There was one server, one bartender and two cooks. The place was full and the server tried to turn ppl away because they were just overwhelmed. That being said, we ordered and waited well over 1/2 hr for our food. My son's food sat in the pass through a good 15 minutes before it was delivered...cold of course. I ordered chicken strips and fries...I did not get any sauce or ketchup. My husband's meal came out about 15 minutes after ours. Not sure what took so long for a plate of nachos. As for the quality of the food, it was less than expected. The fries were dark brown, way overcooked and greasy tasting. The best part of the meal was the mozzarella sticks, but can you really ruin those? The server was trying, I can't really blame her. She was set up for failure. There was a bartender working. I went into the bar. One table. Yet this poor kid ran her butt off in a FULL dining room with NO help from the bar tender. I can't even complain about the service because I think she was doing the best she could to keep up. I think this is a good hangout for the locals, but during busy summer months they need to step it up and schedule more help.

Honest, clear and helpful. We stayed at the Rainier Cabin and there is nothing I would change, literally nothing. The cabin was inviting and warm, including the freshly picked flowers that were on the kitchen island when we arrived. It was spacious, well planned out and the kitchen was a dream. Downstairs bathroom has a hammered copper tub, great little treat! Upstairs had a river stone shower with two heads (3 if you could the hand held option) that helped after a day of exploring. Between the a/c and the ceiling fan we didn't feel the heat from the oddly hot days (every day in middle 90's and humid!). Outside there is a covered log kitchen area with a grill, adobe oven and picnic table. There is also a wonderful front covered porch and your own hot tub! You can take a short walk and be on the Cowlitz River I cannot emphasize enough how CLEAN this cabin was, as in I couldn't find any dirt. I usually spend some amount of time cleaning up something but there was literally nothing to be cleaned. Shows the tremendous pride the owners take in ensuring their cabin is truly ready. If you're looking to stay anywhere in this area, do yourself a favor and consider one of their cabins. We had beautiful and easy drives to Mt St Helen's and Mt Rainier. Rainer Cabin Review This was our 2nd stay (we came last…read moreAugust). Danielle & Rob provide a haven of rest like no other in their cabins (& TeePee!). We stayed in the Rainer Cabin again as we love having the huge porch & rocking chairs with a backyard and fire pit--the mountains as the backporch view. My girls enjoy the small goldfish pond & fountain just outside the kitchen windows which provides a lovely water sound for evening dinners. There is a grill (made our steaks perfect) and second chimney-style fire place under a shelter with a picnic table for outside barbecuing. Everything is clean and stocked with all necessities (including most toiletries, dish soap/sponge & laundry detergent!). It's also just a quick stroll from the river that runs behind it. The bushes lining the woods and long driveway were full of huckleberries, black raspberries, thimble berries, blue berries and cherry trees (last August we picked our fill of blackberries). My 10 year old and 1.5 year old daughters delighted in morning berry-picking. They now have chickens near the garden (enclosed & separate); which my kids utterly enjoyed feeding with Danielle. From the garden, we picked lemon balm for evening tea, artichokes and broccoli for dinner, and even snagged a few fresh strawberries. D & R have created a paradise getaway perfect for all ages and especially wonderful for our family of 4. At night, after the kids were snoozing, (we brought our baby monitor cameras) my husband & I enjoyed stargazing from the hot tub just feet away from the cabin. Mt Rainier Nat. Forest is just about 30 mins drive so we took a couple days to hike and sightsee. Packwood, a charming little town 5-10 mins away, offers a few restaurants, a market, & our favorite--a café (The Mountain Goat Café). Danielle & Rob fully furnish the cabins with everything you need (with incredible attention to details) for a cozy getaway as well as a kind and understanding attitude with the focus on providing a place of rest and retreat for their clients. It's a family-run business (even their teens help in the garden!). We will be back as soon as we can!

A magical, soul-soothing escape…read more I can't say enough good things about my stay at Wellspring Spa. From the moment I arrived, I felt like I'd stepped into a hidden forest sanctuary. The land itself is breathtaking--towering trees, soft mossy trails, and peaceful stillness that invites you to breathe deeper and slow down. I spent hours wandering the hiking paths and felt like I was in another world. I stayed in the Tahoma cabin, and wow--it was cozy, peaceful, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. (They must have updated them based on what I have read from previous posts!) Every detail in the space felt intentional and grounding. After a day of exploring, soaking in the outdoor hot tub with that stunning view of the trees was exactly what my body and mind needed. And the lofted sauna? Absolutely the coolest (and warmest!) little gem--such a unique and relaxing experience. What really made this place special, though, was the warmth and kindness of the staff. They were so welcoming, thoughtful, and genuinely cared about creating a healing experience for guests. Also: there's a sweet dog who wanders the grounds and melts your heart--truly the cherry on top. Wellspring isn't just a place to stay--it's a place to remember. I already can't wait to come back.

