My friend and I attend school in SF, but I live in MI and him in LA, we chose this place because it was one the cheapest we found in SF, very clean, people were super helpful, and we got free cookies on our first visit. They also have a TON of boxes in different sizes and they are also the cheapest we found. On my move in day, which was also the first day at the unit since we rented it, it had the company lock on it and the manager was away on lunch, but we didnt have to wait no more than 15 minutes for him to return during his break to unlock the unit. I would suggest this place because its clean, and its not far from Union Square, but not too close that theres a lot of traffic to deal with. If I ever need storage during the summer again, I will plan on using this storage location. read more

This is an awesome storage facility. The customer service is what is most remarkable. JIm, who's helped me many a time, is ALWAYS in a great, friendly mood, while I have, from time to time, been stressed and crabby from moving out of one apartment and still looking for another. (sorry Jim for my 'tude- but your friendly self now knows the gist of my life story since I vented to you like you were my therapist!) Anyhow, the place is great, brightly lit, clean, spacious, fun elevator lift, located by the ball park in the SOMA but not at all hectic in terms of traffic. I can highly recommend the Storage Pro location at 135 Townsend and especially the manager, Wil. We met him several years ago when we were looking for storage space because we thought we were losing our space in the building where we lived. That didn't happen and so we did not end up signing with anyone. Then, a few years later, we did lose our spot in our building and were again looking. We remembered what a positive impression we had of Wil so we went back to 135 Townsend and were happy to see that Wil was still there. Now I am renting from him for a second time. I love Storage Pro on Townsend. I dreaded having to shop around for a storage space in the city. And, as soon as I called and received Wil's warm, customer focused reception, I knew I wanted to rent space there even though I hadn't visited the location. It's located in a quiet and safe area of SOMA. There are always free parking spaces to drive right into the garage to unload and load your car without any hassles of looking for parking. Storage Pro is very clean and a well maintained facility. The staff is extremely professional and friendly. And best of all, they always serve warm Otis Spunkmeyer cookies. My boyfriend moved in with me and we had too much furniture to fit in my small apartment, so we decided to move some of his stuff to storage(my furniture are a lot nicer!) We chose this place mostly because of their Yelp promotion. We used spartan moving company to move us, David recommended to rent a unit that is big enough so the movers could pack everything in a way that we could access everything in case we need something. The facility is very clean, there's always enough parking, they have security cameras and alarm and we also purchased extra insurance. Good deal! read more

I'm a long-time user of this Storage Pro location and that has been for many years. I did my research on local storage places near where I live and work and decided this was the best place! Occasionally every other year or so I have checked other places and I'm still here. The location is perfect for anyone in this neighborhood, and a near ideal choice even if you're a little bit farther out. Facilities are good, service is OK. Here's the catch: It is company policy to raise the rent by 10% for every new customer after 5 months, then another 10% at 12 months. Be wary. The prices are not fixed and on an increasing schedule. This info was accidentally slipped by Beale street front desk worker. This is pretty screwed up and if I could do over again I would choose a different company for storage. There are plenty of other options out there. I like this location. It is only one block from the T line station. It is convience for me. I like the Manager Ed and his associates. The are responsible. I have seen one of his associates foot patrol this facility while I was in there. I have not seen or heard people break their lockers here. The only thing makes me uncomfortable for my lockers is the fee is high here. Is there anyway they can lower the fee possible ? read more

4.5 stars-- that a solid four stars for a great facility and an extra half star for Jim at the counter, as he always makes me laugh. We own a business in the south financial district and this spot is very convenient for us. Our unit has very tall ceilings so we can pack a lot of stuff in a smaller space. A very cool place. It's clean and professionally run by a man named Will I think. I checked out a few places in SOMA. Some of them were dirty. Some of them were indifferent.
