Had a very great experience with both Stevens bike stores today .We stopped by fresno store first to see what they carried. Went in looking to purchase 2 bikes a mid range mountain bike and a very high-end road bike. They had both of the bikes that we were looking for but in a larger size.They called up there Clovis store to see if they had the size we needed and they did. We took a drive out to the Clovis store to check out the bikes which for us was not an inconvenience knowing they had what we were looking for . Arrived at Clovis and was greeted the minute we came in the door. I've read all the reviews about how people are complaining that the bikes are too expensive .I would gladly pay for a better built bike then one from a drugstore. Remember you always get what you pay for. I also read all the reviews how you need to skip these stores and go to their competitor because their prices are better and their customer service is superior, but I went onto their competitors website and their bikes more expensive than the bikes here at Stevens. Their competitors also carry mid-range mountain bikes and high end road bikes with the same components and they're still more expensive then Stevens .Stevens prices are still more reasonable than their competitors mentioned in these reviews. Their customer service is outstanding so for the people that are on here complaining that they brought their bike in to have there tire changed and it took Stevens forever to get around to it. That it should have taken only a few seconds to fix,why didnt you just do it youself ?The other reviews also complained that they ignore you, that they're rude and that they don't want to help you and they treat you like you are stupid .This is not at all true the whole time I spent in the store was about two and a half to three hours with all my questions with all the fitting for the right size bikes and the entire time I watched other customers come in and be greeted with courtesy and respect .Young boys on their BMX bikes that were not the stores brands they carried and they still helped them out in there service department tuning up their bikes without hassling them and gladly helping them. Went for a ride with my son and within 10 minutes had 4 flat tires. Found about 100 goat head thorns between our two bikes. Looked up Steven's and went in for some new tubes. Spoke with Mike who was super helpful. Found the right size tubes and explained the sealant options. Got what we needed, went home, pulled out all the thorns, installed new tubes and were riding again in about an hour. Thanks for the help Mike. read more

My go-to bicycle shop. Although they recently moved out to Clovis and it's relatively a drive for to get out there, I am still going to go. The mechanics are pretty cool and laid back. They definitely know their stuff too. Recently I needed to get a tune-up on my bike. When I called to make an appointment, the lady that I spoke with said they were a bit booked out but could make some room for me in a couple of days. This was a nice gesture to get me in. I dropped my bike off and just a couple hours after they called me to pick it up (very fast turnaround). After riding the bike, I noticed it was running much before than before. The only problem was I guess you can call it the equilibrium or balance. It still doesn't go as straight as it used to. I wish they would've noticed it. Also it's definitely not cheap getting a tune up, I think it was close to a $100. read more

As a beginner I came in to purchase a giant bike. Found one for around what I was looking to spend. They had a medium already setup but not at small. I'm around 5'5 and asked if a small would be best. They assembled the small bike so I was able to test ride both. Ended up taking the medium. Purchased a bike here earlier today and traded in my old bike for a small credit. I first went to the clovis store, but was unable to test ride the specific model I wanted. They offered to have it sent over from Fresno, but I eventually just headed to the Fresno store and picked it up. I talked to three separate salesman at the two locations, Todd, Devin, and another guy in Clovis (forgot his name). They were all very friendly and professional, helping me get everything I needed. Sure they're sales people, so there was some obligatory offerings of additional products and services, but they weren't pushy about it at all and that made my buying experience all the better. read more

Terrible place. I came in asking if they could fix my spokes that day. They said they should be able to, but would call me. No call that day. I received a call the next day around 4pm telling me that they do not have the right tool to do the repair. I was at school so my gf went to pick up the rim me they were being extremely rude to her. TBH I wanted to start throwing punches. One of the guys up front told my gf on the down low that we should go to Rubber Sole We went there and they had it finished in no time. I will NEVER shop here again. I have never in my life been so angry at a store. I highly recommend checking out Rubber Sole. read more

Just the simple fact that the cashier offered me water after a ride in 105 degree weather left a fantastic first impression. The staff is very knowledgeable and professional. Just be sure to make an appointment for a tune-up or overhaul. It took me more than a year to figure out the name of this bicycle shop that helped me last Summer, but now that I know which one it is, I'm finally writing the long overdue 5 star review. I came across this place on a hot Summer day, when I was riding on the Clovis bike trail and my front tire went flat. Very fortunately, I was right next to this bike shop when it happened. I went into Steven's Bicycle shop to buy a quick/cheap pump, as I figured I'd only get the one use out of it. I eventually went with a little CO2 cartridge, which is meant for just a 1-time use, because I wanted to save on cost. However, I'd never used the tiny compressed air canisters before, and I bought the wrong kind. It was fitted for a Presta valve and I had a Schrader valve on my tire. So I basically sat there and wasted the whole canister, trying to force it to fit; I was so new to these types of pumps. The gal in the store then came out and asked me if everything was going alright. I was so hot and tired and fed up; irritated at myself for buying the wrong little pump for my bike. She said, "Don't worry; I'll get it pumped up for you" and she grabbed a long floor pump and put all her strength into pumping up my tire. However, it took a while before we both recognized that the hole, in the tire, was right on the side of the air valve itself. She had been pumping for quite some time, but all of the air was still escaping. When she realized this, she said; "No problem. We'll just replace the tire for you." I was very surprised! This was a lot more free help than I could have expected. She brought my bike inside, and I just waited outside at the bench. Within minutes, she returned with my bike and it had a new tire that had been pumped up for me! I was very grateful! It would have been a very long distance for me to have to walk the whole way home! They saved me a VERY long trip. And I did not have to worry about changing the tire myself, after I finally got home. Great people here! I was quite impressed because they went above and beyond to get me back up and riding again! read more

