I went with a friend and she wanted the shrimp roll, I wanted the lobster roll and we both wanted to try the crab roll. I thought this place was very good. I had the Maine lobster roll and it is a very generous roll. Served with a large side of French fries and coleslaw. Lunch came out quickly and the service was friendly and efficient. I didn't think the lobsters roll was overpriced at all, the roll was stuffed with lobster. My husband and I recently went to Maine to get devour lobster rolls. & we would have to say Steami's isn't like Maine or the New England Area, but it's still VERY good. We would pass the bisque and chowder, it was quite runny and had a sour taste to it. However, we are huge fans of the habanero crab melt, lobster and shrimp grilled cheese melt, Connecticut-style lobster roll, and Maine-style lobster roll. Every item was HUGE and had plenty of lobster in each bite. The spicy mayo complemented the rolls so well. We ordered twice on DoorDash as well and it does not disappoint. Great way to end the week! My wife had the lobster roll and she said that the lobster was good but just a little tough. I shared the crab roll and the shrimp roll with her. The shrimp on the shrimp roll was cooked perfect and the seasoning was good too. The crab roll for me was good but it could use bigger pieces of crab. It put me in the mind of tuna salad but still it was good too. For a seafood spot this was some of the cheesiest Mac and cheese I've ever had. Another review a week later. I ordered a take out this time of the Maine lobster roll with a side of mac and cheese and lobster bisque. -1 star again. The mac and cheese is still too creamy to be called what it is. The lobster bisque however is really good. I recommend it over the clam chowder. Another thing I recommend is mixing the lobster bisque with the mac and cheese to neutralize the creamy-ness. An issue I noticed with the lobster rolls both times I've gotten it is that they don't fully de-shell the lobster. I've had bites that had a piece of shell in it. I visited Steami's during a weekday. It wasn't that busy, which is good because the place isn't that big. You order at the counter then seat yourself. I got the Connecticut lobster roll which was good for the most part. I think the butter on the roll was too much. I'm not big on a lot of butter and I do wish they seasoned the lobster but they provided condiments for you to season it yourself. It also came with a side of butter which I didn't need. There's a new spot for seafood rolls! My wife and I always look for the newest places that can offer a good lobster/crab/shrimp roll. We try not to, but we tend to always make the comparison to the first time we had Luke's Lobster in NYC, which was amazing. Steami's does a few things right in my book. The first is that it offers options for big portions, seriously look at the photo. That's pretty much one order that is more than enough for two people, and it came with chowder! Splendid. Next is that it offers both Maine and Connecticut style rolls, we went with the Connecticut for a more crisp roll. Each roll came with plenty of meat stuff within the crunchy roll. My favorite being the crab meat roll, it was super packed in with lots of flavor and sauce. Chowder was hardy, most satisfying to eat. Overall, I'm glad a new place has popped up in my usual area of places to eat in Duluth. Definitely a bit pricey, but I can say it's worth the money and the drive. read more

When this place first opened it was pretty good. The quality of the seafood was great. However, the quality has gone down since then and unfortunately it's no longer worth it to be paying high prices for mediocre quality. There are issues with how they are prepping the food. Previously everything was hot. The fries were piping hot and crispy, the hot lobster roll was actually heated, the chilled lobster roll was actually chilled. Now there are weird inconsistencies with the temperature and quality of the food. The lobster tastes freezer-burnt. The fries are lukewarm, even the loaded fries. The lobster Mac & cheese - well, the macaroni is hot but the lobster ranges from lukewarm to ice cold. It's not exactly the most appetizing thing to eat when you're getting a mix of hot and cold in a dish, especially mac & cheese, you know? Everything just tastes off now either due to temperature inconsistencies or freezer-burnt seafood. The prices are steep, but for this quality it just doesn't make sense. I will say they don't skimp out on portions. The rolls are on huge garlicky slices of bread. They do pack the roll with lots of lobster or whichever seafood you are getting. They do give a lot of fries. I would say the trio is the best deal as you can try 3 different rolls and a side for about $60. It's good to split this one with a friend or two. Their food is pretty heavy and a little too rich, but I have friends who used to really like this place before quality went down. They could easily get back at 4 or 5 stars if they kept up with the quality of their food and temperatures. Service is okay, sometimes a hit or miss. Unfortunately I'm not coming back anytime soon, I think several friends and I have just been disappointed one too many times. Maybe in the future if I hear good things again. read more
