In April 2026, we traveled to Seattle to see the three national parks in the area. While visiting Mt. Rainier, we stayed at Stone Creek Lodge. The lodge is maybe a quarter mile from the Mt. Rainier National Park entrance. As soon as we parked to check-in, Bob and Joe (Owners/Managers) made us feel welcome. The cabin we had was great. It was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The views were wonderful. It was so peaceful and quiet. A great place to relax and re-energize. While there, Bob and Joe shared their knowledge of Mt. Rainier and the surrounding area. Telling us the best places to eat, all about the mountain, where to go for pictures, trails to walk, best places to see wildlife, and so much more. They had a campfire one night and provided everything we needed to make Smores. Many of the guests came out to the campfire, enjoying the smores, the conversation, and the stars. It turned out that one couple had stayed there several times before. At the time we were there, the park required vehicles to carry snow chains. They rent chains at the lodge for half the price of the places you can rent them in town. Unfortunately, they didn't have our tire size but immediately offered to go purchase a set for us to rent. By far, Stone Creek lodge was the best place we stayed during our trip. If headed to the National Park or the Ashford area, we highly recommend Stone Creek Lodge. read more

Super close by the park, the owner was super friendly. I definitely want to stay here next time we come around. Very close by the park so you'll see some wild life, we saw deer and a lot of birds. It still feels secluded even though it's near the entrance of the park, very peaceful place. He even had games and hiking sticks to borrow. read more

Our time at Stone Creek Lodge was more than just a place to sleep, but was an entire experience! If you are looking for the perfect getaway from city life or visiting Mount Rainier for the first time like us, Stone Creek Lodge is the place to be! Stone Creek Lodge is located on a beautiful property with an amazing central fire pit with surrounding grass and trees. The property is well-maintained, including the beautiful garden that livens up the area. We had the chance to stay in the mountain cabin as well as the double queen suite. Both offer various amenities with the mountain cabin offering an amazing hot tub. These cabins also include WiFi, AC/heat, heater in the bathroom, microwave, fridge, toaster, dishware, kettle, coffee pot (coffee grounds included) and snacks. Housekeeping and cleanliness is impeccable! As a former housekeeper myself, I was blown away with the standards that Bob and Joe kept the cabins in as well as the property! Bob and Joe host nightly campfires where everyone is invited, and creates a sense of community with everyone who stays here. You are sure to make acquaintances here and even get informed on everyone's experience while on the mountain. We loved staying at Stone Creek Lodge on our trip to Mt Rainier NP. Bob and Joe are incredibly hospitable. We loved the nightly bonfires, and the kids loved the s'mores! This place is incredibly kid friendly if you are traveling with kiddos- cabin #2 was perfect for our family of four, and we enjoyed the games and sporting equipment during our stay. We stayed for two nights while we were exploring Mt Rainier NP. It was the absolute perfect location. It is at the doorstep of the park, could not have been any more perfect. The owners Bob and Joe have thought of everything. The property is beautiful. The flower gardens are so pretty. I wish it was a few weeks from now so that we could have seen them in full bloom. I'm sure the summer is gorgeous. The weather was great so they were able to do a fire and smore each night. That was a nice treat. The cabin was very comfortable. It had everything we needed. They keep the cabins extremely clean. Our unit had a hot tub outside to share with the cabin next door. We had a mini fridge/freezer and a microwave. Coffee pot with supplied coffee, sugar and creamer. Having tea and a tea kettle was a nice touch. We will definitely be back for a longer stay next year. Our time Stone Creek Lodge was more than just a place to rest, it was a whole experience. The owners Bob and Joe are so personable and take pride in their work. The property was beautiful, with such a convenient location that is 2 minutes away from Mt. Ranier entrance. The cabins were immaculate- one of the best I have ever stayed in. There were many amenities such as coffee, a toaster, fridge&freezer, snacks, A/C & heater, and even a heater in the bathroom! These cabins were so relaxing and some of them even have a jacuzzi which is great. There are also nightly bonfires with s'mores which is a great way to meet the other people staying at the property and getting to know the owners. We had such an amazing stay, and if anyone will be visiting Mt. Rainer please choose stone creek lodge. Overly controlling, wouldn't allow one family member to stop by to visit. My near 80 year old brother flew out with his daughter, son in law and adolescent grand son and I (65 and retired) chauffeured them around the Northwest in my travel van. They stayed in lodges and resorts and I stayed in nearby rv parks or campgrounds. The owners here set an arbitrary 15 minute maximum to pick up or drop off my family with no ability to spend time together, chat, play cards or even consider enjoying a fire pit together. The owner kept talking of tales of what happens when they allowed more than four to stay and the parties that occurred. None seemed relevant to two retired oldsters and parents with child, one of which just wanted to spend time with family, not stay the night. Stay here at your own peril and be prepared to be monitored and controlled. read more

