The communication from the hotel from booking to checkin was on point. We reached late in the evening and were able to find the room keys in an envelope with my name on it. It had all the information and instructions related to the room and hotel. The room was clean and was as described. Also, the room had more than enough supplies (towels, shampoo, blankets, pillows etc). The area around the hotel is also good. There is a fish pond near the rooms. One of the managers saw my kids watching the fish and generously offered some fish food for them to feed the fish. Will definitely stay here again if back in the area.

My husband and I just got back from an anniversary trip to Stormking Cabins & Spa during COVID 19…read morebreakout. This was the perfect getaway during this confusing and scary time. We stayed in the Raven Cabin and it was extremely clean and we felt very safe. Other than when we checked in, we didn't see any other guests the entire time we were there. The grounds are beautiful, the cabin was super cute and it was SO serene. The only suggestions I have are there wasn't any place really to unpack anything. Maybe put some drawers into the bed frame or find a place for a small dresser or even some shelves. The other suggestion is to update the microwave. It is super old and didn't have much power. These are just suggestions and they are minor, they would not deter us from coming back. Thank you for a much needed awesome anniversary getaway. We will definitely be back!

Breakfast area in lobby with some seating. WIFI My family is in eastern Washington, so when I moved to the far west corner of western Washington, the trip got a little too long. We chose the Mountain View Lodge the first time we made the big trip, because of the good price, and return over and over again because of the great accommodations. Every time we stay we have a comfortable room, nice breakfast and we can get out and get on the road quickly and easily. We have arrived very, very late on some occasions, and the owners are there, friendly and ready to get us checked in. Last time I stayed they had a small fridge in the room, which was new from the previous stay. One time my TV was missing the remote (I noticed right when I walked in) and they moved me to the next room over. I am an extremely light sleeper, but the motels on the highway location has never bothered me. The highway isn't very busy, especially at night. I have come here alone (I'm female) and with my husband. I have always felt very safe. I have recommended this motel to my family, who now stays there each time they make the trip to our side of the mountains. They have had nothing but positive experiences as well. I believe they also have little cabins behind the motel with kitchens. We might book one this summer for a family gathering.

The room comes with its own little AC/heater u can control super easily. The big open windows is MARVELOUS I spent many hours just staring at the scenery. They have housekeeping come by while ur gone to replace towels and tidy up. The shared bathrooms were awesome! They're literally 1 minute away (right directly across the cabins) and there's 3. Two of them are normal sized and one is bigger with a vanity. They give u towels in there too and shampoo, conditioner, body wash. Nice rain fall style shower head that's huge and aesthetic , and also a wand if u wanna handheld. Awesome! Theres also a laundry unit but they only take quarters so I sadly could not use. Still awesome that it's available though!! At will! The cafe was cute, delicious, and warm. The restaurant and was cozy and yummy. This whole place is so quaint and gorgeous just to walk around. It's 20 mins from a Longmire home, and about 30 from Mount Rainer. This was THE PERFECT choice. I switched here last minute from a previous place and I'm so so so glad I did. This was easily one of the worst restaurant experiences I've ever had…read more Our group came in after a hike and was told a mandatory 20% gratuity would be added before we were even seated. We agreed to it. At the time, there were only two other tables in the restaurant. Then we sat for 20 minutes without anyone taking our order. No water, no greeting, nothing. When someone finally came over, they handed us a jug of water and walked away. When my friend politely mentioned that we'd been waiting 20 minutes, the waiter smiled and said "Can I take your order now?" No apology. No explanation. By the time our order was taken, the restaurant had started filling up. A large table seated after us was able to order almost immediately and received their food well before we did--even though they ordered some of the exact same items. We ended up waiting about 40 minutes for our food. When the food finally arrived, it wasn't worth the wait. The burgers were dry and the overall quality was mediocre at best. What made the experience even worse was the attitude from the staff. During and after our meal, staff members repeatedly side-eyed our table, exchanged looks, and snickered among themselves. It was incredibly uncomfortable and unprofessional. Since we didn't understand the language they were speaking, we couldn't tell what was being said, but it certainly didn't feel welcoming. As I looked around the restaurant, I couldn't help but notice that our table was the only table full of Asians. I can't say for certain why we were treated so differently, but the combination of being ignored, watching other tables receive faster service, and the dismissive behavior from staff left a very bad impression. Poor service, long waits, mediocre food, and uncomfortable atmosphere.

We are very disappointed by their response and quite frankly, we've never experienced anything like this. We have booked trips at various campsites throughout the U.S., including State park and beaches, and even KOA's, but never have we experienced any location not wanting to refund us back our deposit. The resort is being inflexible & clearly must be hurting for money. For all the travelers out there, be very aware of this location and how they operate their "business". Don't fall victim to them.

