I wish I came here when they opened. All the food that we ordered during lunch was delicious. The shrimp tempura came with a sweet chili sauce, pan-fried shrimp and pork dumplings (they charge $1 for pan-fried), and Mongolian beef. The place is large and the staff were efficient and friendly. Their dinnerware is branded with their logo. I will definitely come here again to try their other menu items.
Great food and awesome service. I wish the Xiao Long Bao skin was a little thinner, but it was still pretty good. I really enjoyed the Hand Wide Noodles, they were flavorful, tasty, and not too spicy. The environment was clean and bright
I stopped by Steam Dumpling on Main Street in Stafford on a bit of a whim while heading to another restaurant nearby. After a quick check on Yelp and seeing consistently positive reviews, I decided to give it a try--and I'm glad I did. The space was clean and casual, perfect for a quick bite. Service was fast and attentive, which I really appreciated since I was just stopping in briefly. I initially ordered the black pepper beef tenderloin, but the beef had an unusual taste that didn't sit well with me. It didn't seem like a sauce issue--just something off with the meat itself. I mentioned it to the server, who was very kind and responsive. He assured me the Mongolian beef was made with a different cut, and I decided to give it a try instead. That turned out to be the highlight of my visit. The Mongolian beef was absolutely delicious--tender, flavorful, and easily one of the best I've had. Portions were satisfying, and the dish came out quickly. Even though my first dish missed the mark for me, the way the staff handled it and the quality of the replacement really stood out. That level of service makes a difference. I'd definitely come back to try other items on the menu, especially their dumplings next time.
Very authentic place for Stafford/Sugar Land area. Spicy beef noodle soup was excellent and flavorful. Pan fried cabbage and pork dumplings were nice and crispy. Enjoyed the soup dumplings which were good texture skin and soupy. We liked the beef roll but would request sauce on the side next time. Chinese burger was good. Vegetable dumplings were ok. Sautéed green beans were cooked well but on the saltier side so would request light salt next time. And we had the fried buns for dessert which were delicious w condensed milk. Looking forward to trying more items in the future.
(+) Food was good or OK depending on the dish. Personally, I like the beef noodle soup. Everything else was OK. (+) A Chinese offering in an area that does not have much in this type of cuisine is a nice benefit for those who live nearby. (+) The interior is clean and new (+) Our server was bilingual and courteous. (+) Plenty of parking. (-) The prices are on the steeper side. Also, tips are counted on top of tax Discovered this place a few weeks ago and got a chance to give it a visit on a Saturday evening around 6:15pm. There was a 10-15 minute wait and then we were seated at a nice long booth for our party of 4. It was a pleasant experience, up until the bill came. It might be a Chowbus thing, but they count their tips after/on top of tax which irritates me. On top of that, their tip scale starts at 18%, and of course you experience that awkward scenario where you press those buttons on the tablet while they are standing over you. All in all, this was an OK meal. If I am in the immediate area and craving dumplings, I may return.
Came here after a friend recommended it. The place was clean and you could order from the QR code on the table or from the waiter. Our group ordered 4 different dumplings, chili oil wontons, and the cucumber salad to share. The standout dumplings were the fried. The crispy bottom was great! The cucumber salad was refreshing and I enjoyed the chunky pieces vs. the usual sliced. The dumplings here are small in size which I wasn't into. Literally bite sized.
SteamDumpling located in Stafford is relatively new. The restaurant is brightly lit, and is decorated simply. There are seats for big and small groups. Finding a parking spot in the strip mall is also easy and free! My family and I were seated promptly. The service staff was very friendly and polite. We had fried tofu, Chinese style fried chicken, Szechuan eggplant, Dan Dan noodle, xiao long bao, and pan fried pork and shrimp dumplings. Both appetizer dishes were good. The fired tofu was presented in small cubes, and the Chinese style fried chicken reminded me of popcorn chicken. Both dishes were fried well, and we could just popped them into our mouths. The eggplant had the right spiciness, and was cooked really well. Dan Dan noodle had a good proportion of meat to noodles. Both dumpling dishes were really tasty too. The fillings were ample, and the dumpling skins weren't thick. I can see this as our staple restaurant to go to when we crave for dumplings and more.