My wife and I stayed here this weekend with her parents who were visiting from out of town. We ended up finding this amazing place after a very bad first night at another location close by. We were absolutely amazed and delighted at how clean, comfortable and safe the cabins felt. The owners, Bob and Joe, both make the whole experience amazing. Ive never stayed somewhere, where the hosts clearly care so much about their guests, and the experience they have. They are both incredibly friendly, knowledgeable of the area and give great recommendations for activities and places to eat. They have thought of everything you couod possibly need to put in the cabins during your stay. As mentioned, everything is extremely clean, nicely decorated, and very comfortable. They have fires at night around their community fireplace with smores and great conversations, and it feels like you are hanging out at the end of the day with friends after you return from the mountain. Almost every single review I've read mentions both of them, and for good reason. The amount of care and love they have poured into their property and ensuring that the guests that stay there have the best experience possible, in my opinion, is unmatched. My wife and I are already looking forward to planning our next stay at Stone Creek Lodge, and will likely be coming back for years to come whenever we have the chance. We just returned from our anniversary trip to Mt. Rainier. Our first time there. Our stay at the Stone Creek Lodge could not have been better. Bob and Joe gave great advice about hikes before we even arrived, and then even more when we got there, especially once they knew our hiking experiences and goals. The cabins are so beautiful and cozy, the cleanliness is exemplary!! There are so many thoughtful touches like snacks and coffee, tea, etc. provided. Every night, they have a campfire with smores and time to share stories and ask questions. The lodge is right near the entrance to the park, so getting there early was so easy. Bob and Joe also had a lot of important advice to keep everyone safe during their adventures on the mountain. They even had hiking poles to borrow if someone had forgotten them. ( and bug spray!!) We are definitely planning a return to Mt. Rainier, it is amazing and has so much to offer, so every trip can be different. This place is great! Stayed in one of the standalone studio style couple cabins. The entire place is very well kept by the hosts Bob and Joe. We called ahead to see if they could accommodate a late arrival. Got to speak to both Bob and Joe, and both were willing to work something out so we didn't disturb the other guests. When we arrived, we were greeted by Joe and he gave us a run down of the entire place. And even gave us suggestions on activities to do at the park. Everything was very clean and the room had everything we needed. - Queen size bed with clean and warm sheets - Fireplace heater - WiFi - Clean hot shower - Microwave - Mini fridge - Coffee Maker - Hot Tub!!! We stayed 3 nights in the Pine Maple cabin and it was a wonderful time. The cabin is a minute from the entrance to Mount Rainier Natural Park. The owners provided exceptional customer service. You can tell that they care. Our cabin was in exceptional condition. The only minor drawback is the property is close to the main road and during the day there is a lot of traffic. Rainier National park - There's some good food options within a few miles towards the town of Ashford - The Cabin we were in was called the Cascade Cabin and was perfect for two people - You can see the pain Bob and Joe took to make this place what it is in the small details like granite kitchen countertops, glazed cabinets, beautiful gas stove, lovely wood paneling and so much - Love the fact that there is no TV here - Bob and Joe are SUCH GOOD HOSTS. Bob asked us EVERY SINGLE DAY if we needed anything, had the Longmire/Paradise gate opening info memorized every day and had so many recommendations on trails and the park in general - The only two lows were slow internet speed (not their fault, there is no connectivity past Longmire) - Wish we had a nice laz-z-Boy in these cabins to just sit, the chairs are hard wood and so for old people like us, it hurts our backside after a while :) read more

