Stonefire Grill is my 2nd go-to spot for when my group is entirely indecisive about where to eat. The first is always a food court, because what's better for the indecisive than a fast casual food court with choices ranging from hot dogs on a stick, to pasta, chinese food, and philly cheesesteaks. But for those times when we can't decide on what to eat, but the 3-4 of us (sometimes 2 if we're really hungry) just want to sit down and enjoy a good home cooked meal, we opt for Stonefire Grill's stimulus package. A slab of sliced tri-tip, a whole pizza, breadsticks, and salad all for a little over $20. This is just the perfect amount of food to feed 3 hungry men, a family of 4, or 2 guys & 2 girls. However you wanna put it. It's a good amount of food for about $5-7 per person. That's not bad, especially considering the alternative is to go to Lucille's or Claimjumper which will cost about $30 per person. If you stop to think about it, this entire family meal is cheaper than one meal at other comparable places! I know what you're thinking. If it's this cheap, the food must suck. The answer is no! It doesn't. It's pretty good. Sure I've had better tri-tip and pizza, but for the price, it's VERY good. The tri-tip is usually perfect. On one occasion I wasn't happy with it. It was a little overcooked and tough. But the server was very nice about it and brought me a new tri-tip that was cooked just right. Like I said, I've had better tri-tip, but at this price, and in comparison with other options, it's a steal! For what it's worth, the tri-tip here is much more tender and juicier than the tri-tip I've had at Claimjumper. The pizza is good too. They must use the same dough, or have the same recipe as this other place in Laguna Beach that I like, because I swear their crusts taste the same. When I want that pizza from Laguna, but don't feel like driving 30 minutes, I'm glad to know I can always go to Stonefire to get a very similar pizza. With the stimulus package you're allowed 2 toppings, and being the meat eating MANimal that I am, I usually get sausage and pep. I mean, what other kinds of pizza do you need other than a pizza topped with sausage, and then a different type of sausage. ...But I've had other less meaty options (usually when a female is present in the group), and they were always great too. The salad and breadsticks are also very good. I always get the caesar's salad. Now, the BBQ sauce. Oh the BBQ sauce. If you notice, they don't provide lids for the little sauce cups because they know people like me will take it home with them! It's that good. I always tell my friends that if Phil's BBQ in San Diego had Stonefire's BBQ sauce, I'd be at Phil's everyday. Luckily they don't, because neither my wallet nor my cardiologist would be happy with that arrangement. But the bbq sauce at Stonefire is one of my favorites. I really don't like overly tangy sauces, and this one isn't the least bit tangy, but still has that little bit of tang to make it good. It's sweet, but not too sweet. It's got some spicy kick, but not too much. It's middle of the road, but in a good way. Now if only politicians could be this way! Then this world would be perfect. You've got the right wing nutjobs battling the left wing protest everything that's protestable liberals. But nobody in between. At least nobody good worth voting for. Anyways.... I really like this place. And I'll keep coming back. Yay! I'm a fan. read more

The food was good like always, but I was really worried when they didn't have disposable menus or an SOP for wiping down the menus in between customers touching them at the take out counter. I asked the employee about it and they were pretty curt back. I get it can be stressful right now, but it was just a question for peace of mind. read more

This place has received my last order. The quality has declined drastically. I ordered medium rare tried tip. When they showed it to me before putting it in the bag, the one slice that was visible was medium rare. But when I got home, it was obvious that slice was from a different loaf. The rest of the loaf was well done. Inedible. Hiding this fact from me upon purchase is BS. Also, the baked beans had three beans and all sauce. read more

I think this place deserves five stars. It's usually my go to when I'm in irvine. I really like the stimulus package which we get the tri tip, pizza and salad usually. We usually get the greek salad. You can also get a rib stimulus package. So much food for 29 dollars. The breadsticks here are really good. The staff is friendly. The pizza here is pretty good. I wish this would come to San Diego. I'm glad that sometimes Streetpass OC is in Irvine so I have a reason to come to Irvine. Streetpass is a 3DS meetup. read more

