We've passed by Milan as we went to Pho or bundt cakes or the post office. We were looking for an Italian restaurant for a group lunch so decided to try them out. What a great restaurant. It has a large bar where you can watch sports, with a few tables nearby, and a separate large dining room with many tables. We were seated at a booth just past the bar. There was some noise, but the server turned down the background music so I only had to deal with the bar voices. Decor and atmosphere were great. High ceilings and plenty of light in the main room and darker in the dining room. The server was prompt and attentive, without hovering. We asked about 2 wines and she brought a sample from the open "wine by the glass", which was great. My wife had veal piccata and I asked for a recommendation between the linguine with clams or chicken parm. The waitress said the parm was very popular, but the linguine was her favorite, so I went with that. LOTS of clams and a nice slightly thicken sauce that stuck to the pasta and didn't drip off. My wife loved her veal. Prices were all reasonable. Overall, this is a great place for a date, group get together, or casual night out. We'll be back! read more

We had the absolute best experience at this restaurant, and it was all thanks to Jacob. He was the kind of server you talk about on the drive home. Funny, warm, totally genuine not in a rehearsed way, but in the way where you can just tell he loves what he does. My wife is expecting, and when we mentioned she needed to avoid feta on one of the appetizers he was so helpful and suggested having it served on the side and brought another cheese option for her as well. Our entire party of four agreed that he was the best waiter we've ever had the pleasure of being served by. The owners and management should be very grateful and proud to have Jacob on their team. He truly is special. We all agreed we are coming back, and a big part of that is the rare level of service he provided. Now for the food! We ordered appetizers and drinks to start. The calamari was a standout sometimes calamari can taste the same everywhere, or worse, come out chewy, but this one was cooked just right: delicious, juicy, and full of its own flavor. We also enjoyed the flatbread, which was really good almost like a gourmet cold pizza! Everyone loved their salad too which was a great way to start a meal. The entrees knocked it out of the park. All four of us ordered pasta. I had the seafood pasta, which was fresh and light, and my wife loved her chicken parmesan. We finished with desserts, and the crème brûlée won the top vote among the four we tried, with the Meyer lemon sorbet coming in a close second. We've been to Italian restaurants all across the Bay Area, and this is definitely our new go-to spot when we're craving Italian food. Milan in Willow Glen definitely has some of the best tiramisu around, at least in Santa Clara County. This definitely rivals what I've had in North Beach, in the city. They make it fresh in-house. It is light, fluffy, that perfect little kick of coffee and the fresh cream... Literally heaven SO GOOD. Lovely and brightly decorated Northern Italian restaurant on the outskirts Willow Glen. As a visitor, I've been discovering how Willow Glen is a beautiful enclave for restaurants and shops and who knows what else. So far, it's spelled good news when I find a place here. (Technically, though, according to my photos, Milan is in Dry Creek Village.) Forget the map, though, and let's eat! Had a casual dinner at Milan that was perfect for meeting a friend, maybe a date, even family. Nice wine selection and a menu that offers plenty to explore. Dishes were large enough that it was fun to share a number of things to get a sense of what's doing in the kitchen, The Beef Meatballs (Homemade meatballs served over light marinara sauce) are outstanding. Great consistency and flavor. And the bread to dip it with -- look out! Yum. The Beet Salad (Organic beet, blood orange, goat cheese, shaved fennel, olive oil, balsamic vinaigrette) is a fantastic combination assembled by true artists. I loved how it looked, how it smelled, and how it tasted. Of course, anytime fennel is part of the discussion, I will sit up and pay attention. The Veal Marsala (Veal scaloppini in a Marsala wine sauce with mushrooms and shallots, served with vegetables and potatoes) is another winner. A hearty dish with so much going on (in a good way). I admit to be out of practice with this dish. Still, Milan's take on it feels tradition and yet not at all staid and boring. The potatoes and vegetables are perfectly cooked to complement the tender meat. As we were meeting to meet and some of us to eat, we tried only these dishes. We heard this restaurant recently changed ownership and wanted to try it out! We came on a Sunday night (with a reservation) but could've honestly gone without one. The inside of this restaurant is sleek and modern, with a beautiful central bar. They even had football playing, which was a plus! The service was phenomenal and the food came out quick! We ordered the calamari to start. It came with fried vegetables as well, and the portion was quite big. The pasta dishes were all good portions as well, and my favorites were the rigatoni sausage pasta and the pasta carbonara, which I believe is their signature. We ended our meal with the panna cotta! Overall, we had a great time dining here! I'm so glad more restaurants are opening in this area, and I'll definitely be back to support! read more

