Its been 5 years since the last time I ate here and the food is just as good as I remember it. The service is pretty good too. Paola took my order and explained the plate sizes to me. If you haven't been here before, you place your order first at the front and pay. After that, they give you a tracker which you place wherever you decide to sit. Then highly skilled, GPS powered food runners bring your food wherever you are and also offer to grab anything you might need like extra forks, napkins, etc. The drink station is self-service. I ended up ordering a small BBQ Tri-Tip Salad. Don't let the size mislead you, though. A small feeds 1-2 people or me when I am starving. In other words, hide your children if I am not at Stonefire! :-) Ambiance and dress as casual. Rock music plays on the overhead speakers. Right now, I hear My Cherona. A great place for some late evening munchies on a Saturday night! :-) read more

I came here with a few friends looking for some good BBQ. The establishment at first looks like a fancy restaurant but it has somewhat a fast food layout as well, where you order up front first then you get seated at your table. We got some breadsticks to start with... which were okay. As for my order, I wasn't really hungry but I just ordered a small order of Mac and Cheese. It was huge! And not bad of a price, about $5. It was pretty good. My boyfriend ordered the Tri-Tip, which we thought looked kinda small for the price he paid... we were expecting a big mess of goodness... like most BBQ places we go to, lol. But nonetheless the tri-tip was good. Our friends both ordered sandwiches. They said they were both good, but nothing too crazy like a need for a second visit. Overall, an Okay place. Maybe we should have ordered something else. But I would get their Mac and Cheese again... it was very delicious =) read more

This place offers quality food at a great value. They offer generous portions and excellent customer service. The take out only specials are totally worth taking a look at- last time I was there, the special was 12 pcs of dark meat chicken, small salad, 8 bread sticks and large mash for around $20. There is something for everyone on their giant menu! read more

Stonefire Grill is a casual restaurant which serves tri-tip, pizza, pasta, salad, chicken, and more. Personally my favorite item here is the tri-tip. Ask for the stimulus package which is on the secret menu here. It comes with a whole pizza, tri-tip, breadsticks, and a salad for about $30 and it's enough to feed a few people. The food quality here is great and the prices are cheap. Tri-tip for me and my fiancé to share plus a side salad and breadsticks and drinks cost me under $20. The employees here are also very nice and helpful. The restaurant is always clean and it's also spacious allowing you to have events here. I've personally hosted two birthdays here and there's always plenty of seating. The dessert menu is limited here, but the carrot cake is one of the best I've ever had. If you are look for high quality food at a low price, than this is the place to go! One of my favorite places to come, I highly recommend it! read more

Found this place randomly and was very pleasantly surprised. The food is great (ribs & tri-tip) and prices are very reasonable (cheap). Great place for big parties b/c plenty of seating and you just pay up front (don't have to worry about bill after). The perfect meal in my humble opinion: Greek salad, Tri-tip (not bbq), the Ribs (automatically bbq), breadsticks, and mashed potatoes. read more

Great salads, super fresh. Love the roasted cauliflower & breadsticks. , fast service, reasonably priced. Have been 3 times now whenever I'm in the area, never disappoints. read more

Today we had Stonefire Grill delivered to our corporate office in Tustin. The experience was incredible! Brian who delivered the food was prompt, quick, and prepared. It was a painless and wonderful. We will absolutely be ordering from Stonefire Grill again because the food was great but the service is what really matters to us. Brian really made an impact on our lunch experience and I would suggest using Stonefire Grill to anyone who needed a catering service. read more

Best. Tri-tip. I've ever had. Now maybe I haven't been exposed to that much tri-tip but the one at Stonefire just melts in your mouth. It is so tender and the BBQ sauce that comes with it is just heavenly. I've had it twice and it has not failed. I'm actually going to order some right now just thinking about it! My coworker who introduced me to this place has tried many other things and she has never had a bad plate so I'm very excited to try different things. I got the petite tri-tip which comes with a salad and to bread sticks. It was about 8 dollars and I believe is was worth every penny. It fills me up every time (maybe cause I'm small). For a chain restaurant, I'm very surprised at the quality. I would highly recommend this place to my friends. read more

Food was delicious!!! Service was great a shout out to AJ for taking care of our large group of 15. Wish Stonefire would put a location in Seal Beach. read more

Five stars for their food because it's delicious. Tri-tip is so soft and the BBQ sauce compliments it very well. Their salads are fresh and very tasty. Came here a total of 4 times and each time is like my first...amazing food. read more

