Nestled amongst a canopy oasis of cedar trees, this recently renovated cabin features both and INDOOR and OUTDOOR hot-tub. Never did we expect how beautiful this experience could have been. We have never been able to find a place since that includes both types of jacuzzis, which is perfect after a long day of hiking. Another great thing was that the kitchen came stocked with great appliances and equipment for cooking. Lastly, the owners Janet and Pat were friendly and helpful. We absolutely look forward to visiting this part of the country in the future and staying in our beloved studio cabin.

The cabin has a nice woodsy smell even though we did have to air it out and it felt very cozy right once you stepped inside. The place is quite secluded with only one other cabin close by and the other by the owners. The amenities offered here is great with the free Wi-Fi which is very good for a far away place like this so close to Mount Rainier. The signal strength was great and we never had a disruption in service. When we checked in, Janet was there to greet us and was very helpful to explain about hiking options at Mount Rainier plus all the dining options close by in Ashford. They have a wide array of DVD's for you to borrow since they don't have any TV signal, but during our entire stay here we were always too busy to watch any of them. The cabin we stayed at was just terrific as it seems as it was recently not too long ago remodeled. It has a full size fridge, stove and even a dishwasher. They also have utensils and kitchen utensils for cooking with pots and pans included. The interior of the cabin was nicely decorated and you can tell the place has been kept up with all the guests coming and going with each new reservation. The bathroom is large and has a nice big Jacuzzi tub with a skylight. The main draw of the place was the big hot tub right outside our bedroom door. It was fenced in so you have privacy throughout and you can freely jump in and out whenever you want. The place also came with a small porch with a gas barbeque grill which we utilized once for barbequing burgers. It was such a great setting to relax and have a couple beers before heading to the wedding. If I ever come to Mount Rainier again I would definitely choose to stay at this cabin again as it is quite a long drive back to Seattle if only coming for a day trip. The amenities offered here just seems to make staying in the woods that more inviting! P.S. They have no cell phone signal here and you cannot get any reception once you leave the premises.

The cabin at Little Lake is airy and roomy and has a full kitchen. From the front porch you can see the lake and the adjacent playground. We highly recommend this cabin as a good place to stay near Paradise at Mt. Rainier.

My wife, 13 and 11 year old sons, and I stayed here for 2 nights in August 2019. We chose this place because of its convenient location near the park entrance. I would recommend it if you plan to take day hikes in MRNP. Behind the lodge is an outdoor hot tub if you are sore from hiking. The owners (Ralph or Chris) will greet you when you arrive and transfer the keys in person. Breakfast is prepared in advance and placed in your refrigerator units so you can eat in the morning and head off to your first hike. If you prefer a social B&B experience where you mingle with lots of guests, it's better to look elsewhere. It was a nice place for our family to stay for 2 nights.

The communication from the hotel from booking to checkin was on point. We reached late in the evening and were able to find the room keys in an envelope with my name on it. It had all the information and instructions related to the room and hotel. The room was clean and was as described. Also, the room had more than enough supplies (towels, shampoo, blankets, pillows etc). The area around the hotel is also good. There is a fish pond near the rooms. One of the managers saw my kids watching the fish and generously offered some fish food for them to feed the fish. Will definitely stay here again if back in the area.

