In 2025, I just happened to be in Stop N Shop on both Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve. On both occasions, I was very impressed by the friendly, helpful service that I got. On Christmas Eve, I felt a bit guilty racing into the store at 5:40 p.m. to pick up a few things, knowing that they were about to close. By the time I got to the self check-out, it was 5:50, and I asked the young man at the next register if he knew where I could get a box to put a vase of flowers in. With a pleasant smile, he said yes and came back with an appropriate box for the vase. I had to ask for his help again a few minutes later when an item wasn't ringing up correctly. Once again, he politely helped me, and didn't seem to mind that it was now 5:55 p.m. As I left the store, I saw the manager standing up front, and told him how much I appreciated the friendly service. It was nice to be able to personally deliver a compliment, rather than having to take an on-line survey. On New Year's Eve, I was also in the store and found once again that the cashiers were very helpful and friendly. I was impressed by the cheerful service, particularly at a time when one might expect store employees to be in a hurry to leave. Thank you Stop N Shop! read more

Bought a full sheet cake w photo of son for his high school graduation party. Half chocolate and half vanilla. Cake was moist and not too sugary, but sugar print photo was bad, printed too green, while original photo was perfect. Also my wife asked for sprinkles on surface and not done. Guy who brought the cake out was not a baker. Little disappointed in the photo but nothing we could do on the day of the party. Cake was like $75 so you expect better. Wish we had ordered earlier, but we had no refrigerator to hold a full size sheet cake. Baker should have realized by looking at the photo against the sugar print that the printer was not working well. Next time, we go back to the Stop and Shop we know does good work. read more

Stop n shop is deplorable I had to get a quick meat of turkey breast opened it and it was bad. My fault I was rushing didn't check the label it said 2/4 and sold on 2/10 how does that calculate this is the third visit I have had to this establishment for food and have found it to be more inadequate than it has ever been as far as food quality goes. first time it was chicken second time it was a roast that I paid $35 for and now turkey Unorganized outdated products quality are below standards . I will be following up with further reviews on other platforms. This location and Foxboro need a full overhaul. Foxboro location has poorest customer service I've come across. read more

The self checkout is the lowest quality I have used at any retail store. The customer service employee blamed me for the problem with the self checkout that occurred during birthdate entry while buying NyQuil. Store is also dingy. I won't be back for at least a couple years because I've had more than my share of abuse from self checkout. read more

The 2-stars this place receives is exceedingly generous. I waited for 10 minutes at the deli. The two guys working were in S-L-O-W M-O-T-I-O-N!! The person who was leaving with her cold cuts (when I hit the 10 minute mark) was huffing, shaking her head, and said that she was there for 25 minutes. I gave up. Then I bought a few items in the aisles. Went to the front checkout area, where there was ONE serviced checkout line open. I proceeded to the self checkouts, where there was a long line. Every self checkout busy, then 3 people in front of me waiting, then me, then 2 more people behind me (see 1st pic). The experience was AWFUL. But wait, there's more... I get the receipt, asking for feedback. But the ink is screwed up so you can't read it (see 2nd pic). Then on my way out, an employee bumps into me and doesn't say excuse me. The overall service at the Stop & Shop is very mid. I live about five minutes away and refused to go to this Stop & Shop. I will travel all the way to Milford where the store is much cleaner. The managers are much more attentive to the customers in their needs. I went into Stop & Shop one afternoon with my family to get some cold cuts at the deli this young boy named Cory took my order I had asked for 1 pound of teriyaki chicken shaved. The look that he gave me was the look as if I was an idiot for asking for that. He proceeded to talk crap under his breath. I let it go for a minute then I told him if he's having such a bad day or doesn't like this job he should punch out and go home for the day or go find a new job considering his attitude was so terrible. A day later I proceeded to call the manager and just inform her that she had a very unprofessional child working for her in the deli. She informed me that he no longer worked there. come to find out he does still work there. Doesn't really matter to me just the fact that the manager lied speaks volumes. With that being said if you want quality deli service in overall quality service, I highly recommend the Stop & Shop in Milford and not the Stop & Shop in Franklin. read more

