Service at this location is horrible. The people behind left after no service. They re sitted the booth and took their order before ours. We waited 30 minutes, asked a rude server who our server was, and said blew us off said someone would be around soon. Finally asked for a general manager. Ask him who our server was and he said they're busy. Well duh. Thank you for that great information. But who is our server? Well they are on rotation. Finally the host took our order. Been there an hour and still no food read more

Ordered the new "PrimeBurger" that looked so good on tv. Stated I wanted just lettuce and tomato. When I got home and opened the package there was mustard oozing out all around. But even worse, I could hardly bite through the hamburger. It must have been sitting under a heat lamp all day, extremely dry and tasteless. I hadn't been to a Sn'S for many years. Now I remember why. Tear this place down and build a Hardee's!!!! read more

Very disappointed bad service they were out of bacon the taco salad was lettuce and cheese with a table spoon of meat and a tiny cup of salsa which took about 40 minutes also my burger was ok with cold frys read more

Waited 30 minutes at drive thru, never coming back :) seriously don't know how they are still in business. Good thing there was a culvers near by, their food is better anyway read more

Me and my mother go here every Saturday, and eat. The cash register wasn't working, so the manager offered to pay our bill! He's a very nice guy. There's only one problem, it's really small though. I got the mini sliders but the meat was really thin and burnt, but the manager took the sliders off our bill. The servers are very nice too. Great place. read more

Waited in line while the person in front of us talked it up for 12 minutes then when we got up to the intercom she told us to hold on before we ordered waited another 10 minute and then got told to pull forward till our food gets done. now we've been waiting here for our food for 17 minutes still haven't gotten it and ordered two cheeseburgers and there are zero other customers read more

Tip..when u r seated order your shakes. When u get shakes order food. Shakes take forever and food comes out quick, usually. If not u will get your shake after u have finished your meal. That is how it ALWAYS IS! Don't use drive thru unless u have an hour to waste, also check your meal so you will see it's wrong. read more

This is the worst steak n shake I've ever been to the people are very rude and I'll never be back

I usually get the Frisco melt platter whenever I eat at Steak n Shake. I must say the sandwich has gone downhill in recent years. The bread is supposed to be toasted, not burned. Also, I find they have started lacking on the amount of sauce on the sandwich which is my favorite part. Generally seems to be not cleaned well. Tables were a bit dirty and greasy hand prints all over the glass that divides the tables. read more

All around bad service: Servers would stand behind the counter and talk while our food would get cold. Our shakes would basically be flavored milk by the time we get them. Servers would be extremely rude. The last time my husband and I went here it took them 25 minutes to seat us when there were no customers around, then we waited another 15 minutes and no server came to check on us. We finally walked out and went to McDonald's. read more

Food: 4/5 The Steakburgers are alright, the French fries are eh, but the milkshakes are awesome! Though slightly expensive, $4 something for a milkshake is kinda ridiculous to me read more

Great food. However manager does not manage effectively. Had the poor hostess overworked she was busing tables and hosting with no help the other day! We brought it to his attention and he was a real jerk. Reminds me of Johnny Rockets! The BBQ Burger thing I get is amazing thou! read more

Don't know if the food is good or not after waiting and waiting to seated and never did I finally just left. It would not even been so bad but 1 employee walk past me 3 times . If he could have least said be right with you or give me a minute or something instead of just working. read more

The service here is terrible. Every single time I've come through the drive through or places a carry out order I've waited over 30 minutes for my food. I'm a delivery driver so this is very unprofessional. read more

Absolutely awful service, they spat in my milkshake and called me a faggot; I tried asking for a manager and they told me I "had no power here" read more

Worst dinning experience of my life! Took forever to get our food. Order was wrong and food was cold. Manager couldn't speak with us because she was tied up on a phone call in her office. Would give them -5 stars if possible. read more

Service was terribly slow, the place was not busy at all and it still took 30 minutes to get our food. Additionally, milkshakes got lost off the order so they didn't come until the end. Management is nonexistent. Normally steak n shakes have great speed and gets your order done fast and correctly. Not this one. read more

Steak 'n Shake is a must try to anyone who has never experienced the heaven that is the steakburger/fry/shake combo. I've been to a lot of Steak 'n Shakes in my lifetime and this one I can easily rate as mediocre. The wait staff tends to be on the lazy side and I've yet to be seated at a clean table. However, the food is always great. A must try as long as you don't mind going through the drive-thru and taking your food home to eat. read more

literally the best place i've been to in my life the food is actually way good and crazy cheap for a good amount of amazing food and the owner is literally the nicest man i've ever met he really helped me out w some things more than just food really an angel of a man i am probably gonna go to this place like every day read more

Waited one hour after order was taken. Two cheeseburgers with fries..one HOUR! Sunday at 12:30..not busy at all..should have been a huge red flag for us. Waitress didn't even stop by our table to let us know how long it would be or to apologize..we were too nice..we waited it out..ate and left. We are normally generous with our tipping..not today. Asked how our visit was..expressed our concerns and was told thank you. Needless to say, we will join the rest and will steer clear of Steak & Shake in Muncie, Indiana. No wonder they call it Steak & Wait. read more

