    Very clean inside

It is sad they are no longer the 24-hour hotspot for late night burgers, sloppy addictive grilled cheese, and famous shakes. Closing earlier and limited staff due to low wages it seems but my dip in here for the first time in ages went very well. The two working the grill and cow shaking station were friendly and quick to make sure my mobile order was started even though I had just placed it while walking in. And the mobile app! Possibly the smoothest and most intuitive one out there, ripe for easy gift card integration, customizing dishes, and sorting options. I only did two shakes this time but find myself quickly reminiscing about the good old days of the Royal Steak burger, Frisco Melt, and many long late nights with big groups of friends making a great time. I noticed the rewards add up quickly too which is nice to offset rising prices. Restaurant was very clean. This location remains an iconic Lafayette headquarters for predictable juicy steak burgers, family pleasing milkshakes, fun pop music filled red and white atmosphere, and good value.

    Taco salad and Truffle burger.

Well pullled off the road to eat here. Seeee foooood! Lol. We both have a summer cold.. can u believe it??? So no shakes today. I had the Patty melt n fries. Wow it was perfect with the melted gov' Mt like cheese on it with the carmelized onions... sooo good! I woofed that down. The boy had a Taco salad. And boy it was very festive with red strips of chips in it. I did not get a bite. It's gone so it must have been good too. Then he ordered a truffle burger. Now that is a colossal burger. First he said he didn't like it then I tried it and I convinced him it's the truffle oil like flavor on it. So he cut it in smaller pieces and ate it like that. Cause it was truly messy for a guy with a mustache and beard! Lol

This review is about the New White Truffle Double Steakburger. They hit it out of the park with this. Loaded with mushrooms, delicious caramelized onions and an excellent truffle aioli sauce, plus the Swiss cheese! It costs more than the average burger, but worth it. Service was good. Management was good. The regular standbys were also done well. This was a good visit. Will be back. Hope this burger makes it and stays on the menu.

I ordered one chili Mac with extra meat through Grubhub. When I got it, it was burnt beyond edible. I have Covid and can't taste a whole lot but this tasted like crap. I tried calling the store multiple times but apparently they never answer their phone. This was even confirmed by the other Steak 'n Shake in town (they get multiple calls a day from people trying to get ahold of the other store but no one EVER answers the phone) I'm honestly surprised this location is still open. They are never busy so you'd think they'd be able to answer the phone. Can't tell me it's because of short staffing because I just said, I NEVER see people going through the drive thru and I don't even think their lobby is ever open anymore. I was really craving some unhealthy food that usually tastes decent but this ruined it for me. Yet another restaurant that lost my business. I'd give this place 0 stars but it won't let me.

The steakburger is pretty good. I was skeptical at first about this place since I'm not too big on chains. But this was popular in Indiana, so I had to try it and I was not disappointed! The meat patty was well marinated!

It's Steak N Shake. It's about like every other one. The location seemed pretty clean and the waiters have always been good at this location. The fact that it's 24-7 makes it on the sort list late at night for things open. I find it a bit annoying that they cut there fries so small you need to use a fork.

     a person holding a receipt

If I could give this Steak 'n Shake 0 Stars I would, Because I politely asked if I can do two different transaction and the lady said you have to do that at the window and so I went to the window and they said the total was $13:35 and I said I want to do 2 different transactions and she said I can't do that, and it was the same lady that I was speaking earlier. So anyways I just payed for it and they gave me the receipt and only 1/2 of the receipt had ink and the other didn't. So I don't know what My sister and I payed for and we don't know how much we owe to each other.