The wide hand-pulled noodles were definitely the standout dish for me: chewy, flavorful, and perfectly done. So good we ordered another one! The eggplant, green beans, and cucumber dishes were all solid classic staples you'd expect at many Asian restaurants, but still very tasty. The crispy lace on the pan-fried dumplings was a great touch and added a nice texture. Didn't like the clear broth beef noodle soup as it lacked flavor. Portion sizes were a bit on the smaller side, especially if you're coming with a larger group to share multiple dishes. The price for how full you felt was slightly lower than at other restaurants esp. compared to those in Chinatown. Overall, it's a fairly average Chinese restaurant, but with a few standout items and friendly service. Given the limited competition in the area, it's a great option and I'll be back.
New restaurant, great food! We had different sets of dumplings, both pan fried and steamed. There is so much flavor in each bite. Fillings were adequate, each dumpling was filled properly. My favorite was the pan fried dumplings but the steamed dumplings were really fresh and hot as well. Xiao long baos were also really good. I want to come back!
Wow, this place was very unassuming but absolutely blew me away. SOOO fire. Got exactly what I wanted when I ordered these dishes. Crispy spicy fried chicken Chewy spicy hand pulled single noodle Juicy piping hot soup dumplings Crispy salty shrimp Soft, wok caramelized perfect eggplant I had brought dessert and they were even nice enough to store it in the fridge for us until after our meal. 5 STARS!!!!
I'm not sure if it gets much better than this. Steam Dumpling offers authentic soup dumplings, hand pulled noodles, and other various chinese dishes. The service is honestly very good and not at all reminiscent of the "rude but good food" stereotype that you'll find at other chinese spots. The interior is a bit small, but I have personally never felt that it was crowded or too loud. The food is really good! With nearby Dumpling World also serving similar dishes, I think that I prefer Steam Dumpling. The portion sizes at Steam Dumpling tend to be a bit larger and the flavors are either very similar or slightly more similar to what I have had in Asia before. Standout dishes to me are the soup dumplings (xiao long bao), wide hand pulled noodles (oil splashed noodles--some of the best I have ever had), steamed pork and shrimp dumplings, and you can not come here without ordering the beef roll pancake. Our favorite dish that we always order one (and have ordered more than one before) is the beef roll pancake. It is a scallion pancake cooked to a perfect crisp and then filled with tender braised beef, hoisin sauce, and copious amounts of cilantro and green onions--perfect! Steam Dumpling will be a staple in our restaurant rotation for a long time.
Excellent! I'm always on the lookout for great dumplings and noodles so I was super excited to try this restaurant. The restaurant is clean and minimally decorated and the staff was very friendly. The fried chicken was hot and a little less seasoned than what I'm used to. The wide hand pulled noodles were absolutely spectacular! The texture of the noodles were perfect and the sauce was exceptionally well seasoned and fresh garlic heavy. My favorite noodle spot is Xing's Kitchen and the rendition at Steam Dumpling was very comparable and equally delicious. The XLB was also quite outstanding. The wrapper was elasticity and delicate and the filling was tasty and accompanied by abundant savory soup. My diagnosis: come here for the scrumptious wide hand pulled noodles and XLB!
My family and I were so so pleased about this location, opening up close to where we live. It is so delicious with lots of traditional Chinese food to choose from. Even though I was super busy, the staff or somehow super fast and delivered the food promptly and helped clear the table whenever we finished each plate promptly. I appreciated them, checking up on us very much. I would recommend getting the chili oil noodles. Those were probably some of the best I've had. Also, I really like the fried pork dumplings. Those are great as well. Sugar Land doesn't really have many places that you can get soup dumplings so it was nice that we could get it here. The passionfruit tea was pretty good too! I wish the best for this business and if they continue to deliver top-notch customer service and delicious food like this, they're going to do well no matter what! #taiwanesedadapproved

