This is one of my favorite restaurants/brew house pubs in Delaware. I have come here for years. This not a regular brew house pub, this is a place to obtain a delicious craft beer and a place for delicious out of the ordinary culinary delight!!!!! Stewards has a wonderful variety of beers that they make on the premises. They also sell other beers such as Sam Adams and etc. however, I stay with the beers that they make as they are delicious. One of my favorites is Dark Helmet. They have a wonderful selections of alcohol drinks and many are their specialties. They prepare all alcohols drinks to order and are made with fresh products. The bar staff are extremely personable and will always provide recommendations. They are some of the best bar staff around as they are knowledgeable and they know the menu. They are guessing. They will honestly tell you what's excellent. Did I mention that the food is excellent?!!! Stewards has a really good happy hour where they have half priced appetizers and low priced drinks. Best Mother's Day dinner ever. Our first time here and we were greeted & seated promptly. It was crowded with families for Mother's Day, so we fit right in with our toddler. We never get to go out on a date so this was a real treat for us. Rachel was our server and she was absolutely wonderful!!! She was the epitome of a great server. We will request her each time! We ordered the honey sriracha wings and OMG, they were perfect! Big portions of everything too. My daughter got the mac and cheese kids meal with fries (every kids favorite meal) and it was nice and hot. We got a couple drinks and they were perfectly made. Not too strong or too weak. For our entrees I got the mac & cheese skillet and my husband ordered a "build your own" burger. They were equally, absolutely delicious and I was just blown away with how good our entire experience was. Our Bartender has been here 24 years (since Stewart's opened!!). Everything he recommended we ordered - from the beers to the food, it all tasted amazing! The beer is as I remember. The food has been updated and was very good. My craft brew palette started here in 1999 and keeps growing. The staff was friendly and offered many suggestions based of of our tastes. The remodeling they did kind of surprise me as the lost a large dining room but the place is still great and the changing menu will always leave you with something to try. Went in on a slow Sunday and was seated. No one acknowledged me or tried to at a minimum take my drink order. One server came out and delivered drinks to a table, loony way and went on about their business. I can't tell you how the food tasted because the customer service was so poor I left. read more

This is my favorite brewpub in the area. They're really good about COVID guidelines too. I'm pretty much going down the kind trying all their wings flavors, but I also really like their burgers. They've got a solid beer lineup too. I prefer their darker beers to their IPAs, though I found the Irish red to be their best. It's a great local spot to watch a gene and have a pint. read more

Yum! Very relaxed atmosphere, was able to hang out and get some work done (they are Wifi) with no pressure to keep ordering anything. This is a quality micro-brewery (yes it's in a strip mall) with some nice mature, award winning brews. Nothing watery or tasted like they had just flushed the lines with Lysol. I love going to Stewarts with friends for a good brew. It is a great late-night spot as they serve drinks and food until 1am (state law for liquor) every night of the week. They brew an awesome selection of beers there. My absolute favorite is the Wind Blown Blond Kolsch, which won a gold medal at the World Beer Cup in '08. They only brew that a couple times a year and I always look forward to it. They sell beer samplers so if you want to try a little taste of all their beers you can do that. Their Wacky Wheat and Irish Red Ale are my favorites of their standard beers. It is a fabulous spot for playing Buzztime trivia and there is some good competition there. They also have tons of TVs and some touchscreen games on the bar. There is a lot of seating and I've seen plenty of families eating there during the dinner hours. The food is generally really good. The only negative is that I think some of their items are overpriced. One time I tried these Rosemary Shrimp Skewers and paid close the $10 for only 4 huge shrimp. But overall their food is great quality for pub food. They have amazing Beer Queso Dip. They serve different soups everyday and I think their soups are excellent, especially the Maryland Crap Soup. They also have good desserts including ice cream from a local creamery made with Stewart's Highlander Stout. I went to this brewpub on a Saturday for a Where's George gathering. Usually, I'm not a fan of brewpubs or any establishment with "brew", "brewing", "tavern", or "pub" in the name. I don't drink and the fare is typically what I can find at a regular greasy spoon for less money. However, I'm willing to give anything a try. The parking area was a bit confusing because of the way the dividers and one-way lanes were arranged but there was more than adequate parking for a Saturday. Inside the restaurant, the ambiance was comfortable. The restroom seemed clean enough too. I had a chicken cheesesteak, which was unremarkable for the price level. There were two things I was unhappy about. Firstly, the server offered onion rings as the side for the cheesesteak but failed to tell me that this option costs extra. That's my biggest pet peeve with sit-down restaurants, especially non-chain restaurants that often fail to disclose all charges beforehand. Secondly, I had to leave before the rest of the group and asked for the check to be split so I could settle early. I watched the server punch in this request and it took only two button pushes on the touchscreen POS. Why then did they only do that grudgingly? Was that so difficult? I thought the food wasn't quite worth the money either but I'd have given them an average rating if it were not for those two service issues. Great, relatively standard brewpub. Good quality pub food. Burgers and sandwiches are ON POINT. No matter what you order, it's in your best interest to get a side of the "Boom Boom" sauce. I've been to Stewart's almost weekly since Our friends first invited us last year. We loved it so much that we shared with all our friends to come to Delaware it was worth the drive. we would drive up to 14 hours coming back from Flordia and our plans were to get to Stewart's for dinner. However the last three visits have been disappointing to say the least. First I must say The staff is friendly for most part except one afternoon a few months ago the bar tender women was a bit condescending towards me and I didn't understand why, I did my best to be polite in spite of her attitude. My salmon and Cesar was delicious. I would give Stewart's a five star they're a 3 because the food doesn't have consistency Lately. My favorite has always been the blacken Salmon and veggies plus Caesar salad, today at lunch my salmon wasn't cooked and the Cesar's salad wasn't crispy lettuce it was wilted. I sent it back and it wasn't good at all anyways paid our bill, try it on weekends it's maybe the chefs are better then weekdays. It's worth a try ... read more