So I come here on my drive back home normally and this is the 4th time I've come to this location and they don't have any ribs like are you kidding me your a bbq restaurant and don't have RIBS what a a joke and who ever handles your inventory should definitely be talked to this is not right that is a reoccurring thing at this location I get you want to keep food cost low but your forecast for consumption at this location is way off . This is a huge inconvenience to your customers and now my family and I had to drive to your fountain valley location sucks to have to back track when your location is much closer to home. Hope you location can get their act together not a way to handle a business at all the locations in the San Fernando valley area never had these kinds issues please kindly fix this it sucks to be hungry and have to go through this every time I come to this location. Also maybe opening up a STONE FIRE in the San Diego area would be a great business opportunity for you guys hope one day this can happen. read more

This place is big and they have a great, long menu, like a sit-down restaurant. But they have a fast, order at the counter approach, which is cool. I got the chicken wrap from the lunch special menu which was only $7 something including the drink! Now I understand why they have to be so big, it filled up for lunch! The wrap was great and really big for the price, the service was extremely polite and helpful, I'll be back! read more

This place is now one of my favorites in Irvine! Love it! Ordered the: * 1/4 Lemon Chicken and BBQ Tri Tip with Greek salad and garlic bread (all of this for $10) * BBQ Tri Tip Sald The Tri Tip was cooked perfectly and the lemon chicken couldn't taste any better! Packed with flavors and melt in your mouth delicious! I can't believe I haven't heard of this place before! Amazing! Pricing is definitely reasonable. I got so full off of the salad and bread and tri tip and salad, I had to take some to-go! Service is very friendly and the atmosphere is inviting! Great for groups, by your self, on a date, or just to hang with some friends! I'll definitely be coming back to this place to try the rest of their menu! yumm! read more

It is a perfect solution to not having to cook yourself! We placed a large order for my sister's birthday dinner party. Delicious and easy. The salad was very fresh. Prime Rib was tender, ribs had good meat on them, good fllavor. read more

Omg AMAZING! Also hands down THE BEST catering you could ever have. They even send a server! Life doesn't get any better than their bbq chopped salad with tri tip. Lol. Yum! read more

Very underwhelming. Portion sizes are decent but the quality and taste of the food leaves a lot to be desired. I really believe that the people who eat here don't know what good food is. Sorry, not trying to make an insult but, I've eaten at many restaurants across the country, both high end and casual and this is definitely on the bottom. This isn't a one time experience. I've given this place a try several times and everytime has been about the same in terms of quality and taste. We ordered the Penne with meat sauce. If you should decide to order this, let me know if you really see any meat in the sauce AND also tell me if they put a decent amount of sauce on the penne. Not much flavor either. This place gets crowded but, I'm really not sure why other than what I've said above. The only reason we went here is because we received gift cards so we decided to give the place another chance. Sadly, it hasn't improved since the last time I was here which was about 5 years ago. The sad part is that I still have money left in the gift card. Ughhhhh! Definitely would not recommend this restaurant but, you be the judge. read more

I've decided I will no longer go to Stonefire Grill. For a vegan or vegetarian the options are there, but the taste is not. My last two trips were not impressive. Each time the empty tables were still really dirty. During my last visit I got the cauliflower pita sandwich and it was so spicey, I felt like I was torturing myself with every bite. I couldn't finish it. I've had a few salads and also eaten two as wraps. It just wasn't that great. read more

I had Stonefire Grill for dinner and everyone is right about the salad portions. They are huge. I ordered a petite BBQ Tri Tip Salad and it was large enough for two people. Order the salad and breadsticks and you have lunch and dinner for about 8 bucks. The tri tip on the salad was so tender and full of BBQ flavor. I also got an order of grilled corn on the cob and it was perfection (the corn on the cob is seasonal). The place was pretty empty when I was there around 4:30pm and it did take them a while to bring me my food. I didn't mind too much because I wasn't in a hurry. Hopefully its not like that during a lunch rush though. read more

