This place is a gem- I remembered I needed to write a review today when I was craving their noodles! We stopped in about a week ago after the stopping by the outlet. First of all, the service is incredible! Isaac is one of the nicest people I've ever met and he is just happy to see you and talk so please match his energy when you go, it's hard not to. Secondly, the food is pretty good. The portions are generous and I had enough for the next day. You could easily share each meal between two people. Prices are very fair for what you're getting. It's also very clean and none of the tables had food all over them. I saw someone wipe them down after each table was cleared. Bonus points for cleanliness! Food on its own gets 4 stars but the customer service here gets 5+ (yes, it's that amazing). Try them out! read more

This spot has potential, but my dinner experience was disappointing. Be prepared to smell like hibachi when you leave if you dine in! I ordered the scallop and steak plate, but unfortunately, the fried rice was overly salty and my steak was overcooked. My local neighborhood Japanese place is the best! I always go to Sakura for an easy night dinner and this weeks was lo mein. I enjoyed the chicken and shrimp, but the steak is also good. Love that this is the only restaurant in Mebane that you can get Poke at, and it's good! All the food portions are huge, fresh food and friendly service. Food is a bit over priced, however I always get 2 meals out of their portions so it all evens out for me. read more

We made a quick stop on a late Sunday afternoon and frankly I didn't have much in the way of expectations. I ordered a grilled salmon with vegetables. It was plentiful and delicious and very flavorful. My husband had a combo of grilled chicken and steak with vegetables and he was also very happy. The food is served in styrofoam boxes and the unsweet tea came in styrofoam too but I am so happy with the meal I won't be taking off any stars from the review. So I usually think of 5 stars as somewhere I'd go for a special occasion, but Sakura Grill is so much of a gem in Mebane that it earns it. Probably 4 stars for food (hibachi steak and shrimp + a side order of scallops) but the service for a counter restaurant was amazing and keeping that 5th star away seems almost criminal. On business, first time to order from here. You can only order takeout. The entrance to restaurant looks more like a convenience store in a bad neighborhood than a restaurant. The front entrance has a makeshift plastic partician between you and the person taking your order. The person that took my order was not very helpful or personable. When I picked up my order, I had to go back after opening my food in the car and realizing I had no utensils, napkins, or condiments. I had never been here but was very curious to go, I was craving a poke bowl and to be fair; my expectations were fairly low.. Let me just say, wow! I've only had a poke bowl one other time and it wasn't nearly as good (Spicy 9 in chapel hill) And the prices are extremely reasonable. I was very impressed by the quality and freshness, I've been thinking about how I need another bowl ever since! My sons got the shrimp fried rice and egg rolls, they loved it. The portions for the shrimp fried rice (and I'm assuming more of the traditional dishes) are pretty large so they were able to share the dish with plenty left over. The customer service is also on point, very pleasant and welcoming atmosphere. I will definitely be returning, I recommend this place for anybody who wants to try poke for the first time. This is one of my favorite places to eat in Mebane. The Hibachi chicken runs about $8, and it's such a nice alternative to all the fast food joints in the area. I was hesitant to eat here because of the limited number of reviews but I was very pleasantly surprised by the quality, quantity and flavor of the food. This will definitely become my go to when at the outlet mall. I had noodles with chicken and really, really enjoyed them. I rarely have leftovers and could only get through half my portion. Went here for lunch yesterday and it was so good we're going back today. Hawaiian poke has finally come to this area. Now I've had better but at a higher cost and at places that only sell poke. This establishment also sells other Asian dishes which our daughter and son-in-law tried. They said that this was their go to place for Asian food. I highly recommend you try. read more