Great end to a great day

We were celebrating our anniversary so it was a special night for us. Our waitress was super but stretched thin so she wasn't as attentive as she probably was on another night. This is a very upscale place. Decor and service reflect that. Good old fashioned steakhouse vibe. Oysters Rockafeller were perfect. Bread was fresh and absolutely delicious. He had American Wagyu Ribeye. I had Steak Oscar. Both were cooked appropriately. Maybe slightly under seasoned as we both added salt which is not typical for us. The Old Fashioned was really good and they had a wide selection of wine/beer and a handful of specialty cocktails. Our 2nd round of drinks was comped due to slow service at the bar and dessert was on the house for our anniversary which we really appreciated. We will definitely go back and try other things on the menu. Our steaks were good but I wouldn't say they were worth the price. $110 for his and $80ish for my Oscar. It was a filet with truffled hollandaise sauce and a scant amount of King Crab. They no longer serve King Crab due to the cost. Strange. If we would pay $110 for a steak why wouldn't we pay for King Crab due but that was a minor detail. I wouldn't say have preferred more crab...give me snow crab. The dessert was delightful. Baked Alaska served table side with plenty of rum. Thank you for making us feel valued and special!

(e.g. the scallop dish had exactly 3 scallops for what you're paying.) Prices on the menu have also gone up since other Yelper pics of the menu. The bread and butter was delicious. There is a lot of it, so I asked to box up the leftover bread and butter. The waiter took it but definitely did not box up the same amount of bread that I left behind. I only received a fraction of what I expected to be boxed up. The butter was flat out discarded. I would have just boxed it up myself had I known that they'd make sure it would go to waste. Not sure what happened to my actual leftover bread. The waiter was telling me all about the desserts and really played up the baked Alaska. It sounded great and I had my heart set on it after hearing all about how awesome it was and then he came back and said they ran out. It would have been more efficient to check up on inventory before talking up the different menu items.

The space looks great, it's clean, and the staff is genuinely friendly. Service was very fast, even with multiple large groups in the room. Noise was completely reasonable. If anything, it may feel "a little loud" to someone whose baseline is the quieter side of the Lafayette-area dining scene, but compared to bigger-city restaurants it was fully fine and well within what I'd expect. Overall, The Bryant would fit right in in a market like Oklahoma City, Dallas, New York, or Pittsburgh and wouldn't feel out of place at all. Highly recommended.

I thought I was underdressed, but the dress code seems pretty casual. Water was served in a cold milk bottle. I could not decide what to order; everything on the menu looked absolutely delicious. The menu described the items well, and when I asked the wait staff for their preference or any recommendations, she told me five different favorite items that are often ordered, which was nice, but was not what I asked. I finally decided on the strawberry-and-brie cheeseburger. I ordered it medium well with fries. I was really disappointed in the French fries; they tasted old and cold, and when I cut into the hamburger, it was bloody. I sent the burger back, and this time they brought it out well done. The staff argued that it was medium well, with blood coming out of it. And before anybody thinks I'm confusing the strawberry jam on the burger with bloody pink meat, please see the picture. Upon receiving the new burger, which was cooked well done, I found it to be very good. It was tasty and juicy. As I was finishing my meal, a young family came in, and their child was making a lot of noise. A gentleman told them that if the child did not calm down, they would have to go outside. When the family tried to speak with the gentleman further, he continued walking away and did not stop to answer questions. I was not sitting close to this table, and yet I heard the gentleman talking to the young couple. Had I not already received my food and been getting ready to leave, I would have gotten up and gone with the couple in support. I understand setting standards, especially when the restaurant is bustling, but at this point, as a server, I could only observe two other tables in the entire restaurant, and one of them was preparing to leave. If I ever returned to this area, this restaurant would not be one I would return to.

Finding your way to the restaurant with all the construction in 2025 sucked though, so be aware of that. There were 7 of us, tired and grumpy from the rainy Purdue Game, rolling in at about 9pm, ready to get some real food for dinner. Fortunately, we were seated right away. We got chatting and enjoyed looking around at the fascinating and delightful pub style decor. The history of the restaurant and its owners is on the back of the menu and is a great and heartwarming read. I ordered the regular size portion of corned beef and cabbage with mashed potatoes and a slice of deliciously dense Irish bread. My bf got a pint of cider and Irish stew with a slice of Irish bread. The table also split an order of pub chips and at the end, a slice of Irish Bailey's cheesecake. The cheesecake is a must get!! My bf paid our bill which was about $40, which is a great price for the large quantity of yummy Irish food we enjoyed. I would love to go back here anytime we are in town.