I LOVE STONEFIRE GRILL! I discovered Stonefire Grill a couple years ago off of Yelp and I eat here all the time. I always order the tri-tip, bbq ribs, lemon garlic chicken, breadsticks and mashed potatoes. Each is a winner! I looooove their chicken. It's so juicy and seasoned well. Deliciously cheesy and garlic-y mashed potatoes. If you haven't tried this place, what are you waiting for?! :) -RM read more

On Friday, 12/17/2017 I went to Stone Fire Grill for a "Salad Special " The BALD manager and the one of the cashiers (ANNE B ) accused me of STEALING LEMONADE in front of every one. I went to Stone Fire Grill for lunch around 12:00. I ordered my salad and went to my table. one of the waiter brought my salad. I thanked her and starting eating my salad. While i was eating my salad, the manager came and started talking about my 1.0 litter bottle of water, which had BCAA'S.(AMINO ACIDS) in it. He started talking about me having LEMONADE IN IT... basically stating i filled up my 1.0 litter of bottle form their restaurant in front of everyone. I explained and told him in detail about taking my BCAA'S to work, restaurants and 24hr Fitness. I told him couple times in very nice and professional way, If he does not believe me? He is more than welcome to drink my BCAA'S. I told him to go and grab a cup of water and try it yourself. He didn't and kept taking about me stealing lemonade from their restaurant. After realizing, he was wrong and he messed up... he started saying how was sorry.....BLAH BLAH..... I have taken my bottle with me in different restaurants in Irvine. NO ONE has ever asked me or my friends about caring my bottle in a restaurant. I don't want this to happen to someone else. I am very disappointed. Please train your staff about BCAA'S and how to treat customers. Thank you. read more

This evening I had a early dinner at the stone fire grill. This is a establishment that is usually packed to the brim with people, but today relativly lite because of the time. I had the BBQ beef sandwich , it was good but a bit tangy for my taste. We also had a tomato and basil pizza, it was delicious and I was especially fond of the crust, super good. Also had some garlic mash potatos that were awesome. It was a good dinner, but this seems like more of a lunch spot to me. read more

you must get the garlic breadsticks. TASTY!! we got the stimulus package and boy what a deal! $23.99 and a pile of breadsticks, salad, and ribs! tasty!! this is th perfect family meal. read more

BEST bbq chicken salad. Large portions and affordable cost. The staff are very friendly as well!

This was the first time we've been to Stonefire Grill. Ordered the Baby Back Ribs and Tri Tip (half mesquite and half pepper garlic) along with salad, garlic mashed potatoes and freshly baked breadsticks. While the Baby Back Ribs were tender, they were not fall off the bone delicious. And their signature BBQ sauce wasn't tasty at all. In fact, we pretty much ate the ribs without extra sauce. The garlic mashed potatoes were too cold and you can find huge chunks of potatoes in this side. The breadsticks were the best. The employees there are very friendly but not much service is offered. After you order, they bring the food to you once it's ready but they are not readily available otherwise. Drinks, napkins, extra sauce are all self-serve behind the counters. read more

This place is a upscale Pat and Oscar's. They have family style here, but we chose not to try it out this time around because non-meat eaters, so we all just go vegetarian rolls or salad. We shared the garlic mashed potatoes and breadsticks. The mashed potatoes were flavorful and had a crust (like it was broiled) to it, which I really liked. The breadsticks, were buttered and had parsley and garlic on them, it's like a kicked up version of Pat and Oscar's, although I think I like Pat and Oscar's breadsticks a little more because it's a little more buttery and unhealthy. I ordered the Stonefire Fiesta Salad. I chose the tri tip, and I really enjoyed the salad. The salad is in a tostada shell like a taco salad. Everything was good except the shell was kind of stale so I didn't eat it. The salad is pretty fresh, with bell peppers that give it a good crunchy texture to contrast the lettuce. The salad is light yet flavorful. Pretty good sized salads. read more

Nice family-style place to go to since that's how most of the food is served, in big portions to share. The salad was fresh and very good and the pesto pasta was delicious. My first visit and I was happy with the outcome. Definitely stopping by here next time I'm in so cal. read more

