I actually really like their pizzas here, really saucy and super stringy cheese and a nice fluffy but crisp crust. Its the way I like my pizzas to be, but I know everybody has their own preferences with pizza. Their BBQ to me is mediocre, its not gross or bad, and in fact I'd be stoked if someone took me here. I personally would just skip the BBQ if I were going to be buying dinner for myself that night. My food in the past has taken a long time to come out as well. read more

During a recent get together with friends we served the restaurant's Crowd Pleasers meal (enough for 6 or more) and it was a big hit. The filling meal consisted of of a whole chicken (mesquite BBQ) , tri tip, salad, bread sticks, and coleslaw and mashed potatoes. Everyone said the food was tasty and I was happy because the portions were generous and the price was right (plus I didn't have to cook-yay!). The staff was very good about explaining how long to leave it in the over before the guests arrived and about how to put everything together. I'm not really into BBQ but would recommend this one. read more

The food here never disappoints. I've been going here for 2-3 years, but I'm only writing a review now because of my visit this past Friday. We went here during our lunch break and I already knew what I wanted: tri-tip and pesto pasta. I asked the cashier if they had any lunch combo with those two items. She said no, but that I should try the pesto pasta with bbq tri-tip. I didn't know this existed, but I was extremely excited and practically salivating at the thought. And yes, it was delicious. The mix of flavors was great. Thanks to the cool cashier for suggesting this. Naturally I also got two breadsticks because their breadsticks are so freaken good. Their caesar salad is good too. I've also had the Tomesto pasta and pepper garlic tri tip--both good as well. I told my bf about the pesto with tri-tip and then I ended up back at Stonefire a day after on Saturday (Pasadena location this time). When the server brought out the food, she complimented us on our great taste. Haha... try it!!! The only thing I would say is that I wish they had Coke instead of Pepsi! =p read more

I've come here for my Senior Prom, the rehearsal dinner for my wedding and many other times besides that. I have never heard of anyone not truly enjoying the food that they ordered! Whether it be salmon, tri tip, chicken, pizza, salads, everything is always top notch. I expect to eventually have a hick up but it hasn't happened. Highly recommended, especially to meat lovers. read more

Stonefire Grill - Screenshot of my hold time. - American Near Me - Irvine, California

Chicken meal - Lacking flavor and seasoning, horrible presentation and small size (I'll never get this again) Tri ribs - Good portion but pretty dry meats and needed more sauce on the side Cauliflower salad - pretty decent but too much mayo and spices Mac and cheese - just okay (I would rather go get yummy and creamy Mac & cheese at Urban plates) Garlic bread - Excellent Mashed potatoes - pretty decent but we didn't finished. Overall, We may not go back there. read more

Terrific food at a great price. Service has always been great too. I like it for the convenience and the price, but have to say ribs at Famous Dave's and Lucille's are still a notch better (gave both 4 stars). Stonefire Grill is probably on par with Tony Romas. Good, but not great. Still, I get take outs here all the time. read more

I love the ribs here and the quinoa, it is a great family place. Big portions and great service. read more

Stonefire in Brea- so disappointed in today's to go order! Always order the 1/2 tri-top/ribs, which is enough for 2 meals. Today, there was 4 very small pieces of tri-tip - didn't even need to cut the pieces - they were that small! I also ordered garlic mashed potatoes that ended up being inedible - they were super garlicky/salty. Definitely not worth the $$ I paid! Used to be my favorite weekend restaurant- I won't be going back again! read more

We had our first and last experience here tonight. SO many mishaps and the food was terrible. Because of their COVID precautions they filled drinks for us- no problem. Except they gave us the wrong drinks twice. And that was after I ordered an apple juice from my daughter to find they were out. I believe in giving grace as life is hard right now. But it just got worse. After the no apple juice and served the wrong soft drinks twice situation, I searched to find there were no open tables. I was holding two drinks, two plates, and two sets of silverware to be approached by a server who had my meal ready. When I told them there were no tables he said he would help clean a table for us, which I appreciated. But then he handed my food to another server to have them walk it around the restaurant a few more times until he had the table clean (gross- and it was cold by the time it made the third attempt to be presented to us.) Then we had to wait 10 more minutes for my daughters kids meal to come out (and it was cold too so I'm not sure what the hold up was.) We barely ate any of our food and left- worst grilled chicken I have ever been served. Extremely poor quality on the sides too. Because of all the challenges, they did refund my daughters kids meal to me ($6 of my $25 bill for one adult and one child to eat which was thoughtful) but lesson learned. We won't be eating there again. read more

Since I became a vegetarian, this is my favorite place to eat in Irvine. The roasted cauliflower is to die for. My aunt and I came here the other night and both ordered salads which were delicious along with the pesto and I remembered they had roasted cauliflower. I took my whole salad to go and ordered a roasted cauliflower which I shared with my aunt. It was so delicious I ordered another one just for myself. read more

We ordered 'The Works' pizza here for lunch and it was very tasty. I really recommend this place if you are in the mood for pizza, I've heard that their pasta is ready too. Another suggestion is must try the breadsticks. Love the food here read more