New to me! Clean open space, fast service, fresh and tasty eats. Shared parking lot in a strip center. No alcohol (there are some beer taps but they are leftover from the sushi place located here before and should really be covered up). Faves: Beef roll pancake Wide hand pulled noodle Note: Xiao long bao are a little small, not much soup. Good flavor though read more

My mom & I have been wanting to try Steam Dumpling since they opened. Walk in order on the kiosk was easy. The food was fresh and made to order which is great! The fried rice was yummy with great flavor. The wide noodles are so good perfect amount of sauce and spice. Chicken chicken fried perfectly generous amount of seasoning. My mom loved the beef pancakes. Great service, fresh food, reasonably priced. Cant beat that. New family staple. read more
A solid place located in the Stafford area that doesn't require you to drive all the way to bellaire chinatown if you're craving noodles and dumplings! We ended up getting the vegetarian dumplings, which had a nice, thin wrapper. Not overly thick or doughy with tons of filling. The chili oil noodles don't look like much, but they are packed full of flavor. Unlike the dumplings, the noodles are thick, chewy, and hand-pulled. Definitely worth grabbing as well. The inside is pretty large and the waitstaff is super friendly. Definitely looking forward to trying out a few more of their dishes the next time I come back. read more
Delicious! So happy to have Steam Dumplings on the neighborhood. Small and quaint but pack full of deliciousness. Our go-to: - Spicy beef noodle soup - Pulled Noodles - Pork Soup Dumplings I just can't get enough of their pulled noodles. It's so good and perfect serving for$10. There's no protein, so keep that in mind but I just eat with their Dumplings. We've tried the steamed and the steamed soup Dumplings. My kids inhale the soup Dumplings every time that we'd have to order 2. My picky eater loves the fried fish appetizer as his meal. My hubs gets the spicy beef noodle soup. They don't have enough protein for my guy so he would request extra beef which is a $5 up charge. The flavored green tea is refreshing. Food comes out quick. There's 2 large TV screens which it's usually playing a sporting event. There's a kiosk in the front to the left of you want to order to go. We see lots of ppl stop in to order to go. I'm so happy for this addition to the shopping center. It's located right next to tropical smoothie. Will be frequenting this location to try all their Dumplings but I have yet to deviate from ordering the pull noodles. I highly recommend this place. Easy to stop in for a quick dining or to-go. Service is straight to the point and the ladies were always kind. read more
Dumplings were 10/10 really good. The chilli oil they had on the table tasted fresh, also ordered the wide hand pulled noodles . Not that they didn't cook it in a timely matter that was good. But just the way the waiter talked too me . Just wast friendly at all. She just seemed annoyed , like my question about the menu annoyed her. Or to ask if they had Coke Zero here, her response is like "no ! ONLY DIET COKEE" like she's mad at me for even asking lol maybe she has a language barrier and doesn't know so I could be wrong. But overall it is a good place and maybe I'll come back . Overall great experience and would recommend . I hope all restaurants get Coke Zero in the near future lol food was really fresh and great tho read more

Nice clean place, simple decor. Friendly staff, good service. We ordered the clear broth beef noodle soup, veggie eggrolls, fried chicken, and sesame balls. The clear broth beef noodle soup was flavorful. The fried chicken was good as well, nice and crispy with light breading and light seasoning. The sesame balls were a nice sweet delish dessert, and the veggie eggrolls were crispy with fresh veggies. Prices are reasonable, I definitely recommend this place! I already plan to return to try other menu items!!! read more

I'm obsessed with dumplings and all things noodles so when shopping, I scan for a noodle house. This may be my new favorite. The place is clean and the staff solicitous. The food is incredibly good. Not just good, incredibly so. The chow mein noodles with beef was well flavored, savory and full of umami. The pan fried dumplings were well stuffed, juicy and crisp. Their homemade wide noodles with chili packed the right amount of heat and tooth. These folks will be around for a while. read more

Phenomenal! We're still stunned from the excellent service, and more importantly, the tastes, flavors and wonderful textures of the food. So far I have visited Steam Dimpling and have been happy each time. Szechaun Eggplant has been my go to dish. The eggplant looks beautifully colorful on the plate. I add chicken to my order. The sauce is flavorful, I ask for it to be spicy. Any drawbacks? Not enough chicken and there are no lunch prices. This location is clean and well lit up by the windows at the store front. Service is quick and friendly. read more

- I was impressed by the dumplings - thinly wrapped dough with juicy fillings, complimented by the house dipping sauce. - The beef roll pancakes were not bad, lightly crispy on the outside. I was just not expecting fresh scallions and cilantro in the middle which made the pancakes a bit cold - The tea egg was good. I enjoyed the tea flavor, I think everyone should give it a try. - The spicy beef noodle soup wasn't that good unfortunately. Only the noodles were chewy and had good texture, other than that, everything else was meh. The soup tasted kinda artificial and not truly authentic. The beef cubes were dry and not tender and juicy enough. Service was great and on point, the restaurant was clean and well organized/decorated. Would come back to try other dishes and give an update on reviews read more

Let me tell you how I almost died; today. To warn others with allergens I have a shrimp allergy - I'm very careful and cognizant when ordering. I double checked both receipt and order I checked over the uber eats and the actual menu and ordered chicken and corn dumpling .... A WHOLE SHRIMP in EVERY dumpling. I needed an Epi pen injection and my dr has me headed to the hospital for an appointment. They literally left shrimp off the ingredients when it's the biggest piece of "meat" in the dumpling. I don't even rant because I feel for the service industry and restaurants - small businesses. Insane read more

Nothing hits better than one of my favorite comfort foods. Today I got the pleasure to try steam dumplings that was referred by one of my friends. This new dumpling place is spacious and the staff was friendly. I went with a large group of people and order plenty of food to share. We had cucumbers, sesames balls, scallions pancakes, beef roll pancakes, salt and pepper shrimp green beans, chicken wings, Chinese style fried chicken, wonton with chili oil, lamb shao mai, xiao long bao, pan fried dumplings and some wide hand pull noodles. All of my friends rate this place a 10/10 and was glad I bought them here. Some of my favorite were the wide hand pull, pan fried dumpling, xiao long bao, cucumbers. But honestly everything we ordered was very delicious. Definitely can't wait to come back again and definitely worth a visit. I wish I got a photo of everything but we dive into the amazing food too quickly. read more