Loved this cozy lodge. We stayed 4 nights. Bob and Joe quickly greeted us assisting with all the information we needed for hikes, drives, restaurants and all our needs for the day. I loved the quiet atmosphere amongst the forest and near the park entrance. We had Wifi, but I absolutely loved the lack of TV. Sitting outside with my morning coffee watching deer walk by was the ultimate peace and quiet I craved. Rooms are immaculate and there is a nightly campfire where children and adults can enjoy. This was the perfect home away from home for the last two days. Everyone here is so pleasant to around and very accommodating. The Cabin: (I was in Cabin 3) Looks to be newly renovated. New carpet, super clean, well lit and lots of windows. Would sleep 4 comfortably. Absolutely no pets or smoking! This cabin has an open concept (no other rooms except the bathroom) which gives you lots of space. There are also ample USB charging stations at the bedside, enough for the whole family, nice added touch. The Kitchen: Has everything you need. The small refrigerator and freezer is fairly standard but the freezer is big enough to hold ice cream (and they provide an ice cream scoop). They also provide a small microwave, toaster, coffee (and coffee pot) and hot chocolate, dishes and silverware. The Bathroom: Most important - SUPER CLEAN. Stall shower has soap/shampoo dispenser. The toilet is full size. And there is plenty of hot water. They also provide a hair dryer. The Beds: A little soft for me but very comfortable and the bedding was crisp and clean. I would HIGHLY recommend staying here. Oh, and its located just outside the park, so great location. read more

Staying at stone creek lodge was an absolute delight. Far above and beyond what I would have expected for a cabin stay near Mount Rainier national park. My cabins were very clean, comfortable and functional. There is a heater in the very new bathrooms that made it a delight to get out of the shower. Snacks in the room were appreciated to bring on hikes. Great location- super close to the park entrance, easy access to paradise hikes. We even drove 1.5 hours to sunrise to do a hike and didn't find the drive to be too bad. Very fair price/ bargain for the quality of stay. Bob and Joe are the absolute sweetest, very welcoming, accommodating and warm. You can really appreciate that this was a passion project for them because the attention to detail and care they take is outstanding. Wonderful find! We do an annual camping trip with extended family. Though the last three years we've stayed in cabins (kids are growing). This was definitely a favorite in comfort and location. This cabin is so close to Mt Rainier National park gates. There's usually traffic backups getting into the park and we can see it from our cabins. Joe and Bob are the owners and they are lovely and wonderful hosts. Check in was easy as they showed us the cabins. Every night Joe would start a campfire to roast marshmallows for s'mores. They would stay out with us and pointed out the International Space Station as it flew overhead (fast moving non-blinking star). We even spotted shooting stars and can make out the Milky Way. It was fun to talk to other guests visiting from other cities and countries. Joe and Bob are a wealth of information about Mt Rainier park, trails, and local activities. Get the info from them prior to going into the park, that way you're not asking questions at the gate into Mt. Rainier (stalls the flow into the park!) The cabins are well cared for and clean. We stayed in the garden cabins. We had the open concept rooms where the beds, kitchen, and dining area are all in one room. The kitchen has everything but a stove. To cook our dinners we used the grills near the fire pit. Everything was thought of, including makeup wipes. The beds were a bit soft but the sheets were clean and crisp. They supply a shampoo and shower gel dispenser in the shower. We had a great time and hope to return in a year or so. They are planning on remodeling the cabins so we can't wait to go back and see the changes. read more

