So, I haven't had Chinese since moving to Burlington 3 years ago. I had a wonderful place in Raleigh that sadly didn't survive COVID. I have been craving for a while and so today for lunch, thought I'd give in to the craving. Now, full disclosure, I got delivery today. I have a few meetings I can't miss so I relied on a delivery service. I don't think it had anything to do with the food quality though. I ordered general tso's combo plate with a veggie roll. Additionally I ordered veggie lomein for tomorrow, more on this in a bit. The dish looked like Generals chicken, but had a weird smell. I tried a piece of chicken and was put off by a chewiness one doesn't expect with chicken. I thought it was just that piece so I tried another. Nope, gross chewy texture. The sauce wasn't spicy at all, but sticky sweet. Also, the rice had a very weird flavor. Blech. So much for that craving. The egg roll was actually pretty good if somewhat soft. The flavor was pretty decent. This is where we come back to the lomein. A single egg roll and 2 pieces of chicken aren't really enough so I was very grateful I ordered an additional dish. Sadly, the lomein was seriously soupy. Just over flowing with soy sauce. Just ..gross. Well, it's not the best health wise so I'm glad for the result. I am now completely off Chinese food. read more

I NEVER write reviews but I just threw away two whole containers of sesame chicken it's literally inedible. Every single piece I tried was stringy and dark brown--can confidently say it's not chicken, or extremely old multiple times frozen chicken. It's absolutely awful. I don't understand what the bad reviews are for. I think someone was just childish however, This place is great, not only are they local to where we are staying but they are so damn friendly and with the people you see working in restaurants it's a really nice change to see a friendly happy workers that are preparing my dinner. The food was brilliant we had the shrimp rolls, House Lo Mein and the happy Family, it was all cooked well and tasteful. I will definitely go back. We have eater here one other time 3 years ago and decided to try again. Got soup and an egg roll for lunch. Would rank them both 3-4 out of 10. Had to wait 30 min for the food and the man and woman working appeared to be arguing the entire time. The bathroom was closed- sign indicated it was not working. The noodles for soup were very stale. We always come to Yum Yum's when we are getting Chinese food! The family is so friendly, and we love all their options. Their sweet and sour chicken, crab rangoon, and the hot and sour soup are my favorites! The meals are affordable and the portions are great for having leftovers. I love Yum Yum's! Their fried donuts are the best dessert i've ever had and my kid loves their chicken nuggets. Crab Rangoon is to die for and the egg rolls are so soft and savory. I go quite often so the owner knows me and she's just the nicest person, along with the kid that helps out! It's hard finding a good/decent Chinese restaurant in Mebane. I love good Chinese food and for a short while I thought yum yum was it....until I had an horrible experience. I usually order broccoli and chicken. It's usually fresh and has the perfect balance of chicken and broccoli. You get a lot of food and the price is very inexpensive...Well this night my order was completely wrong and the broccoli was mushy. I tried to switch out the food but wasn't successful. The cashier was rude and totally disrespectful! I won't be returning anytime soon. Yum yum is located in a shopping center so there is plenty of parking and it's easy to locate. read more

Just got home with my sesame chicken. It smelled amazing, it looked delicious but it was actually rock hard fried bits of batter. I can't tell if there's any chicken in there. I literally used a steak knife to cut a couple into bite size chunks and I really couldn't tell. It tasted ok but was seriously too hard to chew. I can say the sauce was delicious but geez! I paid $11 for rice with sauce. DH's sweet and sour was fine and thankfully enough that I didn't go hungry. We won't bother again. read more

Cheap cheap cheap! I got the sesame chicken lunch special and 12 crab ragoons for about $7. Yuck yuck yuck! You get what you pay for. I ate my fill and threw the rest away. There was more sauce than food. Even though nothing was tasty, my food was fresh and piping hot even when I got home. I happened to glance at the buffet. About 16 items, all appeared disgusting. Someone else walked in while I was waiting for my order and he turned around and left after looking the buffet over. I would have too. So, this isn't the most upscale Chinese place in the world. Especially if you eat in, it can be a bit unappealing. However, the food is the best in the entire town of Mebane. I have tried all the others and was not pleased with any. There is only one other that I will eat when Yum Yum's is closed (which they seem to be frequently and randomly closed for vacations and such). read more

Typical Chinese take out place, for the most part-- but the egg rolls were AMAZING. They are so light and fluffy and delicious, and probably the best egg rolls I've had in a while. I've been visiting Yum Yum since I came to Mebane 16 years ago. It has never failed to provide an excellent Chinese take-out--great for a quick dinner to pick up on the way home. We love the sweet and sour entrees. The egg rolls are delicious. The portions are great. I always have enough left over for lunch the next day. read more
