Before and after of a Faux Garage door.
E N.

Marco and team was professional, timely, had clear communication and delivered a great work product! Marco was the first to respond to my yelp outreach - I found that he was courteous and gave me an honest and fair quote. We communicated through texts and was able to agree on date, time, and work to be done. We hired him to remove an old Faux Garage Door that had been falling apart with paint chipping from years of sun/outdoor exposure. We asked him to replicate the design and he was able to do it with no issues! He scheduled the date with us ahead of time (roughly one week out) came on time and finished within one day. We are extremely happy with the outcome! I will definately call Marco again if we have more work for him!

Two-post pergola on hill behind house.

1. My realtor suggested adding a two post pergola might be a good way to highlight the terraced stairs I had previously installed on the hill behind my house. I used yelp to call for estimates by providing a photo of the property and a Google photo of the pergola design I wished. I could not have been more pleased with Marco. After receiving the design for my two post pergola Marco promptly provided me with a quote which was very reasonable. He completed the job in three days. He and his workman were prompt, very professional and courteous... cleaning up the work area after each day. The pergola is well constructed and he followed my Google photo exactly. I could not be happier. I would recommend Marco and his team without hesitation. 2. In the course of fixing my house up to sell I am sorting through everything and ended up with large piles of "junk" that needed to be hauled away. I did a yelp search and got quotes by providing hauling services with photos. As you will see from my previous review I had Marco on my property constructing a two post pergola. The quote he gave me on the hauling was very reasonable. He has a trailer that is so large he was able to haul everything in one load. His crew worked quickly, efficiently and followed my directions. I plan to use Marco for future jobs.

Master bathroom before

I called Marco after I found him on Yelp. He responded right away and show up on time. Marco was one of 5 others estimates I was reviewing. The hardest part is always choosing and I'm really happy I picked Marco. Marco basically gutted two bathrooms and a kitchen, and painted the entire interior of my rental house in Hayward. He also did other minor things that came up and these guys do a great job. The whole project took longer than estimated, but totally worth it. Here are some pictures I took. I recommend Marco for any kind of remodel project. These guys are very capable and on time. I am waiting for summer to bring Marco back and paint the exterior. They did an amazing job painting.

Marco was responsive, arrived in time and did a great job. The price seems fair for the amount of time he spent in our home.

After recently expanding our driveway with pavers, we needed to have the concrete opening where the…read moresidewalk meets the street widened to match the new driveway width. Lamata Concrete proved to be the perfect partner for this because the 1) got back to me the quickest, 2) were not deterred by the relatively small size of the job, 3) they were able to fit us into their schedule within a week, 4) they were very price competitive, 5) they communicated very well, 6) and the executed the project quickly and flawlessly (showed up when they said they would and did quality work). I would highly recommend them!

I would have given ZERO stars. Don't trust their overall YELP rating. I made that mistake. I feel…read morethe finished work (driveway, pathways, and wall) are reasonably acceptable. This is ONLY because we checked daily work and instructed them to fix mistakes and sloppy work. They spent a lot of their time redoing what should have been completed right the first time. Daily progress (or lack there of) showed us that the owner/project manager (Tevita/Mata) is not a good project manager nor that he gave his crew clear direction on this project. The process after contract signing was horrible...not at all professional. The project took much longer than Tevita initially quoted (over 2 months vs the 2 weeks he originally told us). This resulted in change orders and cost overruns. He also tried to charge me to fix their breakage/mistakes/errors (e.g., fixing the sidewalk his workers broke). His crew was not respectful of our property (we had to live with their mess...it's not a vacant lot). They did not regularly clean up the work site nor organize equipment and materials left onsite. Seeing their lunch garbage (cans, bottles, wrappers, etc.) at the end of their workday was common. This continued even after repeated complaints to Tevita and to his crew. No one on site could to provide straight answers as to that day's work or when specific project goals would be completed. Whenever I would spoke with him, Tevita made excuses, provided misinformation, denied deliverables he previously promised, and deflected from answering direct questions. He has a habit of talking over the customer when asked questions he doesn't like. On at least one occasion, he raised his voice and started yelling to avoid answering questions. If it was not in writing, he'd say it wasn't what we discussed. I have never had such issues when working with professional/reputable companies. Tevita and his crew failed to meet every single deliverable date he set. I found him very difficult to work with. I feel that he does not show proper respect to the customer. Instead he appears to think that the customer, the person paying him, should accept subpar work. I suspect that he may also not fully understand the processes involved with the work being performed. I feel that Tevita and Lamata Concrete are not professional. They didn't use professional equipment and they didn't manage the job site or their onsite work time professionally. Their workers typically started late morning and were gone by early afternoon. Lamata Concrete has major logistical problems. They couldn't get an adequately-sized crew or required materials to the job site at the start of any given day, typically interrupting workflow for hours to go fetch supplies. Had they staged materials and tools at the worksite (where there was ample area to store all materials needed for the entire project) and had his crew worked a full 8 hours per day at the job site, I believe they could have finished weeks ago. They are SLOW...3 weeks for a stamped concrete driveway and pathways. I definitely CANNOT recommend them for a cinder block wall. It took way too long (over 2 months) to complete. I feel like they have never built this type of wall. I regret hiring Lamata Concrete. I CANNOT recommend Lamata Concrete nor would I use them again. They were such a hassle to work with compared to the many other professional/reputable companies I have hired. My opinion...take their negative YELP reviews seriously and ask for references and talk to those references. Tevita's response is a great example of how he makes excuses, provides misinformation, denies promised deliverables, and deflects from addressing the real issue. I find it a bit childish and very unprofessional.

After reading all the positive reviews, I called Leyva Concrete and spoke with Alfredo. He came out, looked at the space and we talked through the process. I made adjustments to the original scope of work, and Alfredo was super-accommodating. His team finished the excavation work that I started, then prepped for the concrete pour. These guys know exactly what they're doing, taking care with the surface finishing and all the cleanup. True craftsmen. I'm so glad I went with the professionals. They're prompt, the communication is great and quality of work is exceptional. Alfredo and this Team at Leyva Concrete are truly amazing!

They also tied in our downspouts to separate solid PVC pipes. Finally, they installed surface drains and poured new patio cement. For the cement, they offered a wide variety of colors. During the bidding / quote process, Jeremy was courteous and took the time to clearly explain different options. He responded promptly to follow-up questions. The on-site crew was great with Miguel and Lazaro leading the team. This was a difficult project requiring a lot of manual work as a hillside made it impossible to bring down heavy machinery for digging the trenches or hauling out the old asphalt and concrete. Nevertheless, they completed the project in two weeks including working a Saturday. In addition, we had them pour a concrete slab in a basement crawl space. We only asked for a basic slab. They went above and beyond by building out a small retaining wall at its back and tied it into the foundation with rebar.

They were so responsive whenever we had questions or requests. A large team showed up every day and they worked so fast and with such high quality. They replaced a significant amount of the foundation, put in a French drain and sump pump, and replaced our basement door, and the work took approximately six weeks, exactly what they expected it would. Who has ever heard of a construction project finishing on time?? The whole team was incredibly easy to work with from start to finish. And the work they did was really beautiful, which is a weird thing to say about a foundation and retrofitting, but it's true. It looks great! I can sleep so much better at night knowing our house is on secure footing again. And for all that, they charged a very reasonable price. We are so grateful we were able to hire them and would work with them again without a second thought.
