In the end, the price has gone up $56 a month. Two- Rates for the facilities vary from location to location. Check the rates at different locations because Carteret, Iselin, Edison, and Avenel are all $50-$75 cheaper a month than Linden for the same size storage locker with drive-up access. Do your homework and check rates on a yearly basis. Other Extra Space Storage facilities in the area are cheaper.

I came here because of the Special Monthly Rate Deal ExtraSpaceStorage were Advertising @ $114.00 Plus the insurance I added and taxes costing me about $133.00 already is high for me, but it's insured. Now here comes this ridiculous $21.32 increase within 3 Months?! of $177.50! That's Ridiculous! I called the Manager (Jim McGowan) about the situation, Jim tells me that the increase was because they were charging their "new customers" more for the same unit. I told him what does that have to do with me?? If these "new customers" agreed to pay a higher monthly price for the same unit, that's between the storage place and the "new customer" who agrees to do so. I said Jim, you guys were (Advertising a Special Monthly Rate) for the unit that got my attention in the first place, and then you're going to increase my unit 3 months after because the "new customers" are paying more?? What type of business is this?! (ExtraSpaceStorage) Advertise "Special Deals" as Bait!!?? Once you're in ExtraSpaceStorage they go and decide to change the special rate on the fly and as a paying customer, You only give us 2 options : Option # 1 (Accept the ridiculous increase) Option # 2 (Move out within the month) That's called misleading people with GREED! and it's very bad for business! I came from Cubesmart to ExtraSpaceStorage because of the ((Special Monthly Rate!!!!) and it was closer to me. I was with Cubesmart for 10 Years and I left the place only paying $170.00 for the same size unit, within 10 years! Cubesmart raised my bill yearly at a low rate which is a great thing for us customers that would stay renting the unit for a longer time at the place. The only issues I had with Cubesmart was the drive and the waiting for that one and only manually operated freight elevator, I had my unit on the 4th Floor. I rather sacrifice and deal with those issues to pay a low yearly rate, compared to ExtraSpaceStorage that will increase your unit on the fly according to what their "new customers" are paying. Very disappointed with this location and please be aware of the so-called "Special Monthly Rate Offers" from ExtraSpaceStorage. Now with this COVID-19 we're going through I've been furlough struggling with my bills and I'm getting another increase on my monthly bill of $16.00 in July... Total $193.50! Great way to show your customers that you care for our business and loyalty - (Jim McGowan) Hopefully, when all this COVID-19 situation is over, I can go back and rent from Cubesmart which actually has no ridiculous increase due to "new customers" paying more for the same unit, no hidden fees, no surprises.

Had hitch installed. I thought everything was great until, 2 days later, I am curious about how…read moreneat a job they did and took a look under the car. This is a 2018 model, and virtually nothing has been touched under there since the car was purchased. But the heat shield that goes between the muffler and car body had not been reinstalled. It was supposed to be trimmed and reinstalled along with the hitch. I am positive the heat shield was there before the car was brought in, because I was contemplating doing the job myself and looked at it with a friend. And the shield was there in the service bay, right beside the car, when the hitch installation was happening. During the time I made a couple of phone calls outside the U-Haul office, the mechanic brought out the car, so I settled the bill and drove off. Even U-Haul's online videos show the heat shield being reinstalled on this same model car, so I know it's supposed to be their normal procedure. Meanwhile, even though I called U-Haul and requested a callback from the install location, I haven't heard back. Already ordered a replacement from the car dealer and will have it installed. I expect this to be at U-Haul's expense. I have a dispute still open with U-Haul.

My wife and I drove 40 minutes separately, both rearranging our work schedules for it. Arrived and manager said the part "wasn't in yet." When asked why nobody called me the night before or morning of to tell me, he shrugged and gave me a "what can I tell you?" Unbelievable. Will never use this company again.
