This review is for the restaurant. Probably the best place to eat in the area that we found. Had the "rodeo burger" special of the day and it was very good. The pie and cookies are made on site and good as well. The waiter was very friendly and great at his job. The place had a cool vibe and lots of history. It has been around since 1920 when it opened as a lunch counter and automotive shop. Recommend over the other places we tried. Check hours of operation, was limited during off season. read more

Can't speak to the amenities for the hotel, but the food was bomb. Had an absolutely delicious burger and a beer after climbing Mt Rainier. Amazing service, amazing service, AMAZING SERVICE! We stayed in mount rainier and decided to visit this restaurant since is was close by and we're very happy we did! I got the chicken caprese pasta with extra pesto (would recommend). It was delicious! The sundried tomatoes make it very good! Would definitely recommend ! The dining room has a wooden lodge feel which was very cozy and made the experience that much better. The fried cod was also very good, not too oily ! We got the blackberry pie also which is very good. As for service, the waitresses and chef were very nice ! They accidentally over cooked the salmon and were very understanding about the situation, they never made us feel like were a bother. Always a welcoming environment. Okay. First of all to be fair the night we ate at the resturaunt they were super busy with a party of 25 coming in right after we sat down. The waitresses were very efficient as they were so busy. We got our food in a timely manner. Started with the mixed green salad and a mini loaf of bread and delicious blackberry butter! I had the salmon with blackberry glaze rice pilaf and mixed veggies. The salmon was okay, nothing special or much flavor. The glaze helped. Rice pilaf was dry and veggies were cold. (mixed zucchini and peppers) I didn't eat them. Husbands flat iron steak was over cooked but he enjoyed it. We passed on dessert. Little over priced for small portions. Check out my pictures in comparison of business owners pictures. Wish our plates had that much food on them! Review of accommodations: We stayed in the art studio cabin. It was very clean and warm when we arrived. Great snuggly queen bed. Nice touch with a Christmas tree. Negatives would be lack of kitchen utensils and serving bowls. Lights on path to hot tub didn't come on till late in evening. Lights around gazebo were out. We stayed in the Snow Cabin for two nights and it was terrific. Newly tiled floors, good beds with homemade blankets and that great forest smell. Have to walk to bathroom but it's a very short trip. We ate at the restaurant on our last night and the food was excellent. A great place to stay. Highly recommend! read more