To start, there is spacious parking (because the plaza is big, not because the restaurant is empty). I've seen it get SUPER packed during the weekends for lunch & dinner but not so much during the week. You walk up to the register and place your order & pay then seat yourself. You grab your own plates, utensils, drinks, etc. (pretty much everything besides your food) and get a number for your food. My personal favorite is the "Stimulus package" which comes with: breadsticks, salad, pizza and your choice of meat for about $22? I don't re-call if it's on the menu or not but we just order it when we want a lot of food. I also like ordering the pasta (tomesto! - half tomato and half pesto sauce) and a tri-tip entree (comes with breadsticks and salad). It's a clean establishment, the customer service is very friendly and the food comes out pretty quickly. I am a huge fan of the barbecue sauce and big portions! read more

So it was our coworkers last day of work and we decided to take her out for lunch. Our boss decided to go to Stonefire Grill. We ordered the family meal which was chicken and full slab of ribs plus a side order of Tri-tip. HOLY SMOKES!! This place is soo good. We first got these bomb bread sticks and a wonderful Cesar salad. The bread sticks were warm and had a good crunch to it. The Caesar salad wasn't over dressed and not sour like other places. So out first was the BBQ tri tip. We had it cooked medium and it was perfect. It was so tender that I only had to take a few chomps to have it fully discintegrated. Hhahaha The flavors were a perfect balance of sweet, tart and salty. Love it. The ribs were excellent a bit short on the meat but I love their BBQ sauce. Its not to sweet nor sour. We order half BBQ chicken and half lemon herb.. Wow both were equally good. I couldve put a whole bowl of rice on top of the juice that was topping the lemon garlic chicken and ate it all up. I think that's what was missing some sort of starch. But for me I wanted some rice. Hahaha Service was excellent. There was a serve checking on us ever 5-10 mins. The server that took our order really helped us choose our order. Thanks bro!! We wouldve ordered way too much and he helped us save about $20. Nice!! read more

My husband and I must come here at least once a week and we are sad to see some changes but overall everything is still good. I wish they would allow tips when you use your debit/credit card and now you can only use cash to tip. I always forget cash:( the food is still the bomb but I can say one thing. DO NOT MESS WITH THE RANCH RECIPE!!!! The ranch is the bomb and I swear upon all that is holy in this world, if the ranch is changed, bad things will happen....... read more

Fast, easy and delicious! Perfect for an office lunch! I picked off the Lunch Special, a personal pizza and Caesar salad. The pizza dough was flavorful and fresh, tasty toppings and cheese, the salad dressing tasted freshly made, I switched the lettuce for spinach (Gotta add a little health food with pizza) Very Tasty! This is Plenty of food and I didn't even spend 10 bucks! 100% will be back! read more

When fast food just won't cut it, and you want a hearty meal, then Stonefire Grill is the place to go! I ordered the Tri Tip and can't remember what else I got with it. But whatever it was, it was all good and couldn't believe how much food I walked away with. I thought I was feeding 2 people - not 20 - for dinner. I had gone here on a Friday evening, and the place was busy! Everyone was just moving so quickly. Despite that, the guys taking orders seemed calm, cool and collected. The wait wasn't too bad, either. The bill came out to be like $30, but they do send out coupons for the same meal for like $20. So, don't be dumb like me and not use the coupon! read more

Great place for groups on a budget. Love their family meal options and LOVE their breadsticks! Their chicken, ribs and penne pesto pasta are my faves but their tri tip could be better in quality. I have ordered catering from them plenty of times as well and they never disappoint. read more

I was so excited to come to stone fire Grill because I hadn't been in ages but was very disappointed when the food came out. ALLL the food was cold and we ordered a lot. The mashed potato was dry, pesto pasta had little flavor and the ribs and tri-tip was hard with no flavor. We also order a brownie that was so hard and dry we cold not eat it. #BringBackTheOriginalBoldFlavors #sobumbed read more

mmm...as i type this all i can think about is their caesar salad and garlic mashed potatoes. for some reason, this location has way better service and food than the fountain valley one. its a love-hate relationship i have with the fact that this restaurant is family style~~ i love that i can share with my friends, but it gets annoying when theres something that only i want to eat..like the pesto pasta. oh well, regardless...whenever im craving that caesar salad or those potatoes...ill be back. read more