Absolutely horrible! I rarely go here. I only go here when in a bind. Every time i go in, no one acknowledges me and i feel like a burden every time i ask for help becuase of how they respond. My daughter got a flat tire at triathlon practice and so i ran over with her bike and asked for a quick tube change. This would take them literally less than 5 min. They told me no becuase they were busy with other bikes. Which they probably were, but keep in mind there was no one in the shop waiting for thier bike. The right thing would be to say "absolutely!" Especially after i explained the situation. Like i said, it would take less than 5 minutes and then they could have got back to what they were doing. Going above and beyond is what a good business does. Stevens never does this. Had i gone to rubber soul (which is where i always go) they would have done it. Becuase thats the way they are at rubber soul. Rubber Soul has the best customer service ever! If you are reading this, please go to rubber soul. Dont ever go to Stevens. read more

As other reviewers have stated, this store is for the well heeled biker. Dont expect a wide selection or anything that caters to people only willing to spend up to $400. This is for the mid to higher range bikers with more experience in riding and competing. Their other store is like this as well. If you want a wider selection and have the time, head north to Stockton and visit Performance Bicycle. I really wish they had a store here. At the very least go over to Rubber Soul Bicycles. At least they come off as less bike-snobby and are much more helpful and patient. I didnt sense that at Stevens. read more

Was in the market for a Hybrid bicycle and after doing months of research I decided on a Specialized. Being that Stevens had a great reputation and was down the street and carried the brand I walked in to see if they had the model I needed. Maybe it's my good timing but they had the exact bike in the exact color I was looking for and was able to put it on hold (which I thought was awesome) I ended up coming back on a Sunday and took it home. I did try and find the same bike other places and was unable to locate. They offered great knowledge and all my questions were answered. I ended up going back and spending all kinds of cash lol mostly my fault because I wanted all the extra goodies like a pump, lighting, co2 canisters, tube, multi tool, bike bag .. list goes on. I had a trike given to me from my dad and they totally got me set up with helmets for myself and my 2 year old son, mirrors, rechargable blinking lights that plug into USB port, bike lock, child seat and water bottle holder. John was the guy behind the counter. He totally was patient with me and very informative. He made sure my chain was lubricated and my tires were slimed, aired up and securely fastened on. All the staff there were very kind. There was an instalation guy that put my child seat on correctly for me. I am really pleased with the service. I didn't buy my bike here and they didn't treat me weird at all. I originally went in to buy a child trailer for the back of my bike but because I have a three wheeler "trike" they let me know that the manufacturers don't make hitches for trikes. I didn't leave too disappointed though because I got what I needed to ride my bike with my 2 yr. old safely. I totally will be back for all my bike needs. read more

My wife recently became extremely interested in biking. She was borrowing a bike from her sister to really try it out before investing a lot of money into a bike of her own. She soon realized how much she LOVED biking. It was finally time for her to spread her wings and buy her own bike. Honestly, I had recommended to her another bike shop in town because of a good experience that I had when I ventured in there over a year ago. Instead she went to Steven's. I am glad that she did. As a business owner and previous retail manager, I understand that customer service goes beyond just a good experience. Steven's crew takes things to a whole other level. The crew in there, Maddy, Devin, and team take such good care of my wife as well as myself. I don't even ride but they know my name and treat me like family when I walk in that door. That is what makes me walk out that door more and more broke every time! LOL! Seriously though, this team is the model for PERFECT customer service and providing a family friendly environment. After hearing such great reviews about Steven's Bicycles in Clovis , I thought I would check out their store in Fresno. The first think I liked, was the fact that they had automatic opening doors, which makes it extremely convenient to bring in your bike without any assistance. The second think I liked was that I was immediately acknowledged by a young man named Griffen. He adjusted my bike seat at no cost and replaced a missing screw for my bottle holder at no cost either. He also showed me a rack of Specialized clothing that was marked down by 50%. While I was looking at the great selection of clothes he said that he noticed my tires were low on pressure so he properly inflated them. He also took the time to tell me about the riding groups they are starting at their store and I can't even begin to remember all the other helpful things he told me. Definitely I will be a return customer and now I have witnessed why everyone is so impressed with this shop. read more