We came in expecting a regular diner with knowledge that their blackberry pie was to die for. We sat down for lunch and had an open face turkey and cranberry sandwich (daily special) and the cheeseburger, then ending with the black berry pie a la mode. First of all - wow. The mash was to die for (served as part of the turkey sandwich. The turkey was filled topped with delicious gravy - I would come back just for this! The burger was alright , nothing special. Went on a Sunday afternoon, hoping to grab a quick bite to eat before our hike, but turned out to be over a 2 hour venture. Took us about 20 minutes to get seated even though we were told 5 minutes. Then waited about an hour for our food to come out for 4 people. Mostly likely we were forgotten outside since larger or similar size groups who were seated after us were already done before we were served. Eventually we inquired and food came out. Wings were a bit salty but otherwise standard American food. Pie was good but have had better. Servers were nice and not sure what the delay was all about and wish we got an explanation or some sort of updates along the way that didn't make it so obvious they had forgotten. We visited on a Friday night in November. There was a good crowd, but we were seated right away and our server was very pleasant. They were out of what my Dad had hoped to order, so he was disappointed, but all of us found something. Food was average, but fairly expensive (guess that's a perk of being one of the only options in the area). All of us had fond pie memories from the past at this place, so my folks ordered that and I got a brownie sundae. It was mediocre at best. My Wife and I stayed at Copper Creek over the weekend, we had dinner here on Saturday night and Breakfast on Sunday morning. The staff were as friendly as anyone could hope for, they were extremely busy but did an amazing job seating and serving the hungry crowds. The food was Delicious!!, we experienced first hand why we've always heard such good things about this place. After our hike from Mt Rainier Mildred point and comet falls we were quite famished. Our traditional is to eat shit after we hike because, well, we deserve it after we burn all those calories so my friend suggested this place to me. They are famous for their blackberry pies and their cinnamon rolls. So my friend ordered some sandwich and I ordered clam chowder because I was freezing. In the meantime to replenish the fat that we lost from our hike, my friend ordered cinnamon rolls and blackberry shake as an appetizer. That was a good call. Now they don't mess around with their portions. We only ordered one blackberry shake but the extra was enough to feed me too and I couldn't finish it because of the amount they gave me. The cinnamon rolls were like, swirled in butter and they dipped Carmel sauce in it or something and it was delicious. I also thought I might die of heart attack but it's ok- it was good lol The only reason why I'm putting 3 stars is because they forgot our order. The people next to us came after us yet they got their food first and we waited good 20-30 min before our food came. And my clam chowder wasn't that great- it barely had any clam (it was just mainly potato's) and it was bland. I had to put a lot of salt and pepper. A bit disappointing. This restaurant was extremely convenient after a day of hiking on Mt Rainier. The restaurant also features a guft shop as well as lodging. They are famous here for their blackberry pie and milkshakes. I ordered fish with potatoes and green beans, it was fresh and delicious. The meal also came with a choice of soup or salad. I would like to have written a good review, because this is a local restaurant employing local residents, but I can't. I called in an order on a recent Saturday and was told 30 minutes to pick it up. Arrived 35 minutes later, and a customer in front of me at the counter, who had also called in his order, was being told that somehow his order was missed, and would he like to place it now and wait another 40 minutes. No thanks, he said, and left. My turn. I gave my name and the employee found my order in a stack of notes on the counter, but sorry, your order hasn't been placed with the kitchen either, would you like me to do it now? Yes, please, we're hungry and don't have a good plan b at this point. Five minutes later, one of the patrons waiting for her order asks the same staff person how much longer it will be; she's been waiting 45 minutes. Oh, sorry, it's been waiting for you for 20 minutes. Sorry we didn't let you know that it's been ready. My order was finally ready 70 minutes after I placed it. Two Copper Creek burgers with cheese, and two slices of pie, $51. The main reason you will elect to stay at Copper Creek Inn is because it is near the entry to Mt. Copper Creek Inn Pricing: The Copper Creek Inn website states, "It is a traditional log cabin with luxurious beds, a stone fireplace, polished log walls, views of tall firs and cedars, and the sound of Copper Creek to lull you to sleep." You