Justin from Stone Fire Grill reached out and wanted to invite us back and take care of us. Well, he sure did, and what a great experience we had. The food was cooked perfectly - tri tip was so tender, some of the best my husband has had in So Cal. And the kids loved the mac and cheese and everyone just had a great dinner. Given how they took care of us, I'll be happy to treat my staff to a catered meal here again soon. Really really classy. Thanks Justin and Sarah! read more

I love Stone Fire Grill! I'm really obsessed with their tri tip for two meal. It's so good, and it's soft and juicy with loads of favor. It's a great price for the amount of food you get. read more

We usually get the half rack of ribs meal that comes with the cartwheel salad and garlic bread sticks. Should have stayed with that. This time we got the Tri Tip meal. Caesar salad, breadsticks, and garlic mashed potatoes. Everything was very good. Except for the tri tip! It was tough, chewy, and had a couple of big sections of gristle. A little disappointed, but we will go back, and get the ribs! read more

I have their South of the Border lunch salad twice a week. Great price and lots of good flavors!

You have to know what it is before you go in. This is not an average sit-down restaurant. You order at the register, you are given an number, and you get your own drink, silverware, etc. They bring your food out to you. That being said, I think the food is pretty damn good for the money. The portions are huge-- this normally is a negative for me because I often see places skimp on quality so they can serve you larger portions. I am honestly surprised at the negative reviews on the food. The salads here are HUGE and they are chocked full of the good stuff-- you know, the grilled chicken, chopped tri tip, fresh veggies, etc. Another reviewer compared this place to Pat and Oscars-- no way, I think the food is much better. Honestly I'm surprised at the reviews of this place in general. I have been several times and always have been very happy with my meal. The people that work there are very friendly, as well. read more

I have been here before every once in a while, but I just found out about the Stimulus package. Now every trip will be worth while!!! The package includes a salad, choice of pizza with two toppings, breadsticks, and choice of meat. Thats a lot of food, can feed about 2-3 people. We got the caesar salad, pepperoni and sausage pizza, breadsticks, and the bbq tri tip. I am not a fan of caesar salad but it was amazing at Stonefire! I loved the garlic bits and it was just the right amount of dressing and cheese. I kept wanting more after I ate a good amount of it! The pizza was delicious as well. Thin crust but not like a flat piece of paper. I liked to dip the crust in extra caesar dressing. The breadsticks were freaking scrumptious. Again, the garlic on it was probably the star of the breadstick. I loved that they were not thick breads that would just get your stomach full. They were so fresh! The Parmesan cheese(?) on top= MMMMMMMMMMmmmMMM!!!! Last but not least...the tri-tip! We had the bbq tri-tip and the garlic butter tri-tip (we ordered two stimulus packages). Both were amazing, but I definitely loved the BBQ better. It was like heaven in your mouth. It was so soft, easy to chew, flavorful, you do not want to stop eating the tri-tip. My mouth is watering just thinking about this piece of meat. I do not know what Stonefire does to their meat but they are doing it right! I can not wait to go back. Service was good. Plates, utensils, extra BBQ sauce are all self serve. -Give it a try! read more

My loved lunch spot! Good lunch specials and am currently enjoying the state kale salad. Their food is consistently great as well as their good prices. The restaurant is structured in a way where guests wait to order their food from the front counter, then they are seated and wait their good food like normal. read more

When Stonefire Grill just opened, I went there quite often with my co-workers. It was THE place to go to for fresh salads and good portions. A small could easily feed two people. Almost all the salads are the same with few adjustments to distinguish them apart. My favorite is the BBQ with tri-tip or the South of the Border for the Avocados. I've always recommended the restaurant to friends and co-workers and everyone had good opinions of the place. But over time, I started to notice the quality starting to diminsh and what the restaurant was when first opened is different from how it is now. 1. The portions have changed. They used to give a lot more, but as of late, they started to cut down on the amount they give. 2. Quality - my corn today was not properly cut. It's apparent that they just quickly cut the corn from the cob and didn't do a quality check to see that they didn't cut off the cob completely. So my corn had hard bits to it and it was very annoying. The positive thing is that they have a lunch menu which allows you to order a smaller salad and get breadsticks. I would have given Stonefire a higher rating but due to my recent experiences, I will have to give it 3 stars. read more

Just brought the relatives here last week and they loved it all... roasted vegetable pizza was one of the best pizzas around here that I have had. and you may not know this, but tri-tip is NOT AVAILABLE in many other places besides California! My texas and chicago family always ask for it. I ALWAYS get the "stimulus package" which is an unknown secret menu item that I have used for more than 10 years now - Comes with tri-tip, pizza, breadsticks and a greek salad. read more

