    Close up of dead bugs

Do not waste your money!! For $175 a night this place is way overpriced for what you get. I have a list of complaints that I would have overlooked if the price were $100 less. 1) dead bugs in bathroom 2) uncomfortable bed 3) smelly pillows - smelled like feet 4) very spotty internet 5) road noise at all hours of the day and night 6) noise from neighboring rooms. Again, I would have gladly overlooked these unpleasantries had the price been reduced....I do not recommend.

I have mixed feelings about our stay here. We were charged $160 for the basic room, plus a $20 pet fee. As we were booking just the week before, and needed a spot that was dog friendly before our backpacking trip, we had a tricky time, and this was the last available option. When we first checked in, we were assaulted by VERY strong orange cleaner smell. It was potent, and we left the windows open and went for a walk to stave off the headache. Later on my companion realized everything she left on the floor smelled like cigarette smoke, which again, ugh, probably why the smell of cleaner was so strong. The beds were fine, and had synthetic down filling and not real goose down (not a problem, just a note!) There was a microwave and a mini fridge, which had two water bottles and York mint patties for us, which was a nice touch. The bathroom was fine, but not fully washed. There was blonde hair still in the bathtub, which made us choose to not take a bath like we'd both been excited about since we have tiny tubs at home. When my 5' 4" friend cried out 'oh no, the shower head is low!' I knew I was in for trouble at 5' 11". At the highest setting, it hit me at chest level. The big issue with this motel is that while service is fantastic while the desk is open, it's non existent when it's not. We were kept up from 10pm-midnight by our neighbors TV, and when we rejoiced at it being turned off, it was replaced with even louder Christian radio with a hellfire and brimstone preacher from midnight until 7am. We got absolutely no sleep, and had no front desk to call to rectify the situation after knocking to no avail. Breakfast was good, there are fresh made waffles, biscuits and gravy, mediocre sausages, scrambled eggs, yogurts, fruit juices, and quakers oatmeal. Checkout was simple, and just involved dropping your keys in a bin, inside or outside depending on whether it was before or after 7am.

However, the manager was very nice and checked in on us both days to ensure we were okay. The customer service was great, my only advice is to make sure key cards work prior to leaving for the day. We tried 2 different cards to two different rooms and neither worked. Eventually, we were able to get into our room which I would say was okay. Comparable to a motel 6, the TV and smart lamps were probably the only plus to the room. The shower was very weird and it was hard to get the hot water to actually stay on, so you kind of had to shower quick. Plus since we're so close to the mountains, it was so cold in the room just because of air getting through cracks, but it was so hard to regulate and keep it at a comfortable temperature in the room. Overall, if we return, we more than likely will try out their cabin.

There was a microwave and nice fridge which was useful since there was no breakfast at the hotel. They could have put in some extra hooks in the bathroom. There was nothing to hang a hand towel on. There was a faint sewage smell in the bathroom which was off -putting. The rest was all good. We reached a couple hours before check in time but they gave us a room right away. We got room number 1 which is right by the busy road. That might be annoying to some people but it didn't bother us. It was nice to have a big open ground right out our front door. Five minute drive from the hotel, there are a bunch of restaurants and a couple grocery stores and gas stations. Drive to the Stevens canyon entrance of the park is 45 minutes. So, convenient stop if you have to stay outside the park.

The rest of the family had the Beecher Mac and Cheese (do not recommend) and the burger (recommend). Service was great and it was a nice to sit down for a meal. Dinner - Enjoyed Burrata and Tomato, which was more like caprese than what 8' used to for burrata. The short rib (off menu, sub for being out of pork shank) was very good. Too much sauce, but if you remove it from the sauce, it's very good. Son had the prime rib, which was good, but a little on the cool side - wish it was warmer. 3 stars for the Inn Parking: Upon arrival, we faced the most challenging crowds and the inn does not have parking for their guests. You are stuck fighting traffic with the masses, which means you might be parking in overflow and moving your car when the crowds die down at night. Amenities: The crowds don't end there. The Inn is flooded with visitors, making amenities unenjoyable (or available) for guests. Room: The room came with a standing fan to use with windows open for AC. There appeared to be AC in the room, but the temperature only went up. The beds were comfortable and we had a private bath, so that was a plus (some rooms share baths). Despite the cost and crowds, it is worth the stay to have early access to the trails and a parking spot, once you find one, for the duration of your trip.

The restaurant having many seats, the kitchen seemed only able to support about a third to half of the customers (at least that's what we were told). This meant that even when the dining room appeared empty, we still had to wait 15 minutes for a table and they don't take reservation. The food was a bit overpriced, which we expected, but it tasted pretty good. The small cafe was great for grab-and-go items and coffee, but it was quite understaffed, leading to long wait times. On the positive side, our room was very clean, and the lobby area was cozy with plenty of seating for guests to relax.

You could stay at another hotel for half the price and still get the same accommodations and service, plus some. The only thing that was really different from any other hotel, is that there is a slots gaming room in the lobby and a casino right next door. The staff was decent at check in, however, they gave us no information about anything the hotel had to offer. They gave us the directions to the elevator to get to our room and that was it. The food that was available next door was okay, but very greasy. The employees at both coffee shops within the hotel and casino, do not know how to make espresso drinks very well, if at all. The room was nice, spacious and clean. The bed was decent and they did give you two complimentary waters in the fridge. They also had an abundance of dogs on the premises. It did not seem as though they do a very good job separating the rooms that animals are allowed in vs. not allowed in. The air vent in the room made a very loud noise that was pretty annoying when trying to sleep. The hotel was overall I say 3 stars. There was good and bad. I wouldn't necessarily choose it at a place to go again, unless I had to go to the area.