Basing my review on the helpful gentleman, Alex. Tonight I went to check out, having picked up some Grillo's pickles. Never had 'em before but decided to get them for a memorial day cookout I'm having Monday, based on 2 factors: 1) They have very basic ingredients: cucumbers, brine (water, distilled white vinegar, salt), garlic, fresh dill, grape leaves. 2) Thought they were made in Boston - BUT they're out of Norwich, CT. Like to support local companies, but it's all good. Pickles rang up and they were $9.49 before the S&S card... that's a little too much for me to pay for pickles, not to mention the tag where they were located said $4.99. Told the guy at check out to leave them off because they were priced at $4.99 and $9.49 is too much for pickles. Just to leave with peace of mind that I didn't read the price wrong, I went back and checked. I saw nothing stating the pickles we're $9.49. Alex, who was working where the scratch tickets and cigarettes are, asked if there was something he could help me with. I said yes and proceeded to tell my story. He made sure to rectify the situation. He was in the process of telling the workers over near the deli counter that there were, in fact, no price tags where the pickles were located and told me he'd ring the pickles up as the marked price - $4.99. Always clean and personable employees. Very helpful always looking to help you find the thing that you're looking for. . Whenever you have an item is on a free thing. They always have it. You never have to go without or get a rain check. I appreciate this as I shop for a living and really don't have the time to keep going in and out of stores. It truly is a choice to go to a store that really cares about its customers. Today, I went to pick up a couple of free items that I had in one of the items was a can of special baked beans. However It was very far back on the top shelf and unreachable for anyone who was not 6 foot or more tall. One of the clerks it was there that was running the self-serve registers came over graciously and help me to reach it off the top of the Shelf. I'm so disappointed in this store. Has anyone noticed the prices in this grocery chain have skyrocketed since the Christmas holiday? I was even told the same by an employee...that they have steadily increased prices. Today I went shopping at Market Basket, buying nearly an identical list of groceries, and paid $110 less! No, that's not a typo or an exaggeration. Shame on this grocery chain. All they have going for them is the location. That's worth $110 per trip? I don't think so. EXPLOITING PANDEMIC!!!!! I don't think I will ever forgive Stop & Shop for how they abused people during the pandemic. While all other companies bent over to try and make things work, Stop & Shop had this "F U we're busy" attitude. - For weeks the delivery options for peapod were unavailable. When I sent an email asking if peapod was still delivering, I got a $25 coupon but no answer to my question. - I asked again and got a reply that said "Sorry, we are too busy to answer your question" - Weeks later, I got another reply that said new delivery slots became available between 1AM and 5AM. SERIOUSLY!?!? So all the working people have to stay up all night to order groceries? - I got a delivery slot and then they refused to honor the $25 coupon I got when I sent the first request. - only one driver/delivery guy observed contactless delivery. The other two insisted on approaching me with an order slip that he wanted to chat about. - I heard that they had a new app and had solved the above problems. After I installed it to give them another chance, I discovered that they will not allow a checkout unless you provide your personal information and sign up for their card so they can track you. This is pure and simple pandemic profiteering. Its disgusting. read more

Don't bother to request how you would like your cold cuts sliced! I requested mine "very thin" and I received "medium" sliced meats and cheese. Yes, it's quicker to slice less slices, but it doesn't make for happy customers. i will be going elsewhere if this is how customer requests are handled. read more

NOBODY is ever in their butcher / meat department. Have stood there 10 minutes multiple times and nobody ever shows up. Maybe get a buzzer mounted there or something this is just foolish oversight. And no plastic bags at this location sadly only paper garbage that rip. One of the worst supermarkets I have been to in the state and I have been to a lot. Empty shelves and dirty aisles. Should be closed.

First off it is always crazy busy. It is rare for me to go there and not feel like I am shopping at New York City at rush hour. They are almost always out of stock on something I want. Produce... ewwww and finally, their self serve things are totally stupidly designed. You go to check out, and ring up at the far end only to have to walk all the way down to the other end to bag your groceries, if like me, you are single and buy more than one thing... some idiot will start ringing themselves up on your bill because "they don't see you" or something. read more

I do my banking at the Citizens bank inside this location. They were recently on strike. Even when you told the picketers that you don't Shop at Stop and Shop and are only using it for the bank they were verbally abusive and really mean. I would never spend a dime in a Stop and Shop and I will be driving an extra 10 minutes to the terrible Citizens bank across town due to the disgusting treatment I received doing my banking by Stop and Shop employees. read more

