One of the best things about this place is it is very near to the park, the entrance takes about 15 minutes, and paradise inn about an hour from the lodge - sadly the close proximity of the park has led to people here taking things for granted and not making this a quality or convenient place to stay. We stayed at the suite which is a smaller attached building - it is a flat open conference room that they converted 4 bed room. The entrance is clean, but the sheets have bugs which gave me hives - but hey, I could at least drive to the park right next morning.

Great staff | Clean | Comfortable stay $$ We decided to do a quick trip to Mt. Rainier and needed a pet friendly hotel for two nights. This place was perfect! We arrived 30 minutes early and were warmly greeted by a lady that checked us in. The lodge is cute and warm with the fireplace going. They have a wine hour from 5 - 8pm, though I couldn't drink because I'm pregnant. Room 102 - a few steps away from the lobby. Exceptionally CLEAN!!! Bathroom, towels, bedding, floor.... all clean. No scary stray hairs or questionable spots on bedding and towels. For a pet friendly place, they do an excellent job at getting rid of any pet dander. The room has a microwave, mini fridge, tv, and a Keurig. Bathroom has a hair dryer and nice complimentary shampoo/conditioner/soap/lotion set with makeup wipes. Don't leave your pet in the room unattended. Bed was comfy enough for us, although that will vary per person. I liked their pillows because it wasn't too stiff or too soft. Noise level - quiet hours start at 9pm. We were lucky and had good neighbors, but I woke up in the middle of the night at 1am because the people above us came home and decided to take showers. I understand people have different schedules, but if you're staying on the 2nd floor, PLEASE be mindful of your heavy footsteps. I could hear the woman talking to someone and going back and forth from the bathroom to the main room before taking her shower. I didn't sleep well the first night, but the second night was much better (probably because they left). Breakfast bar is good. 7:30 - 10:30 Eggs, sausage, gravy, bananas, muffins, oranges, cereal, waffles. They have some extra stuff in the mini fridge at the end: hardboiled cage free eggs, milk, various juice cups, fruit cup... Food in the area... restaurant in Longmire is open until 7:00, and there's copper creek inn down the road about 5 - 10 min away open until 7:00 also. Only option after that time is at the local "watering hole" in town. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay here and would love to come back.

Someone else's hair in the shower

This place is disgusting. The carpet in the room was stained, the shower curtain was stained a brownish color, there was gunk stuck to the ceiling, the shower head was lower than my head (I'm 5'6"), and the shower drain was clogged. The bathroom sink is clogged. There is no coffee in the morning. Even if there was coffee, the only cream they have is powdered and there's a hair on it. They share one spoon for everyone to stir their coffee. They were supposed to have their crappy breakfast outside our doors by 9am. I left by 9:20 I couldn't stand to wait in that crappy place any longer

Rainier National Park entrance. As soon as we parked to check-in, Bob and Joe (Owners/Managers) made us feel welcome. The cabin we had was great. It was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The views were wonderful. It was so peaceful and quiet. A great place to relax and re-energize. While there, Bob and Joe shared their knowledge of Mt. Rainier and the surrounding area. Telling us the best places to eat, all about the mountain, where to go for pictures, trails to walk, best places to see wildlife, and so much more. They had a campfire one night and provided everything we needed to make Smores. Many of the guests came out to the campfire, enjoying the smores, the conversation, and the stars. It turned out that one couple had stayed there several times before. At the time we were there, the park required vehicles to carry snow chains. They rent chains at the lodge for half the price of the places you can rent them in town. Unfortunately, they didn't have our tire size but immediately offered to go purchase a set for us to rent. By far, Stone Creek lodge was the best place we stayed during our trip. If headed to the National Park or the Ashford area, we highly recommend Stone Creek Lodge.

The communication from the hotel from booking to checkin was on point. We reached late in the evening and were able to find the room keys in an envelope with my name on it. Also, the room had more than enough supplies (towels, shampoo, blankets, pillows etc). The area around the hotel is also good. There is a fish pond near the rooms. One of the managers saw my kids watching the fish and generously offered some fish food for them to feed the fish. Will definitely stay here again if back in the area.

