In the last year and a half since I moved to the triad area, I've probably been to this restaurant the most (or ordered take-out). This time, I ordered two rolls for dinner - sweet potato roll and shrimp tempura roll. It came with soup or salad. I picked salad with ginger dressing. The rolls tasted really good and they were fried perfectly. Service is always A+ and last night was no exception either. They greeted my friend and I fast and got us drinks right away. They kept our water cups filled up and we were in and out in 30 minutes. The place is small if you want to dine in but I have never waited for a table. She seen that the hibachi chicken an filet mignon plate that my son and I split was never eaten (even seen the piece of chicken he bit and spit right back out) and never once offered if we wanted to try anything else, or if we wanted the plate re-made or to take it off the bill or charge half for that matter. So I came here because the sushi pictures that are in Yelp look really good. I ordered the tuna overload roll and it has not arrived yet. First impression is the staff is not properly trained. For example I asked what kind of beer do you have the waitress said I don't know. She asked somebody to help her and that person did not know either. She had to look at the bar to figure it out. So there's nothing on your table that shows you what beers they have but they do give you a wine list and a list that shows what kind of sake they have. We've gotten take out from here many times, and it's always been good. I have tried several sushi rolls and all have been delicious. We've also tried the spring rolls and avocado spring rolls and both are tasty. We typically get at least one order of the filet and shrimp hibachi, and it's always good as well. Im not usually open to trying new sushi spots because I already have my top three sushi spots in Greensboro that are on my normal rotation (mizumi, imperial koi and sushi republic) however my boyfriend wanted to try this spot in Burlington. I was SHOCKED that it actually compares in freshness and even competes in taste with the spots I already love! I enjoyed how their were unique menu items, such as the crab jalepeno bites that we were OBSESSED with! I'm also particular about my clear soup, and this one is so yummy! My boyfriend loved the miso soup is well. All of the sushi is really fresh and each roll was unique which made them hard to compare. If I had to choose, my favorite roll that we got was the Tango Mango roll because it was so light and refreshing tasting! I also loved the tuna overload roll. Surprise, its a real restaurant! Harusaki doesn't look like much from the outside. I expected to walk into a counter service type place. Upon entering I was surprised to find that this is a real restaurant! My wife and I sat down to a clean table near the bar. The menu is fairly standard Japanese fair. I ordered the NY Strip Teriyaki with miso soup, a ginger vinaigrette dressed salad and a baby octopus salad. The teriyaki sauce was nice. More bold and a little less sweet than you find in most places. The beef was tender. The onions though were a little less cooked than I liked. The miso soup was good. A reasonable amount of vegetables in a pretty standard broth. The dressing for the salad was a bit thick and while tasted good didn't work well as a salad dressing. I would thin it with a little sake or mirin. The baby octopus had a nice flavor and was not at all fishy. The service was pleasant and a man I assume to be the owner checked in to make sure we were enjoying things. I look forward to trying sushi there in the future. read more

It was my first and LAST time to ever visit this establishment and won't recommend them to anyone unless I want that person to possibly choke on metal wire. What makes a good pad thai? The sauce. Their sauce is not good. At all. It tastes boring and it looks boring - no color, no green onions, no red pepper, no fresh crunchy bean sprouts, no fresh lime, flavorless chicken, just, meh. A very large portion of meh. The sushi is also pretty flavorless - it all tastes the same. There's a heavy reliance on chopped fish with mayo. If it says "spicy", it's chopped with mayo. That's just gross. I wanted to give this restaurant the benefit of the doubt because when we walked in, it was very busy and we were seated and given waters promptly. Unfortunately, a lot of the negative reviews about the service are true. Service was slow, and the server who took my order forgot to bring starters out until I asked so that I received my entree at the same time. She was very apologetic however. The food was pretty good. I ordered a sashimi deluxe (pictured). It came on a HUGE bed of ice (the size of the bowl was completely unnecessary) and some of my sashimi pieces [re]froze from sitting on it. It was nothing to rave about, but I was satisfied. The bubble tea is very terrible - definitely avoid! The boba is hard and small and tastes terrible. The drink is too sweet (had the black milk tea and the mango tea) and hard to drink after a few sips. This is definitely a college place - everyone in it (staff and customers) was younger, and they had a lot of take-out orders waiting for pickup. It's pretty small so large groups should maybe call ahead. The service is not good at all, so come with patience and friends to make conversation with you. I do enjoy this restaurant's specials and sushi. However, I agree the service isn't great, if you get one of the owners. They rely on their wait staff to pull all the ropes around here. Which is unfair and a horrible work environment. You can see the stress in the staff's faces every time I come in here. I used to be a server and I know the stress with this line of work, but the owners here make it ten times worse! Sometimes the hibachi is really greasy and the sushi takes too long to make. But is good. However their sushi isn't cheap and with the poor service it's almost not worth it. On top of the fact I tried to call ahead for my order tonight and no one picked up. I tried this on a whim because the rest of my family was out of town and I was dining solo. I didn't want fast food and I happened to be over near the shopping center. I went in and ordered and it was ready quickly. The first thing that struck me when left was how "heavy" the bag felt. When I got home I understood why. I ordered the hibachi chicken special (which is currently only 7.25 plus tax) and I was blown away by both the quantity and quality. That first experience was a few weeks ago and since then, this has become my families "go to" Wednesday night take out before we scatter with the kids for their evening activities. We all order the hibachi chicken special. We have some picky eaters so each one is ordered slightly different. 1 as is, 1 with no mushrooms and broccoli, and 1 with all veggies on the side. For the 3 meals its less than $24 before we add the tip and holy smokes is it a lot of food. Both of my picky eater children love the flavor and my frugal wife loves the fact that she has enough leftovers for lunch the following day. So glad we stumbled across this little gem - the staff so far have all been very friendly as well and most importantly, every order we have gotten has not only been 100% correct but they also mark the containers clearly so we know which one is which (not a huge deal for our family but shows a little extra effort and care). read more

This place was super good! I graduated from Elon in 2013 and didn't even know this place was here until today. I got the bang bang shrimp to start and it was really good! For my meal i got the Thai Curry Chicken and it was so good! It came with a side salad and miso soup which were both also very good. The server was great and very attentive.
