We LOVED working with Stems! Hannah and the team were an absolute pleasure to work with, and we are incredibly grateful to have hired them to provide our wedding florals! We were a little intimidated by the floral process going into it, but it ended up being easy and fun thanks to Hannah. We communicated our specific design concepts to Hannah, and she executed them all to perfection! Two things that really stood out to us were the arch that we got married under and the hanging floral installation that was designed by the Stems team. These items were STUNNING and completely exceeded our expectations! We also made it clear that we wanted TONS of candles, and that is exactly what we got! The day of the wedding, the Stems team was onsite working hard (in the hot weather) to set up our wedding just the way we wanted. The flowers they provided from the bouquets to the centerpieces to the signage were beautiful, high quality, and lasted throughout the night in the Texas heat! I am rating 2 because the flowers for my wedding were beautiful; however, there was a total lack of communication of what would be removed from mly property and at what hour. Stems removed ALL of the flowers the following day at 9am despite my wishes not to donate the flowers. I was devastated the next morning to see all of the flowers on the tree decorated so beautifully were removed. They brought back the centerpieces after I called and complained; however, the tree flowers were defined as "hardware" because it contained artificial flowers they needed to be returned. When I told them that I was going to destroy the dress and wanted the arrangement back I was told it was in "a million pieces." They would not return me the "million pieces" so I could have them to try to put back together. While I totally understand that real hardware such as the metal used for the centerpiece and candlesticks need to be returned immediately, I feel that I should have been explained that I would not be able to enjoy the costly flowers for even 24 hours. read more

I am so happy I chose Stems for my wedding. I was getting married at Barr Mansion and they recommended Stems. The Florist is more expensive but for a good reason- they know the venue, they're experts, and they bend over backwards for every request that you have. Abby was in close contact with me from the beginning. She took my every wish and transformed it. As she said, you can make it relatively inexpensive (sort of) or very expensive. They have so many wonderful options and they set up a mock centerpiece for you. This was very helpful for me because I was able to pick and choose the few things that I wanted changed and she was happy to change whatever. For example, when I first saw it I realized it was quite large and I needed to cut back a bit on the cost, so we discussed downsizing to a smaller box. Additionally I wanted a bit less orange in the piece and a little more pink. All those changes were made easily. It was all so beautiful. I remember when I walked into the room and saw my flowers I started crying (can you imagine how I was when I was reading my vows?) They were so beautiful. Abby is beautiful. She is so kind, sweet, and wonderful that she just makes you feel happy when you meet her. This is exactly what I needed. She work with us to create an inside jungle feeling, and even found ways to save us a little money while capturing the same effect. Wow wow wow! I'm not even sure if there are accurate words to describe how much I absolutely adore Abby and the whole STEMS team, but I will do my best! I first learned about STEMS when my sister in law hired Abby and her team as the florist for their wedding in May of 2017. I was so in awe at how beautiful everything was that I knew I would hire them when the day came for me to start planning my own wedding. As soon as we had a venue and date set, I started the planning process with STEMS and I could not be happier with how perfectly everything went. I had a vision of a dreamy modern tropical wedding and they really helped me narrow down exactly what I wanted. Any time I had a concern about how something would look (because I am a very visual person), Abby made sure to send me more visuals or really talk through in detail how something would look. Not only did STEMS do all of the florals for my wedding, but they also did 99% of the rentals. From cocktail tables to lounge seating, to table linens and the table settings - Abby knocked it out of the park and really made my vision come alive! I was beyond excited to arrive at my venue the day of the wedding to see how everything was looking and I was absolutely blown away. Abby and her team are the absolute best in the business. In all honesty Stems fell short of my expectations for my wedding last year. I also got married at Barr Mansion and chose Stems at the recommendation of the coordinator I was working with. I thought that the flowers they provided were pretty and fresh and sort of similar to what I wanted, but I have several issues with the overall experience. First, they never made a mock up bridesmaid bouquet which was supposed to be included in the total that we paid. Nor did they do a mock up of the the centerpiece(s) which at least one other reviewer mentioned was a nice thing that they did. Why do they offer this for some clients and not others? Worse than that, after the wedding was over I couldn't find my bouquet before we left and neither I nor anyone else knew what happened to it. In fact no one saw what happened to any of the bouquets after dinner was over. After calling all the bridesmaids the next day to find out they didn't have my bouquet (or their own) I finally called Stems and the gal I spoke to figured out that Stems had thrown away all the bouquets from my wedding. It's crazy to me that they would make zero effort to at least check with us first to see if we wanted to come and pick them up before just throwing them all away! I actually cried. I didn't get to keep a single flower from the most significant bouquet I will ever carry. And if the meaning of it isn't enough, the price tag surely warrants a courtesy phone call. read more

