This is our favorite spot to take the pup for a walk. It is quiet, serene and beautiful. A quick way to get 1.5 miles under your belt while being surrounded by nature. Various birds like to hang out in the marsh area. There are often other pups and children that we meet along our walks as well. With that said, I would highly recommend going with someone else as there were a few times I encountered some questionable individuals in the secluded, gravel area past the boardwalk. The sunsets are stunning and you will often see fiddler crabs crossing your path. Simply gorgeous!

Such a lovely, small park! The trail is easy and great for any time of day. It occasionally gets busy on a nice weekend but usually we're one of just a few cars there. Gorgeous views and nice facilities including a bathroom and dog waste disposal.

The best way to start a Monday morning is with a nature walk through Stono River County Park. Located off of Main St. next to John Limehouse Bridge. This is a well cared for park. Lots of parking and restrooms accessible just off of the parking lot. Pets are welcome on leashes. The paths are paved and very easy to walk or ride bikes. The show piece is a gorgeous wooden boardwalk that expands across the marsh. Beautiful scenic views of the Stono River and Limehouse bridge. A canopy of trees line the wooded trails. You lose yourself in nature while you are here. There are several bench seats on the boardwalk to rest or just relax and take in the beauty of nature. If you haven't been to Stono River County Park, this is a must see!

Visited the Stono River County Park today. The weather was perfect for a morning walk. The park is located on Johns Island just off of Main, next to the John Limehouse Bridge. The park is a hidden gem. The park has two boardwalks and well-groomed hiking trails. Beautiful views of the marshes and the Stono River. There are several vantage points where you can see the boats going up and down the Stono River. It is a very peaceful and scenic walk. The round trip is about a mile to a mile and a half. I recommend that you visit this beautiful park.

The park seems well maintained. It features an easy to follow walk path, with marsh scenery. It is not a long walk. The path itself is flat and varies between concrete, boardwalk, and dirt/gravel. Definitely something that the whole family could enjoy.

We discovered this new county park during the COVID-19 pandemic. Right now it's the place to go for a quiet walk in West Ashley or Johns Island, as it's about 1/2 mile from the West Ashley Greenway. The park's entrance is gated, and you'll find parking, bathrooms, and water before you hit the trail. The park is home to trails that are connected via boardwalk. The view from the boardwalk and the nature make this a beautiful park for walking or running. You can ride your bike on most of the trails and paths, but not on the boardwalk- and the boardwalk is a bit long to push a bike. The trail is not technical or long, so it's perfect for families with kids, older adults, or dog walking. Right now, Stono River Park lacks the bells and whistles of other Charleston County Parks. That isn't a bad thing, but I'd love to see a playground or some workout equipment (pull up bars, etc). The park opened in March, so I'm confident that Charleston County will add amenities and host events later in 2020.

Beautiful place for a brisk walk or family picnic. It's dog friendly (on leash) and provides awesome views of the marsh, river and Limehouse bridge. Note: starting 22 February, the park will be closed due to eradication efforts against the invasive Japanese Long Horned Beetle. Check with Charleston County Parks and Recreation for the details. www.ccprc.com

I can't believe I've never been here (or even heard of this up until a couple of days ago). This is a great little park to go for a walk. Dogs and bikes are welcome, though you have to walk your bike across the boardwalk. There are bathrooms too, which is always a plus. Highly recommend and can't wait to go back.

Great place to go for a walk. Far from Mt. Pleasant, but worth the drive to see something new. I've been twice: once with a friend who took me, and once when I took my parents. Good place to walk or bike, although biking requires you to walk your bike along the bridge. Dogs seem to love it here. It's free to walk, of course, but donations are encouraged.

It was a nice park but be careful with the paws of your dog when you get to the trex board bridge, he got burned .

It is a favorite among Charleston locals and tourists alike. This park is ideal for a sunset picnic or a relaxing stroll, and it only adds to the romantic charm of Charleston. It won the 2007 Landmark Award from the American Society of Landscape Architects, confirming its status as a Charleston treasure. You can stroll through the gardens, walk the esplanade, or spend some time at one of the many fountains. Spanning over 8 acres and located less than a mile north of The Battery, Waterfront Park has become a beloved Charleston fixture. It is home to one of the city's most photographed sites: the pineapple fountain. In Charleston's scorching summer months (and we faced that too), visitors (especially children) can be found cooling off in the shallow water of the fountain. Wide walking paths, dozens of benches, well-manicured green spaces, picturesque Palmetto trees, and a famous Pineapple Fountain adorn the park.