We had THE most wonderful stay at Stone Creek Lodge. I feel like it's one of those hidden gems that surpassed any expectations. I hesitate to write this review because I plan on going back often and worry that it might be booked weeks or months in advance! Anyway, here goes... the hosts are so kind, welcoming and hospitable! They tended to the nightly campfire with s'mores and were there to provide recommendations, maps, info, etc! The couples cabin with hot tub was clean, comfortable and everything we needed and more. We brought a lot of our own food and kept it in our cooler and the fridge. It was like camping but with a warm and cozy cabin and a shower at night. The Wifi worked well and it was the perfect weekend getaway in the mountains to relax, recharge, enjoy nature and time away from the city. Can't wait to return here soon! Bob and Joe are amazing hosts, and Joe gave us the run-down the minute we arrived on where we might go in the park, which walks were worth doing and when might be the best time. The maps provided made orienting ourselves to the park so easy, and there was a great book of walks in the bedside cabinet. The cabins themselves were perfect for what we needed. Comfortable, friendly, well-decorated and with great views. We appreciated even more the good coffee and the thought that had gone into all the details - down, even, to a great choice of snacks! I've stayed here several times over the past five years for respite from family caregiving. The Lodge has been truly a comfortable, restful sanctuary for me to get much needed breaks. The cabins were lovely and cozy to begin with, but they are even moreso now after renovations, which included high-quality upgrades, thoughtful detailing and all the amenities to make a great stay. The cabin and furnishings are pristine, and the kitchenette is spotless and has all the needed items. Honestly, as much as I love coming here for Mt. Rainier, I could easily enjoy coming just to stay and relax at the cabins. A common area/green space between the cabins is a great place to relax outside, and the location is within a 1 minute walk to the entrance of Mt Rainier National Park. For after-adventure eats, Wildberry Restaurant with authentic Himalayan food (open seasonally) and Copper Creek Restaurant with their homemade pies, are hard to beat. Joe and Bob, the owners/hosts, are incredibly gracious. On a recent stay they extended above-and-beyond generosity to me, and I will long remember their kindness. We had such an amazing stay at the stone creek lodge! The owners couldn't have been kinder, and even helped us prepare for our snowy hike by checking the weather conditions and driving conditions for us as well as recommending restaurants and bars in the area. The cabin was cozy, quiet and quaint, and the hot tub was a serious plus. There was a small kitchenette, with dishes provided as well (also free wifi, but who wants to be plugged in on vacation!). The hosts were kind enough to give us some ice for cocktails so we didn't have to go into town for a bag of ice too! We will definitely be back - already planning a stay for this summer! read more

Four letters, C-O-Z-Y. The cabin was spotless and very esthetically pleasing. You have a small kitchenette (coffee maker, toaster, water kettle, microwave and fridge/freezer). I would recommend a small grocery trip BEFORE you head towards the cabin. If you do need to pick up smaller items there is a nice general store on your left towards Ashford. The cabin itself was nice and toasty when we got there. There is shampoo and body wash as well as linens. Storage is available with a few hangers and a dresser for longer stays. The hot tub was easy and great especially during the cooler afternoons. The views are spectacular especially when it is clear. And location location location! Literally a few hundred yards from the entrance of Mt. Rainier! The hosts are awesome and very informative. They also have bonfires for guests on clear nights. 10/10 recommendation! read more

