I absolutely love Thai food and for the Murphy area this place is great. I love finding a new Thai restaurant to go to. I have a bunch of Thai places around me in Addison and I would say this isn't far from being as good as them. I will say the spicest curry isn't spicy here but the consistency of the curry wasn't too runny which is something I dislike. There were fish balls in the curry which added an interesting flavor. My mom and I split an order of the beef pad thai and the Thai style papaya salad. The pad thai was good enough to satisfy a craving, but not the best pad thai I've had. We ordered it at a level 3 spicy, which was surprisingly a good bite of spice. I was thinking it wouldn't be that bad, but it was definitely noticeable. It's got all the flavors that you'd expect in pad thai, but is missing something - I'm not exactly sure what. Maybe it needs more of the famous tamarind flavor. The papaya salad was kinda bland... it just tasted like papaya drenched in fish sauce. We ordered that at a level 3 spicy too but there was zero spice on that one. If you don't know that Pad Thai has tofu in it, you shouldn't be reviewing a Thai food restaurant on Yelp. I have eaten Thai food all over the country and know the difference between the Chinese food joints that say they "do" Thai, and a real AUTHENTIC Thai restaurant. My husband and I have been eating here for a few years. The food is always hot and fresh. The service is excellent and friendly. So far they've always gotten our order correct. I really don't have anything to complain about except the server looked at us funny one time when we ordered 2 appetizers for just the two of us. LOL! Recently tried Sticky Rice and it's easy to say it did not disappoint! Delicious food and lots of selections! Take out was super efficient. They did a great job separating things so they wouldn't get soggy. We got pad Thai, kao poon chicken, and garlic beef and broccoli. Thai tea of course and their banana dessert. Can't wait to go back. I am reviewing this place yet again. Unfortunately I have been here dozens of times due to it being my sons favorite restaurant. He gets rice though and it's not that hard to do rice. I every tine I have ordered a chicken curry the potatoes have not been cooked. They are so hard that you can't cut them. Why can't they cook their potatoes? Seriously, it's been years. Decided to try the new local Thai Place to go and was not disappointed. My wife had the Pad See Ew with Chicken (0 stars) and thought it was fantastic. For me the bar I measure a Thai place by is their Panang Curry Chicken (5 stars). While it seemed more like 4 stars in the spice department the taste was phenomenal. Honestly some of the best I have ever had. I'm not sure if it is the coconut milk they used or what, but it was so velvety and rich. I am going to be frequenting this joint. We think the food is mediocre and the service is basic - meaning just minimum standards, no cause to complain, but no favorable moments. The restaurant is clean and decorated simply with hardly anything that tells you that this is a Thai restaurant. We came in for lunch on a weekend and ordered what we typically ordered: Papaya Salad, Pad Thai and Pineapple Fried Rice. The food came out nicely displayed, yet the spiciness is no where near what we wanted. We ordered level 4 with 5 being the spiciest - Thai hot, yet the level of the spiciness was probably like 2, or even less than that. I understand that not many people can eat spicy but that's the whole scale is for. What's the point of "How spicy would you like it?" if you can't stick to that scale while preparing the food? All I can say is that we have better Thai food elsewhere and would probably not pay another visit unless we're in the area and starving. read more