Came in with some friends for dinner and this placed was packed. Note that this place is under new ownership and was told the new owners are Turkish. Overall this location is super nice but the high ceilings and packed place make it very loud and hard to hear the person next to you. Service was extremely slow. We sat down at 630 and didn't get food till 745... we also asked for a refill of bread twice but never received. I hadn't finished my salad or my drink, but was close, but the busboy took it away. The food lacks any flavor and my pork chop was dry... maybe because it took over an hour to get food. Don't need to come back, but this place does get busy... maybe because it is the only thing around the area that can hold larger gatherings. read more

My husband and I have walked past this restaurant every weekend for the past 2+ years during our morning walks to Starbucks and we have always wondered how this restaurant would fare. Our friend group decided to meet here for our holiday dinner so it was a perfect reason to try out the restaurant. I'm glad we finally tried it, but we won't be returning. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but it was extremely busy inside. It also gets ridiculously loud due to the high ceilings, noise carries. Service is ridiculously slow. We were there for 2.5+ hours and we didn't even order dessert as we just wanted to go home by the end of the meal. We placed the order for our drinks and food at the same time, but the food took 90+ minutes to arrive. Why?! For drinks, I ordered the Hugo ($16). I think they intentionally take forever to cook the food so that you're forced to order additional cocktails just to pass the time. I ended up ordering 2 cocktails. We asked for additional bread twice, but never received the extra bread. The servers don't appear to speak English very well. To no fault of their own. For my starter, I ordered the Beet Salad ($14) and I ordered the Seafood Linguine ($32) as my main. The beet salad was good, but not worth $14. The clams in my linguine were NOT fresh (half of the clams were not even opened) and had a chemical-ly taste to them. Not sure what that is about. They also claim that the pasta is hand-made, but I have a very hard time believing that the linguine was hand-made as it was far too al dente for it to be freshly made in-house. The older bus boy cleared one of our plates and one of our friend's drinks before they were even finished with them. Another one of our friends got her head bonked by the same older bus boy as he was clearing the neighboring tables plates. The tables are seated way too close to each other. Parking is plentiful as the restaurant is located in the same retail complex as Starbucks and Pho Wagon. read more