would think, since it priced at just $175 a night - Fall 2016 - two-night minimum, that the solidly built cabin would be closer to luxury than rustic, but you would be wrong. Are There 'Standard' Fees? Yep... Here they are: * 15 days prior to date of reservation: 75% refund or full credit * 0 to 14 days prior to date of reservation: No refunds or credits, unless we can rebook the dates you had reserved. * Smoking in our cabins is strictly prohibited. You will be charged 3 hours cleaning There Are More Fees? Yep... there is an additional $70 (per visit) cleaning fee added on top of all your nightly fees. So, in effect, when you include the cleaning price, out pro-rated cost was 205.00/night plus tax. But Could It Get Any Worse? Well, I am glad you asked. It can! Don't feel like washing your dishes? There is a fee for that. "Housekeeping is provided before and after your visit. Excessive clean up after your stay will be charged to your credit card at the rate of $45.00 per hour." There is a small 'welcoming' sign in the kitchen - it essentially says, "Clean your own dishes or we will charge $45/hour to do so for you." I mean, who doesn't like eating off plates cleaned by someone with no accountability and could care less about you? At least the 'continental breakfast' (one day supplied, even though we stayed two days) is free. Note that the Costco prepackages muffins are not pictured (we were hungry). Hey, Copper Creek Inn, you have such great blackberry pie, how about just cutting a few slices, putting it on a plate, wrapping it with plastic then leaving it in the frig? Want to check in early or check out late? There is a fee for that. It isn't anywhere on their site, but it is indicated in their confirmation email, "We offer an early 2 PM check in or late 1PM check out for $50 each." $50 to check in early too. Well, At Least, It Is Rustic WiFi - Yes, No Or Maybe? 'A great place to get away from it all (ie the Internet).' The site doesn't address the availability of Wifi. There is a reason why. I called a few days before we went to ask about connectivity. I could hear dishes being washed in the background as a person answered the phone. I asked about WiFi, he paused, "Yeah, we have Internet. Then he volunteered, "The reception is good in the restaurant, but can be spotty the further away you get." So, you will get a chance to de-internet. Your connection will be like a fast 28800 baud modem (unless the cook is updating his Facebook page, then the connection will be at 14400). You Will Love The Toilet If You Are 5'2" and 105 Pounds: Ya' know, in my years on earth, I have sat on quite a few toilets, and, almost, could be considered an expert (12,000 sports page reading sessions can't be wrong). The toilet at Copper Creek is perfect if you are still in middle school (or younger) or if you enjoy doing power leg squats from a very low position. But, if you are an American male, who is at least 5' 8" tall and drink beer BYOT - Bring Your Own Toiletries: Well, unless you like to share used Costco shampoo and liquid soap. I know, I know, what should I have expected for $175/night? Kitchen - Barely: My wife cooks (a lot) so she took these scores: Dishtowels = 1, hot pads = 0 (used bath towels for hot pad), cutting board = 0, kitchen utensils = marginal (plastic). After reading the draft of this review, my wife made me take a picture of the freezer - something was frozen stuck in the rear of the frosted over freezer that would not come out. She also noted that the interior of the refrigerator is missing shelving which cuts the storage space in half. What pots and pans there were are very old with bad handles. On a brighter note, she reports that the tea kettle was fine. The hot tub is nice - the blackberry pie is great - the proximity to Mt Rainier is awesome. Copper Creek Inn left us out in the coold and rain when it was getting dark with children, after a number of email exchanges (at least two of them included my credit card information) confirming the reservation for a cabin. One of the staff persons (probably tired of having to deal with very frustrated visitors) in the restaurant (the lodge reception), and the lady at the lodge a couple miles away (where we were forced to stay for the night), told us he does this quite often. Grabbed dinner to go - great feel with everyone decked out in the warm/outdoors-y clothes. Little gift shop with local wines and trinkets. It seems that they were quite known for their blackberry pies, unfortunately I wasn't that hungry so I opted for the three bean chili soup with fresh bread and their homemade blackberry butter. My recommendation, no matter what you order, is a side of the bread and blackberry butter. The bread is served warm and fresh and the butter, well it's plain fantastic. *the staff seemed to be especially stressed and expressed that stress a bit to openly in front of customers. I left with a bitter taste in my mouth after watching one of the waitresses ride the ass of one of the other employees three times in my 20 minute visit. read more

