I was in need of a good paint job for the house. I saw Olson's painting around my neighborhood and decided to give them a call. Myron came on time was very thorough and extremely nice. Estimate was very competitive and I had a good feeling about the work. I wasn't let down, his crew came and went above and beyond everyday. Not only did they do an amazing job they were incredibly nice and so thoughtful. Little things like keeping the area clean and tidy, making the area liveable even if it was only for a couple hours before they came back. Even pulling out and in our trash cans. They treated our house as theirs. Not to mention the lines were clean and everything turned out exactly how we envisioned. 10/10 would recommend! read more

We had a great experience. We got three quotes for my dad's cottage, and I originally assumed Olson's would be the most expensive because they were the most reputable of the companies we considered. In fact their quote was in the middle, close to the lowest bid, and they included the option to resurface the stucco for a reasonable additional price. Prior to their job, the house had messed up stucco and very old peeling paint -now the exterior looks close to perfect. Olson was also easy to communicate with, and tactfully accommodated my dad's idiosyncratic requests about prepping technique. They exactly matched the trim color to the new windows, and were able to start and finish within a couple weeks of providing their original quote. We would definitely use them again. read more

There's a reason Olson Painting is trusted with some of the most ornate and recognizable Victorians in town. Myron didn't ask me for a review and I don't tend to post online feedback but there are few quality craftsman around these days -- and this crew deserves a shout-out. My project involved specialized work on a distinctive historic structure. I first hired Myron and his crew 20 years ago to paint my Victorian home and it still looks great today. I wanted to hire Myron again for a second project, but it wasn't in my budget at the time, so I went with "the other guy" nine years ago. Big mistake. This summer, I hired Olson Painting to "repaint" and do the job right. There's really not a more truer way to say this: you get what you pay for. The difference between a good paint job and an exceptional one is worth the investment when you consider its longevity: the prep and properly sealed joints on century old siding, repair of deteriorated glazing compound on the windows, and consistent application with transitions. Myron and his crew are trustworthy, patient, meticulous, and they take no short cuts with getting those details right. I absolutely recommend hiring Olson's Painting for your next paint job! read more

We concur with all the other 5-star reviewers; Olson's just finished painting our entire stucco house--trim, upper deck floors, eaves, sills, doors. A big fairly complex job: Myron estimated it would take three weeks for a 4 person crew, and he was right on target. We couldn't be happier with the result: the crew was terrific--very professional, highly skilled, courteous, and responsive to our needs, right down to the minute details. We paid a bit more than other painting estimates because besides just painting we also wanted the old rough stucco replaced with a smoother style of stucco work and some fixes to any rotting pieces of wood trim they found. The result more than met expectations. Top quality work all 'round. Ours looks like a new house! Every part of the job worked smoothly and they managed to stay on schedule even with a few days of rain to deal with. Highly recommended. read more

We hired Olson's painting for an entire refresh of our interior. Besides fresh paint, we wanted to get rid of the plastered , texture walls (and ceilings). And wow, the team delivered beyond my expectations! The craftsmanship and quality of the work was top notch. The results are so far beyond what I could imagine. This was an extraordinary amount of work - so much labor. No corners were cut , nothing but 110%. I highly recommend Olson's for your projects Three years ago we used them for painting our exterior- another amazing job with stellar results. The exterior still looks new three years later. It's such a joy to come home to a house that is so beautiful and comfortable. Thanks Myron and team! read more

We hired Olson's painting to repaint the majority of our home, and we can't say enough good things. Myron's quote was reasonable and we felt confidence in him as we were deciding what company to go with. His crew was extremely professional and exceeded expectations in all areas from start to finish. We plan to use Olson's painting again for future painting projects. We are extremely happy with the end result. Thank you Myron and team! read more

