Nothing fantastic about this place. Just another those Americanized Chinese place. The rice is better than I expected tho

Egg Roll
Jennifer B.

I used to stop here on my way back in to town and it was always a hole in the wall eatery that had good food. The eggrolls were my favorite and I always got shrimp fried rice. Ok so TODAY, I walk up to the joint and I thought it was closed but the "Open" light was on. I go in and was in shock for how bad this place looks now. It was never nice but really shocked to see the decline in its appearance. I ordered eggrolls and shrimp fried rice as usual. The food is different too. Eggrolls still had the good stuff on the inside but they were so greasy like maybe they had already been fried and set aside and then put back in the hot grease to warm them up??? The shrimp fried rice was good. I love how they put so many vegetables in it. It has onions, peas, carrots, mushrooms, celery, zucchini, egg and shrimp. Unfortunately, the shrimp they are using now are not as good as they used to be. It was missing a char taste that you get from a well seasoned wok. Like how they used to taste. I'm so disappointed. I probably wont go back. Please clean up the place and serve fresh eggrolls again.

This place is one of those places where you look at the menu and instantly want to order one of…read moreeverything. Thankfully, I managed to narrow it down--but the temptation was real. We started with the Pimento Cheese Hushpuppies, which I had high hopes for. They were a bit over‑fried and dry, with more breading than cheesy center, and the jalapeño bacon jam was watery and didn't quite complement the hushpuppies. That said, the concept is fun, and with a thicker, chunkier jam, I think they'd really shine. The Fried Oysters, however, were a completely different story. Perfectly breaded, not overly heavy, and full of flavor. My husband--who's keto and peeled the breading off--still commented on how good the oysters themselves were. If anything, we just wished the portion was bigger. The star of the starters for me was the She Crab Soup. Creamy, rich, and loaded with crab. It was one of those dishes you keep going back to between bites of everything else. And here's my pro tip: dip the hushpuppies into the soup. It transformed them from dry to delicious, and I even suggested to our server that the kitchen consider offering them together. For my entrée, I had the Bang Bang Shrimp Tacos with a side of pasta salad. The shrimp were cooked perfectly, and the Thai‑inspired sauce had a sweet kick that I honestly wish there had been more of. The pasta salad was classic but surprisingly good--fresh, balanced, and better than most versions I've had lately. My husband ordered the Salmon & Shrimp Scampi, swapping the pasta for extra spinach to stay keto. Both proteins were cooked beautifully, full of flavor, and plated generously. Overall, the meal had a few highs and a couple of misses, but the quality of the ingredients and the creativity of the menu make this a place I'd absolutely visit again. With a little fine‑tuning on a few items, 2 Twelve has the potential to be truly exceptional.

Amazing food! Ed is a phenomenal chef!!!…read more My partner ordered an amazing seafood pasta. The sauce was excellent! I wanted to take his plate! LOL. My meal, the Charleston Crab Cakes, was really good too (I asked that they put the creamed corn on the side -- the crab cakes will come on top of the creamed corn if you don't make a special request). But when (not if) we return, I will be ordering the seafood pasta for sure because it was that good! A friend recommended the pork chops and the burgers. The ambience is quaint and the indoor dining space is very small and cozy. There was a bit of a wait when we arrived. I recommend making a reservation if you don't want to dine outdoors. It was January so too cold for us to eat outdoors because there is no heating and the overhead fans were on! Also, please bring a little patience for parking because this restaurant is in an area of downtown with limited parking.

So when I say the "whole world", I mean it! Bre, one of the servers, and the rest of the staff always take good care of me. The room temperature is comfortable which is a biggie for me. It's a cozy place to hang with family or friends. They are known for their pizza and burgers, as well, but the Cobb Salad is my go to. It is reasonably priced and takes me 2 days to eat. It's love at first sight.

We waited longer to be seated than need be considering it was a virtually empty restaurant. Wait staff was walking around tending to the few tables, but we weren't greeted. Our waitress was nice/friendly, but not very attentive. All the wait staff were wearing (too short) shorts and T-shirts, looking like they just got back from the beach. Husband ordered a burger, medium, with fries. I ordered the ribs with chips and mac n cheese. The food came SUPER QUICK. From order to the time it came out, it couldn't have been more than FIVE minutes. Sadly, the food was just warm, and mediocre, AT BEST! Husbands burger was nearly raw. Sent it back. My ribs were almost cold by the time his replacement burger came out. It took at least ten minutes. This time, it was WELL DONE, and not even juicy. Rather than send it back, he ate it. He was hungry. My chips were over done, the mac n cheese was greasy and slightly clumpy. The ribs were tender, but somewhat mushy, and not super flavorful. I WOULD like to give it another try, hopefully it will be better next time.

BEWARE OF THE RED PEPPER SYMBOL on the menu!!!! If you love spicy, indulge! If you are sensitive or…read morecan't handle spice, run faaaaar away from these items. Most places put a pepper symbol and it's not spicy at all, but this single red pepper symbol means business!!!!!! I'm sensitive to spice at the moment so eating my food was a bit of a marathon....but in a good way! Think runny nose & sweating hot with tons of delicious flavor. To start, we served wonton strips with a white yum yum type sauce which was a nice surprise. For our app we had the crab puffs (crab ragoons) which of course were not spicy, perfectly crispy and had the right amount of filling. I also ordered a dragon roll which came out after my main entree since the sushi bar was backed up. This actually worked out perfect because the cream cheese in the roll was a great way to calm the spice in my main entree. The mango and crab on the roll were very fresh, and the size was also pretty hefty for being an 8 piece roll. I could have easily made this into a lighter full meal. For my main entree I got the spicy basil with chicken (red pepper sign alert!!!), brown rice and miso soup. The miso soup was good as expected, the brown rice was cooked to perfection and served in a side bowl, and the main entree was plentiful with perfectly cooked veggies & chicken! This dish brought the heat but in a very good way!!! I couldn't get enough of that spicy basil flavor!!!! I only ate half the dish so looking forward to a delicious lunch today! Can't wait to come back and try more of their dishes but while I'm sensitive to spice at the moment I may avoid the pepper symbol for a bit!

I ordered the vegetable Lo Mein (without mushrooms & onions). I've had other dishes here, like the…read moreveggie curries, that were great. But this Lo Mein is the worst I've ever tasted unfortunately. The noodles were mushy and overcooked. The "sauce" basically tasted like oily vegetable broth. As you can see from the veggies in the picture, they are just oily without a char and without any flavors. The dish honestly just looks bland as you can see. I can't tell if this was cooked in a microwave or an actual wok because there's no caramelization of any flavors. Nearly $20 for this dish on top of that. A lot of locals prioritize this place over other smaller Asian options here in Mebane but I'm not certain if I'd return for anything based on this waste of money.