Such a cute place! There's outdoor seating with a fire feature, along with heaters - perfect for those cold CA nights - and there are 2 separate private rooms (one that seats 10 and unsure about the other). The lights were bright at first but then were turned down, which gave a warm and intimate mood, although I went with a few girlfriends. Highly rec for a romantic evening! Our server, didn't catch his name, was helpful. I didn't want the sundried tomatoes in my Milan Fettuccine; however, he said it added to its taste. Guess what... I ate a few, it did add to the flavor, but put aside the rest. The tomatoes weren't like other sundried tomatoes - they definitely were fresh and didn't seem like irritating came from a can. Additionally, I wanted parm cheese and he advised advise against it because again, the flavor of the seafood wouldn't shine through. I did get a few dashes of it regardless, I love cheese and it didn't hinder the flavor. Ordered: Milan Fettuccine $29 Sauteed rock shrimp, bay scallops, sundried tomatoes, and light roasted garlic cream sauce. 10/10 Mushroom Ravioli $25 Stuffed portobella mushroom ravioli with tomatoes cream sauce. 10/10 Grilled Salmon $29 Grilled Salmon served over roasted potato, sauteed spinach, topped with lemon caper aioli. 10/10 Penne With Chicken $27 Chopped chicken, sundried tomatoes, sweet corn, marinara, basil pesto touch of cream 10/10 Brevatorta $16 Blackberry Merlot, creme anglaise 10/10 Caramel Cheesecake 5/10 It was too sweet because of so much caramel and wanted more cheesecake flavor. came here with a friend for dinner. it's a nice restaurant, very posh - well decorated, various type of seating area (the bar is pretty cool), small separate area for more intimate gatherings, etc. It's well lighted (which I personally like). Service is friendly and attentive. The food is very, very good. Split the spinach salad - fresh spinach, pickled onions (generous amount, which I also like as it gave it a nice tart kick and texture), slivered almonds and a very light dressing. Ordered the spaghetti Bolognese and added a meatball. I don't know if it came with a meatball already, but I had 2 good size meatballs. They are very generous with the sauce and it contains a lot of meat (I didn't really need to add a meatball). The meatball was great. The sauce could have used a little more tomato kick. Definitely a lovely experience! Milan is a very classy, pristine, beautifully designed restaurant. The first thing I noticed when I walked into the restaurant was the lovely chandelier glistening above with their modern stylistic bar design. I love how they designed their bar to look very classy and elegant. The restaurant is also so bright and beautifully designed even in the private rooms. I also really like how they had very calming instrumental music with a mix of Italian music included it really adds to the atmosphere. This is quite a lovely place for a romantic date. Highly recommend. We decided to start with a classic Caesar salad and for our main course we chose the Linguini and the Chicken Marsala. The real star of the show were the main entrées. Both of our dishes were very good and had huge great portions that left us feeling very full + content. We really did enjoy the food, however I do feel like it was lacking something like possibly more seasoning. However I do get the feeling these entrees are more on the healthy side though, like not doused in butter or anything like that. lol. As for the Caesar salad it was pretty okay, nothing special to write back home about also.. lol. But I did admire how the Caesar sauce was light and seemed to be homemade as opposed to the normal super thick store Caesar dressing that most places have. Overall I really love this restaurant because it is absolutely beautiful, the customer service is amazing, and the menu is extensive also. There are so many great options to choose from, it was hard to decide! lol. I must also say I was VERY impressed by our server Jacob's and his amazing customer service. You can tell that he genuinely enjoys his work and he definitely made our experience more lovely. When we stopped by on a Sunday night the restaurant was relatively empty except for three parties, meanwhile the other parties were in the side rooms. I would definitely love come back to have dinner in the side rooms next time. They are so lovely, Jacob gave us a little tour before we left. Thank you Jacob. I also really like how there was a lot of parking available and the restaurant is well lit up in front it's so easy to find. You can even spot Milan from the street and when you arrive at night you are welcomed with all the restaurants front decorated lights. I am looking forward to visiting again sometime soon. To celebrate my birthday, my friend took me to dinner at Milan on Meridian Avenue. This was my first time dining at Milan, but my friend had been there before. The restaurant has high ceilings and seems quite spacious. The restaurant was quiet and only had a few customers when we arrived. Although it is a white tablecloth restaurant, the vibe was pretty casual, and there were people wearing shorts. We were served a basket of read with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. My friend started with the Insalatta Tricolor and I tried their Fried Calamari which also came with some fried zucchini. I liked the cocktail sauce-it had a good horseradish kick. For our entrees, my friend had the Risotto ala Capesante. Her bright yellow risotto was to9pped with three huge seared scallops. She loved it! I tried the special Linguini and clams w/prawns in a garlic sauce w/heirloom tomatoes. It. Was. So. Good. The pasta was al dente, the seafood was cooked perfectly, and I wanted to drink every last drop of that sauce. For dessert, my friend got the Breva Torte, which was layers of shortcake, berries, vanilla gelato with a blackberry merlot & creme anglaise. I opted for the dark chocolate mousse with vanilla gelato. That was a good chocolate ending for my birthday dinner. Everything was delicious, and service was excellent. 