Stop & Shop is my coffee stop. Since I've been in MA I've started to fall in love with Dunking Donuts & there is one inside this Stop and Shop! This grocery store carries a large selection of dried fruit, which I love. Also there's a card store inside with a large selection of greeting cards. Plus a bank and a movie rental kiosk. Also Stop & Shop is the only grocery store that provides carry-out services all year round, regardless of the weather. That's a plus, if you need assistance to your car. I had to run over here on a break to pick up a few incidentals that I had forgotten to pack in my haste. On top of the razor and floss, I had forgotten to pack in a good bottle of hair conditioner, in fear that it would have been tossed by airport security. However, the weather is very dry out here and the minute I stepped out into the cold fray of the morning commute, my hair had turned into a large bush around my head. So dry it had become! Stop & Shop is the equivalent (in my mind) that of a Raley's set up. Typical supermarket with large open aisles and a Dunkin Donuts located inside, the coffee smell seducing me. i located my Mach razor (hey, men's razors do a better job, in my opinion) and the Frizz Ease hair conditioner. A box of their generic brand of floss and some bandaids for the numerous blisters on my right foot due to all that walking the night before in Boston. Items are a little bit more on the expensive side, as I think I was paying about a dollar or two more than what I normally would have done at a Walmart or Target. Checkout staff are cordial, but way more so than the drivers in the parking lot, where I was almost mowed down by a senior citizen in her big Buick. read more

Be cautious when ordering deli platters - especially the sandwich wrap party platter - who doesn't want to pay $40 for a wrap platter only to find out when you pick it up that they only have spinach and tomato wraps! Really??? They don't have plain or wheat wraps??? Told by the "deli manager" that it is pictured this way in the "booklet." Not sure how that helps considering I ordered this over the phone. This is the closest grocery store to my house so unfortunately I do shop here from time to time when I'm in a rush. Otherwise I spend a few more minutes to go up one exit to Market Basket which is a far better experience in every way: better prices, better produce, MUCH better, nicer, more helpful staff. I have been treated rudely by the staff at Stop n Shop several times. They are constantly out of stock even with items that are common, everyday kind of purchases. Their produce is just bad. I work in this plaza and go here all the time. I have no problem with it at all I don't really think grocery stores need reviews, however I am thankful as of right now that they do. Time and time again I go there for the salad bar and it is always disgusting I always give it a few months thinking maybe I catch it on a bad day. But I've been probably 5 times total in the last two years and it is always so so so so bad. Stale food old lettuce dried pasta just bad. So don't do their salad bar. I re-visited the Franklin Stop&Shop about a month ago, and decided to give it another shot. The manager I had an issue with in the past is gone (thank God!), and now the Assistant Manager Abraham and Front End Cashier Deb are both here. They are both much more friendly and helpful, yet state policies are still not completely understood by employees and not posted as they are supposed to be. Additionally, the store isn't as large or as amazing at the Walpole Stop&Shop. They did get a renovation, but the overall issues outweigh this renovation. I highly suggest driving the 15 minutes out of the way to go to Walpole, between the staff, largeness, and working of the scanner guns, it's by far worth it. Hopefully they will continue fixing this store, but for now, the steps to fixing it are going too slow for my liking (as my last visit was one year ago). I will be complaining to corporate to get the issues fixed. Still not great, but getting better. 2 stars this year in comparison to 1 from last year. read more

1 because I have to. As a S&S shopper for over 40 years at the Franklin, MA store I will not be going back. 1) I went up to pay. There were 2 lanes open with real people.scanning in those lanes were 2-3 people waiting with full carts. Then onto the 7? scanning lanes with 1 to 2 people in each. I had about 10 items. I scanned 5 products. I was told I needed help (by the machine) on three of them. Assistance came to key in the code this happened 3 times.. The employee showed me the correct way to scan the sixth item? Really? I scanned it on the bottom scanner as the employee walked away it said assistance needed. The employee told me to enter the SKU #'s. I asked why should I be wasting my time. MY TIME. Do I get a discount running the register for S&S? I have with-in 5 miles 5 supermarket chains. Consumer reports rated the top 100 supermarkets. In the bottom 20 where Stop&Shop and Star Market/Shaws. One of the top 5 stores was Market Basket. Now that I think of it they have 20+ lanes with people running the registers all the time. I do not work for any of these stores. read more

This Stop and Shop is incredible. Great deals. I shop here ALL the time. The staff is very friendly and helpful. It's mostly teenagers, but they are always very friendly. produce is usually very fresh. i've come across a few rotten things but they usually get me a new one, or refund it if I don't realize it until I've left, as has happened twice now. the bakery is really good as well, great cakes and goodies. The Dunkin Donuts is inside, so I get my coffee there all the time. the store carries all the same stuff as most grocery stores, but has great deals all the time. I spoke a manager named Dan about a refund once, he was very nice and helpful. I highly recommend it! read more

Bakery department told my daughter-in-law that she had to order a cake in advance if she wanted anything written on it. Also told her she could buy icing if she wanted to do it herself. I called the store manager later to confirm this and he said it was not their policy. I remarked that the bakery worker must have refused assisting my d-i-l because she is black. Never have I heard you had to order a cake in advance to have a greeting written on it! read more