The salads Choices are sized big and tasty for side sizes, so regular portions are just huge! The tritip salad and the salad with beets, radish etc with vigarette is also a recommendation. I ordered the mini tri-tip which was filling to me but may be too small of a portion for most 6oz. I enjoyed everything on the table.. carrot cake, bread sticks. Will def bring the family. read more

For awhile this place had a bunch of food for a great deal. Pizza, tri-tip, salad and bread sticks all for 19.99. It would feed my wife and I for two night at least. However even without this deal, the place still has decent food for decent price. I highly recommend the pizza which is way better than those pizza chains. The chicken is never dry and the tri-tip are so soft. I go here often now since I live so close by. I highly recommend it read more

Went to this place for the first time yesterday and was pretty surprised by how good and how cheap everything was. At first impressions this place is a lot like Pat & Oscar's because you order in front and then go sit down where they bring you you're food. We got the Breasticks, the Tri-Tip, Garlic Mashed Potatoes, and the Chicken Tortilla Soup. I especially liked the Tri-Tip over everything else. I am definately going to come here again and try some of their other stuff. Good place for a quick, sit down meal that won't break the bank. read more

So you're feeling like you want a meal that could feed the whole village? Go here. A "small salad" is more like a medium, "medium" is more like a large, you get where I'm going with this. I've tried the chinese chicken salad, the bbq chopped salad (comes with choice of chicken or tri tip), and the south of the border salad. All are pretty good, come tossed, and they don't go heavy on the dressing. Except they're friggin huge! You can always tell who the newbies are because they order the "small" but are mortified once they see a gigantic pile of greens set in front of them. I like their tomato basil pizza and has a pretty thin crust, which I prefer over thicker crust. The pizzas are not as ginormous as the salads. Currently they do have the "express lunch" menu which has a "petite" salad (which can still be shared by 2 people). I think there's about 5-6 options on their "express lunch", but don't quote me on that. Some come with soup, breadsticks, and a variety of salads. I've tried the meats here but I tend to think they're really dry. They have a bbq sauce pump next to the go get yourself fountain drinks and I think its pretty good to smother over your meat. They also have to go boxes underneath the bbq pump so that you can bring home the leftovers. Prices are decent, people are nice, its clean, and it has a fire pit out in front...hence stonefire. read more

This is one of my favorite restaurants in terms of value. The food is so fresh, especially the salads. The chicken and tri-tip are always moist and juicy. The garlic breadsticks are amazing. The pizza is also very good. The portions are also huge! I guess I can compare this restaurant with Pat and Oscars but this place blows away Pat and Oscars hands down! read more

This place is ok. I just found their concept odd. But I guess it's a chain... sometimes I wonder if the city of Irvine only allows chains in... yeah, there's the occasional mom and pop joint but the vast majority are chain restaurants/stores. If your family has the craving for salad AND tri tip AND pizza AND baby back ribs then this is your place! The tri tip portions seemed tiny to me. The meat was good but nothing spectacular. It shows up to your table on an aluminum platter/plate and it looks so lonely and sad. :T Can't think of any reason to go back here... read more

If you like chicken that tastes like dog food and dry tip... I mean.. tri tip.. this your spot! Had them cater at my company of 350 people and was looking forward to it, but was so bummed. I hope their restaurant is better but I'm not willing to go find out! read more

I placed a phone order around 5:38pm and walked in 6:10pm to pay and pick up my order. The young girl that took my payment, Anne B, seemed she wasn't at all interested in working, maybe having a bad day. I dunno...Anyway, she didn't tell me how long it will be and didn't say it would be a few mins. I expected the order to be ready by the time I walked in which was at least 30mins later. So I stood around waiting, thinking it shouldn't be more then a few mins. So, 5-7 mins later I went back to the cashier and got a different girl, Camille. Who was much more pleasant, seemed like she was having a great day, and had a smile on her face. I told her I had placed my order over 20mins ago, could she check the status. She found it immediately and told me it had been ready. I was like well, the other girl maybe didn't realize because she didn't check. Anyway, I saw they had fresh cookies and inquired about purchasing one and I told Camille I would like one. She was so sweet, pleasant and professional that she immediately turned my experience (which I'm a frequent patron of the restaurant) right back up. All because she gave me a free cookie, which I of course placed a tip in the jar and thanked her. Stone Fire Management, I'm a manager myself and I know a good employee when I see one. And, Camille is definitely worth keeping around and promoting. You've got a gem. Its honestly the little things that count and I hope you recognize, Camille for her excellent service. read more

