My favorite tea place ever! They have an incredible selection. If you know what you want to have, you're in luck. If you're new to the tea scene, don't worry, they have sample smelling bottles for you to take a whiff and then try out their multitude of flavors. Price is reasonable, and I love the seating - very cozy. This is not the place for you if you're looking for boba tea, however. They have a few fruit boba options, but in my opinion you're better off trying their regular teas, hot or iced! read more

I discovered this tea shop while attending the Octoberfest Street Fair. It was nice to find a place specializing in such a wide range of loose leaf tea. I usually buy my teas from Tea Fountain in Mill Valley, but it's good to know that this shop might turn out to be an option closer to where I live. I'm looking forward to trying more of their teas. They offer tea tastings, which feature five teas by type (black, green, etc.) or tea by the cup. I tried an iced watermelon tea that was really refreshing. The layout is open and airy, which makes for a pleasant shopping experience. On the left wall, there is a sample rack containing all the tea blends offered. I would recommend spending a few minutes smelling the various samples to get a sense of what teas you might be interested in. There's also a small table with a selection of add ins like milk and sugar. I liked that they also offered liquid sugar for the iced teas. You'll find all the teas for sale on the right wall and the racks in the center of the store. They are arranged by type and packaged in nice resealable, air tight bags. There's also a small selection of tea brewing merchandise. I purchased a bag of their winter spice black tea. It tasted great, but was a bit milder than I expected based on how it smelled. However, you will be surprised to see a variety of teas here, all sorts of green, black, oolong tea as well as herbs and fruits. You can also buy ingredients such as dried orange slices by weight. It is nice that you can smell all the teas before you buy them, without asking. The price is very fair, unlike other 'fancy' brands. Casablanca and Decaf English Breakfast are my favorites at Steepers. You'll love Casablanca if you are a fan of fruit iced tea, and Decaf English Breakfast is for those who are sensitive to caffeine, like me. So many wonderful flavors and scents, and you can give them a "sniff" at the racks towards the front of the store. I decided to pick up a bag of the raspberry-green, and had a "lemonade iced tea" to go. The iced tea was very refreshing, and I swear that, as I walked down the street, another woman with a similar cup in her hand yelled "STEEEEEPEEERS!" as she passed. We actually stumbled upon this place while we were strolling down the street for the Sunday's Farmers' Market. It's a cute little spot with a extensive variety of teas. I've always been a simple tea person, but I'm starting to broaden my choices of tea. Because there were so many to chose from, I just kind of chose what I was in the mood for. It was a nice warm day so I chose the strawberry hibiscus, I believe that's what it was called. The tea leaves are fresh so it's steep as you order. I had it over ice and it was just a perfect balance, I didn't have to add sugar, it was absolutely refreshing. Staff is very friendly and you get a nice warm welcome coming in. We sat down for a bit while waiting for our order. It does take a little bit longer because everything is made to order, so be patient, it's worth the wait. read more