Imagine being a Bride that barely knows the difference between a Rose and a Lily (I think those are two common flowers)...can't imagine it? Well it isn't easy. Thankfully, Abby & the Stems crew were there to save me from God knows how many floral faux pas so that my wedding was just as gorgeous as I ever imagined it could be. Here's the thing, I live in Minnesota, I'm pale like 7 months out of the year which means lighting is SUPER important to me. Soft, romantic (read between the lines...make me look tan)...beautiful candlelight. Seascapes of candles is what I apparently wanted (or so I learned during our time together). Abby handled it all...flowers, lighting, 20's vibe...all while still making me classy & Beyonce for a day. You will not be disappointed with Stems. I even met with them at 11am and then called the next place to cancel when we left because I was so confident that she just GOT IT. Isn't it nice when that happens? STEMS was recommended by our venue, The Barr Mansion for our 3.16.13 wedding. I was hesitant at first thinking STEMS was too pricey. After some EXTENSIVE shopping around I found I could save a whole $200 by going elsewhere, if even that!...apparently flowers for a 200 person wedding are expensive, not at STEMS lol just in general! So after I realized that STEMS had very competitive pricing I choose them since they have extensive experience at our venue. I am so glad I did - my flowers were amazingly beautiful and perfect in every way. It was 85 degrees and the flowers were still fresh and beautiful all evening. Abby and her team are great to work with and believe me I went back and forth a lot trying to find ways to shave costs. Abby understood our budget and worked with me every step of the way. Revision after revision she was sweet and helpful. She responded to emails in less than 24 hours and never once got annoyed at my frequent changes. I am so glad we used STEMS. My bouquet was stunning and so unique. Garden roses, privet berries, magnolia leaves, blue delphinium, just wow. I would never have known anything about those flowers but Abby has a huge selection on an iPad for ideas. She read my vision and made it happen. The flowers I got were even more beautiful than the pictured ones. The toss bouquet was cute, the bridesmaid bouquets were gorgeous, all the table centerpieces were stunning. We loved working with our floral designer at STEMS for our wedding. She presented our proposal along with a perfect vision board. She was attentive and responsive to our needs. Needless to say, I was so excited to see the flowers the day of our wedding. Our wedding was small and intimate and we ended up spending 50% more on flowers than we had originally intended...but that was okay because we were excited about her efforts to bring our vision to life. Our budget wasn't huge but not necessarily small either -- and it appears STEMS is used to large budgets (and it also appears that those are the ones featured on their Instragram stories). When I walked into the wedding venue, the vision board they presented did not exactly come to life. The ceiling installation was ridiculously small, out of balance and certainly not a statement piece. It was almost a "why bother" piece. And it appears that no one on the STEMS team really cared about the installation as it was seriously uneven (unfortunately, it will be in our wedding photos). Even our guests thought it looked odd. The handwritten wedding sign they prepared for us for the table assignments was sloppy, in child-like printing and looked like it was written on a dry erase board. Again, not the vision that was presented. My bouquet, along with the bridemaids' bouquets, did not resemble what I wanted. I had provided specific photos and the bouquets looked nothing the photo. My bouquet was too large, included flowers that I never wanted and it certainly didn't look like the bouquet they featured on their vision board (which was the photo I provided). Additionally, the STEMS team placed the bouquets in vases filled with so much water that the silk ribbons were soaked. We had to work to get them dry before holding them against our dresses. When we initially met with our designer and at all the other subsequent meetings, I truly felt like our wedding was special. What a HUGE let down. After excitedly walking into the venue and seeing their work, I did not feel special and although they would never admit it, I can't help but believe that because our budget was NOT in their typical five figure range, they really didn't give our project the same attention or care. They could tell me otherwise but their sloppy work confirms my belief. Definitely shop around if you have a modest budget because you won't get the same attention as their bigger budget clients. read more

Abby and her team at Stems made all of my wedding dreams at the South Congress Hotel come true. We met in the fall for my wedding in April and walked through every detail of my vision. Flash forward to March where we met to do a table mockup, and my entire vision for the wedding had changed. Abby was not only accommodating and approachable, but worked with us until we had everything just right. On the day of the wedding, I was blown away by our florals. We had a HUGE bougainvillea ceiling that was the highlight of the night and put the room over the top. Our modern, colorful table design and chupah were also perfect. Working with Stems couldn't have been easier. They went over and above and provided a superior product. Stems may be a little on the pricier side but in my opinion they were absolutely worth it. Not only do they do amazing flowers, they also have a fairly extensive list of rentals. She understood my vision and provided me with great- and reasonably priced- alternatives. I'm very detail oriented, and the details were perfect. When my bouquet arrived on my wedding day, I almost cried I loved it so much. Our center pieces were unique and provided lighting, which was important for our outdoor evening reception. Why we love Abby...... My husband and I got married this past February at The Barr Mansion. Abby made all of the centerpieces, bouquets, aisle markers, and the ring pillow for the big day, and they were absolutely gorgeous. I was very pleased to find some one who was so thorough and accommodating. I probably changed my mind at least five times, truly, on just my bouquet. She was so wonderful and patient with me. I was not a traditional bride when I went it to talk with Abby at Stem Floral. First, I'm really independent so I went in to see her by myself, and I'm also a huge flower child/nature buff, so I thought the flowers we used should inspire the colors for the wedding, so I had no ideas. I literally went in to see Abby with a blank slate and she helped me create something original and beautiful that not only had I never seen done anywhere before, but that just blew my expectations out of the water. We sat down with books of flowers organized by colors, and I just went through and picked the ones that I was attracted to. We went with the time of year (April 23rd, 2011) and the colors that I liked and created something incredible. However, although I really do love flowers and nature (we got married at Barr Mansion), I wouldn't characterize myself as super materialistic and I didn't want to spend an arm and a leg on flowers. After 3 budget iterations after 'my vision' with Abby, a bit downsized to 'my budget,' not only did we have everything we needed, but everything we chose was 10x more beautiful on the day-of than I had imagined. Abby was incredibly responsive, flexible, and hands-off. Her work speaks for itself - you tell her what you want, and that's all you have to do. She'll take care of everything else, you never have to get involved, and everything will be perfect and ready for your big day. She's fun, incredibly personable, a great listener, wonderfully creative, and exceptional at bringing a vision to life.