Food is excellent. Since the first time we got lunch catered here for work about three years ago, we haven't gone anywhere else. Everything at the worst, is very good. The pesto pasta, breadsticks, garlic chicken, carrot cake, and cheesecake are excellent. It's not a fancy restaraunt to take a date, but it is a damn good place to come with the family to grub. read more

Usually, my work place orders this in huge catering trays for meetings. They always order the Southwestern salad, pasta dish, tri tip or chicken, garlic mashed potatoes, and the garlic bread. Everything tastes delicious, even when it has been a couple of days old. Finally went to Stonefire during lunch. My coworker kept saying a small salad was huge, but I didn't believe her until after eating the food. I ordered the lunch combo with 1/2 of Lemon Garlic Chicken, a petite salad, and garlic bread sticks for $9 something. Such a great deal!! I was fully satisfied from consuming a petite salad and bread sticks, leaving the chicken to eat for dinner. Can't wait to go back and try something new on the menu..especially the lunch specials! read more

Okay, so I have been comming here since I was in high school, about 12 years and I finally gave up on the restaurant. I was a regular 2+ times a week with my family. They even catered my wedding! Which I have to say was the best catering experience I have ever had. The staff are always friendly ! So where does it go wrong. It is the constant inconsistency in the quality of the food that has kept me from returning. Some days you will have the best tri tip you've ever tried and the next time it is cold and tough. Almost every time I go the order is messed up or something is forgotten. It doesnt matter if its busy or not, something almost always goes wrong. On the bright side, the carrot cake is the best in town and the salads are always delicious. This used to be the place to go for a great deal and some delicious grub but that has been lost now and I am not sure why. Maybe I will return again one day to see if things have gone back to the way they used to be. read more

I absolutely love the marinara pasta here. After all of my home football games, a bunch of the families would go and we'd have a good meal. Every time I go there, everyone enjoys their food and I've never heard one complaint. From before my vegan days, if you're getting dessert I would definitely suggest the blueberry cheesecake. It was quite delectable. read more

I've been a long time Yelp lurker and hardly ever make time to give any reviews but I had such a great first time experience @ Stonefire Grill that I just had to share. The wife and I got to try the salad, breadsticks, tri-tip, ribs, grilled vegetables, mac and cheese, lemon pepper half chicken and the brownie. The flavors reminded of good home cooking and the portions are very representative of this large family influenced restaurant. The prices were extremely reasonable, the staff was very friendly/helpful, and the cleanliness for this much traffic was top-notch. I felt like I could've eaten in their restroom if I had to! We'll be back :) read more

Stonefire is one of the best restaurants in socal. I've bee. To 5 or 6 locations and it's always the same high quality experience and food. The service is top notch (seriously) and the food is diverse and an excellent value. The owners have clearly spent the time perfecting every aspect of the business... The take out process is the gold standard in my book. The califlour meatsauce is amazing and addresses us low-carb people which believe it or not is very rare. The salads are huge and tasty. They have a wood fire oven so their pizzas are surprisingly good. Can't go wrong with stonefire... They are an inspiration to me as I'd like to have my own restaurant one day. read more

I went to eat here on Monday September 9th with three other friends after 7pm. My friends received all of their meals and sides before I had to stand up and ask for my food. The nice waitress apologized and went to check on my food. Nearly 10 minutes later, she came out with my food but all my friends were done eating. So if you do your math, nearly 35 minutes later, I got my food minus a salad that was also ordered. I told her to package it up for me as I was no longer hungry from the anger and she went back. Over 5 minutes go by and the manager comes out with my packaged food and says, "I'm sorry about your food. We must have lost the ticket or something." Not wanting to cause a scene, I looked in the bag and saw the wrong salad (Ceaser). I asked him for the correct salad (Cauliflower salad) and he says. "Oh I'm sorry I wouldn't get that salad, the cauliflower is not looking so good." Seriously!?! Why would you even sell that salad if you know it's no good? It's not that the food was late and that's one portion, but why would the manager make excuses for something he knows is already wrong? All of my friends were disappointed and I left there angry and hungry. I would seriously consider another restaurant before going here and them losing your ticket, getting no food or bad food because as the manager said, "The cauliflower is no good." By the way, this reheated meal does not taste the same as fresh, so good luck y'all! read more
