Very impressed with this lovely restaurant right in downtown Stillwater. This restaurant is also related to Lolo and Lolito. They also have a lovely little bar in the back room...it's intimate and great to hop in when it's open. We sat at a table close to the front door on a cold Sunday night. This place has a great happy hour which is every day from 3-5pm and Sunday from 3 - close. I got their delish old fashioned at the happy hour pricing. Yum and Yay! I ordered the Mediterranean bowl with falafel. It was absolutely perfect and the flavors were out of this world. Lots of other wonderful and tasty meals on the menu. Service was great and I can't wait to go back and try other items. Or maybe I'll stick with my fav so far. Lol.

FILIPINO CHICKEN WINGS tamari + sprite + cane vinegar rice cake $13.75

Wow food was so good. Wings came with a rice, carrot mixture. Wedge salad was yum. Get with blue cheese. Connected to 45th Parallel distillery - we loved it. Service was attentive. Fast. Ambiance is awesome- sit at bar.

Puttanesca, which is my fave

Loved this great spot. Many food options, happy servers, good atmosphere. Oliphant Beer on tap is hard to find and they have it! Hot chicken sandwich for one happy camper, two of us shared a delicious Bluefin Tuna Rice Bowl. Will return.

LIZZIE'S FUDGE BROWNIE

We went there for our anniversary dinner on a Wednesday evening. Wanted to order the Steak Frites, but they were out (apparently reworking portions of the menu). That worked out well as I tried something else, more on that later. We started with a couple of Old Fashion's. They have an awesome looking craft cocktail selection, but we wanted to evaluate a traditional cocktail, which did not disappoint. We split the Tempura Fried Shrimp appetizer, perfect, great with the red chile mayo and the pickled veggies! For the main dish, my wife ordered the Togarashi Bluefin Tuna Bowl and I ordered the Fried Garlic Noodles with Chicken, and of course we shared bites with one another. Both were excellent and highly recommended, the Tuna was sushi grade and melt in your mouth good. The Fried Garlic noodles were excellent and a pleasant surprise. Udon noodles with excellent seasoning and the chicken was thigh meat perfectly cooked and very flavorful. For dessert we shared Lizzie's Fudge Brownie, save room for dessert as this is served with Caramel Gelato. The service and wait staff were good as would be expected.

This is a cute eatery to meet friends. The place is cozy. Most of the 2 top tables are high tops with perfect mood lighting for the table. They have an open kitchen within the bar area. The staff were all very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. We loved the local fare. The fish and chips breading was perfectly crispy. The portion to price was a bit skewed, one piece of walleye. Pickles with the fish were amazing. I'd recommend this place for cocktails and a date night.

Triple Grilled Cheese

This is a very nice little restaurant in the heart of Stillwater. The service was very friendly and attentive. I tried both the Garlic Noodles and the Triple Grilled Cheese. I felt the grilled cheese could have had a better ratio of cheese to pesto, but it was still tasty. The garlic noodled were also good but a bit too rich by the end. The drinks were tasty and strong- great bang for your buck! Would return here

Carrot appetizer with bbq, hazelnuts.

A gem in downtown Stillwater. Crazy good, unique menu. Try the carrot appetizer if they have it. Trust me. The lightly breaded, crispy togarashi wings were just right. The Tellagio/honey/fried egg grilled cheese was amazing. Our server was excellent, very funny. Beer selection is small but great.

Banh mi and chips but no duck bacon??
Andrew W.

Really awesome. I came in, went to the bar, got served immediately. Staff was efficient, friendly. Food was great. Only thing is that the banh mi wasnt exactly what i was expecting. It was basically a hot dog with banh mi toppings. The menu said duck bacon and it was definitely not that. The chips and breakfast stout were great though.

Menu

Highly recommend this restaurant. Ambiance is vibing. Normal-to-loud (Friday, fall lunch). Food is incredible, many dishes are unique.

The Korean Fried Eggs dish - so delicious!

This place was vibing! We stopped in for Sunday brunch and it did not disappoint! I had the Korean Fried Eggs - crispy over easy eggs on a bed of jasmine rice, with chili oil flakes and pickled veggies - it was so delicious! My husband had the fresh pancakes with berry syrup - so fluffy and flavorful! The atmosphere was friendly and family oriented. Service was responsive and friendly! We will definitely be back to try more items on the menu!

