drink was pretty but the carbonation has me feeling uncomfortable as i type this.

Visited tonite and had a very attentive server. I had specifically asked for alcoholi drinks that were not carbonated as I have issues with carbonation, i was assured my drink choice would not have carbonation but after the first sip - i could tell there was carbonation. As my friend was treating me to dinner i didn't want to make a big deal out of it and just mentioned to our server about the carbonation. She said that the rose has carbonation and i'm like 'didn't i ask for no carbonation drinks?'. I took a few sips and just couldn't pretend to drink it anymore. She didn't offer another drink or anything. Food was good and dessert was phenomenal. The candle on the cake was a great touch!

California Pizza Kitchen comes highly recommended after the lunch I recently had there. My mother and I went here for a lunch and we had a great experience. The meal started with bread and olive oil with herbs. The bread was fresh and tasted great. We both decided to get something off of the lunch specials menu. For $11.99 you get to choose between a half sandwich or seven inch pizza with a salad, or soup. We both had the Tomato Basil Bisque (With a touch of cream, topped with housemade garlic butter croutons.). This was delicious and tasted great on a cold day. I also had the seven inch Original BBQ Chicken Pizza (Created here in 1985. Our legendary BBQ sauce, smoked Gouda, red onions and fresh cilantro transform this original to iconic.). I always go for what a restaurant is known for. And I was not disappointed. This pizza is legendary for a reason, the flavors just pair very well together. My mother had the half Oven-Roasted Turkey + Brie Sandwich (With shaved Granny Smith apple, spring mix and housemade honey-mustard.). The sandwich was excellent and the Granny Smith apple added some crunch and sweetness to the dish. We had a coupon from our last visit. When you combine that with a sealed Thank You Card envelope with a special gift also from our last visit (which turned out to be worth ten percent off) a great deal became even better. The server we had was very welcoming and attentive. I highly recommend California Pizza Kitchen. Try it for lunch and you won't be disappointed.

Came here for a spontaneous dinner tonight with one of my friends. We were seated immediately despite a crowded parking lot, which was a nice surprise. The restaurant was pretty quiet , and it was quite relaxing. Our server was pleasant enough, and certainly attentive. But he wasn't the type that would encourage a return trip for me. Yes, I do go back to places based off the staff. Sometimes I'll even give a place with mediocre food a second chance just because the people were fun! Anyway... Our food was... fine. Yummy enough but the pizza definitely could have been hotter and it wasn't cut particularly well . Picky? Maybe. But details matter people! I will say, our dessert was delicious! I'm not typically the biggest fan of red velvet cake, however the pairing with white chocolate makes it extra delicious here. Definitely opt in for the ice cream because it ends up soaking into the cake a little bit as it melts and oh my yum! I would still go back, but it's just not somewhere I'm going to rush back to. If you're looking for a calm casual night and a good place for conversation definitely keep this on the list!

I love this place and location. First, bread on the table immediately with dipping oil is a great touch. We're often a little famished coming here from a long ride to visit my parents so that bread is a life saver. Next, a relatively Huge collection of mocktails on the menu. Which include calorie information! That's wild how awesome that is for us trying to stay away from alcohol but aren't trying to replace it with sugar bombs. And then let's talk about the pizza. We've enjoyed CPK pizza in our past but we tend to eat gluten free these days. So the gluten free pizza is gonna suck right? Nope! They've got a tremendous cauliflower crust you can get with any of their pizzas. Last night everyone enjoyed everything they got. My mom, whose been a fairly picky eater now, devoured her salmon. We are going to keep coming here as our goto meet up spot with the parents. And I'm excited to try their "take n bake" pizzas too for just $8! My only suggestion is that I wish they had their patio open last night with the heat lamps they have.

Chicken Fettuccine but no peppers, no spinach almost no chicken at all, no spinach fettuccine and the sauce was old ,lumpy and separated!
Larry R.

We are veterans of many visits but this one was awful. Asked for butter twice, never came. The bread had been precut laying out until it was hard and dried out. Asked for some that was fresh but never got it. The Chicken Fettuccine was supposed to have spinach fettuccine, green and yellow peppers and chicken. It came plain Fettuccine and no peppers. The sauce was separated and lumpy. And very little, tiny cubes of chicken. All this for $20.00. Politely mentioned to the server, but no apologies. Compare my pictures with the menu! I no longer will recommend CPK.

