Arriving at Mounthaven was a breath of fresh air. The immediate smell of pine trees welcomed us to our home for the next couple of nights. The process for checking in was incredibly easy and fast. We had the keys to our cabin in less than 5 minutes. We even arrived 30 minutes before check in time! The gal that checked us in was so incredibly nice and informed us the office would be closed due to a private event but gave us a number to call if we needed any help. When we stepped into the cabin it was very apparent they took extra care to make sure the cabin was clean and put together. It was very convenient that we got to park right next to the cabin. Mount Rainer is literally .5 miles from this property! I've never stayed that close to a national park for the rates they charge. Although the cabins do not have air conditioning they left a fan for us. A/C is not necessary due to the tree coverage and the dropping temperatures at night during the summer. I would highly recommend this resort to all my friends and family for a summer vacation.

To Whoever Own This Place, The lady who checked us in had a bad attitude which she claims she is the owner! Super rude while speaking to us when in fact we were just asking a question! The owner (Zandy Balls) was very unfriendly and rude. We requested to be together NICELY, but before we even finished our statement, and we ask why its not a possibility to just be together (since there are 3 sites available that can fit us and very wide) she said"Because I said so" and "because I am the Owner", which was not a valid reason. She mentioned we are on top of leach field, but as an engineer I saw the leach field farther from our site! Being the owner of the property she should be a people person, but she is very very rude. Will not recommend this place at all!!!! If there is a Zero star, this owner deserves to get this 0 recommendation. We've been here for 3 days! They never refill the toilet tissues, paper towels and take out the garbage! I will not recommend this place!!!!! Thanks!

Stayed here with friends the first weekend of October. We lived in the Pine cabin so can't talk about the rv sites. The cabin in itself was really pretty. Not too big but just bug enough for us and it was really cozy. They had a full kitchen setup however microwave was not there but we just used the oven and didn't mind that. The cabin was opposite maple but through the night or the day we didn't feel like we were disturbed by the traffic. It was quiet and then there were these lovely chairs and firepit outside the cabin too. Firewood and kindling kit was provided by the management and we used that but inside the house we couldn't really get the fireplace to work. However there was heating in the rooms and we just turned that on. The bedrooms were tiny but they were clean and we really like the cosy feeling. The owners live onsite and in the office they have a good stock of card games board games, jumble pieces etc. That you can loan to play with. There were these small touches to various cabins and the office area that really made it stand out. We didn't run into any issues and the owner was kind to extend 2 hours late check out with no extra charges. So there was nothing to complain and its proximity to the nisqually entrance to mt rainier was also welcome. I am removing one star simply because I could not get the wifi to work and the owner didn't mention where we could find wi fi signal in the area. My atnt and verizon were dead which is not their fault but they said there was wifi so at least they could do a better job of getting a good roaming router. But I was there for just a night and so I simply enjoyed not looking at light screens :)

The new owners are great and are doing a very nice job on renovations. We rented a two bedroom cabin and it is very cute. We recommend this place if you are coming to Mt. Rainer or staying in the area. The owners are the best, my friend and I had a challenge with the fire and at 8:00 pm James came over and help these two city girls out - what a great guy. I recommend this place as a must stay when you visit MT. Rainer.

What a slice of heaven. The owner greeted us and they helped us back into our space. The park is small and secluded and beautifully rustic yet well maintained and very clean. This is my favorite RV park and if you don't like camping they have lovely cabins for rent. Just loving it here. There is obviously no cell reception but their wifi is really strong and works well at campsite.

Less than 15 feet between sites!

A magical, soul-soothing escape…read more I can't say enough good things about my stay at Wellspring Spa. From the moment I arrived, I felt like I'd stepped into a hidden forest sanctuary. The land itself is breathtaking--towering trees, soft mossy trails, and peaceful stillness that invites you to breathe deeper and slow down. I spent hours wandering the hiking paths and felt like I was in another world. I stayed in the Tahoma cabin, and wow--it was cozy, peaceful, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. (They must have updated them based on what I have read from previous posts!) Every detail in the space felt intentional and grounding. After a day of exploring, soaking in the outdoor hot tub with that stunning view of the trees was exactly what my body and mind needed. And the lofted sauna? Absolutely the coolest (and warmest!) little gem--such a unique and relaxing experience. What really made this place special, though, was the warmth and kindness of the staff. They were so welcoming, thoughtful, and genuinely cared about creating a healing experience for guests. Also: there's a sweet dog who wanders the grounds and melts your heart--truly the cherry on top. Wellspring isn't just a place to stay--it's a place to remember. I already can't wait to come back.

