Pretty disappointed in my visit here. They get an extra star for the friendly service that they provided though. I've been on an aged balsamic vinegar and olive oil binge lately, and have checked out a bunch of shops ranging from San Diego to Carmel Valley near Carmel-by-the-Sea. I was excited to potentially discover a closer source of high quality balsamic vinegar and olive oil. To assess how good of a product they had, I asked for the 25 year aged balsamic and the Picual EVOO. The 25 year aged balsamic was quite watery, had OK flavor (just a bunch of basic berry and grape flavors, no honey), and had too much of a vinegary bite. In comparison, the 25 year aged balsamic that I had in Carmel Valley poured like molasses with an incredible mouthfeel, much richer and more complex flavors including oak cask flavor and an ultra-long wildflower honey note finish. Next up was the Picual EVOO. Honestly, I didn't really taste very much aside from a light olive aroma. Felt very watery, not much of that green/herbal note, no sharpness, just a whole lot of nothing. This was even more disappointing than the 25 year Balsamic. The Picual I had in Carmel Valley was punchy as it should be, tons of fresh herbs, grass, spice all up front. I don't know if it's potentially a difference in first extraction vs using the remnants/grinds. But I cannot recommend the olive oil at all. The drive really is worth it guys, until an actual proper EVOO and Vinegar places shows up in South Bay at least. read more

The olive oils here are outstanding--fresh, delicious, and a huge step up from anything I've found at the grocery store, so I don't buy olive oil anywhere else anymore. My favorite is the Bacon olive oil, which I use to cook scrambled eggs, but I also love pairing it with the fig vinaigrette and enjoying both with sourdough and a slice of salami. I come back every few months just to restock my Bacon olive oil. Customer service is amazing and the store is super cute and welcoming. read more

Cool place to try out different flavored olive oils and balsamic vinegar. For "regular"/unflavored olive oil, there's only 2 varieties: a California one and a Spanish one. Both were good but I was expecting more varieties! A harvest date on each bottle would be nice. read more

I had tried one of their seasonal balsamic vinaigrette that was out of this world, and I've had a couple different ones of their olive oil's that are fantastic. They even have an olive oil with higher health properties than most I forget which one it's called... but ask them they will know which one it is. We used The Olive Bar for a couple of events we held. They came and did tastings, which were very well received. Prior to that, I went to the store and did my own tasting - unbelievable! They know how to pair oils and vinegars very well, resulting in terrific taste sensations. I fell in love with the Tuscan Herb Infused Olive Oil. It is sensational. Walked in here, looking for a nice thick balsamic for drizzling on salads and cheese. They did have little sealed sample cups so you can try items first, which I appreciate. What I didn't appreciate, though, was the lack of visible pricing information. I selected two bottles, and the gentleman never mentioned the pricing at all. I even remarked as he was ringing me up that it was weird to not know the pricing before I bought something - and he STILL never told me the price! I only saw it when he entered it into the credit card machine. I would not have bought two bottles if I had realized the price earlier. Honestly, I just felt so awkward about it that I paid and left. It didn't leave a good impression for me and I hate to not give a local-owned place a higher rating here on Yelp. What a cute shop! I came by to pick up my local honey order this was the first time I came in since then I make frequent stops in to buy local gifts for family. We love the olive oils such a unique variety! The last visit I picked up 5 olive oils my favorite was the Meyer lemon olive oil since we cook a lot of fish. I also loved the watermelon balsamic it has such a great flavor. We regularly pick up a garlic oil and rosemary this is for everyday cooking. The service person was so fun and knowledgeable she was entertaining and helped me pick up some great gifts which were very much appreciated by the person I gifted. Don't forget the salt we loved the truffle salt!!! They also sell a variety of cookbooks, and local favorites I usually pick up at the Sunday farmers market. Came by looking for peach ginger white balsamic vinegar to brighten up my sparkling water. The only vinegars that had ginger were blackberry ginger and honey ginger. I sampled almost all of the balsamic vinegars and left happily with a bottle of the strawberry balsamic. Yum! The saleswoman helped me by pointing out the tasting cups, sampling dispensers, trash bins and also offered a bite of brownie made with orange flavored olive oil. She stood nearby, ready to assist as needed or when it seemed like I needed help. I didn't try any of the olive oils. I'm sure they are fantastic, as the other reviewers have mentioned, but the vinegar was plenty delicious and not in-expensive, so I didn't want to feel obligated to buy more than I had planned, that's all. :) Saving the olive oil tasting for another time! read more

