When I arrived early just to check in, they said our table was ready whenever we wanted, and they happily started serving us at 6:30. Some people were seated outside, with tent umbrellas to shield the rain, and there was an upstairs room with more of a brewhouse experience. I recommend the latter if you're visiting. The downstairs room felt sparse and too open. Things got a little funky after that. Everything requires ordering through Toast, which worked for most of us but not all. Toast is missing the personal touch of people asking for your order when you are getting table service and not ordering at the counter. The one lady serving us was generous to personally take the order for my one friend who didn't want to put his credit card online. Otherwise, your order is carted over by "teenagers" (the lady's exact quote) from the smokehouse across the street. When you place your order, it comes out as it's prepared. Your table may not all come out at once, especially if it's 7 people like ours. Drink and deal with it, I suppose. But the wait from first dish to last wasn't terribly long. I really enjoyed my sandwich. They did a great job with their smoked chicken - I'm glad I let their smokehouse influence me. It was on an excellent pretzel bun. Great beer. So other than people's rumblings about Toast, we had a good time overall and didn't let the weather rain on our parade.

I grabbed a pint and sat a spell and then took-away a growler of The Bishop (PB&J Porter?). It was really really good! I didn't try the food but I'm absolutely wanting to head back here. What I loved was the overflow room off the entrance. They had 8-12 picnic tables set up for their busy times that were pour-room adjacent. I saw some table games as I walked through to the main bar. So far this is one of my 5 favorite breweries in state offering great beer and a cool space(s) to enjoy said beer.

No one was super…read morehungry, but we heard good things and figured we take a few bites of our food and bring the rest home when people were actually hungry. Nope - too much flavor! Every bite consumed. Everything on their menu is absolutely a home run! My oldest and wife had the house made veggie burger - it was perfectly seasoned and cooked. My youngest had the pulled pork. The flavor of the pork was nothing like we'd ever tasted before - Smokey and savory, but a huge taste of brown sugar without being overly sweet. Not sure how the maestro in the kitchen/on the smoker pulled that magic trick. I had the most amazing bowl of chili. Smokey and robust, full of beans and meat - everything you want in a chili, but done so perfectly well you just don't know how they pulled it off. And if you want something to close out your meal, the marshmallow & nutella flatbread is heavenly. It's like a less messy, better smore. The food in one word: magical. And their beer is NOT to be missed. Every beer I tried was well balanced, flavorful, and clean. If you're ever in Greenville, or if you're hunting for a place in west Michigan that's off the beaten path that you can show off to other folks, this is the spot!!!

There was an awkward pause, so I finally asked the young lady if she was going to answer my question. She eventually did. I then asked about an online menu, and she said they didn't have one, followed by, "I have to go," and she hung up. I sincerely hope she was just having a bad day, because if this is how the business operates--or what they allow their employees to get away with--they have a serious problem. There is simply no excuse for being rude to a potential new customer. I was calling because I was interested in trying their pizza and potentially becoming a customer. Unfortunately, after that experience, I will never darken their door or spend a dime there. First impressions matter, and this one was certainly not a good one.