At first we we were super in awe of the cabins, very cute and close to the park entrance. We came up for a weekend with a group of ten, 8 adults and 2 children, and rented four separate cabins. Our first day was great and the second day was going well until the owners came over in a very accusatory fashion. The first night a few of us gathered in one room, 6 people, to play some games. We played until 11:00 then went back to our separate cabins and went to sleep. The owners approached us to let us know they had received a noise complaint from the night before for being a little bit loud which we agreed with but the fashion in which they did was extremely rude and included exaggerations that we had been up until 1:00 and that there were eight of us staying in a four person cabin, even though that wasn't true and we had actually made the reservation for more people then we had. We apologized for being loud and took responsibility for that but we also tried to clarify that the story they were told was not the truth, although they did not care to hear that. We were extremely upfront beforehand and said that we were coming up with a group of ten to celebrate a birthday, if they had a problem with a group that large they should have mentioned something when we were booking. There were also no quiet hours posted anywhere or included in any of the introductory info. I am not denying that we were a little loud but the method in which we were approached was extremely rude. After bringing up the noise complaint they also brought up the fact that we had a four and six year old kicking around a soccer play in an extremely open area when no one else was around, mentioning that they thought we would just be sleeping in the cabins and not spending so much time at the lodge. Overall the approach made us not feel welcome and made our second night extremely awkward. We actually had a group end up leaving early because they no longer felt comfortable staying in the rooms we had paid for. The cabins are set up with an open inviting nature that looks like a place to gather with friends and family but beware that it is all a front and if you want to socialize you are probably better off staying elsewhere. Overall there were a lot of rules and we were extremely courteous and tried to do our best to follow them all, we left our dishes in our rooms, we didn't smoke, we didn't have pets, we cleaned our cabins and followed all check out procedures, and only people who had rooms with hot tubs used them. It was definitely a shame because we were already planning on coming back and recommending it to friends before being treated so poorly. read more

I had a well documented and costly emergency and they still made me eat the whole amount. I have had great fortune of traveling extensively and have had to cancel a handful of times for things that are less clear and super easy to document (like a kid getting sick) and I have never had someone at least offer a partial credit for future use. As you can see from the other negative reviews (one of which is buried and not factored into the final review tally for some reason - where they questioned the women's disability), these guys are great as long as you are operating in their very narrow idea of what they need from you. Spent a wonderful two nights here recently with my family in one of the family cabins. It was the perfect size for a family of 4. It was great to be so close to Mt. Rainier National Park. I wish we could have allotted more tome for our visit. Bob and Joe were amazing hosts - so informative about the park, hiking trails, and local restaurants. So we were there last year during the summer (2013), I had one of the cabin with a hot-tub; it was really nice after a long day of hiking. Then we met some strangers at the fire-pit. It was great! -1 star because our cabin didn't have a microwave, and all the food we brought, we needed some microwave. Luckily, there was a restaurant walking distance practically next road entrance. Tip: make sure you read if you cabin has a microwave! and bring food accordingly, call ahead to see if there is fire-ban. read more

We stayed in a small cabin that had an outdoor hot tub beside it (to be shared with neighbors). Our private cabin had a kitchenette with microwave for reheating (no stove or oven), a very nice mini fridge with a separate door for the freezer. The freezer is approximately 12 inches high, 20 inches long, and 14 inches deep. It is not like a normal hotel mini fridge, better! :) Dishes, silverware, glasses, cups, utensils, coffee maker, toaster are available for use. Dish soap, wash cloths, towels, and even paper towels are provided. The queen-sized bed is very comfortable. A light and nightstand to plug in phones, etc., is beside each side of the bed. The dresser is nice to use so not living out of a suitcase. There is a ceiling fan/light and a really nice window fan. The towels for the hot tub and bath are very luxurious! There is a decorative bottle of liquid soap at the sink and also liquid soap and shampoo in the shower. Several thoughtful touches to these units make it a comfortable place to be when not out adventuring in Mt Rainier National Forest very nearby! At night, they generally have a fire in the fire pit out front, and visitors enjoy a chat around the fire with each other and the gracious owners, Bob and Joe. WOW!!!!!!!!! If you are headed to the Rainier Mt. and need a nice place to stay a few days , this is a cozy,private place. 16 Cabins to chose from . Great for that special get away. Hiking,Biking,Climbing or just resting . I stayed 3 days and came home a new person( the serenity ) You just have to try this little place. No Tv / no Phone /no Ac/ no pets/ no Range.
