Pleasantly pleased with the service at this location. BBQ chopped salad with tri tip did not disappoint! Wish they had this as a dinner menu (lunch special pricing is pretty good). The baby back ribs were delicious as well and top it off with one of the oatmeal chocolate chip cookies! read more

Love the food. Disappointed by the service (at Irvine location, only). Lost me as a customer. I know this will not impact Stonefire's bottom line. But I would rather spend my hard earned money somewhere else. read more

I used to love this place but the last few times it had not been as good. The salmon used to be great but now it is super over cooked to the point of mealy and powdery and it looks and tastes poached not grilled. They always had great salads but the ones I like are no longer on the menu. Most of the sides have been removed too. read more

My former co-workers and I went for lunch here in Irvine. The food we ordered were all delicious and generously served to us. We were treated equally with the groups of Military people also having lunch that time. The staff were friendly and one even voluntered to take group pictures of us. read more

3.75 stars! I came here with my friend and we shared a salmon and 1/2 chicken and salmon individual meal. They were $8.99 and $10.99 respectively. It was a busy Tuesday night and I supposed it was because the Greeks at UCI were fundraising (go Songfest!). Anyways, the meal was very filling. It's a order and pay first sort of restaurant so it's really casual. Service was really friendly except for the cashier (she looked sort of ... tired?) I ordered the chicken with b.b.q. sauce and my friend ordered the salmon with lemon garlic. The salmon was a bit sour since it appeared that the thin slices of salmon were extremely sour while the thicker area of the salmon cut was just about right! It came with salad and breadsticks, which were really good (gotta love cheese!), but I just wished it had more carbs! Haha. read more

3.5 stars Me and my friend went here today for lunch. Shared the South of the Border salad- Small with Tri-Tip, an order of 6 breadsticks, and the Pesto pizza (forgot the name). The salad had a lot of flavors and the tri-tip was tender, the breadsticks were warm and had parm cheese on top, and the pizza had a nice crust with lots of basil and cheese. Overall, it was good and I would go for lunch again! read more

Stonefire Grill - dumb name (even as I type that red squiggly line indicating a made up word pops up), yummy ribs. Short version: this place is the definition of a three star restaurant. Long version: I'd been here once before and enjoyed the tri tip pretty much because I always enjoy tri tip. Chicken is just okay, it's moist but not particularly flavorful, which is a feat I hadn't previously known possible. Tonight I went because thanks to Yelp, I know that for the whole month of October they're celebrating their 10th year anniversary! So a slab of tri tip (cut into five quick-bite pieces, slathered in Mesquite BBQ or Pepper Garlic), chicken (Mesquite BBQ or Lemon Garlic), 3 ribs, one side (salad, garlic mashed potatoes, something called cowboy beans or 'Nutty Coleslaw'), and 2 super buttery parmesan-ed bread sticks can all be mine for just $10. It's a perfect size to share and walking distance from my place to boot. The food comes fast and you grab your own silverware and napkins and drinks so you don't have to wait for anything else. It's bland enough barbecue where everything is tasty enough to not be objectionable but not tasty enough to be that memorable, but it is cheaper than Lucille's in a pinch! Food is served on generic cafeteria style plastic plates for a cut above cafeteria style food. That is, except for the ribs. Mine were charred a little but still delicious!! tender, flavorful, all those good adjectives. Now if I could only convince them to substitute all those other meats for like a half rack of ribs... well... it would be a happy anniversary indeed. read more

Holy cow! This place has amazing quality food for super cheap prices! I got catering from this place for my company and it was amazing (the tri-tip is definitely amazing!) I came here with my girlfriend for the express lunch. She got the BBQ Beef and I got the 1/2 Lemon Pepper Chicken and we both enjoyed our food very much. It came out to be under $15 for two people (pretty good). My chicken was amazing (even though it was kind of oily), but the chicken was heavenly tender and juicy (WOWOW!). The BBQ beef was good (the tri-tip was very tender and good). The mashed potatoes were the best I've had, so keep it up Stonefire! read more

Love this place, the tri-tip is bombbbb. This is my go-to place when I feel like eating out, along with California Fish Grill. The meals are well worth it cause you get 2 breadsticks, a salad, and whatever you order. I usually the tri-tip meal, half lemon garlic and half BBQ. Gotta get the tri-tip when you come here. read more

If you havent been to Stonefire Grill, think of it as a little better quality than Pat and Oscars. For a group of 4, I would always recommend going for the family combos. I think its the best value. The food is good but nothing special but it does satisfy my bbq craving when im in the mood. Also for the price the place is very resonable. If you have kids this place is very family friendly. read more