From the very first day work started on our 1914 Craftsman to "the big reveal," Olson's Painting made the experience of a huge-scale project feel almost weightless. Here are the high-level highlights for those who don't want to read an essay -- and don't forget to check out my photos 1. AMAZING crew: Antonio, Julio and David were respectful, funny and they worked their asses off on a daily basis. They never failed to clean up after themselves and were always there early in the morning to start work. I miss them! 2. RESPECT for our neighbors. The crew talked to our neighbors about the job and made sure tarps were placed strategically to avoid any sort of spillage or debris entering the adjacent yards. 3. QUALITY. From the way they showed us the paint samples on the house to the meticulous details (they painted our hose nozzle and water meter to match the house), everything was done so very professionally. 4. STREET CRED: I mean this quite literally. I can't count how many people in my neighborhood have come over to say how great the house looks. Some of them even sought out the crew while the job was in process to shake their hands! 5. PRICE : Olson's came in a bit higher on the price side than the other bids we received; however, I knew from the get-go that the quality and the craftsmanship were worth every single penny. Every shingle was assessed for wear and tear, and the ones that didn't make the cut were replaced. Between the attention to detail and everything I mentioned above, I would recommend Olson's in a heartbeat (and indeed I have)! Thank you, Myron and crew! read more

Five stars all around for Olson's! Had bookmarked Olson's for years and saw another house in the neighborhood that had used them for a fairly recent exterior paint job. The glowing reviews are well-deserved. Myron and his crew did a fabulous job from start to finish all within the estimated time frame of a week. This included power washing, extensive prepping and sanding, priming, applying two coats to the stucco, trim, and floor, and touch-ups after the protective layers were removed for both the house and garage. Their attention to detail is unparalleled, which greatly impressed me. You get what you pay for--a quality paint job that should last for years to come. Truly appreciated the A+ customer service--they want their clients to be happy. Thank you so much Myron and crew! read more

Olson's did an incredible job painting the exterior of our 1931 house in Alameda. Their attention to detail is impeccable and they do the job properly. They spent more time on prep (window putty glazing, sanding, epoxy filler, priming) than many painters spend on a full job from start to finish. And it shows! The crew was friendly and communicative. And the job site was cleaned up very thoroughly every day, which was much appreciated with little kids in our house. Would definitely work with Olson's Painting again! read more

Olsen's painting. I cannot say enough good things about Olsen's Painting, After meeting with Myron, the owner, I felt completely confident that they would do a good job for us. Then on the scheduled day Jimmy and his crew showed up and went to work. They were very methodical. They paid attention to every little detail. They were all very polite and made sure they did not damage existing landscaping. They repaired all the dry rot and were quiet, always on time and they cleaned up every night. I give them high marks. read more

As most people these days seem quite interested in keywords, I have three for Myron Olson and his company, Olson's Painting: integrity, expertise, professionalism. As a small business owner, I believe others in the trade would do well to study this company. It represents the antithesis of what I have generally encountered in construction, home repair and maintenance. It has been many years since I had my home painted and my extremely large decking sealed. In fact, the last paint job marked the conclusion of major repairs following the Loma Prieta earthquake of 1989. Obviously, the wooden structure was clearly in need. As I knew that this project would be costly, I did not enter into it with abandon. I poured over reviews on Angies's List, Yelp and other sources as well as asking just about any local homeowner I know. Then came the inquiry calls and emails to painting contractors. Wow, what a mixed bag showed up despite high marks from reviewers! My initial contact with Myron Olson, the owner, was very promising. His demeanor and concise correspondence set him aside from perhaps two other painting contractors. One had been equally positive, including his visit. Then he ignored my emails and phone calls. I suppose he didn't need the work. Myron came over promptly and assessed the situation. His explanation of my home's condition (not as bad as I thought) and the processes that would be necessary to restore it to its original condition were thorough and complete. No other contractor provided such details. Then I held my breath, waiting for the estimate. Frankly, I was pretty frightened that it would be far more than the others. What a surprise! Mr. Olson's bid came in right in the middle. Considering the extent of work and the quality of materials that he proposed, in fact it calculated out to be the lowest. The success of a paint job depends most of all upon preparation of surfaces. This is where Omar's crew hit it out of the park. All of the extensive prep work was done completely respectful of my organic gardens and even my working beehive. Wood was smoothed, filled, every metal surface rustproofed, and more, even before the pre-primer was applied. The older redwood deck was cleaned respectfully without raising the grain. Paint application, and I'm talking pre-primer, tinted primer, and two coats of exterior paint, was done carefully and the resulting finish is excellent. Myron and I explored deck sealer stains together and I opted for an environmentally sound product that the crew had not done before. There were a few blips along the way, but the resulting deck is better than I had anticipated. In addition, some boards were replaced on the railing in an excellent manner. Myron Olson genuinely cares about the quality of work, the customer's state of mind, and his crew of regulars. Never before have I encountered an owner/boss who is more calm, collected, and engaged in the project. How often do you see a company owner get down on his hands and knees in serious summer heat with a bucket and scrub-brush? I am so delighted with the overall experience with Myron Olson and Olson's Painting, that I've already started saving up for interior painting! Thank you, Myron, Omar, and the rest of the crew. You've made this old geezer a very happy homeowner. read more

