Another great meal with the family and another chance to have an attentive Amanda be our waitress. She draws the most amazing take away box covers for Randy Raccoon :) Tonight I had the delicious turkey dinner with fixings. Large pieces of fresh turkey, wonderful gravy and perfectly mashed potats. I miss having brussel sprouts and hope they come back to the menu. I also really miss the better quality of boxed teas they used to have versus Lipton, to me it's so bitter. Otherwise. They were very busy Saturday night but the bathrooms were clean, the floors in the dining room were great and Amanda really is attentive and kind. Thank you

Love the building, love the food. We enjoyed everything about this place! Had a great server who told us history of the building! Nice individual tables with high back chairs! For an app we had the bacon lobster dip, outstanding! I had the Reuben sandwich , which was very good! Real toasted bread not done and finished on a flat top! Tasty! Especially loved the loaded mash potatoes! Wide variety in the menu! And reasonably priced! Will be back!!

Great dinner with friends. This is a great place eat and watch trains as they rumble by. They have a large menu and friendly staff. Nice selection of micros, wine, and cocktails. I had the braised short rib with potatoes and carrots. Excellent The owner talked with me about the building. She told me how she and her husband renovated the building over 17 years. Solid stone walls and beautiful wood throughout. Awesome renovation. Lots of railroad memorabilia throughout the station including a cool shoe shine station.

We were really looking forward to having dinner here, like for years and it was highly recommended by a friend so we made a point of going. This restaurant is really beautiful and very authentic decor as it was a train station in a previous life. Our dinners were a turkey dinner, a steak dinner and I got the lobster Mac and cheese. The dinners were good, but we weren't overly impressed, especially my lobster Mac and cheese was disappointing. Our service was good, but we noticed other servers were telling patrons about the history of the building and we had to eavesdrop to get the scoop. If I happened to be in the area I would stop and order something like a sandwich if I was hungry, but I won't make a special trip there again.

Steaming Tender exceeded my expectations big time! I've been wanting to go since moving to Belchertown in 2023 and now I'm kicking myself for not getting my butt there sooner! First of all, the vibes are so COOL. The old train station vibes and details are just amazing. And the waitstaff are called conductors and rock old school train overalls or jumper dresses and that's just so stinking cute. I love a good theme. Sara G was our conductor and we adored her. She was so genuine and you could tell she cared - the girl memorized what seemed like an endless specials menu and dessert menu like a boss! She was so much fun and absolutely added to our experience. Shout out to meeting another Sara without an H (h's are ewwwww!). But the FOOD! My boyfriend got the steak tips on Alfredo and the steak was the most tender, juicy steak we maybe have ever had. It was SO good. I had the whole belly clam special and while the clams were good, my side of mac and cheese was the star. It was so decadent and gooey and cheesy and rich and just what you want with a mac and cheese splurge. Cannot wait to come back AND check out some of the awesome events and tours coming! Love to see this kind of stuff happening locally, it's a great area and we need more of this!!

Food was great, I ordered the buffalo chicken mac and cheese and the flavor profile was excellent. Service was extremely friendly and fast despite our large group. Also just love the overall ambiance and vibe of the repurposed depot station turned restaurant. Very on brand!

    Sat by the railroad

My husband who is a railroad enthusiast stopped here for dinner on the return leg of a trip from Texas to Massachusetts. It was the highlight of the trip other than viewing Graceland after hours. We split the Limoncello Haddock, which was delicious! The old train station was pristine relic of the past.

Steaming Tenders dining room decked out for the Holidays. Very festive!

    Is there outdoor dining?

There was when I was there in July. You sit out on a patio directly next to the train tracks. While there we had a train come through (they go very slow), which was pretty unique as far as my dining experiences go.

    Does it have handicap parking?

Hi Barbara- we have handicap parking to the right and left of the building. Please reach out if you have additional questions.

The meal I received (Eggs Benedict Florentine, a regular menu item) was not what I ordered (Tara's Benedict, on the specials menu), but by then I was so hungry that I just ate it. It was good. However, after a runner delivered our food, our waitress never checked in with us, or even made eye contact with us, until we were done eating. When she finally came, I told her (politely) that I had ordered Tara's Benedict but had received Florentine. She seemed to not know what to do with this information - but she did want me to know that she correctly submitted my order. Okay, I said, I just wanted to let you know that there was a miscommunication somewhere. She brought us our bill promptly (the incorrect meal was not taken off the bill), but then there was more waiting for her to come back and take our credit card. Finally my dining companion went up to the register to pay the bill. While there, they tried to explain to him what happened - apparently the chef had a different specials list than the specials menu that was given to customers. This does not really explain the mix-up. Plus, it was 11am on a Saturday - near the end of the breakfast period. How did they not realize sooner that the chef and the wait staff had different specials menus? This establishment is a little off the beaten path; you have to make it a destination - something I will not be doing again.