If you're an olive oil lover this is the place for you!! I walked in one day while just strolling through Campbell downtown and I was pleasantly surprised to find this gem of a place. I sampled many of the olive oils and vinegars. Ended up buying the mediterranean herb infused olive oil, fig balsamic vinegar and the truffle infused salt. Later in the day we enjoyed the oil and vinegar with a hot fresh out of the oven loaf of bread. I'm gonna visit again for a refill once i've used up my oil and vinegars. Driving around the Downtown Campbell area and I was intrigued by The Olive Bar. The Husband initially didn't know what to think, but in the end, I had to drag him out! And like everyone says, Ed and his wife are really the friendliest people, very down-to-earth and really get to know you. (It would definitely be one of our favorite neighbor stores if we lived in the area!) They are so helpful and just really want you to enjoy your experience there. The Olive Bar is the cutest place and they really let you try all their different oils and balsamic vinegars. I mean, you almost have to try all their suggested combinations because it just takes you to whole new level of olive oil and balsamic vinegar. In the end, we brought a bottle of their Black Currant Balsamic Vinegar, the Tuscan/Herb Italian Olive Oil, and their limited stock White Truffle Oil. (And we probably would have gotten more if we weren't flying home!) They also started a frequent buyer card program, which is definitely a plus! This little local spot is on Campbell Avenue in downtown Campbell and has an entire selection of olive oils to savor. They offer taster cups too. Honeys, soaps, and other local products are sold here. They even cater to children, having given our precious nephew a little toy car. They certainly know their olive oils...well, not as well as you do, but I think we could easily spend some time in this shop. Love, Olive Oyl This is a great local venue, and really a perfect spot to buy presents for out-of-town family members, or treat the ones you love. Walked in thinking it was an olive bar (like at Whole Foods... Spoiler alert: it's not, but it's ok!!) We were immediately greeted and without the pressure of a salesman. The sales lady (sorry her name just escapes me) was super welcoming and knowledgable about the product. She pointed out things we should notice about the sample of olive oils. Who knew right?? Garlic infused, butter flavored, jalapeño infused, chipotle... I mean I could go on but I'd drool all over my phone. What really sold us was the fact that it was a no pressure environment. We had no intention to buy (we have lived in Campbell for two years and never walked in) but the quality of the product was impressive. We left with two large bottles and small one. I've been a customer of the Olive Bar from the very beginning where Don Eduardo had his full size cut-out of John Wayne and the television tuned to Fox News. The thing I've never liked is being ripped off by $1.58 every time I purchase a bottle of olive oil. It works this way. You buy a bottle of olive oil ($18.99) and they punch your card. The rule is that you have to keep your card or get multiple cards, then twelve punches gets you a free bottle of olive oil. Dividing $18.99 by twelve equals $1.58. My guess is that most people lose or don't bother with the cards so this overcharge becomes extra profit. I probably will continue to buy my olive oil at this store and then explain the ripoff when i am asked if I want a card. read more