Myron and his team did an amazing job on the exterior of my home in Alameda. My house was built in 1927 and is on the Alameda historical registry so it was important to me (and the city) that the job be of the utmost quality. The price was competitive and the quality far exceeded my neighbors who paid much more than me. I was so happy with Myron and his team that I recommended him to my boss who has a multi-million dollar home on the bay in Marin and the job was once again excellent. I could not be happier with the outcome. Greg W. read more

Olson's painting did a fantastic job on my house. Everything they promised, they delivered. The painters showed up on time, were very courteous and professional, completed the job under the estimated time, cleaned up when they finished, and the paint job looks exactly like I hoped it would! They are even coming back to help us install the new house numbers, at no charge. I highly recommend them. Hopefully we won't need a new paint job for 10+ years, but when we do, I will definitely be calling Olson's again! read more

We did not end up working with Olson's Painting. However, they get 5 stars for promptly responding to my inquiry, and recommending what appears to be another reputable business that specializes in the woodworking that I need. This in contrast to several other companies that either did not respond or were annoyed. Thank you! read more

Olson's provided some of the best services I have had in the past years from any service provider. They were very responsive to our request for a quote and providing service. Our dad's home is an older victorian and in need of repairs. Olson's crew did a wonderful job and took their time to make sure it was done just right! Their price was very reasonable and we truly received top-rate service! I would hire them again for any other painting needs that arise. read more

Olson's Painting just finished painting our house; it's been transformed and looks fantastic! I got three bids on the job and they were all in the same price range, but Myron went the extra step to point out things they'd fix for us before they started painting: strip the caulking between the wood siding (Myron said this would trapped moisture in the wood), cut off a leftover piece of conduit and patch the hole, remove our old house numbers, and patch some gorged wood in the back. Olson's literally spent 75% of the time prepping the house to paint, and then the other 25% painting. This is the sign of quality work done right in my opinion. They also cleaned up their work each day before they left--even after I told them not to bother if it saved them time. These guys are true professionals. I'm planning on using Olson's again to paint our kitchen in the fall. read more

Myron's crew painted my house in Kensington about a year ago, and I'm 100% satisfied. This is my first house, and it was the first time it needed repainting, so I needed guidance. Myron was very clear & courteous in explaining and recommending options. His quotation was in the middle of the several quotations I got, but, unlike some of the others, he had specified multiple coats of top-grade paint in addition to detailed treatments for window frames, trim, stucco, etc. The crew, Omar supervising, were also courteous, performed the work on time, did excellent daily clean-up. I wouldn't know anything about their technique, but my good friend and next door neighbor, who has maintained his house beautifully for 50 years and knows painting and paint contractors - and doesn't pull his punches on contractors - was highly complimentary about the work the crew were doing. They performed several extras at no charge, and the finished work was craftsman-like. It was done on budget, and my house looks beautiful. read more