Thankfully, I was able to substitute the prime rib for salmon, which was absolutely delicious. And the warmed cider? To die for. The atmosphere truly brings you back in time. Checked out the fireplace and roasting jack, and immediately went outside for a sleigh ride. It was fun, and lasted about 10 min. We headed back in and had some cheese spread and crackers which were good and a drink from the bar. Soon it was time for warm mulled cider and wine. It's cool how they heat them up, with a plunge of a hot poker from the blazing fireplace. The mulled wine was very good. Shortly after the mulled wine the prime ribs came off the roasting jack, the fire built up, and the cauldron put on for the seafood chowder. All the ingredients went in, and people were offered the opportunity to stir it. Things wrapped up downstairs and the crowd headed upstairs to the dining room. I'd say there was ~150 people. Tickets were $90 each. It's communal dining which I typically like. It's cool to talk to different people and see where they come from etc. Not tonight. The person sitting next to us was like a radio you wish you could turn off for 2 hours. Not the restaurant's fault of course, but it did distract from the evening. Bread was served, white bread rolls and sweet potato muffins, I didn't try them but they looked nice. The seafood chowder came out, it was very good. The main course was brought to the tables, it was prime rib, 2 salted roasted potatoes, and a healthy dollop of mashed butternut squash. Unfortunately this is where the real disappointment started for me. My prime rib was so tough that I couldn't cut through it with a steak knife, and raw. I ate one of the potatoes, and it was fine. The butternut squash had thanksgiving type spices and the taste I had of them was nice. The myoglobin from the raw meat turned everything red and watery so I didn't eat apart from that. Dessert was hotel pans of apple pie, I didn't try it. Not being a quitter I took the prime rib home and after cutting off the hard fat with a proper kitchen knife was able to salvage ~4.5 oz. I tried to coax some tenderness into it with a quick sear and it worked. Unfortunately it was livery so into the trash it went. In my humble opinion the experience was very nice, with the food taking a back seat. That said, other people seemed to enjoy their meals, mine may have been the outlier. I won't be back.

According to the internet, when I searched to see if they were safe to eat, it says "No -- throw them out. The ammonia smell is a clear sign of spoilage, and eating them puts you at risk of foodborne illness (nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, cramps, etc.). Even if they were fried and look/taste okay otherwise, the decomposition has already started." The rest of the meal was "ok" but when I brought the potentially spoiled scallops to the attention of my server, she discussed it with her boss. The boss said they comp me a beer I had drank. Now, I don't own a restaurant, but I would assume that those scallops were a much larger portion of my bill than the draft beer. I mentioned that to the server and she went back to the boss lady, only to come back and offer a $10 discount. Perhaps if the boss lady would have come out and talked to me about it, I would have been ok with that but she stayed in her office because she was "very busy". This is when I started to get annoyed. I could hear them talking on the other side of the wall and mentioned to the server that I was really surprised she didn't come out to talk to me about this problem. She reiterated that the boss lady was very busy. However, the server wasn't able to apply the $10 discount so boss lady had to come out and do it. To add insult to injury, the woman completely ignored me as she stood about a foot or so in front of me. I had to ask her if she was the manager or the owner and her reply was just "I'm married to him." Then began telling me that the scallops my wife had were from the "same batch". I had smelled those scallops and they did smell fine but that doesn't mean there wasn't a problem with the ones in my order. I said I was surprised she didn't come out to talk to me and she just said "it's been a very long day!" I replied with "You serve FOOD to customers." Then she just threw her hands up and walked away. I wasn't rude, didn't raise my voice and was still disrespected as a customer. First time there, and will never return not do I recommend anyone else does. Hopefully I don't get sick from eating there.

The bar was very busy and the cocktail menu seems very good. So I can definitely see this place as your after work dinner with friends place to be. But for a calm casual dinner - maybe not. Overall it is a good place. But probably not for everyone - but doesn't need to be.