This is an awesome restaurant I came over to get some gift cards for my family for Christmas the restaurant was not open it was 10 in the morning and they're opening hours are 11 I asked one of the employees standing outside heading in to work to see if I could speak with the manager she went ask and mr. Ben agreed to open the store just to get gift cards I was able to get those and card holders plus envelopes and I really appreciate that gesture. Keep up the great Customer Service read more

A solid dinner place for a reasonable price. However because you don't have a waiter, everytime you want something, you need to get up and get it or order it. There are random servers making rounds, but not very often. The wine was pretty reasonably priced, though you really have to look for the menu (near the door). The salad portion size was good, and quality/taste was average. The garlic mashed potatoes and breadsticks were good, but not incredible as others on yelp has mentioned. Perhaps my expectations were a bit too high reading all these reviews. The Allison's Creation pizza was great, the flavors came through well. However, it may be a bit overpriced for the size. read more

Hi, Justin, I came by for a nice piping hot bowl of Chicken Tortilla Soup at lunchtime today, and it was delicious! I didn't notice this the last time I had the soup, but there is a bit of heat to it. Great for a cold day! Thanks for listening and responding to Yelp reviews!! read more

I had given this place 1 star previously. Here's why... We went this past Sunday and it was terribly busy. We ended up sitting outside rather than waiting 20 minutes for seats. Now, all of us at our table got our food except for one. We talked and ate, while he waited and waited. Now, we asked the waiter that brought our food about his food (ONE TIME), I asked my other friend to go ask somebody (TWO TIMES), and after waiting almost an hour I walked up to the kitchen and made a lil scene (THREE TIMES). I was irate on behalf of my friend. So, I gave a pretty scathing review when I got home. Within 24 hours, Justin from Stonefire Grill responded to my review. He asked me if he could have my number to talk things over. I responded and talked with him today. He heard my story, was very apologetic, promised that this would be used as a teaching tool for Stonefire employees, and got my address to comp me some free meals. I respect the professional courtesy! People mess up & people aren't perfect. But it definitely helps when people realize those mistakes and make amends! Especially if those amends mend into my tummy! Props to Justin & Stonefire Grill!!! read more

Came in sorta around 9.40pm friday night. Was starving and wanted to try things other than the stimulus package. this is what i ordered: 1/2 chicken al la carte: decent portion but it wasn't pretty hot or warm ish, probably closing time? Pasta: meat sauce kind: warm ish but pasta wasn't the best and meat was okay. i was shocked because i had better exp here before. Asian salad: great salad portion but the price wasn't worth it. its a good salad and taste great, however the chicken is a little bland came in, ordered, went to get some forks and knifes.. it was PUT away. really now. there was at least a good 15+ people here and the forks and knifes are put away. and the AC was on to full blast, its night time 9pm, they should have lowered it, my friend had to go to her car to grab a couple of jackets. total came to around 32ish i wish they had the stimulus package that you can mix or play around. more options overall i was not the happiest camper here despite coming here at least twice a month. read more

This place is great. You order your food at the registers in the front and they'll bring it to your table. I've been here about five times and each time has been enjoyable. The food is good, especially if you're in the mood for some good meat (the tri-tip is good), garlic mashed potatoes and bread sticks. The number one thing I like about this place is the atmosphere. You can bring a group of friends and not worry about splitting the bill. When I eat here we always eat family style so its a fun time eating a little bit of everything and sharing food with your party. Last time I was here, we got something called the stimulus package. Its not on the menu, but it was a good price and lot of food for about 4 of us. Ask for it! read more

Stonefire you never let me down! I love coming here every time I'm in Irvine. I always get the tri tip with Gorgonzola butter, the pesto pasta, breadsticks, and southwestern salad. I have never had a bad experience here the food is always great and the prices are more than fair. You can easily feed a party of 5-6 for under 60.00. I love that everything is family style it usually leads to a great time and lots of sharing. I am sad there aren't more Stonefires around especially in the bay area. Maybe one day! read more

Stonefire Grill does what it does perfectly! Last Saturday we had a small dinner party and ordered the tri-trip, tri-tip chopped salad, mashed potatoes and breadsticks. Ordered over the phone and everything was cooked and put together perfectly, ready to pick up at the allotted time. Their food was high quality and appreciated by all. Still in heaven, a week later I needed to order pizza for work (graveyard shift). Ordered at 11am for 8:30pm pick up. (1) Mesquite BBQ pizza (half chicken, half tri-tip) with fresh cilantro, it was wonderful (2) The Works pizza, also pleased the crowd at work (3) Mesquite Grilled Veggie pizza for the non-meat eaters, reportedly PERFECT, and (4) Cheeseless Grilled Veggie pizza for "those people," also reportedly outstanding. Add to that breadsticks which more than one co-worker felt was da bomb. Everything was hot out of the oven an ready for pick up when I arrived at 8:30pm. The pizza outclassed the usual we get from Domino's, Pizza Hut, Costco and varous other chains. Worth the slightly higher cost. Couldn't ask for better or more convenient service! (the take-out door is separate from their eat-in door) Look forward to ordering again soon! read more