I recommend heartily Olson's Painting for whatever the painting job, no matter how challenging. The company's principal, Myron Olson, gave us the most competitive bid and personally provided exemplary service before, during, and after finishing the job. His exceptional foreman and crew accommodated the many needs and desires of 40 homeowners in our condo association with heart as well as skill as they completed the job in a timely manner -- given the weather -- and on budget. Ours was a challenging job! For openers, Clarewood Townhouse Association in Oakland is comprised of 40 condos, a clubhouse and several out buildings. It is located in an urban forest with a great deal of greenery among the trees on a site with a creek cascading through a deep ravine which runs through the middle...a place lovely to look at and live in, but a real headache to paint. Olson's foreman and crew went above and beyond their contract in delivering exemplary service. A few of many examples are: Completing the job timely by working Saturdays to make up time lost to a number of delays due to rain; Identifying areas of dry rot for repair before painting affected structures; Remediating rust from fencing and other metal surfaces before painting; Removing old paint at the request of several homeowners (at no cost) upon completion of the job. The crew power-washed, pre-primed, primed, and meticulously painted the various structures that make up Clarewood Town Homes despite steep slopes, uneven terrain, and daunting heights. They overcame all those physical challenges and more. And Clarewood's homes are far from cookie-cutter in design. Each 2-3 family unit is housed in a separate building. Each building has its own special design features. The exterior paint scheme calls for three different shades of paint in patterns that vary from building to building. Walls are clad in stucco, shingles and/or wood shakes. In addition, homeowners were given a choice of seven different colors for their front door. Painters managed to schedule the painting of doors at the convenience of each homeowner. The Clarewood Townhouse Association recommends Olson's Painting without reservation. read more

It feels great to be writing a glowing review for a job well done. Olson's Painting deserves high praise for their overall professionalism. I own a condo in a 2 unit building built in 1928, located in the Inner Mission district of San Francisco. My upstairs neighbors and I found Olson's Painting on Angie's List last spring when we were looking for estimates on painting the exterior of our building. Of the 3 estimates we got for the job, Myron Olson's was the most reasonable. His estimate of what needed to be done and the rationale for how it should be done was comparable to the other 2 estimates we had gotten. He explained to our satisfaction all that the job would entail. His communication with us was always timely and clear. When the work actually began, I was impressed by the thoroughness of the prep work, and by the courtesy, punctuality, and neatness of the crew. Omar, the job foreman, and his crew were skillful, and obviously took pride in their work. They were considerate and cleaned up the job site at the end of each work day, being careful to stack their equipment neatly out of the way. They repaired my balcony floor and railing, and procured and installed a new door to our alley entrance at our request, and did a fantastic job. They also indulged our indecision about how to paint the egg and dart trim with the colors we had chosen, and painted test strips of the different options so we could decide. Painting our building was a big job, and they handled it beautifully. We have had so many compliments from neighbors, friends, and passersby since the house was painted! We are very happy with Olson's Painting and our colorful new exterior. I HIGHLY recommend Olson's Painting! read more

Olson's Painting - Painters Near Me

I wholeheartedly endorse Olson's Painting. We contracted with owner, Myron Olson, three years ago to paint our Victorian in Alameda. Not only does Olson provide a color consultant but his crew were respectful, responsive and responsible. They showed up on time and cleaned up each day and, of course, the job was beautifully done. What sets Olson's apart from other painters is their 3 year warranty. Myron has sent over a crew every year since the original work was completed to touch-up where needed. Never were we asked to pay extra for this service. We are super pleased with Olson's Painting...worth every penny of our original outlay. read more

Olson did a fantastic job restoring by 137 year-old Queen Ann Victorian. They spent weeks removing old paint and revealing hidden details. Then they carefully restored the surfaces before artistically painting. I highly recommend them as the best in class for restoring beautiful old buildings. read more