I visited the store today hoping to find Thai Tea. I read all your great reviews on Yelp but must say I was beyond disappointed about your customer service. Upon entering your store I was not greeted. Your sales representative or owner was to busy in an off topic conversation with a customer that already finished shopping. It was apparent that I was lost with all the overwhelming selection and waited several minutes to get your representatives attention that continued her conversation. I finally got her attention and as soon as I asked my question I was left as the phone rang with no answer. My second attempt to get information on the teas was interrupted as new customers entered the store, which were happily greeted and received immediate attention. Their questions were answered, she even went as far to offer to open jars to let them smell the teas while I was still standing in the store with two bags in my hand without my questions being answered. Needless to say - the treatment left me with a bitter taste in my mouth and I returned the wanted items to the shelves and walked out. I was so excited when I heard a tea place was going to open in Campbell. My friends and I are tea lovers and do tea weekly. We have also been known to order teas in bulk to get good tea. First impression, it was a cute tea store. It had a decent selection for a small independent tea store. Since it was my first time there I wanted to peruse before ordering anything. We had two out of town guests with us and one decided to use the restroom while we were perusing. After a little bit, she made a snippy remark to his wife, "Are you just waiting for him to get out of the bathroom??". What we can't just look around? Then he apparently was taking too long for her taste as she then asked if he was still in there and basically accused him of smoking pot. Really? How rude. I politely answered that he does not do drugs. Should I have to defend my friend at a tea shop for using the restroom?? Geez. I went ahead and got a cup of tea to try. I wanted to try the tea and then maybe buy a few selections of tea. My guests were also pondering about ordering a cup of tea. Some more guests came in and she complained about their timing??? However, I didn't even get the chance to sweeten my tea before she kicked us out!! It was about 2 in the afternoon! She said she was starving and had to leave. Really? Why didn't you lock your doors before anyone came in then?? Overall, the customer service was extremely poor. She just seemed annoyed that we were there the whole time. I've been a fan of tea for a long time - and not the bagged crap, I'm talking the loose leaf. In fact an ex-girlfriend got me a tea press for my birthday one year. In the past I would load up on the overpriced and confusing amounts offered at places like Teavana and David's Teas until you drank so much of it you couldn't take it any more and now the overpriced tin is collecting dust. Well I don't have to worry about that anymore, thanks to Steepers: -independently owned -pre-packaged 2 oz bags -with price already on the bag -you can smell any of the teas you want without being serviced -very relaxed atmosphere; you aren't getting the high pressure to drop $100 -varied selection of colors and flavors We attended a UYE hosted by Janet (whose checkin I can't find anymore) that included an Earl Grey sampling, some cookies, and went to town. I ended up getting two things I very much wanted: a flavored lichee black tea for the afternoons, and a light green White Monkey Paw for the evenings. Both have been great to have during the week. Awww yeah Steepers is everything I love rolled up in one. Super stoked to have this place in my hood. The big three reasons why I love steepers are: 1) Small business. I love me a small business. I'm all about spending local and it is nice to finally have a place to support while indulging in my tea habit. 2) Tea (of the retail variety). I drink a lot of tea at home. Obvi Steepers was gonna be a hit with me. There are so many different kinds of tea and you can even blend your own with things like dried fruits, flowers, and herbs. 3) Tea (of the by the cup variety). You can get a cup of hot or iced tea, which is lovely for the days when you're perusing the downtown and need a little liquid pick me up. Great little shop. I'm a breastfeeding mom and I wandered in one day and asked about anything that might be able to help with supply and general wellness for postpartum. She knew exactly what I needed and it worked so well. The owner was so sweet, especially when my credit card was declined and I had my crying baby with me in the heat. She told me to come back and pay when I could. I thought that was so nice, considering she could have just taken back the tea. I returned and paid her. I'm writing this while enjoying my second cup of tea brewed with the tea I purchased yesterday from Steepers. The owner of the shop directed us to the left side of the shop as we came in. We opened up various small jars of teas off the wall to experience their aroma. Although the jars were numerous, they were easily identified since they were grouped by type. After a good 10 minutes of sniffing, we decided on 3 different types of tea and headed to the right side of the shop. Again, the teas were grouped by type, and they were in alphabetical order. What I really love about this shop is the incredibly wide selection of the different kinds of teas. You can even make your own blend if you wish. I'm not going to talk about what I ended up purchasing because it is really a matter of taste and I strongly believe everyone should develop it individually. This is a perfect place to start. I chatted with the owner and she mentioned that she is going up against Tevana. While sipping this tea I really don't think there is much of a competition. I only needed a pinch of leaves to make a rich, flavorful cup of tea. Whereas if I need to emulate the flavors I get from the samples at Tevana, I would need to use twice the recommended amount. The best part yet, she didn't try to sell me a $12 tin to keep my tea in. If it's not clear already... I will be heading back for more tea. read more

I was walking around downtown when the Steepers sign caught my attention. It read, "Sweet Watermelon Oolong is back!"... that sounded so refreshing on a warm day. My girlfriend and I were planning to get milktea originally but decided to give this place a try. I'm glad we did. As you walk in, there's a display wall of the teas available (50+ to try from). Open up the jars up and take a good whiff. A total "smell-o-vision" experience - that's how I decided on which tea to get. All the teas were very fragrant. I ended up getting the sweet watermelon oolong and my girlfriend got the rose chateau Patricia. Each drink was made to order. There's a little customization bar with different sweetners, lemons, etc. for those who want to add a little something to their tea. Needless to say, we were both happy with our choices without the add-ons. The owner was nice but because there were a lot of customers at the time, she couldn't give everyone individualized attention/help. I would definitely come back to try some more. read more

The lady who owns Steepers is so nice and kind! I looked at her recipe book for tea and I picked Mothers Milk Tea. She let me make it with her herbs on the wall, and when I tried it... Paradise! When you can't find bulk tea at Whole foods (I swear my mind played a trick on me into thinking they sold it presently - no longer!) or any grocery store, come here to steepers!!! I had never been into this cute shop before, even though I have been down this street many times. I was looking for a tea place that sold individual tea in order for me to use as party favors for a baby shower. This small place has lots to choose from, buy, and sniff. The manager was extremely helpful in telling me about all the different teas, and the differences between, black, grey, and green. I like tea but I'm not as familiar with it. She sells loose tea in bags that make about 20 or so individual servings. I needed 1 serving to go into a favor box for my friend's baby shower. The shower was at a tea room for high tea. Even though she does not sell individual bags, she accommodated me by allowing me to purchase a bag of loose tea. She then scooped out 12 individual helping and placed them into 12 individual filter bags and sealed each of them. It made for a perfect gift! Each individual filtered bag of tea fit perfectly in the favor box I bought and went perfectly with the theme of the shower. I hope the ladies liked them as much as I did. Thank you so much for taking the time with me to explain everything and being creative by helping me make it work for the little boxes. I have made this tea at home and it is delicious. Also, while I was in the store, I bought a fresh iced tea to drink. She had several flavors but suggested I mix two. It was also very delicious. Go there if you like tea!
