I have…read moreto be 100% honest in stating that it was me who created the online reservation and caused me to get the price that I got. So I just moved back to NJ and needed to get a truck to pick up the rest of my things from NC. Since it seemed like all of the normal places where I rent my car was sold out due to the microchip shortage, I opted to rent from Avis and created a direct reservation through them (and not Hotwire like I normally do). So I arrive to this location to pick up the car - the staff was GREAT! The truck was great - everything was GREAT! However, once I returned the truck I was told that I would be charged an additional $345 for going over mileage - "PISSED" couldn't even come CLOSE to describing how i felt!!!! I ALWAYS have gotten unlimited mileage and was upset to see that I didn't get that!!!? So the person working the front counter pulled up the contract that I created and told me I had only 300 miles- so initially I said I was going to dispute it BUT I had no case because I created it! So I asked the staff was there anything they could do to help me because I did not anticipate being charged this much. Long story short, Fernando helped me out and managed to get the bill down some - it's still a ton but I understand they didn't really have to do anything! Although I still won't be renting cars anymore for a really long time - I appreciate all that Avis was able to do to help me out.

Since my cell phone was broken, the owner claimed he had to give my truck away despite me proving my credit card info to secure the truck. Luckily, I was referred to Nehal the rental rep. who was exemplary in her customer service. Not only did she have a truck for me, she was extremely pleasant throughout the process and provided me with fair discounts to compensate me for the time and frustration of not have a truck ready for my huge move. I highly recommend going to this location to rent a moving truck because of Nehal.

Poor couple in front of me paid approximately $2,000 for a bump in the awning. Be careful as it seems El Monte made "demages" their main source of revenues.