Hired Olson's Painting for exterior painting of my 3 story 1905 redwood siding home. Home not painted for 9 years so needed extensive prep, including two areas of dry rotted siding that needed to be replaced. Scaffolding was needed for 2 sides of the house, power washing was done in advance to allow max time for drying, lead abatement procedures were followed, thorough prep was performed - scraping, sanding, vacuuming before a full coat of tinted primer was applied. The final painting was 2 full coats on the body and trim with a 3rd accent color applied in selected areas. Superlative is the best word to describe the execution of this project from start to finish! I was anxious about engaging a company that would provide a long-lasting, quality job. Myron Olson was most obliging in supplying references for jobs that had been completed 4 to 6 years before. All folks contacted responded enthusiastically and the homes we inspected were in beautiful condition. The experience we had with Myron Olson and his crew confirms that of others. Myron was always cordial, responsive to our questions and concerns, and immediately in contact with the foreman of the crew when something came up. He was quite creative about getting a color match from a house I had admired for years. The match was perfect. The 5 man crew worked energetically for 14 long days. They always arrived on time, were careful to begin the noisy work during prep after 8 am, always cleaned up completely each evening, were courteous, friendly and always helpful with insuring our ease of coming and going. The foreman of the crew took great pride in his work and his attitude carried over to his entire crew. The prep work was quite arduous and extensive and took place during one of our fall heat waves with temperatures up to 90. None of this slowed the crew down. Great care was given to protecting all areas during power washing, prepping and painting. The power wash crew responded to our concerns about possible water leaking and applied plastic sheeting where necessary. The painting crew used tape and plastic sheeting to protect the roof and any area not being painted. There was no stray paint on the roof, windows or walkways when the job was finished. The carpentry work was skillfully executed so as not to reveal that siding replacement had been done. Attention was given to every detail as the work came to an end - all hardware removed for painting was replaced, items moved so work equipment and materials could be stored during the project were returned to their original places, and work areas where equipment was stored overnight were left cleaner than when they began. Because there wasn't room for all their ladders inside the basement these were stored in the back yard. The yard was a bit distressed by the end of the project, but there was little that could be done about this. I couldn't be more enthusiastic about the work ethic and quality of work of Olson's Painting. The cost of the job was highly competitive and worth every penny. I will definitely engage this company again. read more

Olson's Painting - beautiful "new" home with proud crew - Painters Near Me

Myron and his team did an amazing job painting our Visiting Angels offices. The employees really enjoyed returning to a beautiful space that was freshened up. SEPTEMBER 2016 UPDATE Seven years on, most of my paint still looks great. But there are parts of my house that get hammered by the weather. It was time to spruce things up. My work schedule and a big interruption for some deck repair made this a logistical nightmare. By all rights, it should have been MY nightmare. But Olson's offered unbelievable flexibility, and everything got done just as fast as my schedule would permit. The painters were professionals. Not just the painters in part, but managing the environment (moving things around, avoiding hazards...), keeping clean, and being pleasant to work with. Five more stars. And when the interior needs paint, we'll go for five more. Thanks. ORIGINAL JULY 2009 REVIEW I was a 'fraidy cat. My house needed painting outside. Surely, I could put off this unpleasant task. I could move...and realize all the unrealized depreciation on my house? I could put it off until I die...though actuarial tables still project that event beyond two weeks from next Thursday, and who'd want to leave the trouble to his heirs. I could hope that the weeds grow high enough to obscure the entire dwelling...now we're talking! No, gotta get the place painted. Ugh. Lots of money, could go on for months, in court over a crappy job, massive disruption to living space, paint splattered everywhere. Okay, suck it up, Unk. Heard the Yelps, and called Olson. So how'd it go? Well, the price was reasonable, the job was done correctly, neatly, quickly and on-time. And everyone involved - scaffolders, painters and crew - was cool. No beefs, no complaints and the old homestead looks spank! It was kinda like magic. Transform a few Benjamins into a new paint job with NO SIDE EFFECTS. Just, presto!, new paint. And ain't that what it's supposed to be all about. They paint and the cure 'fraidy cat-tedness too. read more

