Last fall I needed tires and after calling around to tires plus, Goodyear, and discount tires, who were all booked out 4 or 5 days, I called Steve's.

After bringing my Trailblazer here I would feel completely comfortable making the decisions on my own. (see photos) They give a comprehensive file with pictures and additional insight to the problems, which is extremely helpful. There were a few questions I had about a couple recommended issues and Pete (who completed my inspection report) was able to clarify them with ease and honesty, so I was able to save money on not having to do that repair. It was more of a riding comfort suggestion so it wasn't a big deal since it doesn't bother me. I received a link to the reports via text and e-mail. For the estimate, you can go down the list, which included each cost, and just click "approve" if you want it done which is very convenient when you are at home. If you have questions call! Like I said above they are very easy to talk to and there was never any feel of pressure. Being pregnant during COVID is a concern but the inside was very clean including the shuttle service vehicle and I was very comfortable being there. They have a drink station there or Dunkin Donuts is next door. I also thought it was neat that they have a big picture window with bar height stools and counter that you can watch the mechanics in the shop. I don't think I've ever seen that before. After the repairs, I called around for other pricing estimates and CBA was around what others were. Some areas were less and some were slightly more. One being the fluid flushes. CBA was about $20-30 more expensive. I am a fairly frugal but I would still choose here versus saving $20 somewhere else, especially if you are getting other work done which could equal out the total price. Plus, you have the photos to prove why the repair needs to be done versus someone basically telling you to trust them.. This is now our first choice for automotive repairs. Good job Christian Brothers Auto, you exceeded my expectations.

Negative: lack of weekend times means you need to make transportation arrangements if you work 5 days / week. My only mistake was trusting this hack to build the trans accordingly. His rebuttal was i should have used a th400. While this may be true the platform does not suppost a larger transmission. Furthermore a quality built th350 should last more then 4 hrs of light use on the trail.

They started draining my transmission fluid at 9am, and I was given my van back at around 11:40am. They told me I might need the original pan gasket that was not on the van when I took it in, and was not the gasket which was included with the WIX filter. They also told me my rear transmision seal might be leaking and need replaced. I drove 4 miles South to Discount Tire in Blaine to get a new tire. I was there about 30 minutes and they informed me I had a transmission leak. I stopped in next door for lunch and called back to the transmission shop to let them know I had a leak. Kirby, the owner, told me to bring it back so they could try to fix the leak. Kirby said it would probably be about $100.00 I took the van back right after lunch, and the mechanic who had been doing my transmission flush returned from lunch just after I arrived, and got to work changing my rear transmission seal. My mechanic, Tony, told me the seal was the main problem, but that I probably would need the factory style original pan gasket to stop slight leaks at the gasket. The seal replacement total bill was $116.00. The rear seal the next day seems to be dry with no leak puddle under my van like which occured at Discount Tire, but I do have a slight leak still around the gasket which came with the new WIX filter. My van is a 2002 Chevrolet Express 3500 with the 4L80E transmission, a 13 year old service van. Overall I was impressed with this shop's professional knowledge and work ethics. I look forward to doing business with them in the future.

A repair that was told to my warranty company would take a week or less took 15 days. When I was finally called to pick it up after making excuses for their so called Master Honda Tech obviously never test drove my car. Because when I got in after them emphasizing I owe 100.00 for my deductible of which I had paid. Even though their lies cost me wuite a bit of money. If they would have rest drove it they would have got same result. They didn't. I brought it back because it did the same exact thing when I had it towed to them. Michael was aware I'm having issues with all this he apologized for supposedly not plugging my air-conditioner and and another wire. Apologized then sent me on my way. About a few miles away when was getting on the freeway. Same as when was told engine light flashing. I called told michael. He said bring it in. I asked about the spark plugs that they never changed. Michael said they took them out and cleaned them. Asked about coils I advised I got from Auto Zone. He said that's probably why then. He said he would have to charge a diagnostic fee. About 170.00. I advised I'll just go buy from dealership. He quoted me about 1,000.00 to put in the Ignition Coils of which I did in less then 30 minutes. This guy adter waiting almost 2 hours of which I walked outside a few times and saw my car with hood down no one in it or engine hood open. They saw me a few times then decided to tell this BS. Michael said he has to pay his mechanic for the time. This is the same guy that called me a liar about what Tyler who I had always was getting information about my car told me I would get my car back. Make a long story short. He had me give them a 5 star rating and he would discount my repair bill. So that's why this location looks so great. The so called manager is less then honest. That Firestone is less then honest. Just a money grab location. Find any other place but there. Honestly. Also Check your so called masterHonda tech. Laughable. Didn't test drive the car. Just replaced parts. Also lied to my warranty company that's not always honest because of a warranty. Tyler was fine. Didn't seem like he was being less then honest. I actually want my 85 79 credited to my card. I was made to give you a 5 star to reduce the fee I never should have been charged. Their diagnostic wasn't right when got the approval of which they got paid 3,000.00 while lying to Silver Rock. I Refund my money. I hate dishonest people. Especially when we are struggling and you are stealing. You know who this is. Refund my money by Friday August 14th. Or I'll be there in person on August 15th. Have a day. Hopefully you take this serious.