3.5 out of 5 stars but rounding down because of some things. Firstly, my family and I had a reservation for 6PM. We were seated in a private room! Very nice and intimate. The set up and decor was giving escape room (low-key) but overall, comfy and cute. It took 20 minutes for drinks to come out. I've never had to wait that long for an iced tea and a Diet Coke... which by the way, came in a can. I think they should've mentioned that but I digress. Appetizers were great. Entree was great as well. Dessert was yummy. Menu was simple and reminded me of Olive Garden in that it's general Italian food with nothing too outlandish and unique. I will say that as a Graphic Designer, I was going NUTS over their main menu and their dessert menu. It was so incredibly badly done that I want to call and offer my services for free. A family member of mine ordered something he was thought was something else all because the line spacing was so off! Went here for an Annual Ornament Exchange. There was about 15 of us. They gave us the middle room all to ourselves. Our waitress was incredible (forgot her name), drinks were delicious and the food was very tasty. Vibes are comfy by their "fireplace". Wow! What a difference under new management. Service was excellent! The calamari was a litttle different than I remember, but still excellent. I also tried the veal Marsala and chicken parm. Both were spectacular. Lost of cheese on a perfectly pounded thin and still moist breaded breast. Went for Valentine's Day dinner with wife and doggo. Excellent ambience and service. Food was great as well, but it's not cheap lol. The complimentary bread and olive oil/balsamic helped. A friend and I had dinner here recently and we really enjoyed it. Service was very good and the food was delicious. Though they did not acknowledge we had a birthday to celebrate even though I put that on the Open Table reservation. But that is ok as my friend does not like to be celebrated too wildly in public. I started with the Balisico cocktail (peach vodka, basil, apple juice, simple syrup and lime). I really enjoyed this. It was very flavorful and you could really taste the peach which I liked. I later had a glass of their pinot grigio but it was not my favorite. Ok, but not great. My friend started with the calamari: fried calamari with pesto aioli and spicy marinara. It also had some fried zucchini pieces in it. She really enjoyed this dish. I had a piece of zucchini and it was really tasty. Nice, light batter. I started with the Insalta Tricolore: Radicchio, Belgium endives, arugula, crispy quinoa, guanciale, pecorino, mustard dressing. This was delicious. Loved everything in it. It was a nice sized portion. Loved the fried guanciale. Better than bacon. For her entree, my friend had the special of the day which was linguine with clams and shrimp. It was a garlic, butter sauce. It was a bit too spicy for her but she loved it. Ate the whole thing. A ton of clams and shrimp in the dish. For my entree, I had the Risotto alla Milanese: seared scallops, peeled baby heirloom tomatoes in a salsa verde. The scallops were nicely seared and flavorful. The rice was soft and had a nice texture. Overall a really nice dish. For dessert, my friend had the Chocolate mousse with a scoop of vanilla gelato added: decadent blend of dark and semi-sweet chocolate. My friend like that it was very dark and not overly sweet. I had the Breve torta: shortcake, berries, vanilla gelato, blackberry merlot and creme anglaise. This was delicious. Loved the shortcake and the gelato. The berries and sauce were very flavorful. It's a nicely decorated restaurant inside a plaza. Plenty of parking when we were there for a holiday girls dinner. Upon entry, there's a square main bar area. Total seating areas weren't that impressive but they have private rooms. When we were trying to order the Montepulciano d'Abruzzo, our waitress advised against it and suggested us to try the 2017 Roccolo Grassi Amarone Della Valpolicella $75/bottle, which tasted better. We also ordered a Vietti Perbacco Nebbiolo 2021 $55/bottle but it was just ok. I wish there were more reasonable choices of Italian reds. The food portions were not as big for a table of 8 to share, so we had to divide into group of 4 and order for just the 4. We tried antipasti "Polpo Alla Griglia" which is the grilled Spanish octopus. The octopus was ok, a bit small in portions but the small amount of squid ink gnocchi was the highlight. The Gamberi Nero was ok, the corona beans was delicious. For the secondi, we ordered Tonnarelli which is quite creamy but really a very small portion for the price tag of $42. The Ossobucco Di Agnello lamb shank is ok, the meat is soft and I like the turnips more. The Risotto Alla Capesante seared scallops are ok, a safe dish and the farros in butter was tasty. The Orecchia di Elefante Milanese breaded veal chop is the biggest portion of all dishes, which is a big piece of fried veal with a salad that has no dressing. Desserts are not as impressive. The tiramisu was overly sweet and lacking the balance between coffee and sugar. The supposed to be mascarpone cheese also seemed too heavy. The pistachio panna cotta was ok, it tasted more with almond flavor than pistachio. The Tarfufo which is supposed to be Italian truffle mousse tasted just like coffee ice cream, very disappointing. The worst is the Zabaglione al Fruitti Itlaian custard which is soaked in sugar and we couldn't find any components of custard or peach sorbet. On a Sunday night this place is half full, so we had the main dining area mostly to ourselves. Our waitress came pouring water a few times and was generally attentive. I've been here twice now. I found it to be pretty average the first time we tried it, but I wanted to give it one more shot, so we booked a table on my birthday. We ordered the avocado in pastiella which was okay. The tempura batter got soggy pretty quickly. The polpo alla griglia wasn't very tender at all. The calamari was overly salty. The meatballs were decent! Tender, not dried out, and good flavor. I enjoyed the lasagna too but found the portion to be small for the price. The bread they serve with olive oil and balsamic is very good too! So soft and fluffy. Service wasn't great. They sat us away from the main dining room and we were the only diners in there for quite sometime, though there were plenty of tables in the main dining room. Maybe they wanted to sit us away because we had a baby? Fair enough. We don't mind and understand that reasoning. But it took quite some time to place our order and hard to get anyone's attention since we were tucked away. When our waitress finally came by and I let her know we were ready to order, she said she thought we were waiting for other guests. But when we first got seated we told her we just needed a couple more minutes to decide our order so not sure why it took so long for her to come back. Food came out in a timely manner though so that's a saving grace. And then once more we waiting a long time to get boxes and the check. I see other reviews where people celebrated their birthday and got a dessert on the house but they didn't bring anything for our table. So I'm really unsure what their standard is in terms of celebrations, seems inconsistent. Anywho after two lackluster experiences here, it's safe to say I won't be back, despite how beautiful the restaurant is and how much I really wanted to enjoy the food here. read more

