I had a great experience! This is my second time as I went for karaoke for a work party before and that was fun! The sushi is great and they have great prices on food and drinks for happy hour. The apps are great size portions for the price. The music is great and it's a vibe. H street in itself is a vibe, so try it out! Now as far as parking, you might have to spin the block a few times o look on the street, but it's work it. The only thing that brought the rating down is the service was slow in the beginning even though no me was in there. I visited this spot for a quick Saturday dinner, and we loved this quaint little restaurant with its friendly staff and energetic pop music. My friend and I both ordered their poke, which was quite tasty; the fish was fresh and the rice was nice and warm, but I felt that the ratios were a bit off. The bowl was 80% rice, and, while I'm usually more than happy to just eat a bowl of plain rice, there wasn't quite enough flavor from the residual sauce or toppings to keep the simple carb interesting. If you're vegetarian, though, this spot is a great place to sample some fun, vegan-friendly Asian fusion dishes. Their menu features fun combos like the Dirty Vegan, a super flavorful vermicelli noodle dish with fired tofu and veggies. No thanks. Been wanting to try Toki Underground so put our name down there and came to sticky rice for a beer and appetizer to kill some time. Their menu is entirely digital, which sounded great since we were in a bit of a hurry to get through before Toki table was available. Somehow it still took 25 minutes for them to remove the cap off bottled beer and bring it up....they weren't busy either. All the food was out before 3 bottled beers and a coke. The food, not great but the tater tots were good. Sashimi not fresh, lump California rolls tasted "off". Music was good though. Just sat down and was immediately assisted, the Habanero Margarita is absolutely delightful and our server brought the drinks within 5 minutes. We got the Edamame appetizer and coated it in soy sauce, it was hot and really crispy. We ordered Chicken Teriyaki Bowl, Godzilla Roll, Rainbow Roll and SP Sushi and Nigiri Combo but all of it turned out delicious! Especially my Godzilla Roll!! I went to Sticky Rice this weekend and thoroughly enjoyed the food! For sushi we ordered the Club Vegan Crunch Roll, Hot Hippy Roll, and Dragon Roll. All these rolls tasted amazing, with my favorite being the Vegan Crunch Roll. The food came out so quickly after we ordered too! We also ordered the Garden Balls and Vegan-A-Pore w/ Rice Noodles which were so good highly recommend getting these two options. Overall the food was fantastic and service was quick. The price point also wasn't as expensive and everything we ordered was Vegan which was amazing. The only reason I'd say this wasn't a 5 star place was because of the ambiance. It's extremely loud and is definitely a bar vibe. It's hard to hear the people in the same booth as you as the music they're playing is so overpowering. I felt like the way to order was pretty cool too (you scan the QR code and the table number automatically populates, you pay for everything with card or Apple Pay and the waiter brings it over). This place has been on my list to visit for awhile - and it was quite delicious! If you're vegetarian, they have a pretty wide selection. I ordered the tempura as an appetizer and it was SO MUCH FOOD! I definitely took it home as well as my my entree for left overs. I had made a reservation for the patio, but when I got there they said the patio was closed because they were short staffed. Luckily it wasn't that busy so we were able to eat inside. You ordered your food via one of those QR menu codes. It was quite slow, and by the time we finally got it, a server came up to take our order. Absolutely loved every dish we got here. SO appreciate all the vegan options, and they were all incredible!!! The bucket of tots was heavenly, probably best tater tots I've ever had. Having to experience poor customer service while just trying to get out of the house for a little fresh air and drinks is too much right now TBH. Natto temaki - Vegan/ vegetarian sushi has hit the District and Sticky Rice does it well! This location has been here for over 10 years and I finally decided to stop by. My friend and I ordered the veggie pot stickers, monster island: which consists of 3 rolls snap crackly pop, Godzirra drawn and buttered. Then 2 orders of the Santa Fe rolls. Never would I think pot stickers without meat would be tasty, but this place makes it really yummy. The drawn and buttered had a nice creamy butter to compliment the tempura in the roll. Interesting concept better excecution. The Santa Fe is a must try. The combination of the agave with jalapeno and sweet potatoes created some nice textures. Overall, I was really pleased with the service and quality of rolls. They have a great selection of cocktails and drinks for happy hour. Typically, I have to get the token avocado and cucumber roll, but there's are so many options at Sticky Rice that I don't have enough fingers and toes to count! My favorite dish is the DIRTY Vegan! The dish is bursting with flavor with chewy vermicelli noodles simmered in rich peanut sauce with a heap of veggies. The only part of my dish that I didn't like was the fried tofu, it was really stiff. I would substitute it with shiitake mushrooms next time. The dish is a generous portion and not a string of noodle or veggie was left on my plate! My husband devoured his Tuna Poke bowl. The bite size Garden Balls veggie fritters were perfectly crispy and highly recommend sharing as an appetizer. They remind me of Indian pakoras. The drizzle of sweet Teriyaki sauce elevated the flavor. The Suzi 88 cocktail is refreshing and reminded me of Cucumber Collins. The blend of alcohol - Sake, gin, St. Germain elderfower liqueur, and sparkling wine - really worked well together with a nice touch of cucumber. Perfect way to cool off amid the summer heat! I wasn't a big fan of the Saketini, the plum wine was too overpowering and tasted like cough syrup. My husband enjoyed his jalapeno tequila, very spicy! It was scrumptious meal, and the service really topped it off! The server was really humble and nice. He didn't charge me for the Saketini and checked on us frequently. Sticky Rice has really good sushi, in a really up and coming trendy part of DC. I actually work near the restaurant and go there often. They have an assortment of dishes, but my favorite would have to be the Sticky Balls: Tuna, lump crab meat, and sriracha rice in an inari pocket tempura fried topped with scallions, wasabi dressing and eel sauce. At any rate we were sat upstairs next to the railing near a large party. Dark decor, red and black paint colorways and tater tots???? I thought it was an Asian style. Well nvm. We shared a bucket of the sweet potato tots with the sauce which are really so out of place but so very good to me. Very sweet and creamy inside- really an awesome food choice. As for the rest we split rolls, one is pictured, and I ordered the Mongolian beef which was just meh. I am not sure if the cook decided to take my meal off or the busy night had things sloppy but the dish was pretty tough- overly seasoned to the point of gag, and the dish looked rushed. Sushi was very good! Overall the tots were awesome but it just couldn't carry a sloppy over-seasoned entree and some decent sushi. It arrived an hour late and half of it was missing. When I finally got ahold of someone, they said to contact Chow Now - no apology or offer to fix it. I even offered to come pick up the other half of the order and they said they couldn't help. The second time I ordered and 20 mins later it said it was delivered. I live a 23 min drive from the restaurant so knew this wasn't possible even if the food was ready immediately somehow. I called several times and no one answered. When I contacted Doordash, they also couldn't reach the restaurant and could only issue me a $10 refund on my $60 order until they investigated it further, which I am still waiting on. It sounds like others have had the same problem on UberEats. Just do not order delivery from here. You'll end up in a mess of claims with delivery services and never get your food. read more