The lodge is maybe a quarter mile from the Mt. Rainier National Park entrance. As soon as we parked to check-in, Bob and Joe (Owners/Managers) made us feel welcome. The cabin we had was great. It was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The views were wonderful. It was so peaceful and quiet. A great place to relax and re-energize. While there, Bob and Joe shared their knowledge of Mt. Rainier and the surrounding area. Telling us the best places to eat, all about the mountain, where to go for pictures, trails to walk, best places to see wildlife, and so much more. They had a campfire one night and provided everything we needed to make Smores. Many of the guests came out to the campfire, enjoying the smores, the conversation, and the stars. It turned out that one couple had stayed there several times before. At the time we were there, the park required vehicles to carry snow chains. They rent chains at the lodge for half the price of the places you can rent them in town. Unfortunately, they didn't have our tire size but immediately offered to go purchase a set for us to rent. By far, Stone Creek lodge was the best place we stayed during our trip. If headed to the National Park or the Ashford area, we highly recommend Stone Creek Lodge.

Stone Creek Lodge is located on a beautiful property with an amazing central fire pit with surrounding grass and trees. The property is well-maintained, including the beautiful garden that livens up the area. We had the chance to stay in the mountain cabin as well as the double queen suite. Both offer various amenities with the mountain cabin offering an amazing hot tub. These cabins also include WiFi, AC/heat, heater in the bathroom, microwave, fridge, toaster, dishware, kettle, coffee pot (coffee grounds included) and snacks. Housekeeping and cleanliness is impeccable! As a former housekeeper myself, I was blown away with the standards that Bob and Joe kept the cabins in as well as the property! Bob and Joe host nightly campfires where everyone is invited, and creates a sense of community with everyone who stays here. You are sure to make acquaintances here and even get informed on everyone's experience while on the mountain. To conclude, our time spent on the mountain was one of the best trips we've had and Stone Creek Lodge contributed very much to that. Will be returning! - George & Leila

If you see it in person, it seems like you're time traveled from the first time it was established. They were also able to preserved some of the original wood and decorations inside this historic hotel. Alyssa one of the staffs is the most kindest and warmest person who always greeted us. Her and other staffs worked so hard together to keep the place going and cozy as much as possible. There's also a fire place that's available to use during winter. Also a complimentary coffee, tea and cider to help warm you after a chilly hike somewhere. Every where yo set your eyes in this place has a very special touch from people whose involved in this place. Glad we stayed here throughout our Juander Mt. Rainier. Best decision to book here! The creaky floor was one of the original thing here so t'was a fun bonus. Walk slowly fellow Juanderers.... Cons: Price is too steep and for the 10 days that we booked here we only got 10% discount and at the time they don't serve breakfast nor dinner. However, the manager was very nice and checked in on us both days to ensure we were okay. The customer service was great, my only advice is to make sure key cards work prior to leaving for the day. We tried 2 different cards to two different rooms and neither worked. Eventually, we were able to get into our room which I would say was okay. Comparable to a motel 6, the TV and smart lamps were probably the only plus to the room. The shower was very weird and it was hard to get the hot water to actually stay on, so you kind of had to shower quick. Plus since we're so close to the mountains, it was so cold in the room just because of air getting through cracks, but it was so hard to regulate and keep it at a comfortable temperature in the room. Overall, if we return, we more than likely will try out their cabin.

There was a microwave and nice fridge which was useful since there was no breakfast at the hotel. They could have put in some extra hooks in the bathroom. There was nothing to hang a hand towel on. There was a faint sewage smell in the bathroom which was off -putting. The rest was all good. We reached a couple hours before check in time but they gave us a room right away. We got room number 1 which is right by the busy road. That might be annoying to some people but it didn't bother us. It was nice to have a big open ground right out our front door. Five minute drive from the hotel, there are a bunch of restaurants and a couple grocery stores and gas stations. Drive to the Stevens canyon entrance of the park is 45 minutes. So, convenient stop if you have to stay outside the park.