I visited this place when it was newish/newer and it was so delicious. Food was generous and well prepared. Place was classy but not overwhelming. The ambiance was delightful. Visited again during the new year and service was slow even though there weren't many patrons. Wine took forever to arrive (about 15 minutes?). Dishes took about 30-40 minutes to arrive. To top it off, after that wait, nothing was good. My chicken madera had ONE piece of sad chicken. Sauce was too salty. Portions were tiny at $31. At $31 I'd literally dine anywhere else. My friends did not enjoy their dishes either (gnocchi, beet salad, and some sort of white pasta that had no seafood in it but was supposed to have seafood in it.) Later found out that perhaps the business has recently been sold. Won't return, sadly. read more

The service was a little slow and we had to ask several times for our waitress, but the Christmas ambiance and decorations were super cute! Tiramisu and panna cotta were really good as well! We had the best dinner out at Milan. Everything was fresh and scrumptious. The garlic bread is the best we have ever had. They let me add meat sauce to my gnocchi dish, and it was so filling and tasty. My dinner friends ordered cultures, linguine, pesto gnocchi and the pork chop. Everyone was very happy with their dishes: We loved everything, including the chocolate mousse and caramel cheesecake. read more

Id stick with the appetizers if I come back. I had really high hopes for this new restaurant but o was a little underwhelmed by the food. The inside of the restaurant has a nice bar and then multiple rooms and large tables for bigger parties. I think the ambiance and the decorations inside were nice and classy. I arrived a bit later so my party had already ordered appetizers. The pulpo and the beans with shrimp. Their appetizers were incredible! I thought the octopus was cooked perfectly, the sauce was great and the beans were also not mushy and well seasoned. We were really looking forward to our meal, but I was a little underwhelmed by the main course. The pasta was a bit plain and didn't have any exciting or stand out flavors, and my dad said the lamb shank was also just alright. For dessert, I'm a big panna cotta fan so I got the pistachio panna cotta but it ended up being a bit denser/thick than I like and too sweet for me. I didn't get a chance to try their drinks but the next time I come I'll probably pass on the main courses. read more

We've dined at Milan many times and have usually enjoyed great experiences, but today was a complete disappointment. Despite having a 6 p.m. reservation, we were left waiting over 20 minutes with no table in sight. The manager was shockingly rude, unprofessional, and clearly uninterested in helping. Thankfully, the lady at the bar was incredibly kind and attentive. Noticing our frustration, she served us cocktails and food at the bar, which somewhat salvaged the evening. Still, it's hard to understand the point of making reservations when so many tables were empty but the manager refused to seat us. No one--aside from the gracious bar attendant--bothered to check on us. Horrible service overall. We won't be returning. The new Turkish owners ruined this place. read more

Our server Jacob was simply amazing ! Friendly, upbeat and made sure we were taken care of throughout the entire sitting. Food was incredible from our starters (crab cakes) until the glass of port! Highly recommend trying Milan's and hopefully Jacob is your server! read more

Nice local Italian spot with a nice bar. My daughter enjoyed the seafood pasta. We did a pick up order. Next time, I'll definitely eat there and check out the scene. read more