We spent three nights at the Copper Creek Art Studio Cabin. A tiny little cabin, just perfect for a couple or a small family. The property is beautiful, other cabins are nearby but still has a secluded feeling to it. The hot tub by the creek was wonderful, relaxing in the warm water while listening to the creek rush by. The kitchen was well appointed, only a few things missing if you are wanting to cook for yourselves (we did) fortunately we travel with a wine opener;-) And we had gone grocery shopping before we left town so we did OK. The restaurant is great though, they can usually get you anything you need. Very friendly service, and good food. The cinnamon rolls are a must as well as a piece of their blackberry pie. We had a great time here and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing place to stay after a hike in the Rainier park. Such a beautiful place! read more

My husband and I visited Mt. Rainier NP last summer (2019) and ate almost every meal at the Copper Creek Inn during our stay! Absolutely delicious home-cooked "comfort food," great for big appetites after a day hiking in the park, or for a hearty "stick to your ribs" breakfast before a big day of exploring. The trout dinner was phenomenal, and they have a great local beer selection. The blackberry butter for the rolls was also super yummy. They have a very cute gift shop as well, you can buy some of their blackberry vinaigrette to take home as a souvenir! When we return to Mt. Rainier, we will definitely be back for more! read more

We're from Florida and are here in Washington for the first time for Rainier and snowboarding and Seattle... we were very hungry after exploring Rainier and happened upon this adorable spot. Stayed here for one night. It was nice and clean. The hot tub was amazing but there were a few very large downfalls. 1: They run the cabins like a hotel. You check in at 4 and have to check out by 11am . The whole point in renting a cabin in the woods is to sit by the fire playing cards, to walk down to the creek, to spend the day there. It isnt at all like a hotel where you are out and about and just need a place to crash. Check in should be much much sooner especially for the price. 2: It was FREEEZING! the one little electric heater/faux fireplace did not heat it up and the "heated floors" did not work. Ended up having to go for the smaller bed upstairs for the warmth :( 3:The hot water ran out before the Jetted tub was anywhere near full. So i sat even more FREEZING then I was before. ( i got in to warm up) 4: The price/deal. We decided to get a one night cabin. It was sitting empty before we called and sat empty after we left. Did they offer us a killer deal or any deal for the one night or even for two? Nope they didn't. So we paid just over $200 to drive two hours to a cabin with beautiful views that we couldn't see because it was dark half an hour after we got to check in. We then froze our bottoms off all night until having to check out by 11 am. $200 a night is a little over the top for it being so far out AND the fact that you get less then 24 hours for your money.(19 to be exact) 5: Add ons: The cabin sleeps 6 but to bring all six you have to pay an added fee PER person. To bring a pet? added fee, To Check in A whopping hour early? added fee. To stay only one night? an added fee. Late check out? Added fee. read more

Bed Bugs!!! We stayed at the Copper Creek Lodge over the Memorial Day weekend from May 24-25, 2014. The copper creek lodge is their largest accommodation. There were bed bugs in the trundle beds. We caught one of them and took pictures of it. The extent of the infestation was so much that two of my guests couldn't sleep well the first night, as they were feeling itchy. The next night they had to sleep on the couches. And one of my guests got red itchy blotches all over his skin after going back home. He had to see a doctor and take medication for 2 weeks. We informed the owners of this issue after coming back and sent them the pictures of the bed bug. We were offered no refund. We were offered a gift certificate of $50 for a future visit. Why would I visit this place again ?! It's been about 10 days since we informed them, and I see that they are still offering this property for rent on their website. There is no way they could have cleaned up the infestation so fast. But I guess they don't care, since they don't have to live there. read more

If you're looking for a good place to stay, don't go here. They don't care about the guests! The service sucks!!! It says there's WiFi but it won't connect, and if it does, you disconnect a few seconds later. We called to fix it, but they didn't answer. There's no maid service during your stay, and our shower had no soap. The restaurant is the only thing keeping this is business. And they can't handle crowds. There's barely any seats, and once you do get a seat, they take forever. read more

On our way to Mt Rainer we had a fantastic lunch at the Copper Creek restaurant (Review here: https://www.yelp.com/biz/copper-creek-ashford) and decided to "upgrade" the cabin we reserved to one with a fireplace. They only had 2 available, the one we settled on was Dreamweaver, for an additional $80/night. Right after we did a little exploring mountain side and had dinner, we came back to settle in at the cabin. ISSUES w/DAYDREAM CABIN: 1. Heater in bedroom did not work. 2. Fireplace (Why we "upgraded") did not work. (Luckily the bathroom heater worked and kept the cabin comfortable w/fans) 3. I called the inn after checking out the next day, explained that we wanted this cabin for the fireplace and it didn't work, and the man simply thanked us for letting them now with no offer of any discount. 4. The murphy bed pillows were obviously not clean, and had very strong odor. 5. Not that I really wanted to use the Wifi much, but it was advertised in this cabin. There was no coverage in this cabin. Was told it depends on weather which was perfectly clear for our stay. Setting was great - private and in the woods. The craftsmanship of the cabin was nice. I really wanted to like this place, but it fell short in a few areas. Would try different lodging if we were to return. read more

I gave it a 5 star review in part because of the limited food options in this area. In an area with greater food options, this would likely be a 4. We ordered the homemade cinnamon rolls which were delicious! Super fresh and not too sweet. Their homemade wheat bread was also great - especially with their homemade blackberry butter. I wasn't as big a fan of the blackberry jam or white bread. We also tried the Denver scramble which was solid. And yes, we had the blackberry pie a la mode as well. Yes, for breakfast.
