    Full sheet cake w photo
    David H.

Bought a full sheet cake w photo of son for his high school graduation party. Half chocolate and half vanilla. Cake was moist and not too sugary, but sugar print photo was bad, printed too green, while original photo was perfect. Also my wife asked for sprinkles on surface and not done. Guy who brought the cake out was not a baker. Little disappointed in the photo but nothing we could do on the day of the party. Cake was like $75 so you expect better. Wish we had ordered earlier, but we had no refrigerator to hold a full size sheet cake. Baker should have realized by looking at the photo against the sugar print that the printer was not working well. Next time, we go back to the Stop and Shop we know does good work.

The 2-stars this place receives is exceedingly generous. I waited for 10 minutes at the deli. The two guys working were in S-L-O-W M-O-T-I-O-N!! The person who was leaving with her cold cuts (when I hit the 10 minute mark) was huffing, shaking her head, and said that she was there for 25 minutes. I gave up. Then I bought a few items in the aisles. Went to the front checkout area, where there was ONE serviced checkout line open. I proceeded to the self checkouts, where there was a long line. Every self checkout busy, then 3 people in front of me waiting, then me, then 2 more people behind me (see 1st pic). The experience was AWFUL. But wait, there's more... I get the receipt, asking for feedback. But the ink is screwed up so you can't read it (see 2nd pic). Then on my way out, an employee bumps into me and doesn't say excuse me. This place is the worst run grocery store in the entire area.

Bathroom is DISGUSTING. Nothing like the smell of old piss to ruin your week. I don't think it's been cleaned properly since 2020.

One of the worst supermarkets I have been to in the state and I have been to a lot. Empty shelves and dirty aisles. Should be closed.

I sometimes like to be efficient and that is why I like the self checkout lanes at grocery stores...here, they don't have them. The company wants to have cash registers manned and open to encourage customer interaction. Good thing to focus on human interactions.

Yes, it's not as luxurious to shop in, it's usually mobbed, the aisles are tight and the parking lot sucks. Produce is not as great in some items, and they don't carry as many super-speciality foods as Whole Foods or Stop & Shop. However, the people who work there are amazing. They are abundant (try almost every checkout line open during rush) and helpful, and friendly, and the store is well stocked and well managed. No self checkout crap. You don't need it, there's always a line open. We'd kill for an upgraded facility like the nicer newer Market Baskets that do exist, but our Bellingham store crew, from the managers to the baggers are amazing, and make shopping here worth the visit. Their meat department is wonderful, the seafood is great and if you can get near the deli, they work hard and are great too. Finally, a shout out to the bakery and prepared food folks - they are awesome. The food is great and they couldn't be more helpful. We love MB, just wish it was as a new one. Oh, and don't go near the place the day before a major snowstorm, or any Sunday at noon. Plan your visit if possible. 5 stars for the staff and people and management, 3 for the facility. It really needs an upgrade.

Produce all very fresh. The premade packaged foods for on -the-go were freshly made. Nothing expired or past date that I saw on this trip. I was able to get some fresh fruit chopped up for half price to bring to a get together today. The woman who cashed me out was very nice, just starting her shift at the register, and was conversative which was nice. Once I finished loading groceries into my car a nice employee -older man -asked if he could take my cart for me. I was just about to bring it back inside myself but this was nice and we told each other to have a nice day. Just some simple kindness goes a long way. I am happy to see the change in attitude here with these new employees. Definitely for the better!

The store itself feels a bit smaller than other ones I've been to, but the cleanliness and the staff are top notch. I was looking for some beverages and they had a good selection of seltzer water, sodas and teas. I have always trusted their 365 private label brand, they do a great job on matching or exceeding the quality of national labels, great job, Whole Foods. The story of this chain goes like this, in 1978, twenty-five-year-old college dropout John Mackey and twenty-one-year-old Renee Lawson (Hardy), borrowed $45,000 from family and friends to open the doors of a small natural foods store called SaferWay in Austin, Texas. When the couple got booted out of their apartment for storing food products there, they decided to simply live at the store. Since it was zoned commercial, there was no shower stall. Instead, they bathed in the Hobart dishwasher, which had an attached water hose. Two years later, John and Renee partnered with Craig Weller and Mark Skiles to merge SaferWay with their Clarksville Natural Grocery, resulting in the opening of the original Whole Foods Market on September 20, 1980. At 10,500 square feet and a staff of 19, this store was quite large in comparison to the standard health food store of the time. Less than a year later, on Memorial Day in 1981, the worst flood in 70 years devastated the city of Austin. Caught in the flood waters, the store's inventory was wiped out and most of the equipment was damaged. The losses were approximately $400,000 and Whole Foods Market had no insurance. Customers and neighbors voluntarily joined the staff to repair and clean up the damage. Creditors, vendors and investors all provided breathing room for the store to get back on its feet and it re-opened only 28 days after the flood. Beginning in 1984, Whole Foods Market began its expansion out of Austin, first to Houston and Dallas and then into New Orleans with the purchase of Whole Food Company in 1988. In 1989, they expanded to the West Coast with a store in Palo Alto, California. While continuing to open new stores from the ground up, the company fueled rapid growth by acquiring other natural foods chains. Amazon bought Whole Foods Market for $13.7 billion on August 24, 2017. It was a much-talked about match that shook the world of retail. The deal saw an online powerhouse acquire a beloved organic grocer. It also marked a massive foray into the realm of brick-and-mortar grocery for Amazon. So far, the venture seems to have been a good thing for both. Amazon Prime customers get weekly specials at Whole Foods and the grocery chain gets the stable financial backing of a mega technology giant.