Service and food is always great! Garlic tri tip is where it's at. Bread sticks and salads are always a hit too. They're not skimpy on their portions either. We like to get the secret stimulus package when ordering takeout. Only wish they didn't charge for marinara sauce for the breadsticks... It's like charging for Ah jus for a pastrami dip. Highly recommended all the way around! Comparable to a much better and higher end Pat and Oscars before they started sucking. read more

This place is the best for BIG groups! We love coming back to this place time and time again. The patio sitting works great for when we dine with my mother in law and her guide dog or our 94 yr old grampy! We like the stimulus package, salad, meat (chicken, ribs, tritip), pizza and breadsticks for $40. If you want something different my wife loves the shrimp with quinoa, I like the salmon, my kid likes his rack of ribs and then there's the chicken tortilla soup. They have the best salad here too... Nothing crazy about it but somehow here it tastes better! To finish it right their cheesecake is just delicious. This place does everything great... Very few issues in the many times we've eaten here... And there is always a manager making the rounds making sure everything is great. For such an affordable place they have very high standards! Here the customer always wins! read more

Bright & Clean I don't like giving reviews unless I have had the experience to visit eating establishments more than once. Stonefire Grill was a good meal overall. The environment is very much a " Chain Restaurant" type which I'm not to fond of. The tri tip was good.. I've had way better though but for the price it was good. The lemon garlic half chicken is really good and the price is worth it when you order it ala cart. They cook the chicken perfectly and the meat just comes right off the bone. The Salads are OK to pretty good and the best way to do it is order the bigger salads so you can split with family.. There are a few other menu items I still need to try however the half and whole chicken with the lemon garlic are really good. I like this place becuase there are a few ways I can order and stay on my no carb diet. This is great restaurant for the Irvine area and keeps it easy for the most part. They might not come to check on you after you get you food but overall it's a good place read more

I was pleasantly surprised with Stonefire overall. We ordered the two styles of tri tip and really enjoyed the Mesquite version. The garlic butter is also very good and next time I will ask for that on the side to go with the Mesquite instead of the traditional Pepper Garlic tri tip. For sides the garlic mashed potatoes are by far the way to go. On the negative the cowboy beans left something to be desired. I was looking forward to some bbq baked beans but was let down as they are basically baked beans in a chili base which didn't do anything for me. In over 10 ounces of meat I found one inedible piece that wasn't up to standards. The service was good, almost too good. While waiting in line to order our table was called and one of the managers pointed it out for us...three times. He called my name each time, acknowledged me and pointed out the table in a span of 2 minutes. I guess I can't fault a guy for that. read more

I think the food was great quality. Me and my boyfriend had a salad with chicken. The chicken was very well cooked and flavorful which can be difficult sometimes with grilled chicken. The breadsticks were amazing! I enjoyed the service and the outside atmosphere. I like the fact they have a lot of different things on their menu. I would definitely come back. read more

I came here for pizza I know crazy right. It want until I got there that I realized they are actually known for chicken and tri-tip. Well I ordered the pizza anyway (even though the waitor basically urged me not to, but I also ordered the tri-tip. Well the pizza was OK nothing special, but edible I guess. The tri-tip was very good. The ambiance was very noisy and the music was loud even outside so that sort of messed up my experience. Other than that it's and OK place. I probably won't come back though... read more

Awesome South of the Border Salad w/ Tri Tip (petite order is plenty for 1 person) and possibly the best Macaroni n Cheese I've had in my life. Ordered these to-go, petite & kids meal Mac for $14-- so much food, ended up being my lunch and dinner! Side note: salad's tortilla strips are packed separate, don't forget about them like I did! Also, the salad is amazing with delicious ingredients and dressing but if you're craving BBQ tri tip, order a meat plate because although the tri tip on the salad is good, it's not meant to be the star of the show if ya know what I mean (not as juicy, tender, etc as I imagine their main plates to be). Will definitely come back to try their BBQ and will be dreaming about their perfect Mac n Cheese until then. read more

Ordered their Stimulus Meal through Postmates, that comes with a Pizza. However the Pizza didn't come with the rest of the food, but rather was dropped off an hour later separately, with the pizza being frigid, disgusting, and inedible. We catered Stonefire for our wedding last May (they did an amazing job then) and we finally got to come get a meal here tonight with our gift card we got from using the catering service. We were so excited because our wedding day was a blur and we barely remember the food, and we were not disappointed tonight! I used to come here all the time. Their quality has gone down, today I had a takeout order and it was beyond gross. The lemon garlic chicken tasted v different than the usual and I am pretty sure the chicken they used was spoiled. The breadstick and ceasar salad were fine but chicken was bad. I am guessing they had marinated a bunch of chicken or something before the covid 19 closures and were discarding old inventory. Stay away from this restaurant until this fiasco is over. read more