Tried this place out based on hotel clerk's recommendation. The location is in a strip plaza, which made it kind of hard to find. Upon entering, I was accosted by a loud wall of noise and a lot of commotion.From my table I spotted at least seven televisions. And there were several games around the room also. If I hadn't been so tired, I might have just turned around and left. One really does need to be in the mood for a noisy bar! But I decided to stay... i'm glad I did. The food was actually pretty good. I understand that their burgers are excellent. Perhaps next time I'll try one. My server informed me that their beer selection was on two lists. One list was seasonal, the other was their standard list. Being mostly a lager drinker and a white beer drinker, I was disappointed when she told me that they were out of the lager and the white beer! She was actually pretty good about asking me the kinds of beers that I usually enjoy... So based on that, she actually brought me tastes of two different ones: a dark Belgian and an IPA. They both were excellent! So that made it difficult to choose. However, I did select the IPA... And was not disappointed. My three-star rating is probably a bit harsh... But that's because this is the kind of place you really need to be in the mood for in order to enjoy it! The loud music, the conversational commotion of lots of younger people ( 20s to 30s), The seven different televisions blaring sports information, and the games around the room, all do really add up to a very intense and loud experience! Stewart's is a great place to come with family or friends to relax, eat some good old pub food & drink brews. I come here with my family whenever I am in town. It has a nice, sports pub-y atmosphere but it doesn't feel dirty the way some restaurant/bars do who cater to sports fans. We usually sit at the high tops in the bar section so we can play trivia. The trivia is one of my favorite things about Stewart's! A lot of people play so there is good competition. Sometimes the bartenders or the owner will lead special rounds and give away free beer tokens! It is a lot of fun. My only critique of Stewart's is that sometimes the service is slow. But not every time and it seems quicker in the dining room (not near the bar). The food is always good - I usually get a burger, sandwich or a salad. They have a great rotation of food and beer specials. We usually kick it off with the soft pretzels and mustard, which are very tasty. I would recommend: the woot burger, oopie basket, Bahn pita, Caprese sandwich & the Mac and cheese, to name a few of our faves. The beer is also very good and very unique! They have some really fun seasonal and rotating drafts. The Wind Blown Blonde and the Wacky Wheat are my go-to's. The bf and I had off on a random monday, and decided that dogfish was too far away, and that we've been to victory too many times, and once saw an ad for this place in some beer mag, so we were going to try it out. Now, getting there is a complete experience. We were going every which way trying to find this place!!! But, like all good things, we were thrilled when we finally found it. Walked in and found a great spot at the bar. The bartender on duty couldn't have been nicer. We grabbed a few beers and ordered some food. Both were great! We then got a growler to go, and the bartender again went above and beyond. She cleaned the entire thing out and wahooo! a clean growler with a few drops of raspberry flavoring to our wheat beer! Been coming here for over than 14 years. The beer has been AWESOME! I moved to Delaware from Washington State (the Motherland of Micro Brew) on a job transfer and thought Delaware could not produce a decent Micro Brew. My neighbor recommended Stewart's as a great place to get a great beer and a burger. The staff is exceptional and the beers they put out are great. I would say I have been a "regular" at Stewart's for about four years (we go at least 3-4 times/month), and although the place has changed quite a bit over the last year, it's still my go-to restaurant for happy hour, dinner with friends, or just a night out with my boyfriend. We were incredibly disappointed when the banquet section of the restaurant was closed, the shuffleboard removed, and the fries (the fries!!!!) were changed. However, the fries are back (woohoo! they seriously are the BEST) and we've gotten used to most of the changes. The only thing we now have to keep in mind is that there WILL be a wait for dinner on the weekends. The beer is consistently good. Their Highlander Stout (house) is one of my favorite stouts of all time. They rotate a game burger each week which is a good opportunity to try different meats (kangaroo, antelope, bison, etc.). Their new happy hour specials are a good deal, though I am rarely there early enough to enjoy it. They have the BEST crab dip! Also, their crab cake sandwich is probably the best deal on the menu - it's loaded with crab meat and doesn't have a ton of filler, plus fries. Every Tuesday is $5 burger night! I've never had a bad experience with a server or bartender here. Stewart's is good for groups of 6-8 if it's not prime time (at which point you will be waiting for an hour+) and for a brewpub, it's relatively kid-friendly. read more