I had been to the Stonefire Grill in Fountain Valley so I figured this one would be just as good. I was very disappointed although maybe it was an off night? I don't know...it wasn't even that crowded. First of all, the standout dishes are breadsticks and tri-tip. And I ordered both of these are were disappointed. The breadsticks needed more salt or cheese because they were a little bland. Bf said the ones at Olive Garden are better and I guess looking back, I'd have to agree. The tri-tip was tough...some gristle and not enough flavor. In the past, it's been really tender and yummy. I don't know what happened!! For those of you who have never been here, you can choose bbq or this gorgonzola sauce to top it. I recommend gorgonzola if you can tolerate it cuz it tastes good. or you can do half and half and try both! We also got the Cartwheel salad which has lettuce, sliced radishes, olives, beets, and tortilla strips. It is tossed with a cilantro vinaigrette. Our salad was dressed a little too lightly and I'm the type of person who doesn't like my salad drenched in dressing. I was again, disappointed. The last item we got was the chicken. We selected the garlic lemon seasoning on it. It was decent flavor but the chicken was very pink/red near the bone. ehhh...good thing we had beer to wash it all down. The service was pretty lacking here too- the salad and breadsticks were fast but the meat took forever... I still give it 3 stars cuz I do like the food here. read more

This place is fine - it's not my top choice but it's a good versatile place for a group considering there's a lot of choices and the food is not bad. The stimulus package is always a good deal except they keep raising the price. A year or two ago it was $20 and now I think it's about $23. It includes a small 2 topping pizza, breadsticks, salad, and either tri-tip or chicken. I would say it's good for about 2-3 people. My only gripe is their salad - we got the caesar salad. I know that this is a really small detail and I sound so high maintenance for complaining about this ...their lettuce pieces are too large. I know it's petty and silly, but I felt less inclined to eat it; I spent most of the time picking out the smaller pieces. Also, their dressing is a little heavy on the garlic side but I can see how some people might like that Overall everything else was fine. I do like their Stonefire's Favorite pizza with pesto, red onions, and avocado. The avocado adds a really nice touch! read more

Cracked Pepper Garlic Petite Tri-tip (6oz) meal for $7.99. Bomb. The first time I came here, everything was fantastic. Decided to bring hubz one night, and was a little embarrassed about how utterly slow the service was. Slow to be greeted, slow to take our order... And sadly, they weren't even busy that night. But I won't let one "off" experience deter my, I still plan on going back and am keeping my hopes up that they'll have it together then :) read more

~*10 STARS*~ This place is at the top of my list when out-of-town friends visit. You cant go wrong with the tri-tip combo: Caesar salad, pepper garlic tri-tip, and savory bread sticks! I take mine with extra caesar and ranch because I be that way. read more

Stonefire Grill - BREADSTICKS - American Near Me - Irvine, California

Love, love, love their tri-tip. I came here with a large group and we ate family style. We pretty much ordered everything. The tri-tip, pizza, beans, coleslaw, ribs, ceasar salad, garden salad, lemon chicken, barbeque chicken, mashed potatos, and the garlic breadsticks. Out of all of the items I tasted, the tri-tip for sure stands out, second being the breadsticks. I would come here again because you get super stuffed and it pays to go family style with a large group. It is not that expensive either. We ordered a lot of food for everyone including drinks for approximately $18 each. And that included us paying for the birthday person's meal too. read more

New review just for the pizza. Uhh great. Thin yet still has substance. Honestly I have never had bad food here, all good

Look at all the reviews I was pretty excited to try this place. However, I think it's a little over hyped. Mostly because of taste. The meat mostly lacked flavor. It was cooked correctly though. In terms of price it's not super expensive but not cheap either. If half stars available I would give it a 3.5 because it is a little above average, however its not quite four stars. The set up reminds of phils bbq, order first, get a ringer, and pick up food when it starts buzzing. Bread sticks are pretty tasty. I can see how this place gets pretty packed. It is also very noisy, which could be a bad thing or a good thing depending on what you want. There are tons of seats. read more

Love this place!! Took our son and his wife here tonight and they loved it too!! They ordered a salad and a pizza and both were delicious. I had the salmon with the teriyaki glaze. I ordered the 1/2 salmon and when it came I thought I might of ordered the bigger one by mistake. The salmon was a huge portion and it was perfectly cooked. My husband got the margarita pizza and loved it. The atmosphere is really nice and the place was packed but we sat down right away and looked over the menu and then ordered. We got our food pretty quickly. You order your food at the counter and the servers bring it to your table. They are constantly picking up your finished plates. So if you want great fresh food at great prices you have to try Stonefire Grill. read more

