Great menu selection, really good bar food and good beer - some family favorites are wings, burgers, fish and chips, Reuben, cheesesteak egg rolls. Only disappointed one time - the chicken tenders looked delicious but were very dry. Good service and good restaurant/bar vibe. Pumpkin beer is officially here and Stewart's serves there's with a cinnamon sugar rim! The beer menu has something for everyone and they are always willing to let you try something. The waiter in the bar area was extremely nice and constantly checked in on us. We got sweet potato fries and MAN were there sweet. Delicious but they should be put under desserts. Don't get the beer. The lines are skunked. For being a brewery I expect good beer, and that thoroughly depressed me. Do get the cocktails! They are strong and super cheap. I loved my hot toddy. The food is fine. My husband got a wild game burger, which is kangaroo, and it was tasty. Kangaroo is quite gamey and reminds me of venison. My cheese curds were also tasty and came with a sweet and fruity reduction. It's alright, just not for the beer. Not much of a brewery I guess? read more

It's been a week and I've been 2x already - yes the food is THAT good. We don't need to argue if Stewart's is a brewpub, gastropub or brewery that serves food because the definition doesn't matter - the outstanding food does. Yes Yelpers, I said outstanding food, in a strip mall, in Bear. We saw the Nachos walk by as we were deciding which beer to order and promptly order our own plate. This is Nachos done right - melty cheese layered throughout multiple chip layers means you WILL find that cheesy goodness on every chip. Plenty of toppings and large enough to make it an entire meal if you wanted. I ordered the NY Style Ruben and was delighted to enjoy the best Ruben I've had in years - packed full of flavorful corned beef, perfectly toasted and so large I took half home with me. I'm critical when it comes to Rye and this was not overpowering but the perfect meat delivery method. Husband's review of the BYOBurger was juicy, flavorful and a huge portion. We were so happy with our meal we ended up back on Sunday for their newly returned brunch. I used to be on the search for the perfect biscuits & gravy and I think I found it at Stewart's. Savory sausage gravy smothering crispy yet fluffy biscuits topped with two huge house made chicken tenders (with the perfect breading ratio). This is so large it could be a breakfast sharable - or the only meal you'll need all day. Service on both visits was friendly and attentive, and you could tell it's a little bit of a local watering hole, which makes me like the place even more. Came here for St. Patrick's weekend, and the place was nicely decorated for the occasion. It's a spacious spot with a center bar, high-top seating on one side, and booths and tables on the other. The atmosphere was great, and the service was excellent. The beer was impressive. They have a stout that's almost identical to Guinness. Unfortunately, the food was a huge letdown. I ordered the brisket sandwich, and it was obvious the brisket was a frozen product, sliced thin like ham and covered in watery BBQ sauce. The fries were also frozen. At $18 for a sandwich, there's no excuse not to serve fresh brisket and fries. read more

This place was okay to get a bite to eat for lunch. I had a gift card that I needed to use and figured that it would be okay to check out during a down time. There is open seating during the lunch hour. Plenty of spots near the bar as well as high top tables. There was another section on the other side of the restaurant that was available for regular table service. My server was great! There are a lot of drink and food specials. The drink that I wanted to try out was not available because they were out of stock so I opted for something else. Of course my second choice was not as exciting. I ordered the Bavarian pretzel sticks for my appetizer. They were generous and delicious. The dipping sauce was also great. I ordered the Jumbo crab cake sandwich for my meal. There was no way that I was going to be able to finish. The crab cake was all crab. No filler. My only complaint was that it needed a little more flavor. I was able to take the majority of my sandwich home for dinner. I got French fries with my sandwich and they were nice and crispy. This seems like a place for regulars. We need to duck out of the midday heat so we came here to take advantage of the AC. Well, we live the beers! What a nice surprise. Tried 7 varieties. Hubby liked the Delcastle Brown Ale and the Buena Vista IPA, I like the Wacky Wheat and Cali Ripa. Our top favorite was the Maibock. All beers tasted were well made. Went last night for our second visit for our LinkedIn 'Delaware Tech Beers' group. First time there were 8 of us, last night about 20. This establishment is consistently accommodating to large groups and both the bartender and our server had no problem managing and splitting up into multiple bills (which is rare these days). We moved to the area six months ago and we finally got to try this place! They have a unique selection of their own brews that change frequently so there's always something new to try. I love this little gem. Situated in an odd strip mall, you would never guess what you get by