Why does Long Grove always feel like some magical far away place when it's really much closer to me…read morethan most places I go? It's probably because of spots like this. When my yelp friends check-in places I always take a peek and add the interesting stuff to my massive and unorganized list of anything and everything I could ever want to try... this place popped up a few times, and I do love good pastries, so I had to make a trip. I say pastries but what really sold me was the pizza slice a buddy got, a savory excuse always helps. I got there before the dinner rush. I know that because it was calm when I got in line, though the line was full. When I left the place was crowded. There are actually 2 lines. One for savory and one for sweet. So like I said, I was here for that pizza slice... and I got it. I'm not sure if they make more throughout the day but there were just a few slices left that I could see. Score! But I do want to say that the more filling pasta dishes and such look AMAZING. I saw gorgonzola garlic bread and had to try that as well... and an arancini. Everything really looked so good, I wanted it all. It's a good thing I love bread because I ate a lot of it here! Great flavor and texture on the garlic bread, I love the little funk from the cheese. Arancini was fried up nicely and didn't retain excess oil. The slice is really good. It's a fair warning that it's about 90% bread, but I understand they make their own dough here and it shows. The crust is so crispy and airy, it's a nice experience. Next up, dessert. I grabbed a Nutella croissant and some gelato, both delicious! The gelato was rich and creamy. The croissant, which they fill to order with your choice of flavors, is another flex on how good their dough and bread baking skills are. Perfect texture, no notes. Would and will eat again. Amazing atmosphere that feels like a quick vacation, and outdoor tables perfect for the warm season. Friendly and inviting staff as well, they tried to sell me on the pear flavor gelato. Maybe next time. This is a not so hidden gem of a spot and a must try for bread lovers! I'll be back soon for pasta and more!

Most every dish was very dry or doughy. The cannoli's were fried too hard almost like egg rolls. We didn't realize till we got home that our daughter's dessert was missing after verifying three times with the staff what we ordered. If you're looking for Italian food skip this place. *** Almost forgot. Get rid of the young kids that are servers. They have no idea what they're doing. They seem very confused. Food was not brought out in a timely manner and Luke warm when we received it. Also re organize how you check out it can be very confusing with the impatient and hot headed customers that Dine there.

I'm a big fan of this concept with comfortable seating in a spacious restaurant, plenty of parking,…read moregreat presentation, friendly service, and attractive decor. Compared to similar restaurants in this space, I prefer to go here with friends for its generally quieter atmosphere and overall vibe. Maybe the biggest complaint here is that the food preparation can be a bit inconsistent between dishes, and between different meat types. That is, that the output can range from delicious to somewhat average (and sometimes overcooked), depending on what you order. For example the birria was super flavorful and served with very crisp tacos and a delicious consomme, but the cilantro-lime rice and refried beans felt like an afterthought. The smoked pork belly quesadillas had a great flavor and just about the right amount of fattiness that was short of perfection due to the pork being overcooked. The tres leches cake also had a great creaminess and flavor to it, but parts of the cake weren't really soaked in the milk at all, which created an inconsistent experience - depending on where I took the bite. On everything I tried though, the presentation was excellent and there were enough great things about each dish to overcome some of the shortfalls. Overall though, I feel with improved execution on ensuring that all elements of the dishes are equally good in terms of texture and flavor -- there's a lot to love about Ancho & Agave. But even in its current state, it's still an enjoyable spot to take a group of friends for tasty food in an impressive looking spot.

I don't know what it is, but there is something distinct about them that separates them from other restaurants. Service was excellent where quality checks, keeping beverages filled, and reading when it was time to wrap it up came naturally. It is a very open style bistro which I love. I can see the vibe of this place during a dinner rush being a lot of fun (seems like this place can accommodate groups of all sizes). Ancho & Agave seems more Mexican-fusion than traditional-Mexican so for what it is, I'd say overall it's very good and would definitely return.

When we arrived, we didn't have a reservation, and it was before dinner time. So we got seated right away. The presentation of the raw meat was theatrical in a way - they came in a platter with dry ice. The amount was also generous. Our wait staff was very attentive. We were a little hesitant ordering the Hanjeongsik since it was our first time and the mains (buttered abalone and short rib patties) were unfamiliar to us. Our server described it as a type of meal that was served for the royal family and comes with several dishes. Theirs included kimchi pancakes, freshwater eel, smoked salmon, and more. I think the shrimp tempura could be more flavorful, but aside from that, the dishes were thoughtful and so good. The prices are also very reasonable for the quality, and the menu has great variety as well, from KBBQ to bento boxes. The restaurant itself is modern, while the food is cooked traditionally and packed with flavor. I would gladly drive from the city just to eat here again.