Checked Olson's Star rating and it's already a 5 so I almost didn't write this review. (I'm not a "Yelper') Writing it for 2 reasons. 1st they did a fantastic job on my house and 2nd the revieww below that indicated that they lacked attention to details couldn't be further from tmy experience. I received 3 bids from local painters and untimately went Olson's not based on price (they were not the cheapest) but because I could tell from the estimate and walking the property with Myron that the scope and detail of their work was going to be very through. Prep work was outstanding. I have a tool shed attached to my detached garage that looks like it barely survived WWII. Needed to be torn town so didn't give it much thought. To my surprise I came home and found that they got it looking like new! Now I feel like I have to get a new lawn mower and tools just to put in my brand new shed! I think I was fairly prepared for the work having picked out my colors (stolen with permission for a neighbor around the corner) but couldn't visualize small details like whether to use the accent or trim color on railings etc. Myron's team worked patiently with me and my partner throughout the project and often times painted both colors on so that we could look at it for a day in order to decide. Every day I'd leave for work at 8 am and the the crew was already started and I'd return at 5:30-6 and they'd still be working. They'd stop with just enough time to clean up the yard and materials before it got dark. I would recommend to anyone looking for a painter to read the great reviews and believe them. You'll won't be disappointed! read more

Myron missed his first call back to me but after my second call he did call back so I'm glad I persisted. Very Very good painters. Ususally when you get a bid, you hope for the best. The rooms I needed done were difficult but with Olson's abilitys to texturize....this really helped fix my poor quality walls. They can sheetrock, texture, paint and even do minor electrical so I say yes use them. Everything was done professionally at what I thought was a great price. Myron and his crew are hard workers. Thats my 5 star yelp rating. read more

I'm writing this review a year after Olsen's painting did a great job on our 1920 Oakland bungalow, and garage. The crew was courteous, neat, and hardworking. The house and garage are old, but after scraping (and cleaning) all of the legacy paint away, they were able to build up a new, smoother base. The end result looks great and seamless, even after a year of typical Bay Area earth micro-movements and fluctuating weather. Myron himself was responsive and provided recommendations on the color scheme. We're proud of the final result. read more

Great work. Competitive quote. 1yr later, still happy with how things look.

Highly recommend Myron and his crew for exterior paint work. Myron and I had been in communication for a year to get our job scheduled. He was extremely patient in answering our questions as we worked to get HOA approval to move forward. Once his team was onsite, they were very courteous and professional and open to change requests to ensure all the unit owners were happy with the outcome. Our job was completed in the estimated timeframe and close to budget. Mryon was also responsive to sending his crew back for touch ups and the house looks fantastic! It also helps that Olson's offers a warranty on their work. Overall, very satisfied! read more

Olson's painted my house to prepare it for sale. They did interior and exterior including the basement, garage, the porch and even retaining walls, railings and fences. The work was outstanding and extremely professional. You know how some paint jobs look good from a distance, but not so much up close? Not an issue with these guys. For my job they spent about twice as long prepping and repairing everything than they did actually painting. So when it was done it looked downright smooth. The only negative I will offer is that Myron isn't always reachable by phone during business hours. I imagine he might be out estimating. But he usually returns calls within 24 hours, and the work and service is such high quality I still give them 5 stars. Highly recommended. read more

Everything went just great. The crew prepared and painted the entire outside of the house(front, back and sides) . This included power washing, sanding, priming, and two coats of paint. They repaired dryrot in some sections of the siding as necessary. They also repaired damaged stucco under my sunroom. They sanded and re-stained the front door and a small wooden deck. Myron is so easy to work with. He makes you feel completely comfortable. There's no problem asking any questions or requesting this or that be done. He makes suggestions along the way which I found helpful. For instance he suggested we re-stain the front door as part of the job, which never even occurred to me. It looks great. The crew did a superlative job. They arrived on time and were always so polite and did a complete clean up every day. They really work hard. If they had a question about something they would check with me and not just assume. I appreciated that. The thoroughness of the prep work was really impressive. They removed old shutters and window boxes on the front of the house after we discussed and decided they weren't worth repairing. Every little nook and cranny was attended to and properly scraped and sanded. They replaced some cracked window glass along the way and checked that my rain gutter was in good working order. They sealed some exposed areas under my sunroom with concrete (which is not really painting and they did a great job). The job took exactly as long as Myron said it would (2 weeks) and they started right away. I'm a happy camper and the house looks just wonderful. Needless to say, I would absolutely 100% recommend Olson's Painting. read more