This used to be one of my favorite places. The food is good but the service needs work. When your server brings you your food and asks you if you need anything, don't ask for a side dish. They will tell you that you have to order at the front counter. So why do they ask if you want anything else? read more

Came here with our group. All I can say is Tri-Tip! Best meat on the menu. So tender and melts in your mouth. The ribs were probably the next best thing on the menu. Also very tender. Chicken was so so. But def more moist than most places. The sides were good. Mashed potatoes and beans. The Caesar salad was whatevs. The pizza was garbage. Soggy and worse than Costco pizza. Avoid the pizza. The service was very good. Friendly staff and nice employees. read more

Love the extensive Americana food menu here. Great spot for family style entrees. Large sitting area and ample parking. Good delivered quickly. Love the pasta and ribs. The carrot cake is large and can last for days if you stretch it out. read more

I really want to get so tri- tip steak, it is something I always get when in California. It is darn hard to find otherwise. I went to Stone Fire precisely with that juicy tender steak in mind. I got the ribs and tri- tip combo. The steak, I am glad to say, was delicious and perfectly medium rare. It melted in your mouth. I was in heaven!!!the ribs however were dried out and unfortunately sauced. The nutty slaw was also a disappointment to me. It was a vinegar slaw with peanuts in it and I just felt like it didn't work. The place is set up cafeteria style which is good and bad depending on execution, and they did an above average job I would say. read more

I enjoy Stonefire for their tri tip so when I was greeted and told that they had ran out, I asked if they could double check with the kitchen and manager. The employee phoned the manager and confirmed. I proceeded to order the chicken instead and was also told that that was out; both bone in and breast. He proceeded to call the manager to confirm again and unfortunately this was also true. It was frustrating as neither the employee nor manager offered suggestions, recommendations, and most importantly, offered a different accommodation for their lack of choices. I drove all the way here to eat something I didn't intend to and was met with a lack of customer service and choices. I want my tri tip and chicken! read more

Amazing Cesar Casals and pesto pasta!!! Best I've ever had!!! Staff are friendly and takeout is always easy.

Worst dining experience I've had in a long time. The half chicken appeared as if it had been cooked earlier that day and simply microwave heated. The skin was slimy and the meat was sitting in a plate full of juices that had ran out of it from being reheated. Our salmon order smelled and tasted like it came from a dumpster. My daughters pasta with cheese was nothing more than cold undercooked noodles with store bought Parmesan sprinkled throughout. Best part, the bread sticks that they are "most known for" was like eating a cold under seasoned tree branch. Me and my family will never return to this restaurant. I would urge you to avoid this place. It is clear that this place needs a change in management and a serious upgrade in food quality. It's unfortunate since we waited so long to visit this place. read more

We've been going to Stonefire Grill for years now and it is still kicking it strong! Their Stonefire BBQ Chopped Salad adds a meaty punch to the traditional salad by adding your choice of TriTip or Chicken. But don't forget their famous breadsticks! Both paired up is my personal favorite and go-to if you're looking for a salad that's also not so much a salad. Their a la carte tritip, rips, and chicken all have choices of bbq style sauce or pepper garlic. I've never been disappointed with my orders. Highly recommend for a casual family meal! read more

Came here after a long day at the beach. Started out normal by placing our order and the cashier made sure I understood how the table service worked. I'll start with the food. This restaurant has a great menu with a large variety and I absolutely love that the menu tells you what is a vegetarian/vegan option. My boyfriend is a vegetarian and I don't eat dairy and this is so helpful. We got the cauliflower pita sandwiches which were delicious and the kids got pizza and meatballs and they gave it a thumbs up and with such a variety on the menu from pizza to salad to sandwiches there is something for everyone. We had a bit of a bump in the road when one meal came out but no other meals did. We didn't think much of it and kept talking. Eventually another girl came over and asked if we were missing some food. We said yes but we honestly were not worried about it. I think at this time our wait was a whole 3-4 minutes. So there was no need to complain. She went to check on it. Soon the manager came to say sorry and told us he was fixing it. We were still not upset at all. Honestly they were probably making a bigger deal of the situation than we were but I am glad they cared so much about it. The rest of our food came out and they even upgraded our sides because they felt bad. In all honesty this ordeal probably lasted about 10 minutes and it did not require any complaining on our part. If someone else in this situation were to complain..they are probably the problem. This review is mainly to talk about how great the service was and how they actually care about the customers. Thanks so much for caring about the customer. read more

