    Crab cake

We stopped here for lunch. I got the crab cake. It was phenomenal. The service was quick. No complaints

Wedge salad, those yummy yummy rolls and an amazing martini with hand, stuffed blue cheese olives

Came here for my birthday and was so happy when I left! My belly was full, the food was delicious. The only thing I can complain about was that it was super crowded and a little bit noisy.

Gratuity is completely based on the same bill.

The food and service was amazing and it is great place to eat. My issue was when the bill came. The gratuity 6%-8% higher on the Merchant copy vs the receipt. I don't know if they are pulling a scam or just the system was messed up. JUST BEWARE, check your bill if you attend to go there.

Chicken Panko coated with a creamy lemon and caper sauce, and drizzled parm. The other entree, the medium rare prime rib

Date night dinner with my wife on a Saturday was simply flawless. We were greeted by the pleasant hostess and immediately seated for our reservation. Amelia the waiter was knowledgeable and efficient. Our water and drinks along with the heated sweet rolls and honey infused butter were served up within 5 minutes. Rombaur Chardonnay and Macallan scotch 12 year old. A nice start. The chilled fresh iceberg wedge with bacon, tomato, and blue cheeses dressing was the best I have ever had. Full stopThe 16 pounce prime rib medium rare was thick and cooked perfectly. A little more flavor in the crust would have been nice but that's a nit pick. Au gratin potato with the entree dripping butter and cheese (yum). My chicken coated with panko and parm was perfect. Smoothly seated, served, and paid in just over an hour for $120. We now have a new local favorite!

    Ribeye and au gratin

Alexis was my server. She was fantastic. I ordered the French onion soup and the ribeye steak with au gratin potatoes. Best meal in Deer Park. The ambience is dimly lit and nice and cozy. Great for a party of one like me in business. I'm from California. This might be better than the steak restaurants in my area. Come here first! Don't dilly dally like I did. You won't be sorry.

Last night, it was fairly busy with the pre-Christmas rush, but service was swift and continuous throughout our meal. I tried the Beef Wellington, which was on their specials menu, and it was delicious. (I'm kicking myself that I forgot to take a picture!) Instead of what I'm used to, a sliced portion from a large tenderloin log, it was individually enclosed en croute, perfectly prepared medium rare, and a very good size portion of meat. I ended up eating half and sending the other half home with my friend, who had had just had dental work so wasn't able to fully indulge. My entrée came with soup or salad and a side, so I had the lemon cream of chicken (yummy!) and baked potato. I also had a cocktail - the house Manhattan, which is always good. I opted for an espresso martini instead of dessert, but I had a taste of my friend's dessert, some of the vanilla mousse from inside one of the chocolate tulips. So good! I still haven't taken my husband there, and I really need to do that. Maybe after the holidays when they're not as busy. Sounds like a plan!

I'm a big fan of this concept with comfortable seating in a spacious restaurant, plenty of parking,…read moregreat presentation, friendly service, and attractive decor. Compared to similar restaurants in this space, I prefer to go here with friends for its generally quieter atmosphere and overall vibe. Maybe the biggest complaint here is that the food preparation can be a bit inconsistent between dishes, and between different meat types. That is, that the output can range from delicious to somewhat average (and sometimes overcooked), depending on what you order. For example the birria was super flavorful and served with very crisp tacos and a delicious consomme, but the cilantro-lime rice and refried beans felt like an afterthought. The smoked pork belly quesadillas had a great flavor and just about the right amount of fattiness that was short of perfection due to the pork being overcooked. The tres leches cake also had a great creaminess and flavor to it, but parts of the cake weren't really soaked in the milk at all, which created an inconsistent experience - depending on where I took the bite. On everything I tried though, the presentation was excellent and there were enough great things about each dish to overcome some of the shortfalls. Overall though, I feel with improved execution on ensuring that all elements of the dishes are equally good in terms of texture and flavor -- there's a lot to love about Ancho & Agave. But even in its current state, it's still an enjoyable spot to take a group of friends for tasty food in an impressive looking spot.

I don't know what it is, but there is something distinct about them that separates them from other restaurants. Service was excellent where quality checks, keeping beverages filled, and reading when it was time to wrap it up came naturally. It is a very open style bistro which I love. I can see the vibe of this place during a dinner rush being a lot of fun (seems like this place can accommodate groups of all sizes). Ancho & Agave seems more Mexican-fusion than traditional-Mexican so for what it is, I'd say overall it's very good and would definitely return.

We were a little hesitant ordering the Hanjeongsik since it was our first time and the mains (buttered abalone and short rib patties) were unfamiliar to us. Our server described it as a type of meal that was served for the royal family and comes with several dishes. Theirs included kimchi pancakes, freshwater eel, smoked salmon, and more. I think the shrimp tempura could be more flavorful, but aside from that, the dishes were thoughtful and so good. The prices are also very reasonable for the quality, and the menu has great variety as well, from KBBQ to bento boxes. The restaurant itself is modern, while the food is cooked traditionally and packed with flavor. I would gladly drive from the city just to eat here again.

That said, one of our friends is a foodie like me and loved the menu with plenty of seafood options and he found it challenging to select something as it all looked so good. Last time it came with a little heat, but this time was a little bland for her but was still very flavorful (so somewhat confusing). FYI the lobster comes in two halved pieces w/ shell (a miniature lobster, not meal sized one) For me, the apps were not enough. I ordered Rice Élan Style w/ 4 Sea Scallops (Arborio rice, butter, sun-dried tomato, spinach, citrus blend, parmigiano reggiano). This was really good and the scallops were so flavorful. I also ordered the Lobster Mac & Cheese. Yes, I was hungry. It was a generous portion and includes chunks of lobster, not like other places where we are searching for where the lobster is hiding. Service was amazing as usual. I expect nothing less. Since it was my foodie friend's first time, they gave him a gift card for a free bruschetta app next time he comes in. It is dimly lit. Kyle was our server and he was excellent. His attitude was positive and he took time to converse but was also quick with his service. The server often makes the experience and Kyle did his part well! As for the food, we started with a half plate of grilled calamari which was more than enough for two people. The calamari was excellent tasting and perfectly cooked. The sauce was tasty and great for dipping your bread in (you get warm toasty bread at the start of your meal with a plate of seasoned olive oil for dipping). Next, we split an entree of Chicken Franchese which was more than enough food for two people...especially after the calamari. They split the meal into two plates in the kitchen, without us asking, which was really nice. The chicken was tender and flavorful. We substituted angel hair pasta and used the sauce from the chicken instead of marinara. It was excellent. We had some food left and Kyle boxed it carefully for us right at the table (I typically don't like when they take your food elsewhere to box it. I typically do it myself but this was good). Prices have crept up over the years but portions are huge and with service like we had, it makes it feel a bit more worth it. The restaurant is small and a bit cramped inside. There's typically an early crowd that thins out around 6:30 pm. You may have to wait a bit to be seated if you don't make reservations. Hopefully they move into a bigger spot in the mall they're in to make it a bit less packed. Two bathrooms are single occupant and clean but there can be a wait to get in. Gianni's is an excellent restaurant with a great team. You should check it out.