Worst drive through in the state. Waited 15 minutes the other day to get to the order speaker. Got frustrated and left. I could have gone home and made my own Hamburger and French fries faster. read more

Steak and shake always has the rudest employees and it takes soo long. I often find myself wondering why I came in when stuck in the drive thru for 30 minutes.... 1/10 would not recommend. read more

Always love a late night trip to steak n shake. Perfect food after a night out. Better to go in, because the drive thru is about as slow as a passing glacier. read more

Steak and Shake Muncie is more or less your typical Steak and Shake. You know what you're going to get, which is good, reasonably priced food, and solid milkshakes. I've never really been dissatisfied with the food here, but the service can be hit-or-miss depending on how understaffed/overworked they are due to incompetent management. read more

Food is typical S & S fair, usually done right. From a drive through perspective though, they can be horribly slow, even when you are the only car at the window. Like others have stated, corporate needs to evaluate the manager and staff at this location because something is amiss. Usually S&S is tops on all of the critical areas, this location is not. read more

I eat at steak n shake fairly regularly, and it is usually very good and well priced. Late night is a little iffy for me right now, as my fiance and i had an unpleasant visit here recently during late night. Otherwise, very good read more

Our last visit was a total train wreck. They were not busy but seemed to still be short staffed. I only saw one waiter for the entire dining room. It took forever to get our food and we were missing a few items. Then the center if two of the burgers was very raw. It looked like fresh meat in the middle. We sent them back but only got one back. After waiting another 20+ minuets we decided to just leave. Our bill was ridiculous considering the state of our food. read more

Last night went through drive thru and had go in before we left to get what they shorted us. Then after making it home we find that the Frisco melts had regular bread that was over toasted. The sides had other food in it like they used one utensil for them all. But they did give us 72 packs of ketchup, 14 packs of the little crackers, and no napkins. They gave me less than I expected and paid for. read more

Not even 1 star after waiting forever to be seated then for our waiter... then I watch my food sit in the window while 3 other tables that came after get served... save ur time go somewhere else.. read more

How do I begin. We go there and it's pretty empty. No one acknowledges us for at least 5 minutes. And let's just say "yeah it'll be a minute" is not the proper way to speak to a customer. With someone that has at least 5 years of experience serving this place would get 0 stars if it were possible. Skip ahead to waiting 35 minutes for cold food. Asked to have our food remade because at this point we are the only people in the store! How could our food be cold?! The new general manager is just as lost as all of his staff. Take it from don't stop and eat there! The food quality is less than mediocre and so are the staff. I hope corporate replaces the current general manager. read more

The Steak 'n Shake in Muncie always has trash service, but on Friday they really out did themselves. I went there with my boyfriend, his brother, and his brothers girlfriend. When we walked in it was not very busy, maybe there were like 3 tables full. We were greeted by a nice young lady who told us that it may take a little longer because there is only one server. The people I was with and I are pretty understanding, so we said that's fine and sat down. A few minutes go by as we are looking at the menu, our server comes by. She looks stressed, but goes on to say "Be patient with me, it's only me today" and then asked my boyfriend what he wanted. My boyfriend was still looking over the menu a bit and as he was doing this, our server waved her hand in front of his face as if she was trying to rush him and telling him to "Come on" We all get our orders taken, but definitely felt rushed. She comes back not too long after and messed up all of our drink orders. Normally I would let this kind of simple mistake go, but the lady had already pissed me off by rushing my boyfriend and the rest of us. After this she brought us out our food and shakes, basically threw our silverware and napkins onto our table andd exclaimed again, "I'm the only one here" and "I'm about to scream" and then went on to the next table in a hurry. While we were finishing up our meals, she was no longer the only server. At this point in time 2 more servers had come in. But instead of checking on us and letting the other servers do the other tables, it seemed as if she was trying to avoid us. This went on for quite sometime. We were trying to get her attention and ask for some to go cups, but each time she bypassed our table. We had to ask a different server for the cups. Then when we went to pay, her attitude seemed to change, most likely for a tip. Of course, we didn't give her one. After that it seemed that her attitude changed back to annoyed again. Probably won't be eating back here again until they get their shit together. read more

good food, possibly the worst service in muncie which is hard to achieve. have waited in drive thru for 15 minutes which seems like an hour and today I went inside so they would see a person waiting and it was 25 minutes and would have been longer if I didn't go up to the counter myself. half of the food was warm not hot and the other half was cold. when I have been sitting inside the orders get screwed up and take forever but are usually not cold. so, I eat there rarely as they are like a 4 out of 10 but they could easily be a 9 if they had people working that had just a bit of focus. but they don't care. read more

It is ok food but not ok enough to wait for about 50 minutes for a kids meal. We go back but make sure you have enough time.

Would love to have a SNS in Massachusetts. Our server Angel was a delight. She's very friendly, the service was fast and the food was great. We tried several different burgers, all were really good and the StrawNana shake is unreal. ++++++ read more

Husband went through drive through and ordered 2 adult meals and a child's meal. When he got home we discovered all the orders were wrong. Calling the restaurant right away to let the manager know and get replacements the girl who answered hung up on me (not even knowing what I wanted), all I said was I wanted to speak to the person in charge. I called back several times and each time was hung up on. I will not be going back to Steak and Shake. read more