We were looking for a new and different place that serves barbeque other than Luicille's and Wood Ranch. Thanks to Yelp, it led me to Stonefire Grill in Fountain Valley. I went through a few pictures and I liked what I saw. It looked like a place that would make my two sons very happy as one wanted BBQ and the pickier one only likes pizza and pasta. Once we got into our car, I looked up the location and the Irvine location came up as well so we decided to go there since it's easier to get to. When we got there, I was a bit relieved because I didn't see a big line outside and there are empty tables in the patio area. It's never fun to wait for a table with kids on a Saturday night. Once we headed in, there were tables available as well. It has a very spacious dining room. It's a place where you order at the counter first then you can pick where you want to sit. We ordered a pepperoni pizza, tri tip meal with garlic mash, a full rack of baby back ribs, pesto pasta and a roasted cauliflower. At the beverage bar, you can also pick up your plates, utensils and condiments. Each ordered meal was brought to our table with friendly staff. The pesto pasta I ordered for myself was raved by the whole family. The rigatoni or the tube pasta was al dente. Surprisingly my 8yo preferred it more than his own pepperoni pizza. The tri tip slices were moist, not dry at all. The roasted cauliflower was something different but delish. It's served with a sauce like tahini and lemon juice mixed together. It's so good that my fiancé ordered another one. When our full rack of baby back came, it looked a little burnt on the top (BBQ sauce caramelized). That didn't bother us until a staff named Chandler who checked in with us asking if we wanted a replacement. We thanked him and told him we would be ok with that. After a few bites, other than the burnt parts, the meat was tender and fell off the bone easily. We had no problem finishing up the full rack but I thought in my mind I wished I had asked for a replacement. Chandler came back again to check on us and we gave him our feedback. He then offered us a brand new rack to take home happily. My fiancé had a pleasant chat with him for a while and we learned he has been working for the restaurant for about 21 years. Apparently this location has been in Irvine for 10 years even thought I only just found out about it for the first time today. The other staff worth mentioning is Michael Lance! He was so awesome and offered us more breadsticks. He checked in with us numerous times too. We all had a great experience tonight and we would definitely return again and again. This is the place you can choose something healthy or something on the heavier side. You cannot go wrong with Firestone Grill!! Bonus: They serve Stone Brewery beers too. read more

Amazing service, great food, and a great price point. I can't say more about how impressed I was by this location. While it may seem a bit like a fancy Pat and Oscars when you walk in, the similarities stop there. Great menu depth that focuses on BBQ, homemade pizza, pasta, and of course breadsticks. While there definitely go for the stimulus package, especially if your hungry. This monster meal comes with 8 breadsticks, pizza, salad, and your choice of either tri tip or a rack of ribs. Personally I would say go for the tri tip in the aus jus with garlic butter spread...yummy! read more

Everything I've tried here has been very tasty, and service has been excellent every single time. What makes it 5 stars is the Stimulus Package and the Salads (I personally like the Stonefire BBQ Chopped with chicken) because it is unbelievably cheap for the quality you get, especially in Irvine! Stimulus Package is ~$25 (not shown on menu) and includes a choice of a combination of their meats (ribs, chicken, tri-tip), a medium sized pizza with 2 toppings of your choice, a salad, and hot garlic parmesan breadsticks which is good for 4-5 people (or 3 very hungry guys). Don't be deceived by the price though, it all tastes amazing! The salads taste very fresh and the "small" portion is roughly twice the amount of salads anywhere else with twice the variety of ingredients and I'd say tastes twice as good. I only wish I found this place earlier. read more

This place was actually really good and reasonable priced. I cant believe iv never been here and it was in my own back yard!