opening the door. Lots of brick and wood, with a full bar down the middle. Oddly, it's not always easy to find a good burger place but I found one and it's Stewart's. I'm a repeat customer now. Burgers are 8 oz and come with fries. I always ask for well done fries and they make them here. Also asked for full slice of onion and not just a few rings and got that too. Service is efficient and friendly. Prices are reasonable. Lots of great styles of beer. Only disappointment was the burger was more rare than medium. Also a table of 4 women didn't seem to care how loud they were. Nice to be surrounded by TVs. I found Stewart's Brewing Co. one morning on my way to work. I told myself I'd be back to check it out and I finally made it. Honestly I didn't know what to expect but I loved the atmosphere in which I was greeted with upon entering. Diverse crowd which I liked, chill atmosphere, and welcoming staff. I came in for their happy hour. I can say, with what I tried I was pleased. Happy hour occurs Mon-Fri from 3p-6pm. I tried the Crispy Grouper Bites ($6), the Jameson Whiskey Wings ($6), House Wine ($4 x 2). Leaving happy hour with a bill of only $20 I'd say a happy hour well spent. Customer service is great whether calling to place a order or being seated. Nice, relaxing vibes giving when eating inside. This time I've ordered takeout with my brother. I've ordered the mild buffalo wings, a ceasar salad, and the bavarian pretzel sticks. Ceasar was very fresh, croutons crunchy with a little salt taste and the dressing very good. Bavarian pretzels you get 3 nice size sticks that are soft and warm with a really sweet, but right tangy delicious honey mustard. Beer infused mustard too if im not mistaken. My mild wings were okay. Not really a naked buffalo wing kind of person so it was alright. Just the mild seemed a little under mild. Maybe should got hot I guess. I've been meaning to try this place all summer and was so glad I finally did this weekend. We arrived late Saturday (they closed at 9pm) and were seated immediately. The hostesses were polite and friendly. Sports bar ambiance but not as loud as other sports bars. Food was great. The crab dip was so creamy and yummy and I loved the pretzel bites they added with the tortilla chips. 219 burger was nice and juicy. Cowboy brisket was also yummy but a bit too spicy for me. I have been struggling to find a good happy hour since moving from Las Vegas to Delaware. This place has a great Happy for food and drinks. The beer selection was just ok. Everything was on the hoppy side and really heavy and dense. Which normally I wouldn't mind, but it was a warm day and wanted something lighter. The food was good, but not amazing. Might have just been what we ordered, but I'll be back to sample more standard bar food. This first trip here we had the pretzel sticks which were really good. I'm not big on mustard, but their home made mustard was the perfect compliment to the pretzel. My wife had the Mac and cheese which was really well presented. The Mac and cheese itself was really light which was unexpected. A little bland. Looked cheesier than it was. I tried the crab quesadilla special. Again, good not great. Personal gripe, the flower on the plate added nothing. So many ways to present a quesadilla what do you need the flower for? Using the flake crab was smart, but it wasn't evenly spread in the quesadilla so the only bites of crab were toward the fold. It was also dry and in desperate need of some sauce. A chipotle crema maybe? Something spicy and Smokey to compliment the sweetness of the crab? Still good, but just missing a little from being great. Our waitress was awesome, but the hostesses were indifferent to us being there. The service some other reviewers complained about was not our experience at all. I love this place. The food is always good and the people are always friendly. Tonight though was an abnormality. The Togo order for one person took 45 minutes. I was not happy. At least when I got home the food was hot and tasty. It did not disappoint as a Friday evening about 530. They were not that busy. I just realized I haven't written a review for Stew's and I've a been a Brew Club Member for almost 15 years. With 52 reviews in already, there's probably not much I can say that hasn't already been covered. Basically this place is great for two things- trying something different, and a friendly atmosphere. You can try some fresh brews made on premises that you wont find anywhere else. My favorites are their Governors Golden, Pumpkin, and Hefeweizen (seasonal). If you're a first timer try the sample flight to take it all in. Aside from the unique beers, the food menu offers something for the adventurous. There's bison, antelope, emu and various other hard to find products depending on the time of the year. The bar is frequented by regulars who are very friendly and talkative. The staff is great and Shawn is one of the best tenders around. The trivia games are fun and competitive and often the whole bar gets in on it- whether its to compete with each other or team up against other bars in the network. This is the one bar where I could go in by myself and spend the whole night there without feeling bored. A must stop for out of town'ers and people looking to host events. read more