The overall aesthetic of place was excellent, just a beautiful place to stay. The first impression just from looking at it on the outside says everything. Lots of plates and glasses, flatware for about four people, cookware minimal with missing pot cover. Hot tub too hot to use and controls did not work; could not locate temperature control. (Almost fell in trying to reach control knobs on the hot tub.) Picnic table rotted, missing hunk of its top, and we had to cover it with a sheet to make it usable. Plenty of outdoor plastic chairs. One big deck in front and one average sized one in back with hot tub. Inside furniture adequate with two futons as couchs, a (really low) rocking chair, cushioned wicker chair, and at least 6 dining room chairs and a folding chair. Dining table sturdy and easily seats six. The one, small bathroom had mysterious, tiny gathering of dirt in a corner. Mouse turds in some pots and pans (don't think we have hantavirus here, though). Beds comfortable. Sheets clean. One comforter had mysterious stains & was avoided. Downstairs bedroom with twin bunk bed very tiny with no screen on window, too hot too use. Upstairs bedrooms stuffy despite fan and open windows. House smelled musty. House hot. (Outside temp in 80*'s) Ladders (one open, one leaning on A frame of old exterior wall) for each up-bedroom very, very steep & narrow with no side railings, but a grab bar at the top. (No going to downstairs bathroom in semi-sleep state!) Overall, I do not recommend this chalet. It could be lovely with maintenance, up-dating, and effective ventilation, and more careful attention to cleanliness. The ladders are scary but kids would probably love them. Rodent entries into house should be checked and blocked. Also, humane traps could be used outside to catch mice. I hope the owners decide to fix this place up because I would return if they did.

The four bedrooms were set up perfectly for our family that only includes one pre-teen. This place is excellent and well worth the money. It is a private, secluded lodge situated in a spot that is right before the entrance to Mt Rainier. The stream running through the backyard created a serene environment and the hot tub was perfectly set against it. Be careful with that hot tub in the snow - once you get in, you may not be able to get out! :) There are some disadvantages that you should know about. The water pressure in the bathroom was very weak. The power went off 3x, we called the numbers listed in the book and they eventually returned our calls a few hours later. Beautiful location, beautiful cabin, wonderful weekend!

We booked the Lazy Bears cabin for ourselves, 4 kiddos, and my mother as a family trip (7 people…read moretotal). The ad/description/pics online make the place look very sharp and clean. Unfortunately, once we arrived, we noticed a note on the front of the dishwasher that said "out of service". Okay, no biggie... *trying to be understanding as things happen*. Entered the cabin further and noticed pretty peculiar smells throughout (I thought, well, its a cabin in the PNW, so I imagine it may smell peculiar and soggy from time to time). As I tried to reason that the cabin was worth the $370ish we spent per night, I was proven more and more during our stay as to why that wasn't the case... Tried to turn on the fireplace in the main house, doesn't work. Shower spout is falling off, possibly black mold in the smaller bathroom located by the front door, walls are extremely dirty (especially in high touch areas and behind the garbage cans). Cobwebs in the corners, dead bugs hanging from the light fixtures, igniter on the BBQ doesn't work, couches were sticky and smelled odd, white towels were noticably dirty even though they were washed, beds were so uncomfortable and horrible that we left a day early... The good part of this trip is that we did spend time as a family and played some pool, hiked Mt. Rainier, and enjoyed some down time. Pool table was a great thing to have access to during our stay. The creek in the back is very beautiful in the early morning/late afternoon...but that's about it. I would not return and would not recommend others to stay here & spend this type of money per night until the owners choose to put some TLC into the place to improve its current state. Also, if you are looking for a secluded place to stay, this one isn't it. The Lazy Bears cabin is located in a small-ish community/HOA with many neighbors nearby.

I can't say whether this place is worthy of the astronomical price, but this is a warning to people…read morewho book there: if you end up not being able to make your reservations in the event of family emergency the owner will have no sympathy for you and will not return a dime. Be wary of the cancellation policy which merely states that a full refund will not be available if you cancel within a certain number of days-notice there is no reference to HOW much you will receive back-which is nil. When I cancelled my reservations a good 6 weeks in advance due to my friend's illness, I was told I would receive the full amount only if the tree house could be filled on those dates. Feeling the untrusting vibes with this man I had a friend call a week before those dates-every day that month was taken except three, none of these were the dates I originally reserved. Upon calling the owner he denied those dates being filled and whined about how slow the business had been. I requested the house for another month and with another friend, since I had already dished out $600. He refused this service. When I called him on the injustice of making $1200 over two nights he became rude and accusatory and finally settled on returning $300 to me. Of special note: he became nervous about me bad mouthing his business and told me, in return for half of the money, that I not get on any internet site and say anything negative. Oops!