My wife an I had the pleasure of popping into the store during a cider walk. Let me tell you the DARLING Christa who educated me on some amazing olive oils was the Sweetest thing ever. I love olive oil and balsamic vinegar more than anything with my bread so this was a great visit. The customer service was very friendly and informative. I learned a lot about olive oil and even more about coconut oil. They let you sample everything and they had samples of brownies made with coconut oil. They also have a test jar for their coconut oil that has a cream texture. When we used it on our hands, it really did moisturizer our skin! Overall, a great place to get oils and vinegar. It's nice that they have a chart of their olive oils and balsamic vinegars. The coconut oil smells very good and was surprisingly effective. Normally I steer clear of health trends and stick to the basic fundamentals. However I've recently gotten into coconut oil pulling. Look it up, it's good for oral hygiene. The Olive Bar sells virgin coconut oil. I didn't even know it was a thing, but yep, it is! Cold pressed and raw, this stuff comes in a Crisco like texture. Though not terribly appealing there are benefits to this format, including the fact that a non-heat method helps retain monoglycerides. A small jar costs $10 and will last at least a month! A spoonful swished in your mouth for 20 minutes supposedly does a body good! We shall see... Oh yeah, there's all kinda of olive oils available for sale here as well. I have been to a couple of Olive bars from different places that I thoroughly enjoyed, but then I came here and it set really set the bar for me. It's definitely one of the smaller olive bars I've come across, but the quality and the choice of pairing stood out to me. For example, I'm really used to strawberry being paired with basil or some kind of herb, but here they pair it with meyer lemon olive olive oil. It was very different, but surprisingly pleasant, so I can see why it's one of their most popular pairings! They have a little pamphlet that has pairings they recommend such as: -Basil olive oil + tangerine balsamic -Blood orange oil + pomegranate or dark espresso balsamic -Rosemary oil + cranberry pear -Jalapeño oil + sweet peach .....etc, etc Anyway let me start from the beginning. Every christmas, gift shopping for my dad is really difficult. Periodically he'll eat plain EVOO with unflavored balsamic vinegars so I finally realized HELLOOO why not get him the amazing flavored ones! Unfortunately the only olive bars I knew of were too far from home and I really did not want to order it online, so I headed to yelp in hopes of finding something local. When I found this place, I was little skeptical because it did not look like their were too many selections. Upon arriving I was so confused how I ever missed this place when it's right next to the candy store Rocket Fizz and Aquis. The employees here are great with assisting customers! Not many people know much about balsamic vinegars or olive oils (or the local honey and coconut oils they also have here) but they go through and answer all of your questions! Didi assisted me with my purchase of the ready to grab and go gift set of 3 pairs of their most popular flavors: Tuscan Herb olive oil + Fig balsamic, Meyer Lemon OO + Strawberry Balsamic, and Blood Orange OO + Pomegranate balsamic. I was in and out quickly, but as soon as I walked out, I saw their samples outside the door and tried it. It was amazing! It was pear + elderberry and it had a really, really nice thick consistency. I walked back in and decided to sample a few more so Didi came over and started telling me all the ways to enjoy the different oils. The chocolate flavor for example she said can be used on things you wouldn't normally think of like waffles, on strawberries (to taste like chocolate covered strawberries) and ice cream. The chocolate is paired with coconut and the combination sounded a little weird at first, but it tasted delicious and it's definitely a really healthy alternative that I can't wait to add to my diet. In addition to the oils and balsamics, they also have local honey for those of you with allergies around the area! The only downside to this place in my opinion was that you can't get any flavored oil or balsamic to be in the small sample size (2 oz bottles), they only have certain ones in that size. In a way, I guess that's still not even a downside because honestly, I would use this so much that I would probably need the bigger sized bottles anyway. OH MY!!!!! Walking into this store made me feel like I'm walking to a candy store! Olive. Oil. Balsamic. Dressings. Everywhere. The bf and I sampled pretty much almost every olive oil and balsamic dressings here and we loved everything. My favorites that I've remembered were the Espresso Balsamic, Dark Chocolate Balsamic, Meyer Lemon Olive Oil, Strawberry Balsamic, Traditional 18 yr Balsamic to name a few. In the end I ended up purchasing two small bottles - Strawberry Balsamic and Traditional 18 yr Balsamic. We've got the chance to chit-chat with the owner (who's name I have forgotten but I will be back anyways) and mentioned to me that their coconut oils on sale are actually from Santa Maria Laguna, Philippines. I was browsing their coconut oil section and did noticed that the brand was called Santa Maria. It didn't occur to me that it was from the Philippines. There are many different and exotic flavors available here such as Persian lime and Meyer lemon. You can taste the oils and vinegars if you like. They also sell virgin coconut oil, olive oil based soaps and lip balms, olives, spreads, and a few other things. I love the lip balm that I got for $2.99. I've had a problem with very dry lips since it got cold and nothing really worked for me aside from this lip balm. It has lots of different oils in it from olive oil to Shea butter and coconut oil. Now my lips are nice and smooth-:) The people at this store are nice and knowledgeable about the products. The oils are a little on the pricey side since a bottle starts out at $15 or 16.99 I think, but it's worth it. The Persian lime oil is tasty! Writing this review really makes me sad because I have been coming here for years and I just love this place and the wonderful items that they offer. I am a huge fan of the olive oils and balsamic vinegars so I thought I would try the coconut oil. After taking it home and trying it, I did not care for the coconut oil so I went to return it. Rather than asking for my money back I wanted to get something else so that they would not lose the sale and have to refund me. The 2 women working there were very shocked that I didn't like the coconut oil and repeatedly said "No one else has ever complained about this coconut oil." One of the women opened it, tasted it and said "There is nothing wrong with this- it is fine." She then said "So you want your money back or what?" and walked away and let the other woman deal with me. After the exchange was made, the second woman dealing with me said "Well I don't know what else to tell you-" and that was it. As much as I think this place has amazing products, I can't support a business that has employees that treat their customers this way. 5 stars all the way on the products you offer. 1 star for your customer service- and just like that you lose a customer. read more