Paradise Village - Ashford, WA…read more I stayed in one of the Tiny Cabins with a private bathroom and, speaking purely from a single-occupancy perspective, it felt surprisingly spacious. High ceilings, big windows, and tons of natural light with a beautiful wilderness view. And before anyone worries--yes, the windows have solid blinds when you actually want to sleep. The bed was huge and very comfortable. My room had both a coffee machine that made legitimately good coffee and a fancy electric tea pot... which I now want for my house. Anyway. The modern heater made it easy to dial in whatever temperature I wanted, which I appreciated. Inside the cabin you've got a kitchen sink, shower, mini-fridge, and yes--a fancy toilet (worth mentioning). Everything felt clean, modern, and thoughtfully laid out. The grounds themselves are really nice to wander, and the location doubled as a gorgeous wedding venue for my cousin. I'd absolutely recommend Paradise Village both for a quiet getaway and as a wedding venue. Peaceful, comfortable, and well done.

The land itself is breathtaking--towering trees, soft mossy trails, and peaceful stillness that invites you to breathe deeper and slow down. I spent hours wandering the hiking paths and felt like I was in another world. I stayed in the Tahoma cabin, and wow--it was cozy, peaceful, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. (They must have updated them based on what I have read from previous posts!) Every detail in the space felt intentional and grounding. After a day of exploring, soaking in the outdoor hot tub with that stunning view of the trees was exactly what my body and mind needed. And the lofted sauna? Absolutely the coolest (and warmest!) little gem--such a unique and relaxing experience. What really made this place special, though, was the warmth and kindness of the staff. They were so welcoming, thoughtful, and genuinely cared about creating a healing experience for guests. Also: there's a sweet dog who wanders the grounds and melts your heart--truly the cherry on top. Wellspring isn't just a place to stay--it's a place to remember. I already can't wait to come back.

The four bedrooms were set up perfectly for our family that only includes one pre-teen. This place is excellent and well worth the money. It is a private, secluded lodge situated in a spot that is right before the entrance to Mt Rainier. The stream running through the backyard created a serene environment and the hot tub was perfectly set against it. Be careful with that hot tub in the snow - once you get in, you may not be able to get out! :) There are some disadvantages that you should know about. The water pressure in the bathroom was very weak. The power went off 3x, we called the numbers listed in the book and they eventually returned our calls a few hours later. Unfortunately, once we arrived, we noticed a note on the front of the dishwasher that said "out of service". Okay, no biggie... *trying to be understanding as things happen*. Entered the cabin further and noticed pretty peculiar smells throughout (I thought, well, its a cabin in the PNW, so I imagine it may smell peculiar and soggy from time to time). As I tried to reason that the cabin was worth the $370ish we spent per night, I was proven more and more during our stay as to why that wasn't the case... Tried to turn on the fireplace in the main house, doesn't work. Shower spout is falling off, possibly black mold in the smaller bathroom located by the front door, walls are extremely dirty (especially in high touch areas and behind the garbage cans). Cobwebs in the corners, dead bugs hanging from the light fixtures, igniter on the BBQ doesn't work, couches were sticky and smelled odd, white towels were noticably dirty even though they were washed, beds were so uncomfortable and horrible that we left a day early... The good part of this trip is that we did spend time as a family and played some pool, hiked Mt. Rainier, and enjoyed some down time. Pool table was a great thing to have access to during our stay. The creek in the back is very beautiful in the early morning/late afternoon...but that's about it. I would not return and would not recommend others to stay here & spend this type of money per night until the owners choose to put some TLC into the place to improve its current state. Also, if you are looking for a secluded place to stay, this one isn't it. The Lazy Bears cabin is located in a small-ish community/HOA with many neighbors nearby.

The bathroom wasn't cleaned properly--hair was everywhere: on the towels, in the shower, and even on the bed. That immediately raised concerns for me, so I checked more closely. Underneath the beds were piles of dust and trash left behind from previous guests. To make things worse, one of the two bed frames was broken. It made me question how clean the sheets, blankets, and pillows really were, and honestly had me worrying about bed bugs. The bathroom also had a pin needle sticking out of the floorboard--something that could easily injure you if you're barefoot. On top of that, the window blinds were damaged with several pieces missing, leaving gaps big enough for people walking by to see right into the room. The WiFi barely worked as well, which just added to the frustration. We had booked two nights, but after the first night, we couldn't stay any longer and decided to leave and find another place. We only chose this inn for its location near the park, but overall, the experience was highly disappointing. I would not stay here again.
