We have been with this storage unit for years, we have only been late a handful of times, in years. My husband is a disabled Veteran that's been in the hospital, we are on a fixed income, we asked if there was anyway we could get help on the late fees this month and they said, nope, since we were late and they forgave a 50 late fee 2 years ago they couldnt help. 2 years ago!! Wow! Mind you we are usually on time, but we are on a fixed income and sometimes stuff happens unfortunately ! And only asked 1 time in years!! But nope sorry, they dont care, doesnt matter if you are with them for 20 years and on time for 20 years!! Also the rent on the units continue to increase pretty frequently.

I spoke with Jimmy D. on the phone and was extremely impressed by his intentionality and how thorough and informative he was. Jimmy D. made sure I understood the pros and cons of indoor and outdoor units, etc. Based on those initial interactions, I feel confident that SecureSpace is a great option for me!

In addition to my previous review I wanted to add my disappointment in the management when I…read moreinformed them of our break in and move out. They just don't care. They said "crime happens". They didn't even notice our break in with the RV next door having a wide open door. Ours had the locks drilled out. My point in writing another review is to emphasize that in the years that they have been open they have done nothing additional to secure the property. Our last storage facility had the rolled barbed wire on top of their fence and we never had a problem there. The only reason we left was because the property sold and it was no longer going to be a storage facility. Bergstrom Storage doesn't care. They will just rent to the next rv owner that walks in the revolving door. That is why it is month to month I suppose.

It started with speaking with Steve (One of the owners) about four months ago, as I informed him that I was moving 300 miles to town suddenly and desperately needed a place to store all of my stuff. Steve promised to have a specific size reserved for me, and if they didn't have a unit available when I moved down, that he would let me use his personal garage. That wasn't necessary though, as Steve made sure there was a space available (With about six hours notice from me, once I finally discovered when I was moving), and handled all paperwork over the phone as I was in the middle of a five-hour drive, leaving a lock in the unit because he knew I'd be getting there late in the evening and didn't have a fitting lock. My storage unit was spotless, the entire storage complex was/is spotless, and he was completely understanding and provided incredible customer service when I needed emergency access to my unit at 5am the next week. I've spoken to Steve a couple of times since. He was kind enough to remind me of my due date after I missed payment two months later, and didn't charge me a late fee because they're good people. I just finished a phone call with Steve's son, Mike, who provided equally great customer service and was incredibly accommodating to my requests. I'm removing my things from their unit, only because I've found a place to live in Austin. I would gladly drive back to Buda to continue using their services, because of the amazing customer service I've received. There's no need to storage unit shop. Call them today. Calling and talking to any other company is a waste of time.

We moved from Missouri and needed self-storage until we decided where we wanted to settle in…read moreAustin. This location is super-South, but it worked out great for us for the price and space. It ended up that we moved three times during the five years we lived in Austin -- and we maintained our storage the entire time because we had different amounts of space at each of our residences. At one time we lived in north-central Austin (around Anderson Lane and Burnet Rd.) and still felt comfortable having storage in south Austin because of the atmosphere at BS&P. Plus there are multiple ways to get there if traffic is heavy in one particular area (for instance, major construction on Manchaca Rd. heading south). BS&P seems to take particular pride in the maintenance and appearance of their grounds. It was never trashy, the lighting is very good after dusk, and the buildings seem to be well maintained. I liked that there appears to be regular pest management, and again, it was always clean. Upon clearing out our units, we did not find any issues at all with small animals, and insects were at a minimum considering it was not climate controlled and we didn't use any additional pest control in the units. I also felt confident about the way the drives are slanted and the doorways a bit elevated that we didn't have to worry about water getting into the units. Our storage was in the older section, so I don't have experience with what's available in the expanded storage area. The staff and management were often quite friendly and were prompt to provide service. There is often an employee patrolling the grounds until close. That made me feel at ease when going by myself to storage after dark. I would have preferred that there be access to the property later than the close time, but I don't know what the industry standard is, and I'm sure they avoid a lot of headaches by setting a restricted access time.