They had a campfire one night and provided everything we needed to make Smores. Many of the guests came out to the campfire, enjoying the smores, the conversation, and the stars. It turned out that one couple had stayed there several times before. At the time we were there, the park required vehicles to carry snow chains. They rent chains at the lodge for half the price of the places you can rent them in town. Unfortunately, they didn't have our tire size but immediately offered to go purchase a set for us to rent. Paradise Village - Ashford, WA…read more I stayed in one of the Tiny Cabins with a private bathroom and, speaking purely from a single-occupancy perspective, it felt surprisingly spacious. High ceilings, big windows, and tons of natural light with a beautiful wilderness view. And before anyone worries--yes, the windows have solid blinds when you actually want to sleep. The bed was huge and very comfortable. My room had both a coffee machine that made legitimately good coffee and a fancy electric tea pot... which I now want for my house. Anyway. The modern heater made it easy to dial in whatever temperature I wanted, which I appreciated. Inside the cabin you've got a kitchen sink, shower, mini-fridge, and yes--a fancy toilet (worth mentioning). Everything felt clean, modern, and thoughtfully laid out. The grounds themselves are really nice to wander, and the location doubled as a gorgeous wedding venue for my cousin. I'd absolutely recommend Paradise Village both for a quiet getaway and as a wedding venue. Peaceful, comfortable, and well done.

The four bedrooms were set up perfectly for our family that only includes one pre-teen. This place is excellent and well worth the money. It is a private, secluded lodge situated in a spot that is right before the entrance to Mt Rainier. The stream running through the backyard created a serene environment and the hot tub was perfectly set against it. Be careful with that hot tub in the snow - once you get in, you may not be able to get out! :) There are some disadvantages that you should know about. The water pressure in the bathroom was very weak. The power went off 3x, we called the numbers listed in the book and they eventually returned our calls a few hours later. Unfortunately, once we arrived, we noticed a note on the front of the dishwasher that said "out of service". Okay, no biggie... *trying to be understanding as things happen*. Entered the cabin further and noticed pretty peculiar smells throughout (I thought, well, its a cabin in the PNW, so I imagine it may smell peculiar and soggy from time to time). As I tried to reason that the cabin was worth the $370ish we spent per night, I was proven more and more during our stay as to why that wasn't the case... Tried to turn on the fireplace in the main house, doesn't work. Shower spout is falling off, possibly black mold in the smaller bathroom located by the front door, walls are extremely dirty (especially in high touch areas and behind the garbage cans). Cobwebs in the corners, dead bugs hanging from the light fixtures, igniter on the BBQ doesn't work, couches were sticky and smelled odd, white towels were noticably dirty even though they were washed, beds were so uncomfortable and horrible that we left a day early... The good part of this trip is that we did spend time as a family and played some pool, hiked Mt. Rainier, and enjoyed some down time. Pool table was a great thing to have access to during our stay. The creek in the back is very beautiful in the early morning/late afternoon...but that's about it. I would not return and would not recommend others to stay here & spend this type of money per night until the owners choose to put some TLC into the place to improve its current state. Also, if you are looking for a secluded place to stay, this one isn't it. The Lazy Bears cabin is located in a small-ish community/HOA with many neighbors nearby.

There were no instructions for operating the fireplace, and we obviously weren't getting it right, because the cabin filled with smoke. The cabin just looked like nobody cared about it at all. TERRIBLE: . The main issue is that the cabin was EXTREMELY dirty! We don't mind rustic, but this place was really just disgusting. There were cobwebs everywhere, and every corner was piled with dirt and dust. It looked like it hadn't even been vacuumed. Worst of all, there were sticky food spills and whatever other gunk all through the fridge, freezer, and cabinets. We washed every dish and pot before we used it. It also took 20 minutes of hard scrubbing before we felt comfortable giving our son a bath in the tub. The black stuff going down the drain was disgusting. We didn't expect to be scrubbing a tub on our vacation! There were food or barf spills or something on the carpet. It didn't look like anybody had even attempted to clean it up before we arrived. Don't bring a kid here. We spent a good part of the time trying to convince our son not to touch stuff or play on the floor or the furniture.
