They also tied in our downspouts to separate solid PVC pipes. Finally, they installed surface drains and poured new patio cement. For the cement, they offered a wide variety of colors. During the bidding / quote process, Jeremy was courteous and took the time to clearly explain different options. He responded promptly to follow-up questions. The on-site crew was great with Miguel and Lazaro leading the team. This was a difficult project requiring a lot of manual work as a hillside made it impossible to bring down heavy machinery for digging the trenches or hauling out the old asphalt and concrete. Nevertheless, they completed the project in two weeks including working a Saturday. In addition, we had them pour a concrete slab in a basement crawl space. We only asked for a basic slab. They went above and beyond by building out a small retaining wall at its back and tied it into the foundation with rebar.

They were so responsive whenever we had questions or requests. A large team showed up every day and they worked so fast and with such high quality. They replaced a significant amount of the foundation, put in a French drain and sump pump, and replaced our basement door, and the work took approximately six weeks, exactly what they expected it would. Who has ever heard of a construction project finishing on time?? The whole team was incredibly easy to work with from start to finish. And the work they did was really beautiful, which is a weird thing to say about a foundation and retrofitting, but it's true. It looks great! I can sleep so much better at night knowing our house is on secure footing again. And for all that, they charged a very reasonable price. Once we decided, working with Gina in the office and Bill to get the details of the plan finalized was easy, we got our dates locked in, and on the scheduled days Antonio and crew showed up on time and cranked through the job. Everything was finished exactly to the plan Bill had drawn up, including the interface to the existing parts of the system we wanted to keep. And the crawlspace looks incredible - truly a major upgrade to our home. Looking forward to a rainy season finally not worrying about it!

We hired Bay Area Moisture Control to install a sump pump with trenching to address standing water…read moreunder the house. On the positive side, the crew (Antonio) was punctual, easy to work with, and efficient. The whole job took 3.5 hours. The issue came with the placement of the sump pump discharge location. I had talked to their sales lead (Bill) about having the water be discharged to the street where there is a storm drain. Instead, the sump pump "pop up" was placed 8 feet from the front of the house, way too close. Water can flow back under the house, defeating the purpose of the sump pump entirely. When I called Bill during the job to talk about our options, he dismissed our concerns and immediately pointed to the contract, implying that this was our fault because we signed the contract. In reviewing the contract, the design was completely unclear about where the sump pump would exit water. Bill continued to skirt the fact that that we had discussed pumping water to the street, and instead, he baked a different design into the contract with unclear markings. We are dissatisfied with the poor communication, but even more so, the lack of accountability from the company. If you hire this company, just a word of caution to walk through the design with them before signing and make sure you're on the same page about everything. We are going to have to bring someone else out to fix the issue. One more thing ... I was flabbergasted that when talking to Bill on the phone about the iffy sump pump discharge location, Bill was trying to upsell me on encapsulation! Read the room, dude.