I ordered a very complicated large meal for my team and they were so patient with me ! Food is always great, will always come here when I'm craving BBQ. Thanks Stonefire! read more

The food at this Stonefire is just as nice as other Stonefire Grills. Everything we ordered tasted great and we didn't have to wait too long to get our food. The reason why I didn't give this place more than 3 stars was based on the restaurant itself. It wasn't kept up very nice, the music was too loud, and this restaurant seemed much smaller than other Stonefire Grills. We got lucky because we decided to eat at a slower time, but we still had trouble finding a table because so many had not been picked up. The restrooms were similar. I'm not sure how long it had been since they cleaned but they sure did seem like they were on the dirtier side. We also found that most of us were screaming because we couldn't hear ourselves over the music. I do enjoy when music plays in the background, but I don't want it blaring. On the plus side, the staff seemed nice and the food tasted good. read more

I love the stimulus deal! It's worth every penny you pay for. It includes: a 2 topping pizza (about 6-8 slices), a salad, 8 breadsticks and a 1lb of tri trip. All for around $25. I usually go with my roommate and we have enough leftovers for another meal. The ambiance of the restaurant is really nice. The interior is nice and comfortable like a sit down restaurant even though the price you pay for is way cheaper. Been here for 5+ I've been satisfied with their service every time I come. The stimulus deal is good for families, college students and anyone looking for a cheap but tasty meal. read more

Stonefire Grill - BBQ Tritip - American Near Me - Irvine, California

I really enjoyed my first time here. The service was very friendly and quick even though the place was pretty packed. The prices here are also reasonable for the quality of food. I got the tri tip meal. It came with (2) bread sticks and a choice of a side. The bread sticks were delicious! They were seasoned well and were crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Next time I may consider ordering more but I honestly think (2) was a perfect portion as an appetizer. It wasn't super huge and doughy where you felt full already before the main course. The tri tip itself was slightly on the dry side but the garlic butter on top made up for it! I was really satisfied all around with the price, service and quality of food. I definitely will be coming back to explore more of what Stonefire grill has to offer! read more

I've been coming here a lot recently. I really enjoy their food. When I stop by, I always order the petite chicken and petite tri tip combo! It is most definitely the way to go. I usually get the chicken with garlic and lemon, and go with tri tip bbq style. The quality of the meat here is so good! When I usually go here I go with a group of friends. This is a great place for a group! There's always a lot of seating, and pretty fast service. I like that everyone can pay for their own order at the front of the desk. Then you get a number and they bring your food to you. I would have to say that the service here is pretty fast, with food coming out anywhere from 10-20 minutes within ordering, but no more than 20 minutes. Staff is relatively friendly and I can appreciate the speed of the entire check out process. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who is local, the food is absolutely fantastic and delicious. They always have seating available, so it's great for big parties. Another great thing about Stonefire is that they have outdoor seating as well. I will be coming back to this place, it's so yummy! read more

Aside from today, the last time I came in was probably a year ago. Came during rush-hour lunch with co-workers. Gave it 5 stars because: we all ordered from the $7 lunch specials. Everyone in my party of six was very happy with food, service, atmosphere. Tip - expect lines during weekday lunch. But the food came pretty fast, 10 minutes at most? I was embarrassed to take a photo of my food, but just look through what others have posted. Lunch was almost 12 hours ago. Just writing this Review is making me hungry again!! I think I'm gonna go back this weekend! Yum! read more

I contemplated writing this because I don't like to say negative things but .... We ordered salad, corn and breadsticks. To start off the breadsticks were not cooked and very doughy. SG is usually a go to for my family meals but today they did not meet expectations. I was on time for my take out order and upon inspection, the food looked like it had been sitting out for an extended period of time. All of my food was cold and dry, which was disappointing. The breadsticks, usually a highlight to the meal, were tough to break that I actually needed a knife. The only redeemer was my salad, probably because I asked for dressing on the side. Hesitant to re visit this location for future take out orders. read more

Wife and I went there tonight with a gift card from Christmas. The environment is interesting. It has hints of a Chicago pizzeria with an architectural style motif. They have an extensive menu with something for just about everyone. We had the works pizza (9"), a whole cauliflower baked, a Caesar salad and the tortilla soup. the cauliflower was meh. The salad had a strange taste, but not too bad. The pizza was pretty good, good dough! The tortilla soup was pretty good, all total it was $30.00. High price for just those items. Be prepared in that this is a family restaurant and it was noisy when we were there. Lots of parking, oh the service was pretty quick. Would I go back? Not sure, probably to use the rest of the gift card and then ditch it. read more