We stayed here this past weekend - last weekend of May. Got a room for $325 for 2 adults, 1 child…read more Our stay was wonderful and we would love to come back again. Having said that - sharing everything there is to know before you book. 1. Expensive? Yes but the experience was worth it. This is the best location within the park in our opinion when planning to visit for an extended stay. Situated right at the foot hill of the majestic Mt. Rainier, the location cannot get any better. The night we stayed was also the night the blue moon was supposed to happen - a very special occurrence where 2 full moons happen in the same month and happens rarely across years and we were able to see the moon rise rise all the way to its peak right from our room. It was very beautiful. 2. Yes, the rooms are small and there is no TV (which I loved and have no complaints whatsoever) but parents with kids who absolutely need their TVs - get your own gadgets! Also, the room heaters work so very well - no need to carry extra blankets or layers. The rooms are stocked with additional blankets apart from the comforters on the bed but we didn't need to use them. Rooms are full up to date and personally, we found it very charming. 3. Amazing staff at the front desk. We couldn't get a room facing Mt. Rainier but the front desk was kind enough to switch our room to have a view of the Mt. Totoosh and it was great! We never asked - they upgraded us voluntarily. Also, they are super warm and walk you through everything with timings specifically highlighting closing times. They also offer board games at no extra charge which is amazing. Just check out and return once done. 4. Inn has its own dining lounge with a fine dining menu excellent staff and very nice food. No need to look any further. 5. Inn has its own coffee shop with excellent coffee and breakfast/snack options that stays open till 10pm. There is patio seating outside the cafe to savor your drink/food enjoying the beautiful view of the Mt. Rainier. 6. Inn has a beautiful lobby and gift shop. You can enjoy beautiful piano music live during the morning and afternoon hours. Lots of lounging options by the windows to enjoy the sun. 7. Accessible entrance with minutes from Myrtle Falls, Narada Falls, Reflection Lakes and Christine Falls. In fact the trail to the summit starts right outside the inn. 8. Inn offers parking as well. Definitely worth staying once but obviously book in advance to find affordable rates.

Well, we were not too worried since the site next to us had no campers (July 2) and the one on the other side stayed in their TT. ... THEN the 3rd arrived. UGH! The quiet people left in the morning and were replaced by two families and the other side had a good size group. They were overall quiet but the double, if not triple family site decided to make this their grand central. They had friends from different sites visit and stay. Midnight came and went and they were still loud but I thought, well, at least the music stopped. Kind of wish the music would turn back on because they got louder and louder. 3:45 AM and they were LOUD! I didn't want to start trouble so put my DVD player on. What would have helped if knowing that 10PM or 11PM was quiet hour, why wouldn't the host drive around at midnight to check on the noise level? This was what upset me. Let me tell you that the place was nice and I'm learning that when you camp with hookups they are closer together. Okay, that would be fine, but even more reason for the host to keep an eye on the party people. The place itself is clean and neat. Don't plan on launching your boat from here (or kayak) but there is a place just 2 minutes from here where you can. That's where we went in. The lake is nice, too. --- Let me take that back, if you are brave and more experienced than me, you may be able to launch kayak. I need a boat ramp or beach. ;) The place would have seriously gotten a 5 star if not for the lack of consideration I felt that the hosts had by not checking the spots after quiet hours. BTW, yes, I know it was a holiday weekend, but come on! 3AM!!!!???!!! FYI: I would recommend this on a quieter weekend or weekday.

Honest, clear and helpful. We stayed at the Rainier Cabin and there is nothing I would change, literally nothing. The cabin was inviting and warm, including the freshly picked flowers that were on the kitchen island when we arrived. It was spacious, well planned out and the kitchen was a dream. Downstairs bathroom has a hammered copper tub, great little treat! Upstairs had a river stone shower with two heads (3 if you could the hand held option) that helped after a day of exploring. Between the a/c and the ceiling fan we didn't feel the heat from the oddly hot days (every day in middle 90's and humid!). Outside there is a covered log kitchen area with a grill, adobe oven and picnic table. There is also a wonderful front covered porch and your own hot tub! You can take a short walk and be on the Cowlitz River I cannot emphasize enough how CLEAN this cabin was, as in I couldn't find any dirt. I usually spend some amount of time cleaning up something but there was literally nothing to be cleaned. Shows the tremendous pride the owners take in ensuring their cabin is truly ready. Rainer Cabin Review This was our 2nd stay (we came last…read moreAugust). Danielle & Rob provide a haven of rest like no other in their cabins (& TeePee!). We stayed in the Rainer Cabin again as we love having the huge porch & rocking chairs with a backyard and fire pit--the mountains as the backporch view. My girls enjoy the small goldfish pond & fountain just outside the kitchen windows which provides a lovely water sound for evening dinners. There is a grill (made our steaks perfect) and second chimney-style fire place under a shelter with a picnic table for outside barbecuing. Everything is clean and stocked with all necessities (including most toiletries, dish soap/sponge & laundry detergent!). It's also just a quick stroll from the river that runs behind it. The bushes lining the woods and long driveway were full of huckleberries, black raspberries, thimble berries, blue berries and cherry trees (last August we picked our fill of blackberries). My 10 year old and 1.5 year old daughters delighted in morning berry-picking. They now have chickens near the garden (enclosed & separate); which my kids utterly enjoyed feeding with Danielle. From the garden, we picked lemon balm for evening tea, artichokes and broccoli for dinner, and even snagged a few fresh strawberries. D & R have created a paradise getaway perfect for all ages and especially wonderful for our family of 4. At night, after the kids were snoozing, (we brought our baby monitor cameras) my husband & I enjoyed stargazing from the hot tub just feet away from the cabin. Mt Rainier Nat. Forest is just about 30 mins drive so we took a couple days to hike and sightsee. Packwood, a charming little town 5-10 mins away, offers a few restaurants, a market, & our favorite--a café (The Mountain Goat Café). Danielle & Rob fully furnish the cabins with everything you need (with incredible attention to details) for a cozy getaway as well as a kind and understanding attitude with the focus on providing a place of rest and retreat for their clients. It's a family-run business (even their teens help in the garden!). We will be back as soon as we can!