Myron and his team are about as good as it gets. Not only did they do an excellent job painting but were incredibly flexible and responsive to our situation. We needed the entire interior painted in 3 days - no problem for the team We had our closing date changed - no problem for the team We gave them the incorrect paint code / number and discovered our home was a horrible shade of blue - the day before our move. I was looking for a local painting company in Alameda to do some dry rot repair work on my home in the Harbor Bay area. I received several bids and found that Olson's Painting was half the price of some of the bids I received. Based on the recommendations of neighbors who had also hired Olson's Painting and after talking with Myron, the owner who I found to be reasonable and assuring, I hired them and I am glad I did. His crew consisted of Julio and Antonio, two careful, considerate and hard working individuals who put in 3 long days to get the job done. They even noticed some siding that needed touching up and cracks that needed caulking and did that for me without adding to the bid. They were able to match the existing paint perfectly and even left me with leftover paint that I could keep for future touchups. They cleaned up every day before leaving and left my house looking better than ever. I am one satisfied customer. read more

Myron and his crew painted my house with redwood siding years ago. They used lead safe practices (scraping, only wet sanding, plastic drop cloth every day) which makes the job much harder. It took some reminding to get his guys to do it that way, but once they got it, they were great. The job took longer than he expected, but he kept his price about half of what 3 other painters quoted. They spent lots of time getting everything right, renewing my 20+ year old chipping paint job. They even came back to fix the few things that went wrong (the job was done in the winter and we got unlucky with a misty day). Myron's easy to work with and keeps his word. Now the house still looks great, we get complements on it. I will definitely be calling him when it comes time to paint again. But thanks to the good job they did, that time won't be too soon. read more

I cannot say enough good things about Olson's Painting. I happened to see a house he painted in Alameda and fortunately for me, his sign was still there so I could find him. I live in a 4-unit condo in a Victorian House in San Francisco with six colors. Our HOA agreed it was time to repaint our house, and with a number of different bids and discussions with painters, Myron clearly came out as the best man for the job. Myron worked with our budget. He anticipated issues we would face (he was absolutely spot on) and made good suggestions. His crew found and repaired various areas of dry rot and damaged spots on the house. Myron was thorough in his contract, his timeline, his crew and their professionalism and the result - on time, on budget, and most importantly, a fantastic paint job. I would highly recommend Olson's Painting for any paint job you have. I only wish we had taken his bid of providing a color consultant which would have saved our HOA the time we all took to figure out the new color scheme ourselves. read more

I selected Olson to paint the exterior of my 1937 bungalow because the house had not had a proper prep and paint job in decades and I wanted a contractor that would do all the correct preparation before applying final color. Myron Olson made a convincing case that his crew would meet my expectations and that proved correct. The crew scrapped, sanded, feathered, filled/primed/filled/primed, and finally cauked until the envelope of the house was sealed, fair, and to my eye, flawless, before application of the final color coats, which were impecably applied. Other notable features of my experience: the crew was on-time every day and worked long days to meet the scheduled completion date; thorough collection of paint scrapings and dust (vacume-equiped power sanders, crew wearing ventilators, plastic tarps taped to foundation and disposed daily); excellent daily job site management; good advice from Myron re paint finish options. I'm certain that this paint job will be far more durable than the cheaper paint jobs available in the market. read more

I live in the North Hills of Oakland. I was given a recommendation for Olson's Painting from a a friend in Alameda. She is a decorator and has discriminating standards. We received a bid from Myron and had 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a Master walk in closet painted. The crew was very courteous, prompt and skillful. They did a great job and even fixed a ceiling leak for me. They will begin painting the outside of our house in April. They are very professional and we had excellent results. read more

Olson's Painting just finished painting the exterior of my home. I am so pleased with the finished product. I too agree with other reviewers as to the integrity, expertise and professionalism of Myron and his staff. So hardworking. This is the third time I have had this old house painted -- by far this is the best. The house has tons of windows with a stucco exterior. The painters did an amazing job with the prep work. BTW, I had three estimates before choosing Olson's Painting and they were the most reasonable and detailed oriented. If you are looking for quality painting, I highly recommend Olson's Painting. read more