The engine in my son's 2012 Hyundai locked up a couple of weeks ago, so my son had it towed to Complete Auto. It was going to cost between somewhere in the range of $4,000-$6,000 to replace the engine, and he still has a small loan on the car. The team at Complete auto (Nick & Matt) did some searching and found that there was a technical service bulletin (TSA) on his year and make of vehicle that addressed the engine failure. Long story short, they suggested that we have it towed to a Hyundai dealership to see if they would warranty it, and...THEY DID! Complete Auto "could" have not told us about the service bulletin and possibly had a big pay day. It's very hard to find that level of honesty in ANY business these days. They might not always be the cheapest, but they have my business and recommendation because of their quality work, honesty, over-all value, and willingness to help people out in any way possible. I have a 17 yr old vehicle thats rear left brake caliper was sticking. Upon further inspection, the…read morerear left brake pad had worn down to the metal because of the sticking caliper. So I brought it here to get repaired. The good: They do an inspection with photos and put it online for you to see. The service writer was patient and helpful in figuring out what work to get done and was upfront about costs. They offer free loaner cars, which I did not use. The are ASE certified mechanics. The bad: The original inspection addressed everything else they wanted to replace and did not address what caused the sticking caliper - the reason I was there. They did go back and look at it though once I asked, and said the pins probably rusted. They wanted to replace a strut, front brakes and rear brakes, secure a heat shield better, degrease the engine to pinpoint a leak, and do an oil change. It's good to know about that stuff but the rear left brake was the pressing issue. Was originally quoted $1,175 to replace just the rear brakes: new calipers, new rotors, new pads on both the rear left and rear right (but not the front.) The car is only worth $1500, it's a Scion/Toyota not a Mercedes or BMW and it's old. I had been quoted $850 to do all that somewhere else with 3 yr warranty, new parts etc. So I asked what's the minimum they could do to get all 4 brakes working and they said they could replace just the rear left caliper and rear left brake pads for $450. The brake pads come in sets for both rear wheels but the mechanic wouldn't put the rear pads on the right side because he wouldn't work with the rear right caliper - it's too old and rusty, might break (though I would've taken that risk.) He would want to replace it instead. Well if I replaced every old rusty part of my car that still works I'd have a new car, and they charge $300+ to put a new caliper in. And they don't machine resurface rotors even if they're thick enough to. They said they want to warranty the rotors for 3 years instead. Well my car might not last another 3 years. So I chose the $450 option. When I picked it up they gave me the breakdown of the work: $192 for a remanufactured caliper sold at NAPA a few blocks away from the shop for less than $100. $50 for brake pads sold at NAPA for $25. $178 for the labor to install a new caliper and pads on just the rear left wheel. The brakes vibrate because they don't resurface rotors. They gave me the extra set of brake pads that came in the box they wouldn't put on the right side without replacing the caliper. I see a lot of good reviews here but nobody is saying what they paid. And they don't want to work with old rusty parts, just replace them all. Maybe that's typical, but 4 or 5 stars would be going above typical. And the shop is only open until 5pm. It took a week to get me in. All that said, this isn't a negative review. I'm just saying this may be a small, honest family owned shop in Corcoran with just a few mechanics and service people, but it isn't a thrifty one. Far from it. But I do now know all the work my car needs done in the near future and how to tackle it with a more thrifty shop and a probably a parts dealer/service locator like Tirerack.
