Actually when you park by the rec. center you wouldn't think there's even a dog park until you see a tiny sign with a man walking a dog. Follow that path beside the dumpster and it's around the corner! Thanks to the other reviews I knew that too. Love this app! There's a smaller dog side and a large dog side. Nothing is really taken care of but it kind of feels more like a dog park in the woods and our pup loves running through the woods so this was right up her alley. It was quiet and so pretty as the sun was coming through the trees. This is a straight run of the mill dog park no extras or frills. Simple fence and water for the dogs otherwise they pretty much left it. Again, I don't hate that because I really want my pup to run (she doesn't really play or the "toys"). Eventually a young girl came with her pups and Stella got to run even more. Just a nice fun morning exercise.

The park is very pet-friendly, with wide trails, open spaces, and plenty of room to walk, sniff, and explore. We love coming here in the winter months because it's much less crowded, which makes it perfect for letting our dog, Luna, really enjoy herself without a lot of distractions. She gets to explore at her own pace, and we get a peaceful, relaxing walk. Another nice bonus is the cost--it's only $2 per person to enter, which is very reasonable for how much space and how well-maintained the park is. We have the Charleston County Park Pass, so we don't pay anything to get in, making it an easy go-to spot for regular visits. The trails are well-kept, there's a great mix of wooded areas and open space, and it never feels overly busy during the cooler seasons. Highly recommend if you're looking for a quiet, dog-friendly park, especially in the fall and winter when the crowds thin out.

You first walk into a extremely large dog park with a lot of old growth trees and ground covering that is just grass pine needles or pine cones. The only thing it didn't have to be a five-star Park was water. And then I noticed a second gate and when I went through it there was an actual Lake!! And a dog park that goes all around it. I read down to find someone that complained, you know there's always one. But they complain that their dog got sick or bumps or something from drinking the water. They should probably let their dog drink something other than bottled water more often. It gets their defense system up and working. But the dogs were running and playing and if anybody ever wants to know what a five-star park looks like in a small area this is about the nicest one I've seen so far that isn't 50 plus acres!!

The park is of decent size and it does have a few agility items back over by the grass and it does have a little bit of grass, but mostly it is the Sandy dirt up by the AstroTurf.