Spicy Chicken sandwich

Have had good experiences in the past with this place, but let down on this birthday celebration. Our waitress was very odd...made uncomfortable comments, specifically about being a part of the "clean plate club", which I find a bit inappropriate as a service worker, and barely checked in with us. The food took a long time to come out (people who ordered after us got theirs before.) Grilled Chicken Salad- yummy, but did not include bacon as listed on the menu Proper Burger- good flavor, but definitely recommend getting a double because the ratio of bread to meat isn't great Spicy Grilled Chicken Sandwich- again, good flavor but small portion

Vote 4 Summer on the right. Can't recall the name of the drink on the left. Both were excellent.

My wife and I tried Stillwater Proper this past weekend. Great vibe overall - busy but a really nice setup with the bar in the middle and tables all around. We sat at the bar in front of the open kitchen (which was fun to watch actually). We tried a couple of the special cocktails (see pictures). Vey strong first sip but overall two really good drinks. We were thinking we were there just for a cocktail but ended up getting some fries as a snack - they were amazing - thin cut and cooked perfectly. Not exactly health food ... but so good. The service was a little slow, but it was pretty packed on a Saturday afternoon in December. We will be back.

Luke G.

We kind of backed into this place... and we thought it was great. The cocktails were fun (and spicy!). The fried noodle felt very fresh. The fries were crispy and we enjoyed the cheese on top! The fish was moist, but the battered exterior was crunchy. We'd for sure come back!

We were greeted quickly and everything was just on point. Our server was great and always made sure we were being taken care of. The complimentary bread and oil were good, we were even offered a little more once our food came. Had the risotto bistecca and hubs got the shrimp and grits. I was actually super impressed with the risotto. Hubs seemed to really enjoy his entree and wine as well. After checking out the dessert menu, we found a couple options there as well. They had panna cotta, which I can never say no to. It was out of this world. Hubs had lemon ricotta cheesecake, which was equally delightful. The service was very good even though it only looked like 3 people were working - they were very busy but did not show it They have an extensive wine list which is nice and decent price range from $12 upwards. The Rosè I had was pretty good and the Cab Sauv my date had was good too! The music was pretty loud - only on weekends I think , but when the crowds dispersed it felt more like an intimate wine bar- so I imagine during the week this would be a great place to meet up with friends and family. Did not get to try any food as we had just come from dinner but they did have some amazing smelling bread boards I would be willing to try! The owners are a husband and wife team who are very down to earth and like they get to know everyone who visits A cute place in Shoreview- when in the area I will stop by

Nestled in the city of Haugen, you will for sure find yourself wondering how and why this facility exists, yet I am forever grateful it does! We sat outside on the patio which has twinkle lights and overlooks a running creek. The trees above in the skyline are gorgeous and the entire experience is serene. We opted for the Heavenly Hibiscus which is a raspberry mimosa with an edible flower. This drink was delightful and fresh! For food, we split the charcuterie board which was filled with grapes, almonds, two types of cheese, crackers and salami. We also split the pizza and were happy that we could pick our own toppings for each side. One pizza was the perfect size for two! There was one canned beer and a sangria ordered as well. While truly a 5 star experience, I did think it was odd that the plates and water cups were paper as everything else was elegant and upscale. This observation is not enough to damage any lower score, yet I am still calling it out so others are aware / genuinely curious on why this would be ? I liked how thoughtful Next Stop is of their acts; there are about three guitar stands attached to the wall behind where the musicians set up. I sat @ the table just inside the door. As most bars nearly all tables are hi-top, there was one standard height table w six or eight chairs near the middle of the bar. I felt this was the Townie Bar....full w a bunch of chill, kind folk. I didn't take a picture but there was a laminated sign on my table: For food and drink service please see the bartender. I was pleasantly surprised when everyone stepped out during the music break when the lovely bartender passed by, she stopped to ask if I needed anything? Very kind, as I can read and I knew the request. The bar was pretty full but not squished in like sardines full, nor loud. They have a parking lot, not a lot of spaces, so you just park along the edge/grass of the lot and all is peachy. I enjoyed that a couple few of the regulars ended up moving to the table next to me and danced for a lot of the gig! They were kind and lively ladies! The music was great, the environment comfortable and welcoming, the people friendly and attentive and friendly service; I definitely don't see this being my last visit. I didn't see anything on their social media or website and didn't ask yesterday to find out what's with the fireman theme? I really like it... look up, helmets make some of the light fixtures and there are figurine type things on the higher bar shelves.
